Thank you for keeping the beauty and magic of SWF alive! My in-laws have a second home on Naples near Clam Pass, , and we've been going there religiously for almost 20 years. Birding and nature photography are hobbies of mine, and I am still feeling sad and sick to my stomach over the devastation on Sanibel, Ft. Meyers, and the Naples beach area. Seeing you out there and continuing your passion and love for beach creatures and seashells is helping me on so many levels. THANK YOU. A huge part of my heart resides down there, and we dearly hope things will be fixed enough so that can visit again in March. Much love to you. God bless and much love XO
Oh beach friend, I think I know that pain you feel. I had never made a video about Clam Pass but what a fun boardwalk and little trolley to the beach! I've been there a few times - not known for shells but I did want to show the beach on my channel one day. Anyhoo - I think you know how much we love living here, so we're just going to do the best we can with what we have to work with until we're made whole again. The gulf waters and critters are already doing their thing so we should try to get on and do ours. It's going to take a lot more work but I can't imagine living anywhere else! ❤️🌴🌊🐚
@@SWFBeachLife Thank you friend, and I hear you. SWF is a paradise and one day I hope I can begin spending much more time down there. I adore your channel and your adventures and finds, and celebrate every shell you come across. Much love and appreciation to you. LeeAnn 💖✨🐚🦭
The sunlight on that gargantuan angel wing is really something wonderful! I love it when you keep 'weird' shells or shells that aren't quite perfect... beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
I leave barnacles and stuff on a couple big clunkers so the kids can see that we do not always pull them off of the beach in "specimen perfect" shape. It really makes me so appreciate all they must endure to get to us at all. For a decade, I didn't find out what they ate... sometimes they eat each other, --even their own kind !. And to think they use their radulas or tongues to "lick" a hole through another shell !. Now, that's what I call determination !.
Hi Sharmon, What a great haul of moon snails! That huge one is stunning!! But I'm very curious why you're sleeping with those giants under your pillow.....🤔 Love the other shells as well. I'm glad you took that cushion off the island and put in the garbage. Hope you have a wonderful week! Big hug and lots of love, xoxo ❤️, Ilona
Oh I was being quite silly and I do not sleep with moon snails under my pillow. I actually keep them in a little bowl sewed from clothesline covered in fabric right by my front door on my telephone table. And I was able to almost double my garbage haul with one trip! I'll happily help take as much junk off the beach as possible. I'm glad I started keeping track. I hope you are fantastic and you have a wonderful holiday! ❤️
Wow! How freaky was that finding such LARGE shells! The sand dollar, the moon snail, the angel wing, WOW! I was starting to think you had wound up in The Land Of The Lost! I was expecting a giant to come strolling down the beach. You hit the jackpot thats for sure. 😁👍
Absolutely fabulous! Next time I’m down there I’m for sure booking a tour with Ali & Carlos. So fun shelling with you this week, thank you for keeping all us landlocked shell lovers on the beach with you.
Very nice collection. Not even half a year ago I often walked along the banks of the river Rhine, with small sand beaches. Looking for perfectly preserved Unio crassus doublets in the clay banks, a species which has been extinct in my country for over 50 years. But also purple Corbicula fluminea and also certain fresh water mussels. Over the years I have collected over 50 kg of debris, from plastic tanks to fishing gear. The big items are not so harmful, instead it's the small plastic stuff (without much weight) that causes much damage to the environment. Animals, especially birds ingest those and die. It's also not so good for grazing cattle, and in the end the tiny plastics end up in the food chain.
That makes me feel better about the tiny pieces of plastic I normally remove from the beach. It might not weigh much but I guess every little bit helps.
It's 16*F while I'm watching this video. OOooooh I can feel the warm wet sand between my toes, Oh and OUCH the sharp shells!!! Your videos take me away...better than Calgon!! Thank you!!!!
