Depending solely on physical expressions and loud sounds - doesn’t make things funny. Maybe if you’re kid and still developing language skills it would be. This guy must be the most annoying person to run into on your lunch break. *nightmare unlocked*
When he's laughing at people "how are you so scared all the time, when you're in a car by yourself?" and he's *SO CLOSE* to putting the finger on how conservatism keeps him in a mental prison of PERPETUAL FEAR OF THE OTHER, but never quite getting there.
get it? it's funny because he puts on a silly voice and makes dumb facial expressions while repeating the opponents arguments to make them seem stupid, but deep down he knows that they're right which is why he has to go to such lengths to mock them
true. i’m really hoping a lot of those are either “too drunk to know what’s going on” laughs or “if i laugh maybe he won’t double down and will leave the stage faster” laughs but some of the laughter sounded unnervingly genuine
Doing the over the top "I'm TaLkIng lIkE ThIS tO mOcK yOu!" is the cringiest thing ever, and people that do it think they are funnier if they do it even louder and more exaggerated. If it annoys you (it will, it's an adult using their adult lungs to sound like a very loud child) they think it means it worked and you're offended.
He's definetley the type of guy to be standing behind you in a grocery store and start a very unwanted small talk about the food you have picked. Probably leading it into some story about his ex wife.... I've met too many people like him to see the clear signs of the wild and uncontainable 'Rejected Uncle'.
Continues to be my favourite conservative comedy bit. They’re getting scarily good at comedy, I could never come up with something like “one mask TWO MASK!”
the point you've made about comedians becoming radicalized in order to succeed is extremely accurate. they realize they lack the talent to come up with nuanced, intricate jokes, so they turn to conservative audiences, who consider saying offensive shit for shock value is PEAK comedy.
That's why people say if you want to get rich, be a conservative taking point grifter. Just say the most outrageous, closed minded crap and they'll eat it up like a marshmallow salad.
What's been weird to watch is that often there isn't even anything funny behind the offensive comments anymore; the fact that someone might be offended or 'triggered' by it is, in itself, the punchline. A bunch of Crowder's comedy falls into the same category - half the comments are just offensive and get zero audience laughs; it isn't until he points out that someone probably doesn't like him saying such things that the audience seems to react. It's surreal, and I really want to know what's going on at a psychological level, or why such comedy sets seem to have changed from a sociological perspective.
Or they keep calling themselves liberals or leftists and use that as a "and even I agree with this" act. Right wingers still love to use Bill Maher and Tim Pool as proof for their ideaology with the "even these leftists see how true this is" act. Hey everyone, Joe Rogan is totally still left leaning because he's in favor of psychedelics, he's just super open minded to alt right propoganda and gets really offended by progressivism. He's totally centrist.
@@bucketonfoot If you mean Rogan, probably to a point. He's obviously a fascist apologist, but I'm still not entirely sure if he's a fascist who is manipulative and playing dumb or of he's actually dumb and being manipulated into pushing and accepting fascist ideaology. I know Duncan Trussel was going in that direction for a bit (he had peterson on his podcast) and it seems like he suddenly backed way off of it kind of quickly, seemingly after some people started explaining their issues with Peterson specifically. He also seemed to be pretty open minded and already very pro trans so he kind of politely pushed back when Peterson tried to push his "pronouns" fear mongering. Then again, I think Duncan Trussel is actually intelligent but open minded to the point of being sometimes easy to manipulate. Rogan just seems like an idiot who's been fully indoctrinated.
he reminds me of my aunt. she decided that she knew better than my doctors when it came to the medical leave i was supposed to take and repeatedly insulted me for (trying i spite of her) to take it and harrassed me to ignore all medical advice i got from professionals despite knowing that i am chronically ill because she decided i needed to work 24/7 all year round to be worthy of human decency :) basically, he sounds like he abuses people who just want to stay safe and healthy lol edit:she too was an alcoholic. would be a good bit into her daily drinking whenever she decided that i needed verbal abuse for minding my own business and trying to stay safe like my doctor(s) told me to
My grandmother ignored my jaw pain for years until I finally saw a TMJ expert and they told me I had some of the worst pain they’d ever seen in a child. She then proceeded to take me to a chiropractor who prescribed me 10 “mineral pills” per day to fix my “spinal energy” before he could begin to fix my jaw. My grandmother is also an alcoholic lol
Ah yes, mocking people w disabilities is so ✨funny✨. I have spent my whole life around both physically & mentally disabled individuals. They are the most innocent human beings & nothing infuriates me more than someone who thinks it’s funny to mock their voices. Heck you Jim lmao
I always hated how triggered these people got by others wearing masks in their car. I often did this in 2020 bc I'd be like "ok, today I gotta go to the gas station, then the bank, then the laundromat, then the grocery store," and like it's just easier to leave the mask on rather than putting it on and taking it back off and putting it on and taking it back off. Like, isn't that a nuisance? Constantly switching from mask on to mask off?
