I can't be the only person who's glad to see a proper bassist doing these, right? It gets me really excited for when/if they do more bands with standout bassists because that can be a huge part of the band's signature sound.
Exactly, it makes me want to see more stuff off of that basis. Particularly The Police or Sting - it's quite fun to see big-budget, high-profile bands being emulated on a budget.
I really like the light-hearted, "let's give this a go" vibe of these presenters. They aren't sweating absolute fidelity. They're trying to get to the point where they can jam and experience something....and then they do with obvious joy. Makes it seem almost possible.
If you listen to the first two albums, it's not that hard, then from Absolution and after it starts getting pretty complicated, the effects they use are not just random even if it sounds like it, they really think about what to use, I think that that's what makes it hard to get their sound.
I know these were probably all recorded in a batch so we won't see changes for a while, but it would be nice to see what options were considered for the guitar rather than just "so we went for this one".
While I love this series is back, it doesn't have that "flavor" Matt and reaber brought to the table. No offense I love these two new folks, but I find them really "meh". I think replace the girl with reaber
@@jmabs5096 Who the fook is Reaber? lol. Would be silly to replace the bass player with another guitarist, these two are great as they are. They jam out the tracks nicely.
Today I have learnt three things… 1. These guys get better and better every episode. 2. These two play top o the shelf. 3. Dav is thirsty. Excellent video!
Dave and Cici are super talented. And they are funny to boot! When I watch this, I feel like I'm in a room with friends. Can't beat that! Well done Anderton's for having these two represent.
i like this duo cici and dave compliment each other very well, both very good players would love to see them do more metal and hard rock bands like judas priest and the Darkness and Queensrych
New "sound like" crew is growing on me. I'll always be partial to Matt and Rabea because they are how I discovered the channel, but glad to see Dave and Cici slowly making it their own.
There was a lot of, what seemed little, things I took for granted before the pandemic that I became nostalgic for. This is one of those things. Glad it is back and a new team which is doing a great job.
You nailed this one guys, congrats! Loved the Showbiz/Origin of Symmetry era of Muse, so thanks for shredding New Born. My first band Cave was named after their first single, and we even covered it on our first CD back in '99. Just about got away with it. Even attempting this Sounds Like is borderline insanity - no wonder you ended up with pencils up your noses and pants on your heads! Great job Dave & CiCi 👏
I feel like both these guys are absolutely right as the next iteration of Sounds Like videos. Good players and super down to earth. Great fit for Anderton's videos.
These 2 make my day just a little more enjoyable. Funny, fantastic informative and what players. More please. Inspirational. Ps queenie is a hidden gem.
Sounding like Muse is such a hard task and I've been waiting for this video. Well done with what you can, especially on a budget. Hope to see a breaking the bank version!
Nice job Cici and Dave! Your videos are my favorite Andertons uploads. You guys bring so much lightheartedness and enthusiasm and brilliant sounds to the channel.
Fantastic job! Love watching Dave and Cici play. The bass compressor makes a massive difference to the sound and that Pitch Fork Shifter Pedal was inspired.
Very refreshing to see both of these players know their stuff and the gear they’re trying to emulate. Both sounded wildly impressive given the price points. Please do more together! 🙏
Awesome! This is my favourite Sound Like so far with Dave and Cici such a hard band to sound like especially on a budget, love the Plug In Baby bass tone I'm a big fan of the earlier Muse songs. Keep rocking!
I've always liked these "sound like" videos but the Mr Flibble t-shirt (well, hoodie) pushed this one over the top. Well done! (I built myself a Klon-like distortion pedal called the Mr Flibble.)
to be fair, dave prefers getting all the sound from his pedals. Its way easier for some bloke with not much money and a cheap clean amp to get these sounds with inexpensive pedals
@@frankvanrijn964 I remember there was supposed to be a moratorium on using the DSL 40. The very next video, they used it and even talked about breaking their own rule.
Really congrats guys! You done a good job! You bring us that you were thinking to do, and think how to produce Muse sound so easly and show it to us…is a Big goal! Still thanks 🔝
To be honest, I have never heard Muse before, but with Dave and Cici, it was a wonderful noise, great video! Thank you Anderton's for tapping these talents for these videos!!!
Would love to see an episode where Matt and Rebea join in and compete against these two in a challenge to see who can sound more like (insert band here)
These two are a joy to watch, great sense of humour and are clearly genuine in their presenting style, also extremely talented musicians and i'm glad they've ditched the part where they walk around choosing guitars to fluff out the content which the previous presenters Matt and Rabea did, Dave and Cici know that pedals and amps are key when recreating sounds, pretty much any guitar in that shop will do the job we all know that.. unless you're a guitar snob or delusional..
I love watching these two re-boot the series. This was definitely not an easy task to take on, so this was super impressive. I’d like to see them do Dinosaur Jr.!!!
You guys found that a tough gig but made it happen with some budget gear. I'm not an effects guy so more appreciated your choice of bass and guitar and respective amps but with music as convoluted as Muse you need those pedals. Very enjoyable and with my limited knowledge of Muse, a great effort guy and gal :-0)
Love seeing someone enjoying what their playing Cici clearly digging the bass groove. I would love to see, Blackmore era Deep Purple or early Rainbow, Nightwish and Lordi. Keep up the great work.
Bass tone was incredible. For Wolstenholme who seems to have an affinity for extremely rare pedals forming the core of his sound the Hysteria sound was like straight out of their live show. Like, Bellamy is often the one characterized as the "effects guy" but most of the time he's either on fuzz or distortion and does the weird stuff for solos and such. But the bass has some very strange sounds used as standard tones. Guitar tone during Plug In Baby was also spot on. The fuzz choice was perfect for the job. I find that unless you really care about the weird siren effects you're usually better off *not* going with the ZVex since it's rather expensive for a fuzz and very hard to tame. The distortion could have used a bit more high end but the vibe was correct. And getting that kinda thin crunchy clean tone was cool as I usually don't see that acknowledged much.
I can't be the only person who's glad to see a proper bassist doing these, right? It gets me really excited for when/if they do more bands with standout bassists because that can be a huge part of the band's signature sound.
And she's so damn good.
CiCi is boss AF
i’ve been waiting for a bassist on sounds like for ages
Exactly, it makes me want to see more stuff off of that basis. Particularly The Police or Sting - it's quite fun to see big-budget, high-profile bands being emulated on a budget.
Definetely not!! Cici is a hell of a bass player.
I really like the light-hearted, "let's give this a go" vibe of these presenters. They aren't sweating absolute fidelity. They're trying to get to the point where they can jam and experience something....and then they do with obvious joy. Makes it seem almost possible.
If ever there was need for an “underrated comment” moment, i’m locking in that very thing rfh, rfn
I did like the full-on approach of Matt and Rabea tho, for me they’re still the face of Sounds Like
This was definitely a challenge… but it was fun 😂 That bloody synth pedal! (…but i want one)
Great job! Did you ever figure out why the pedal sound was always changing?
@@funk411 because its mental. Haha. We've had to lock it up in the pedal asylum before it did something dangerous. The world is safe. For now. :)
I love my mono synth pedal, the sub mode paired with a fuzz and octaver sounds like an Eldritch horror
Cici, you did a superb job ! Be proud . That bass looked so BIG against your little frame though. Can you reach the tuners?
Loving y’all on sounds like! And I love your hair!
Sounding like Muse is one of the hardest things ever. Doing it on a budget is insane.
If you listen to the first two albums, it's not that hard, then from Absolution and after it starts getting pretty complicated, the effects they use are not just random even if it sounds like it, they really think about what to use, I think that that's what makes it hard to get their sound.