I love when the white pelicans migrate South. They make a stop at the wildlife refuge down the street (northern Alabama). I'm so excited to watch this trip. With the cold weather coming, I need some virtual SWFlorida beach/shelling time ❤❤❤❤
Same comment as always, "WOW"! I do also want to add that I have watched a TON of shelling videos--your channel got me started, and the things I like most about SWF Beach Life is the quality of your videos, your enthusiasm/excitement and knowledge, and your pace: you keep it moving, but always let us admire each shell, both sides, and always in frame, and I really appreciate that, as I don't have the opportunity to see many of these shells for myself (yet!). The hurricanes did bring our beach some new to me shells, and it is very exciting when that happens! Like you said, take what joy you can find! Thx for another great video, and shell on!

Lovely. I spotted some green shoots on Kice to, so where the damage was done, nature is coming back and, again, you did a good deed taking rubbish and got rewarded with lovely shells, lucky you!! Stay safe xx
Island love...yes I do think things are regrowing. It's going to take longer in some areas than others, but at least the 10K island almost looks like nothing ever happened. I can't kayak there, but I won't complain. I hope all is well by you! ❤️
You have got to be kidding! Sleep with them under your pillow?!! 😂 What a HUGE angel wing! And you find the coolest hinged SJ. The AC is the color we have up here. Yep. That's a lot of moon snails! I've never found a thick Lucien but they ri d me of a bigger version of the PA Lucien with the indentation and ridges. Kice always seems to have the most shells. The hinged spinny jewel box is so uniquely beautiful, the worm shells wow, the moon snails you found wow so many, the sand dollars, paper fig was very nice along with top shell. Just so many beautiful shells. The very big angel wings were very beautiful. I dont live anywhere near the oceans so I love to watch yuh our videos. I would love to be able to go shelling at look east once in my lifetime.
The tulips ,horse conch, fighting conch ,the crown conch the true tulip, alphabet cones how do you pick a favorite shell when they are all so beautiful and unique. How do you pick what you like the most?
The apple mericks, lighting welcks and lim ace merick. Love them. I live that you pick up the trash you can pick up and take it away. Still saying prayers for everyone who was affected by the hurricane and all the people like you who are doing what they can do to help. Thank you for helping and shelling.
My 14-year-old old daughter and I are coming down at the beginning of March. She has only been to the ocean once and didn't find many shells. I plan on doing a shelling tour while we are there and hope we have half the luck you seem to! I love watching your videos!
That was so FUN!!!!! Such great finds! So great you are doing your part to clean up!! Thank you for the great trip! Have a good week. See you Sunday! XOXO
You found a new species. The Morse Code Cone, a sub genre of the Alphabet Cone. Seeing the piles of shells washed way up on Kice and all the flattened trees shows how far the storm surge came. And that huge pile of Pen Shells! This excursion shows that there is truth to the feeling that after a storm the shelling is great. As the tides continue to churn the sand up more will be revealed.
I really can't even begin to imagine what those island must have been like during the hurricane. The water most likely went completely over those islands. CRAZY!
Thank you for taking us on another awesome trip! It's not every day that one can pick up a handful of shark eyes in just a few seconds! I really want to go on a shelling tour now! Really love those live critters! I think they're so cute! Thank you for picking up trash and junks! I hope things are recovering.

As always, thank you for sharing the most beautiful part of Florida!💕🙏🏻💕Im continuing to pray for rebuilding and the spirits of the wonderful SWFL people.
OMG your only six minutes into video and I am SO gitty for you! ❤those are some big shells.. that moon snail wow and that angel wing double wow ❤❤.. thanks for picking up the lettered Olive, I had never seen a live critter in one of those ❤
My STARS you had a great day of shelling!!!! I am gobsmacked!! The pear whelks and the paper figs make me SO happy!!! And those shark eyes!!! WOW!!! So many!!! And they were so gorgeous! And swirly! You know what I haven't seen you pick up in a long time? Baby ears. I'm not sure if it's because you just haven't seen any, or if you don't bother with them. I cannot wait for the day I can make a trip down there an go shelling. Someday, someday. But it's happening. And when it does, I will definitely be joining some of these shelling tours. I would have to remember to wear sun glasses when shelling among those dead mangroves. I KNOW I would bend down and impale my eye on a stick. LOL
Oh you really have to be careful when shelling on Kice. I've knocked my head a time or two 😂 And you are right - I have not seen a baby's ear in a really, really long time. I would definitely bother - I just haven't seen any!
