Thank you for vid, helped me do the initial sorting. I tried a wooden insert solution too. Made it about 20% through and tossed it (I was hangry at the time). The company had completely misrepresented the product, time and effort to assemble plus cost more than twice the game itself. Folded Space was pretty easy to build and cost less than the game. Still not completely sold on if it does enough to justify itself. Will see after I get some games in.
Thanks for the review, if you do print out cards to separate the monster deck in the insert any chance you could share them? I have the same concern about having to search through it each time.
Sure can. Though if I can't find something, it's more likely I'll just cut some card up and hand label them rather than trying to make something pretty.
@@PurpleMoosePlays thanks, that’s actually exactly what I was looking for with more dividers to boot. The font is a little simple but beggars can’t be choosers :)
Those come with the game, though I also downloaded and printed these to separate the monster decks as well: boardgamegeek.com/filepage/212173/folded-space-organiser-inserts-low-ink
It LOOKs nice, but somehow I got the feeling that this actually INCREASES setup time. If you just use the baggies you can have the initiative token, standees and monster attack cards in the same place. You DO have to find the right baggy, but after that you're good to go. Here they are spread in 3 different places etc. What's your experience with setup time?
It does fit, but I had to pull out the foam dividers in the middle and make some paper signs instead. Now there is enough space and it works great now🙂
@@kroebocop Thanks for this comment. I was planning to sleeve my JotL game and use the folded space insert and didn't imagine that it could be possible that not all cards had space with the dividers, so you saved me from glueing the dividers stuck in case it turns out I need to remove them (but I guess I'll see how it fits together when I recieve the insert eventually).
mosnters are sorted vertically, which doens't really help with set up. initiative tokens are all messed up together. how would that help me? I need to put them all away just to find specific one. monster cards are all together? terrible. status effect tokens are also in one space, just like hp tokens. this insert looks nice but it is terrible when it comes to set up a scenario. this is the biggest problem with insterts. they are designed by people who never played the game, which leads to stupid ideas. I would never buy it.
Can't disagree, but the game as released has all or more of the same issues and this fixes many of the issues at a much lower cost than other companies' inserts tend to cost, so it's still an improvement. I've also since printed out dividers for the monster cards which make that much less of a problem.
Great overview and review. This is my 4th Folded Space insert and I agree it’s the best insert company for the reasons you have outlined.

Hardly ideal, but I found these on BGG. boardgamegeek.com/filepage/212173/folded-space-organiser-inserts-low-ink

@@RyanSmith-bi9sy Yup, agreed. Just printed the last page with the monster dividers and it works perfectly!
Thank you this thorough review. Can this FS insert hold sleeved cards?
yes it can, i saw it in another video review for this type of insert
This looks great. I am looking to get one. I am curious if you can divide the AI deck with initiative tokens or would it not fit?
you can, but the result is not satisfying, they are too small and will move easily, or they just simply fell in between other cards
How necessary is the glue for the foam core to stick together?
I think it’s pretty much mandatory.
So I just bought this game and organizer....do the card dividers come with the game or did you purchase those separately?

Sorry, it's been a very long time since I've played, so I can't really say.
Does this organizer fit all sleeved cards?
Sorry, I don't know, I don't sleeve my cards.

What do you keep in the big character boxes?
Anything I don't have access to or am not using, like extra character sheets and ability cards for higher levels

@@PurpleMoosePlays oh yeah, inserts can be crazy expensive :D the most important thing is how it works for you. if it helps, then it works :)