This duo is brilliant for these videos. Super awesome chemistry and amazing playing!
Seen so many comments saying similar, but super gassed for Cici as a new presenter for this. Great player and great tone!
Thank you so much! :)
So so good
did rabea and matt leave or somethiing? been awhile since i've checked this channel.
I know these were probably all recorded in a batch so we won't see changes for a while, but it would be nice to see what options were considered for the guitar rather than just "so we went for this one".
£1500 budget again?

This was insanely well done considering how difficult it can be to nail these sounds

This is great. Two insanely talented people having a blast and nailing it. Cici is a new star on the channel, very impressed.
So awesome to see the bass properly represented in these! Cici and Dave killing it!

The TONES!!!!..... Fantastic playing Cici and Dave, this made my day, SO much fun!!!
CiCi and Dave are an awesome team who are so natural and talented... thank you both...
That was astounding, left me in awe of you both. Brilliant Vid, Cici and Dave, thank you.
Hysteria. Hell of a bass tone on that. Awesome
Oh yeah, that definitely sounded super close to Chris's original tone
These two….what’s taken the time getting them here? absolute revelation in presenting, dynamic and a laugh 😂

I would say they did a good job getting these tones on a budget. Good work!
The Guitar Center near me has about 1/10th of the inventory as Andertons. There are no stores around here anymore with a lot of gear.
Absolutely love these videos. Well done Captain for picking these two up.

CC's bass playing is outstanding, what a player. Why drop 'Queenie' or was it twin sister? Great Vid , Dave you are a brill guitarist.
Thank you so much :) Queenie is just Dave’s nickname for me haha!
Who does that make Dave?
Melchy, Edmund, Percy or Baldrick? 🤔

Nailed it guys!! Awesome playing from the pair of you, such iconic bass lines on the OOS album, good job 👏👏👏