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful shell hunting trips!! I’m terrible sad that I’m not going to be able to go to Sanibel campground!! I was getting excited to meet you & go kayaking with you!! Definitely going next year!! 🤗❤️🦋 Is the first time I see a live letter olive 🤗🤗 My favorite shell is Angel Wings. We lost our 21 yr old beautiful gorgeous sweet strong Christian son 12/25/2016 due to a condition that showed up when he was a perfectly healthy competitive swimmer 17 yr old. Is called EDS Ellet’s Danlos Syndrome (lack of collagen in your body) There’s no cure 🥲🥲🥲That’s why we started going to Sanibel in the Winter & during Christmas bc is extremely difficult for my husband & I to stay here. I hardly ever find one, but it remind me where our precious son is. Some of the amazing ladies at the Campground surprise me sometimes with one ❤️🦋❤️ My goodness that’s the largest Angel wing I have ever seen!! Next year I’ll show you some crafts I do in a shadow box I do with them!! 🙌🏻🦋🙏🏻 Blessings to you my dear 😘🥰😍We must go together to that beach next year!!
I hope you are able to come next year and you find dozens of those angel wings ❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼 I hope you have a wonderful holiday despite you not being here.
@@SWFBeachLife is being difficult 😔 but we have another son that always flies to meet us in Sanibel for Christmas. He usually brings 2 or 3 friends with him. We’ll be together at home this year!! Yes, we already got an email from the park!! If we still here in this world we will be there!! Next year will be our 7th year!! I can’t wait to go kayaking with you!! I actually have an outgoing personality so is very easy for people to get along with me 🤗🦋🤗 I already love ❤️ you, so I know it will be great!! Do you collect anything? Is there something I can bring you from Kentucky? We’ll keep in touch!! You made my day every Sunday!! 🙌🏻🦋🙏🏻 Be safe!!
Hello Beach Angel! What a joy to hear your voice again. I waited until this evening to see what you've been up to, but it wasn't easy! I crocheted four hats today, so that kept me busy. What an interesting trip you're having! Those big sand dollars are amazing, as are the shark's eyes and the angel wings. It's your day to find special shells, for sure! It seems that the sea is offering up its best shells, trying to apologize for its crimes against the shore. Here's a suggestion for some quick projects for your auction. Find some small, pretty glass (or plastic) jars or bottles with tight fitting stoppers or lids. You just fill them with very dry sand and a few tiny shells before putting the tops on. I made several of these before leaving the island in 1986 and, my right hand to Neptune, they still have the faint scent of the sea! My aunt taught me to make these reminders of vacations past, which she called "Sea Bottles." This is also a great way to showcase tiny shells. Coquina make very pretty sea bottles and though the sand holds the scent of the sea much better, shells do hold that precious aroma for about ten years. Of course, if the bottles are opened frequently or left open, the scent fades quickly. If you can find small bottles or jars at Hobby Lobby, where they're inexpensive, you could make lots of these to auction off or just sell them outright for five or ten dollars, depending on their size. Oh, Sharmon, I do love to hear the joy and excitement in your voice as you pick up handfuls of shells! I'm so glad you're having a great day! After hearing your voice filled with pain after the storm came through, it's nice to hear the happiness you're feeling today! As for me, I'm finally beginning to feel better. I'm actually going to try to make cookies next week and even prepare a simple Christmas dinner. My husband and I will be celebrating the Day together and I have given him an IOU for a handmade cashmere sweater for his gift. I've got my gift already, a new diamond ring. He's a sweetheart. I hope you and all our beach friends have a wonderful Hannukah, Christmas and New Year! Much love to all from The Lost Mermaid 🐚🧜
Well mermaid, it sounds like you are recovering nicely, just in time for Christmas. I hope you have a lovely holiday and you're feeling stronger and better each day. Thank you for the sea bottle idea! I think I have plenty of goodies though. Some other wonderful people have donated additional goodies - I'm really excited to share!
The shot of the moonstones under your pillow just slayed me!!! You are so terrific! Thanks for sharing your adventures! It -2 here in Wisconsin today so this was a fun watch!!
