I really loved getting to play that Rickenbacker and SVT, that was ridiculously loud in the room!! Fun to do a by busting the bank for the first time :)
And the irony was you were too quiet in the mix 😞 Now do the same without busting the bank and see what the extra £4k bought you in tone. The Ricky had the hairs on the back of my neck standing up 😀
That was Great! Cici and Dave are extremely talented but even more just really nice and down to earth. Their personalities and love of music match that of Andertons music. A Great Match. Just love these videos. Cheers from Canada
So great guys! Not only are you great individual players, but together you seem to have a great match, and the most enjoyable part is the joy you seem to get from playing these songs. Its really inspiring.
you two has sailed up to be one of my favorite channels , combining a slight bit of "nerdery" and a giant portion of musicality :). Big Thanx from Sweden !!
Love watching you two whether on here or your own channels, separate or together. You’re both wonderfully amazing people and your videos are fantastic.
Outstanding - plain and simple - probably the best "sound like by busting the bank" show - whilst we are in that vein, please try to do a Police and Pink Floyd as well
Best sounds like episode ever. And Cici yet again is exactly on point both with sound and with playing. Dave is bit limited wby the SV20. Now I exactly understand why Ritchie was useing Marshall Majors.
Thank you both so much for your good attempt at Deep Purple. Ritchie Blackmore's guitar tone is difficult to achieve, especially as he played live through a 200 amp Marshall Major on full throttle. You can't replicate that at home without losing your windows. I think your choice of guitar, amp and cab were excellent, that particular booster, I'm not 100% convinced? What I loved was the energy especially on Highway Star, the song just screams energy and I believe you captured that, I could see your excitement at attempting this special song, from what was probably the best live Rock album ever recorded. "Made in Japan" unlike other albums, I never get bored of it, mainly because of Ritchie's guitar playing.
Everyone keeps saying it, but these 2 are awesome. Might sound dumb, but they seem (and no idea of course) but like genuinely decent/good people. Nice to see these days
Would love to see a sound like for... Queen: Brian May & John Deacon BY busting the bank John Mayer & Pino Palladino revisited without/BY busting the bank Foo Fighters: Chris Shiflett, Dave Grohl and Nate Mendel revisited without/BY busting the bank Periphery: Misha "Bulb" Mansoor, Jake Bowen, Mark Holcomb and Adam "Nolly" Getgood without/BY busting Kiss: Ace Frehley/Tommy Thayer, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons revisited without/BY busting the bank
"You have to experience on of these in the room" Oh yes, I had the pleasure to play trough an Ampeg SVT Heritage of a friend of mine. With the matching 8x10... And this was the moment I realized: "Ah, that's why people play through an 8x10 cabinet" It feels unreal to have this much punch behind you on stage.
Even on the video, the Bust the Bank version was "it" as far as the experience of Deep Purple MkII tone. Rickenbacker 4003 vs Fender P-Bass? (Discounting that this specific Fender had a high setup.) Great stuff, as usual.
IMy First concert was Deep Purple in 1975 or 76 and Blackmore was still with them, they were touring the Burn album, it was so loud my ears were ringing the next day. Standing in the pit would not have been louder, we were off to one side and the PA perked things up.
You guys sounded amazing! I like this show concept too. It’s nice to see and hear both ends of the gear spectrum in terms of cost. We all know however that the biggest element to great sound are the musicians. You guys could make toy guitars sound great!
The grateful Dead's system was 10 db louder than deep purple in 1974 . the wall of sound could be heard clear as day for a 1/4 mile.... 604 total speakers, powered by 89 300-watt solid-state and three 350-watt vacuum tube amplifiers generating a total of 26,400 watts of power. 586 JBL speakers and 54 Electro-Voice tweeters, powered by 48 600-watt McIntosh MC-2300 amplifiers generating a total of 28,800 watts of continuous (RMS) power). This system projected high-quality playback at six hundred feet (180 m) with an acceptable sound projected for one-quarter mile (400 m), at which point wind interference degraded it. im not sure what the max Db it could push. i think it was more about clarity than db. The Grateful Dead's 1974 wall of sound weighed 75 tons, produced a sound over 127 decibels and took a day to build. but apparently baseball stadiums fans are louder 140 db
@@Halliday7895 The sound system at Knebworth in 1985 was reportedly pulling 250Kw, and I can confirm that maybe 300ft from the stage, the sound was superb. It was also reported that the volume busted the permitted sound level, which I assume the promoter knew it would ahead of time, and the local council levied the maximum fine for flouting the restriction. .... £2,000. ROFL
I know Dave loves the solid-state amps, but the tube Marshall takes it up a notch, because this was the "breaking the bank" version I would have loved to have seen him used a 100-watt plexi full stack. When I started playing in 1973 people typically used 1/2 stacks as a practice rig and preformed using 100-watt heads and two 4x12 cabinets.
Don't forget that you also have to disconnect the center pickup in that strat and rewire it to switch like a tele. That's how Blackmore has always set up his strays.
Another fun episode, I was getting a slight headache just watching the video. I can imagine what it was like in the room, it sounds like earplugs were necessary.
Very educational in a sense that it demonstrates well that getting a strat, treble booster and marshall doesn't necessarily get you that close. It somewhat resembles Blackmore's sound but the tones in this video lack bottom end fattness that was Blackmore's signature. There is way too much treble. Blackmore is one of the hardest people to copy sound and playing wise and I do understand the limitations such as time and resources available to make these episodes so I didn't want to sound negative just as a hardcore Blackmore geek, I wanted to point these things out. The SV20 is actually a great choice, sounds killer with the right speakers and a hornby skewes treble booster replica.
Exact !!! This doesn't sound like blackmore at all. In a old video Dave sounds closer, still far from DogwithtwoBones, Mgalbu or Emanuele Cognigni, but better than this. ua-cam.com/video/WgtxWnBFjyc/v-deo.html
1970s strat or yjm strat + treble booster + aiwa tp1011 + organ pedal + marshall major ( modern amp like bluguitar amp 1 mercury or silver + rb1011 by guitarslinger or laney ti boost )
I really loved getting to play that Rickenbacker and SVT, that was ridiculously loud in the room!! Fun to do a by busting the bank for the first time :)
I have a Rick 4003S and it’s probably my favourite bass that I have, definitely one of the best-sounding basses I have
And the irony was you were too quiet in the mix 😞 Now do the same without busting the bank and see what the extra £4k bought you in tone. The Ricky had the hairs on the back of my neck standing up 😀
A Queen outranks a Captain. I say you own it already. ;) On a serious note, great playing.
@@IrLosin Haha!! I like your logic. Thank you so much :)
I think captain Lee should give you that rik !
bloodsucker, burn, and no smoke on the water. absolutely perfect selection
Just makes sense that doing Deep Purple the decibel meter never went under 100dB. Lovely as usual, guys, bang on!
I could watch Dave and Cici everyday. They look like they're having so much fun!
With Dave and Cici, they would be the perfect combo to try to sound like The Police.
agreed!
Definitely
i have suggested The Police multiple times too! i cant wait to see/hear that one! DO IT, DO IT DO IT ad infinitum ....
By busting the bank, they were having way too much fun to interrupt!
Great Idea‼️👍🏻😃👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Highway star, I'm 65 and this one made me smile 😁 You two are great, Never miss your stuff.
Great vid and recreation of Deep Purple’s tone. I loved the way Ritchie put his own spin on Strat tone!
doesn't sound like Blackmore's tone though.
These are the most fun and entertaining series at Andertons. Look forward each time to watch Dave and Cici
Dave and Cici get better every time - please don't leave it long until the next one!
are they married?
@Toledo just good friends I think