I vaguely remember, during the NBA draft one year while the pandemic was still at its peak, a team executive getting made fun of online for wearing a mask despite seeming to be the only person in the room. He later explained it saying there was a guy there with him off-camera. But it kind of pissed me off that he had to explain himself in the first place. I mean, how is it anybody else's problem if he chooses to wear a mask when he's (seemingly) all alone? How does it affect them? He's comfortable, leave him alone.
Love the "Abolish ICE" shirt but I also love how for a good bit of the video the only thing you can read is the word "Abolish" Which, I mean, wholeheartedly agree
Hey man…first off I found you’re channel and digging your videos. Jim Breuer has been a clown for years and it’s sad he’s gone the radicalized trump, Scott Baio, Kid Rock route. honestly i don't believe this is a comedy bit as much as it is a drunken panic attack. like legitimately it feels like the dude isn't even in the right train of thought. right-wing, sure, but definitely not right. in a way i almost want to pity him until i realize he's just spewing the same words as most conservatives do. sad.
It's so weird to me because maybe like, 10 or less years ago he wasn't like this at all. His jokes were very calm and self-aware, with very little actual real world implications to what he's saying. Seeing him shriek and prance about like a pompous douche is so surreal to me.
@@16driver16 I mean I guess, but my point was that this act of his is extremely out of character for him. Don't get me wrong, he wasn't writing the best comedy ever seen, but I certainly didn't complain when his shows came up on Comedy Central.

People aren't so scared that they wear their mask alone, they forget that they're wearing it and continue to wear it--because it's not that much of an imposition once you get used to it. I just forget to take it off once I've worn it all day at work.
I was gonna say, it could have also been like if you're forgetful and don't WANT to forget to bring it with you or put it on where you get to your destination.
@@grosebud4721 Exactly. And the anti-maskers were so consumed with anti-maskness and eager to deride, that they didn't even attempt to consider charitable explanations. Imagine seriously mocking someone for wearing ear plugs or safety glasses before or after work. I put mine on in the car because I don't want to stand in front of the door doing it, and I sometimes forget to remove them after work because I just spent ten hours with them on/in.
That part where he's blowing a raspberry in between every word just reminds me of that clip from Spongebob where the guy says "I can't *raspberry* understand *raspberry* your accent *raspberry*"
His safari bit literally sounded like a dinner conversation. Just because a few of your old relatives think you're hilarious doesn't mean you need to become a stand-up comedian😭☠️
Comedy is subjective but when you literally don't have a joke you're not funny. Joking about covid was never funny when it came to issues killing people.
I swear anyone that yells "i know my body" when talking about vaccine usually are the same ones who talk about alternative ways to treat or avoid covid
This guy reminds me of this one dude in an improv class I was in when I was 13 that ONLY did golem impressions. When he had to do a different character, they just also happened to sound like golem.
when i read this i was thinking of those like. clockwork golems from wizard101 that were like… wind-up automatons that didn’t speak or make sounds they just were robots made of gears & wood and for a second i was just trying to figure out how someone could so specifically imitate something that doesn’t talk or make much sound in every impression bc honestly it sounded kinda impressive and then i realized OH. lord of the rings. i am a dumbass

"Jim won't go to places the require vaccines" hallelujah, also I don't think that's a boycott you just can't go into the place for the safety of their customers
As a teenage comedy nerd in the 90s I saw a lot of Jim Breuer stand up on Comedy Central in his prime. I knew he sucked when I was 14 and he's only gotten worse since then. The pinnacle of his career were the "Goat Boy" skits on SNL which were painfully repetitive and unimaginative even by 90s SNL standards. They're incredibly hard to find on the internet, but if you do find them, you'll regret the time you spent looking.
has he ever seen a vaccinated person? idk about him but all the vaccinated people i know are still super careful about covid and they would not “lick some metal” all the vaccinated people i know are way more careful than the unvaccinated people i know
“trUsT tHe ScIeNCe!!!!!” Ok Jim, I will refuse to trust trained professionals. Instead, I will receive my opinions from the man screeching bird noises and farting into a microphone. “Six foot safe! Five foot danger!!!!” Yes, Jim, that is how distances work. Good on you for figuring out the concept of physical space. Maybe at this rate you can advance past the mental capacity of a two-year-old.
This is the type of "comedian" who genuinely thought he was funny because he was met with constant praise by friends and family in his formative years and thought it would be like that in the real world. When he was met with backlash early on, he refused to become aware of what could potentially make him a better entertainer if he was willing to learn from a single criticism and instead chose to believe that his brand of entertainment was superior - meaning the people in opposition to him must be the ones who don't understand what good comedy really is.
@@SchlaftaterNrzZz In the world of entertainment, changing your style for the better over time is crucial. If the funniest thing you point to from this "comedian" is a scene from a movie that came out in 1998, you proved my original point - this man is disgruntled with the idea of changing to be a better comic.