No on the -2. Just no. You need a trip to Florida stat! And I'm glad you understood my humor. So many people asked me why I sleep with moon snails under my pillow 🤣
I really enjoy your excitement and laughter when so many shells find their way into your hand at one time. But I, especially, enjoy your sound effects: burluuurp! It was perfect! 😆
Love your sense of humor about removing hurricane debris. 😂That could be a sad and depressing thing, but you’re making the best of it and doing your part to help the recovery. So cool to get to visit 3 different islands, though!
There was one time when we were vacationing at Sanibel Island (1998), was a storm and the next day during a low tide there were tons of paper figs all over the beach! Amazing! Have a bunch of them in a Ball jar!
I can’t believe you passed over the hinged spiny jewel box at 27:05, when you picked up the little horse conch. Just saying! But you had some amazing finds on this trip!
Thank you! Do you have a compiled list of all the boat tours you recommend? I have been combing through your videos trying to write all the good inside info down.
@@christyobowa1322 I do list them on my FAQ page on my website but in the Marco area I like SWFShellGuide.com and in the Ft. Myers area I like adventureinparadiseinc.com

So many lovely 🐚! It's hard to pick a favorite. I love sanddollars so that huge one would be amazing! That said, I love the horse conch, lightening whelks, apple murex , tulips, worm snails 😂🥰😍
Fantastic shell finds there. Awesome in finding that big moon snail! Lots of moon snails, wow. 😃 How wonderful to go to three of the islands to find shells. Really a good haul of shells. 🐚🌊
All the beautiful shells ... one after the other ... they kept coming and coming. I was actually waiting for the shoe to drop ... but, it never did. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
As you are looking around , could you show some of the other types of shells. We don't have anything like all the ones you show, but I would love to see the whole variety of what there is
I love the beach time,...i turn up the volume and close my eyes and it's like i'm there, walking and relaxing,....so fun! you've taught me so much about the shells you find and it's been so fun! We usually go to Treasure Island area, Sunset beach but will be heading to Anna Maria next time we visit sunny Florida!
This was amazing! Those large angel wings are just gorgeous, and I noticed the biggest one is left facing! You got some really beautiful shells today. Thank you so much! ❤️🐚
What a marvelous day of shelling! I loved the huge moon shell, and the smaller ones as well, but my favorite today was the large Lightening Whelk and the huge Angel Wing! What fabulous finds! Thank you for picking up beach trash - especially since Ian. If everyone picks up just a little bit as they are out, it will aid in the recovery of all the islands. I hope you are taking advantage of the pop up concerts on the beach downtown. These are the ones being organized by Stephen Clark, Singer/Songwriter. It's also very nice to hear the joy in your voice these days. It will still take time to let the trauma melt away, but getting out and facing things is a great way to heal. I wish you a very Merry and Blessed Christmas. xoxoxo
Wishing you a Happy Christmas and may the New Year brings you only happy times. Good luck to all of those still dealing with such hardship. we hope they receive all the help and support they need.
I cannot fathom you found a lace murex operculum! They're already so difficult to find alive at all, and getting an operculum in perfect condition like that just sitting in the shell it belonged to is super cool. To me its definitely one of your more impressive finds. I also did not know that the thick lucines had the cool yellow interior coloration. The only ones I've seen have been on Bunche, but as it usually goes around there, they're quite bleached out every time. The more you know. Very cool finds! :)
I found another thick lucine with a yellow interior on Keewaydin today. Super interesting. I know with that lace murex - super interesting I got to have the shell and the operculum without harming the critter! I was still enamored with that moon snail. I don't find those big ones very often.
Wish i was there! i have to say at the 14:32 mark i was mentally trying to wish you to look at your 5:00 at that lightening welk and possibly another bore snail, And then up at a high 1:00 and back down to maybe another welk at the 9:00 ? I'm trying to fine tune my shell eyes! 😁
It's like Carrie Underwood says in her SNF song... "Waiting all day for Sunday Night", I so look forward to your Sunday night videos. Our trip to SWF has been booked! Thank you for all your wonderful knowledge and information. I have learned so much from you! Can't wait to support local small businesses in the wake of Ian. See you then! 🐚🐚🐚🐚
Another great video and awesome shells! Heading down your way after the first of the year then going to head up to see Jaime at Plum Island! Can’t wait to add to my collection!! 😊

Thank you for taking us on another awesome trip! It's not every day that one can pick up a handful of shark eyes in just a few seconds! I really want to go on a shelling tour now! Really love those live critters! I think they're so cute! Thank you for picking up trash and junks! I hope things are recovering.
