Too many scotch bonnets? Holy cow that honey hole was awesome! You found, once again, a few of my bucket list shells. That cowrie was awesome. That lion paw is to die for! What a great trip! 🐚
Lol! Never too many Scotch Bonnets... though I will say, I try to be selective and only grab the ones that particularly catch my eye! Thanks so much for watching, dear shell friend!
Hi Brian! Love a rainy day on the beach. It's so calming and surreal. The cowrie was amazing and man oh man all those bonnets😍! I would love to find a lions paw (bucket list shell for sure!). Thanks for the adventure!!!
I just LOVE watching you shell! How excited you get when you find a special treasure is the best! (Ya know that lions paw for example) thank you for letting us come along on your adventures ❤️
Showing footage of the ocean looks similar to the coast where I live along the southern Oregon coast here in Brookings. Shelling, such as it is here, you have to be vigilant of the sneaker waves that come out of nowhere and are able to wash you out to sea! They have signs here that say never turn your back to the sea! All the beautiful finds today made my Monday morning and congrat's on the cowrie find! Still washing my feet off after this stroll with you and, of course, thanx for letting me tag along....in 4k, of course!!!
Love that lions paw and cowrie!! You should go to Navarre Florida. I typically find lots of flat scallops, bittersweets, imperial Venus, cones, augers. You can also find sundials, distorsios, scotch bonnets, cabrits murex. It’s a beautiful, chill beach.
Ohhh my oh my! Gorrrrrgeous 🐚🐚🐚🐚❤️❤️ that lions paw was awesome, no. 1 on my dreams list for shelling this year, fingers crossed 🤞 Can’t wait to get out there shelling again. . Thanks as always for a superb quality vlog 😊😊😊
This bea h walk was indescribable the treasures were everywhere the cowrie is gorgeous.. i would have kept the teeth ridge and your lions paws.. not even to mention the bonnets! Thank you Brian!!!
What a treat ! I love rainy days at the beach they are very soothing for me ! I would love to find a scotch bonnet they are so cool and beautiful ! I also love the white olive and Cuban frog shell ! Thank you for sharing your beautiful treasures ! 🐚🏖️🥰
Great day of shelling.....glad you survived the rain. I'm driving from NC to that area soon, and my main goal is to find a scotch bonnet or two. Hope I get lucky! Love watching your beach walks.
Haha I always try to bring a poncho in my bag just in case! For some reason Scotch Bonnets wash up like crazy in the Jupiter, Juno, Palm Beach areas... Thanks for watching!
Wow, you really have the touch in SE FL! I've got to make that drive more often! Tho I LOVE the bittersweets, I have to say my favs are the distorsio, the frog shell, and leafy jewel box. And I've not seen anyone find an apple murex here! Cool!
I love shelling in this region of Florida, but I have to admit... I have been totally skunked here almost as many times as having good days. I just don't upload that stuff, haha! SE Florida can be incredibly hit or miss, but when it's good, it's generally really good! Thanks for watching!
Haven't been to Juno Beach....is there a public parking area? Loved the Lions Paw!! Also the little cowrie that was so rare to find in southeast Florida!
Hi friend, there is quite a bit of information about parking areas here - www.saltchef.com/catch_fish/FL/Palm_Beach/juno_beach_accesses.html#google_vignette&gsc.tab=0 Thank you so much froe watching!
A couple of my favorite spots are the Pier, access 3, and access 6, but it all really depends on the day and if the tide has pushed up any shell beds. I have been a few times and gotten totally skunked - of course I don't upload that content 🤣 Getting out to explore is the best way to go about your shell journey! 💙 Thanks for watching!
I generally walk south from the pier, but walking north can be great too! It all depends on where the tide and winds wash up those shell piles. This was really the first time I "dug" for shells, and that was only because I spotted a couple of the Murex's sticking out of the sand. Someone had found them all previously, and left them on the beach. Then, tide water and wind covered them up with sand again. Thanks for watching!
That’s my neck of the woods. I live further south. Unfortunately the majority of shells that wash up are too worn to be collectible. The exception is finding areas after beach reconstitution projects. Then you will shells in amazing conditions and some true rarities.
Had to jump on and tell you, today I found a very old, looks fossilized possibly but it is intact Caribbean vase shell on little hickory in Bonita Springs (SWF)! I didn’t know this was possible! It’s blowing my mind!
Ahhh this is awesome! If it appears like it might be a fossil, perhaps it's a Hystrivasum horridum? These fossil shells can be found in Florida! Thanks so much for watching1
Small Scotch Bonnets seem to wash up with frequency in this area of Florida, I have found. If you are able to get out early in the morning, you should definitely be able to find a few! Thanks for watching!
I watched a u tube video about how hermit crabs r using junk plastic since they can’t find shells on the beaches. Too many people just taking all the shells.
Hi friend, I appreciate you voicing your concern here. I always try to be mindful of my own beach-combing footprint, and try to follow guidelines of ethical shelling; maintaining respect for the live creatures on the beach and in the ocean(it is their habitat first and foremost), limiting the amount of shells I collect, and trying to leave the beach a better, and cleaner place than how I found it. I also frequently promote this education on my channel as I realize it is important to sustainability. Thank you again for watching!

What was the closest Juno Beach access you were near? We will be making a pit stop there around the end of April. Love your videos.

The best scotch bonnet looks alot like the checkered bonnets from Australia. Are they related?
They are definitely distantly related, but not the same species.
Thanks for watching!
Where is this beach ?
Juno Beach in SE Florida!
Thanks for watching!
Wow, Brian, you scored big time, even without the "honey hole"!😄 You said you were in SE FL but not exactly where. Was it near Palm Beach?
Hi friend, it was such an enjoyable day! This was Juno(I included it in the title) 😊
