- Welcome Bluudies, During the filming of Carpeting the van I also Insulated the van with the Diall recycled plastic bottles loft insulation in the large voids / cavities in the walls and doors of my T5 Transporter Camper van conversion. I bought 3 rolls from B & Q for £56 quid delivered. The stuff is really easy to work with, Rip don't cut :) Non itchy or scratchy.

Great vid and very relaxing. Just birds singing and background noice no horrible trap music haha. Sick brah!
I’m just starting on a Vw t4 camper conversion been watching a lot of videos on conversions, just thermal / vapour barrier lined mine with the aluminium bubble wrap stuff and the walls and with the same recycling plastic bottle stuff thing it’s a pretty standard practice 👍 best of luck pal 😀
Cracking work been a follower for quite sometime great vids as aways 👍
Love the videos, keep it going mate. I’m doing a van so need the inspiration lol
Hope this helps!
Don’t want to be mister negative but Compacting it, like you are in places, isn’t efficient mate. You want it to stay fluffy to trap air. Folding and compacting leaves less space within the product to trap warm air. Mostly though you should be good. Certainly will be a belt n braces job for sure 👍🏻
Good to know, its only really compacted in the smaller hard to reach areas.
Luke, I used that very insulation in my shed build. I found out that you can rip it instead if trying to cut it.
I found that out too! Lol
Watching the last few videos up to this one I was half expecting "how in install a hydroponic system in your van" next!! Is that more a reflection on me?!
Hahaha
Van will be that warm now you will be sweating sleeping with windows open 😂
I'd rather that then too cold. :)
I wish 2 rolls did my swb 😂. Try 6 rolls to end up with a little bit of about 2 foot long left. Rammed it in every I could till I couldn't get any more in and then double down the sides and roof
wow, i thought i did overkill. well done sir.
"Rammed it in " is not the correct way. It must be fluffy. You need the air pockets to provide the insulation that is why some claim to have "lofting agents".
Presume you have to declare it to the insurance as being plastic insulation it increases the chance it will catch fire than the traditional stuff
Everything's declared.
A bad idea to pack this insulation.