Hi Sharmon! Yayyyyyyy! Another SWF video! Holy moly that sand dollar is fantastic! Wowee! ( : Wow that live lettered olive is really strange looking! ( : OMGGGGGG! ( : I was looking at the beautiful sand dollar and didn't even see the awesome spikey jewel box! Lol! ( : Love the orange-hued come! ( :
My oldest daughter and my dad had this happen to them on Anna Maria Island when she was visiting them in SWF! They almost had a heart attack! They found 60 sand dollars that day!
Now, Dickman's island was a moon snail paradise! Fantastic! ( : I love the worm snails too! They are sooo cool! ( : Yeah, a pear whelk and a paper fig too! Yesss! ( :
Today was definitely an angel wing, moon snail and worm snail day too! ( : Wow, the cockle shell was huge and a perfect shell bowl! ( : First Florida Fighting conch! Yayyyyyyy! ( :

Happy to hear the really big sand dollar, you found first, made it home in one piece! What a fantastic haul today! I really. I really loved this video today! Thanks sooo much for sharing your wonderful shelling adventure with all of us! You are definitely the Shelling Queen! No doubt about it! You rock! ( : ❤️❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗🤗
It was such a special day to be out there. Each location offered a different awesome adventure! Thanks so much for coming along!
As always, thank you for sharing the most beautiful part of Florida!💕🙏🏻💕Im continuing to pray for rebuilding and the spirits of the wonderful SWFL people.

I loved this video!!! I loved seeing the live lettered olive. So many wonderful shells!
Thank you for sharing!!!😊😊😊
Thank you for another shelling adventure..great find! And thank you for the Beach Time...Soo peaceful and calming.😊
Oh my goodness! You got a wonderful collection on this trip. The shark eyes are awesome. Love the whelks!
What an awesome shelling day you had! Thabks for taking us along.
I am loving the excitement in your voice. Happy dancing. 🎉
My aunt taught me to make these reminders of vacations past, which she called "Sea Bottles."
This is also a great way to showcase tiny shells.
Much love to all from
The Lost Mermaid 🐚🧜
Well mermaid, it sounds like you are recovering nicely, just in time for Christmas. I hope you have a lovely holiday and you're feeling stronger and better each day. Thank you for the sea bottle idea! I think I have plenty of goodies though. Some other wonderful people have donated additional goodies - I'm really excited to share!
Thank you for this. It's snowing here.
Love your videos. Thank you for giving us the names of all the shells. Maybe I can make it to Florida sometime to do some shelling.
Glad your back at it. My relaxing day on the beach even though I didn’t leave Northern Mississippi.
I really like the pear welks.
What a wonderful day for shelling and finding the big shells…Merry Christmas to you and your family 🧑🎄💕
Merry Christmas to you and your family as well Janet!
What a fabulous time! Thank you
You're very knowledgeable! I love watching your finds!
Thank you so much!
I really enjoy your excitement and laughter when so many shells find their way into your hand at one time. But I, especially, enjoy your sound effects: burluuurp! It was perfect! 😆
🤣
Love your sense of humor about removing hurricane debris. 😂That could be a sad and depressing thing, but you’re making the best of it and doing your part to help the recovery. So cool to get to visit 3 different islands, though!
There was one time when we were vacationing at Sanibel Island (1998), was a storm and the next day during a low tide there were tons of paper figs all over the beach! Amazing! Have a bunch of them in a Ball jar!
Did you get to see any live ones? They are super cool looking!
I would love that big one you put back! I personally love the big shells!
Fantastic shelling day. I love all the shells you found.
I can’t believe you passed over the hinged spiny jewel box at 27:05, when you picked up the little horse conch. Just saying! But you had some amazing finds on this trip!
Love the colors on the conch shells
We have our first ever visit planned this April. So excited to explore all the beaches!
