Nice! In earlier times the joints had grease fittings for regular greasing and life extension, at which time the joints were evaluated for wear.
The more common method involves lifting the vehicle and forcing the joints while grabbing the tire. Sideways forces check steering linkage joints while up/down hand positions are used to check ball joint play.
And the lovely assistant can be closer. 😋
