    My 2012 is currently torn down, doing the same thing, all new joints, links, seals and hubs. Also 2 1/2* caster cams to give it more castor to eliminate death wobble for good. Waiting ont a few more parts to be delivered before I can finish. In the mean time, cleaning up rust and painting it all.

    I have an older model truck says 04 but it has all the makers of an 03. I have leaf springs front and back. I have super loose steering and it’s to the point I don’t feel comfortable driving. I got the front wheels off the ground and tried shaking or moving every component. Feels rock solid in at a loss.

      Sounds like the unjoints need replaced in the front axle(s). Does it walk all over the road? It’s not fun. When I bought my truck I could tell they had been chasing this problem. New everything in the front end. All but unjoints. Lol. The guy said it was better but not great. Whew man I looked like a drunk driver! Lol. Replaced those and man it’s tight. On 37’s and she cruises now!

    • @tritanium1

    • @bengesell
      @bengesell 8 місяців тому

      I ended up finding a 8' long piece of pipe that I placed on my 3/4" breaker bar. "Give me a lever long enough and I can move the world" -B. Franklin Tightened it until it stopped turning. Then tried for 1/8" more but nothing happened. I can't give a number but I'm confident that I achieved the 405 lb ft. Thanks! @@tritanium1

    • @LeftLaneDiesels
      @LeftLaneDiesels  3 роки тому +3

      They are no good! They have really gone down hill in the last 5 years. I’ve had multiple tie rod ends and wheel bearings fail prematurely. Warranty them out just to watch them fail again. OEM lasts the longest and is a superior product.

    • @Mark-wz4ez
      @Mark-wz4ez 2 роки тому

      @@LeftLaneDiesels Hi. Great videos. Yours is the first I've come across even remotely addressing the track bar.
      I was just about to pull the trigger on all MOOG parts. 2 questions.
      1. MOOG vs Motorcraft. My local mechanic says Moog is the best. But I keep reading that since they started making it china, it's crud. While it seems easy enough to do, I'm not a mechanic and I really don't want to do this again. So, is Motorcraft really the way to go even though you can't grease the fittings and it's made in china too? If so, in terms of cost, it seems worth a couple hundred extra $$ if I only do it once.
      2. Does the track bar need to be replaced as well? and if so, can I just replace the ball joint and bushing? Again, I'm told locally, its not a good idea to replace only the ball joint and bushing. Thanks