That's awesome! I hope you have the best time ever!
Oh what fun it is to shell and continue to find shell after shell of the same kind, then another kind!!!
Wow,the giant moon snail was so cool 🎉
Wow what a fantastic shelling day…❤
Absolutely love that hinged Rose colored shell you found!
I So enjoyed the tour in Ali's Kayaks ! And look forward to booking again ! Nice time shelling on the islands ! Thanks !!
You introduced me to her! So thank YOU!!
What a great shelling day you are having
What a great 😃 end to my day! Thank you very, very much!!
What lovely beautiful shells you found my beachy friend 🧜🏼♀️
It was so fun KY Mermaid! That moon snail made me so stinking happy! I hope all is well by you and you had an awesome Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
Thank you for another great video but now I'm really jelly. Lol! Such great finds! See you next week.

What a great day you had your large shell radar on today I cant believe all those moon snails thanks for taking us with you
Awesome finds! I saw so many fun finds amongst the shell piles you visited.
As I watch the snow flurries blow by my window , your beach walk looks so inviting!Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you!! 🎄
So many lovely 🐚! It's hard to pick a favorite. I love sanddollars so that huge one would be amazing! That said, I love the horse conch, lightening whelks, apple murex , tulips, worm snails 😂🥰😍
Late to class again, slides into seat! Yep...The Chosen live stream again!
#BingeJesus 🙏💜🏝
Yet another great video! Thanks Sharmon! Have a Blessed Week! 🐚💞
I hope you have a great week too!
Fantastic shell finds there. Awesome in finding that big moon snail! Lots of moon snails, wow. 😃 How wonderful to go to three of the islands to find shells. Really a good haul of shells. 🐚🌊
So many beautiful shells!
Wow great finds Big shell
I absolutely love your channel! It’s where I come to relax.
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Your little horse conch is a "foal" conch. lol. Couldn't resist. So cute.
What do you clean your moon snail shells with?
I would only use bleach on moon snails. Here's my latest cleaning video for all my tips and tricks: ua-cam.com/video/YKnKdZE0-AM/v-deo.html
LOL!! We call them ponies 🥰
@@SWFBeachLife, I was thinking the three stages. You have a foal, then you have a pony, and then you have a horse conch. Lol.
@@debbiejones6265 😂😂😂
Yay, Awesome finds, 👍
Such a great tour, thanks for sharing 😊
Loved the live lettered olive
Great video! How fun!
All the beautiful shells ... one after the other ... they kept coming and coming. I was actually waiting for the shoe to drop ... but, it never did. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
It was SO fun being out there that day. I got lucky that we were able to go to 3 different locations!
Beautiful collection today ! ❤
Wonderful video and the most beautiful shells! Thank you!
Thankyou! Awsome shelling! Wish i was there.
Great shelling! Thanks so much!
This was amazing! Those large angel wings are just gorgeous, and I noticed the biggest one is left facing! You got some really beautiful shells today. Thank you so much! ❤️🐚
All those moon snails 😮❤️
How exciting! Three different locations in one trip!
I wish you a very Merry and Blessed Christmas. xoxoxo
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas too! 🎄
Just wanted to say
MERRY CHRISTMAS and Happy new year
From Missouri.
Keep up the great videos!!!
We are still praying for all Swf.
Thank you and happy holidays to you too!
Some great finds! Loving all of them
Wishing you a Happy Christmas and may the New Year brings you only happy times. Good luck to all of those still dealing with such hardship. we hope they receive all the help and support they need.
Wow! That was Shell Heaven. Beautiful Haul!❤
Thank you for coming to our tattered and slightly beat up part of the county. We're still beautiful and we still have the best shells in the USA!
Another great video and awesome shells! Heading down your way after the first of the year then going to head up to see Jaime at Plum Island! Can’t wait to add to my collection!! 😊
Good shelling luck to you!!
That was fun! Thank you Sharmon! That live lettered olive was fabulous and she (he, it?) managed to look insulted that you picked it up! LOL So graceful. And you are right, kind of alien too. Keep on shellin'! Love & hugs from Virginia.
So so cool! Such fantastic finds! 💜🌅🐚
Awesome, thank you so much x