This combination of humans is incredibly endearing. Effortless flow and wholesome positive vibes plus they both REALLY know their stuff.
Absolutely brilliant . Blackmore fan all my life. Thank you two for sharing .love it .🤘🙏
So great guys! Not only are you great individual players, but together you seem to have a great match, and the most enjoyable part is the joy you seem to get from playing these songs. Its really inspiring.
That was wonderful! Your sheer joy at what you were doing is infectious and the playing was superb. Looking forward to the next one.
Lots of fun watching them have lots of fun playing great gear cranked!!!!
Very entertaining duo, Cici and Dave rock🎸😎

The new Sound Like crew get better with every video. This one was great, from the humor to the tone to the playing. More plz!

Cici and Dave always cheer me up. Thank you.
I’m so happy to hear that :) thank you!!
Burn was very well done! Great episode.
Thanks you two so much, Deep Purple are one of my favourite bands and it’s great to see new videos about them 👍

Still laughing at the Blackmore's Knight break in the middle! Excellent stuff you two!
Lol, that part was hilarious. Dave has a great sense of humor.
*Blackmore's Night though :)
gosh i always love this series,
They have such great chemistry. You can also see they play in a band together, they are really in sync.
Wow f..king Wow, superb playing from both of you.
Dave and ci ci congratulations that was awesome 👌 👏
These two are the best. Cici's and Dave's joy just radiates getting to play this and as loud as all of us dream.

their "Sound like Deep Purple on a budget" actually gets alot closer in sound than this.
Used to love Rabea and Co. but Cici and Co. Knock it for six….soooo good, watched the cheapo Muse and the pricey Purple..brilliant playing guys 😁
Your both amazing players gr8 job!
So good. These 2 make me smile. Keep up the great vids man.
These two are perfect for this series!!!!
they really are, but could be topped by gilmour and waters playing deep purple...
Another cracking episode. Keep them coming. With or without busting. Both fine by me. Just super entertaining.
I knew within the first minute that this video was going to be epic. 🤣 Great work, both of you!
The Rickenbacker 4003 plus Ampeg SVT Classic tandem is unbeatable!!!
This felt like it was about five minutes long. I want so much more! More songs, more jams, more music! These are so much fun.

Bravo Andertons! this is a great series!
Dave was amazing this episode, damn. Cici still star of the show as usual, despite the unfortunate mix.
