    Good review! It’s good to try Poly Tour Strike (black version) with 46 pounds. You may feel more power and the hit is more crispy. (Although I still prefer Ezone 98 with poly tour pro yellow version)😂

    Great review and comparison, thanks for that. You did put a very controlled string in those frames, so that wouldn't have helped with the power. In this frame, I'd probably go with something like a Hyper G Soft 17, which has a bit more pop than Confidential, and then drop the tension to 46M / 44C. Mid to low 40's is the way to go with those mid sized / dense string pattern racquets.

    • @tantennis
      @tantennis  Рік тому

      Thanks! I totally agree that hyper G soft should work with this frame. Unfortunately I cannot choose the setup on these rackets. Will use your suggested setup in the next review!

      @@tantennis That's just personal experience, but I use 18x20 Angell TC95 and TC97, and found the following to play best, assuming one wants to stick with poly strings:
      - thin gauge (no thicker than 1.20mm)
      - shaped strings with crosses strung 2-3lbs looser than the mains, to get more launch angle and net clearance
      - soft string to avoid the stringbed feeling like a board
      - mid to low 40's to help with the power

    How is the power compared to the Blade V8 16x19? I played around with a Blade yesterday, but I felt that it had little power and little stability compared to my Prince.

    • @tantennis
      @tantennis  Рік тому +1

      I think it’s more demanding than my Blade v8 16x19. Partially could be because of the string setup that some people say it’s too dead.

    will you do a comparison with the 98? I'm playing with the 2021 VC95. Previously I'd found the VC98 too stiff in the last generation, but I've heard they've brought that down this time.

    You put one of the deadest strings on a 95 and then complain about no power....one string doesn't fit all rackets....vcore 95 is string sensitive....soft power poly works best

    • @tantennis
      @tantennis  Рік тому +1

      Yes I agree. Confidential is definitely not the best setup for the Vcore 95.

    • @joycheng658

      @@tantennis I think you did the right thing on using the same string and tension for all of them. Tennis players should know that it is only for reference and each racket will behave differently with sting changes. That's how you make a fair assessment, take out as much variables as you can. Maybe as a side note in your future review, give some info on best strings that'll work for the racquet? Really good review though and keep it coming.

      @@joycheng658 Thanks! That’s what I tried to do. Actually the rackets in this video are not mine, so there are limits in choosing strings (it already came with these setup). So I cannot test it with other strings as I have to send them back to the owner.

      I understand you. I used vcore 98 2018 for a while and it is so muted. I think the 2023 version has improved feel than previous version, and 95 has better feel than 98, but still in vcore universe.

    Is the sweet spot bigger compared with the pure aero vs? How do they compare in spin and comfort?

    • @tantennis

    Can you hit flat with this racquet? How about touch shots? And, can a 4.0 player use this racquet..

    • @tantennis
      @tantennis  Рік тому +1

      Yes this racket can hit flat pretty well. I think the low flex and dense string pattern helps with that. I don’t think the 95 is very spinny anyway. No issues on touch shots so far.
      Can 4.0 player use this racket. Yes, you may find it underpower and hard to hit with. To be optimistic, it could help you improve the fundamentals. But can 4.0 pull off full potential on it when playing a match. Probably not.

    How does to compare the Wilson Pro Staff 97 (315g) with this new Yonex Vcore 95?

    • @tantennis
      @tantennis  Рік тому +1

      Yonex Vcore 95 is more plush and comfortable. More spin generation. PS97 gives more raw and direct feel, and I think it has more power. Both of them are control oriented but I think PS97 is more precise with the feel.

      @@tantennis I loved the feel of the ps. she is a solid racket. It's very accurate, good spin, but underpowered for someone who attacks all the time. what do you suggest to increase her power?

    • @tantennis
      @tantennis  Рік тому +1

      @@ers87 I love the feel on the pro staff too. What I did is add some lead to increase SW and probably use string that enhance the power. However, I gave up and go to Blade 98 in the end as it’s still a bit too demanding.

    Hello how can you compare this with Prostaff 97 315gr V13? I am using that one and considering to move to this one... I have a forehand with tons of spin, flat and slice serve... My backhand (one hander) is a bit more flat than my forehand but not flat. I hit a lot of slice on backhand side. I am looking to have better feel, more soft, but without losing control.

    • @tantennis
      @tantennis  Рік тому

      Hi, I think if you looking for better feel, Vcore is definitely not the answer, unless you like Yonex muted feel. Try the PS97 v14. It’s like 15% softer, a bit better feel, and you get all pretty much the same. Cheers!