@@sawyerblossom7244 Yeah, you sound like you don’t have any clue who Jim Breuer is or what he’s accomplished. I think his anti vac stance is ridiculous so I’m technically on your side. Just say you don’t think he’s funny and move on. No need for a psychological evaluation.
@@spadedonemcdysentery2493 I know he did SNL, was on Home Improvement, and was in probably the most memorable scene in Half Baked. That was all 20 years ago, when he was mostly.in his 20's. I admit I'm not an avid fan of his work, but that's because I don't think his work is very good - or really ever was for the most part. He's a mostly physical comedian, meaning a lot of the original funny from a sketch or scene comes from another actor and he amplifies the funny. However, Jim has always done little to be the origin of the joke in his comedy, and he clearly hasn't changed that much. I understand that I'm being speculative when I make my original statement; the reason I'm saying it with such confidence is because I work in entertainment, and I see this guy a lot in other people constantly. "People used to laugh. Why aren't they laughing." leads a lot of entertainers to say "It's not because I need to change as an entertainer. It's because people need to get entertained by what they used to again."
@@sawyerblossom7244 That’s a lot of words to say you don’t find him funny and only know a few things he’s ever worked on. Which is fine. Totally fine. Keep on keepin on.
Medical professionals do (on occasion) talk about actual “toxins”, but they’re generally talking about, like, botulinum toxin or ricin. And you know what helps protect against (some) toxins? Vaccines! The Tdap shot literally contains inactivated versions of the TOXINS involved in tetanus and diphtheria.
only like 30 secs in but i gotta say you've got good vibes. i feel like if you and i bumped into each other on the way in and out of a grocery store and i accidentally made you drop a paper bag full of oranges and one baguette like in the movies you'd be like "aw no worries man", y'know? subscribed homie keep it up
Comments like that are very cringe. “We would be such good friends” I see these comments on like every popular UA-camrs videos. Just weird homie, neither of you know each other at all lol. Why do I care? Idk there’s some lonely people on here
So basically there was a point in the late 1990's where Jim Breuer was huge. He was a featured cast member on SNL, he had his own show on MTV, was selling out his entire tour and had a co-starring film in the film Half-Baked. Then one thing happened and it was over: he got fired by Lorne Michaels from SNL for doing his own MTV show without Michaels blessing. At that point if you worked for SNL part of the deal was that if you did a side gig then Lorne Michaels had to give you his okay as he basically controlled the SNL brand and didnt want his actors doing just anything for a buck (as well as wanting to see if he wanted to slap his name on the project for an extra buck). And like that he got fired during the summer of 97 or 98. He no longer could headline a club with "SNL Star: Jim Breuer" and his standup act went down the toilet. He never became friends with any of his SNL co-stars so he never got a chance to get a co-star role on a Will Farrell film. Dane Cook basically cribbed his entire stage persona and became the biggest comedy star of the mid to late 2000's. He got to star in about a dozen big budget studio comedies. Jim Breuer couldnt even get a guest spot on any network show. So yeah, Breuer is a bitter guy 24 years later. The fact that he had to pull a publicity stunt to get back into the news is all you really need to know about his career, a career that you probably will never hear from again.
Good on Ethan for not trashing the video, but he better than me fr- The gritty army font subtitles, the fact he fucks up what he said in them a few times, the fact he just walks off camera for multiple seconds, the single lone fucking Windows Movie Maker transition for no reason, it's all gold.
Sadly I am old enough to remember when he was sorta funny...this fall down the rabbit hole made me sad. I know that the "brand" in the 90s and early 2000s was being "edgy" but sadly a lot of these guys never grew. Fun Fact: Dave Chappelle and Jim Breuer where in Half Baked together.I used to enjoy that movie, now I cringe, just thinking about it.
Holy shit! This guy was the hippie in half baked! I didn't realize that until you said it. I loved that movie and now I feel sad about how downhill he's gone.

Depending solely on physical expressions and loud sounds - doesn’t make things funny. Maybe if you’re kid and still developing language skills it would be. This guy must be the most annoying person to run into on your lunch break. *nightmare unlocked*
When he's laughing at people "how are you so scared all the time, when you're in a car by yourself?" and he's *SO CLOSE* to putting the finger on how conservatism keeps him in a mental prison of PERPETUAL FEAR OF THE OTHER, but never quite getting there.
the equivalent of memes for middle schoolers that are just loud noises
get it? it's funny because he puts on a silly voice and makes dumb facial expressions while repeating the opponents arguments to make them seem stupid, but deep down he knows that they're right which is why he has to go to such lengths to mock them
Amen
Like he is the parakeet. The lack of awareness for his projections is insane
I think the most troubling thing about this is that the audience is actually laughing along..
true. i’m really hoping a lot of those are either “too drunk to know what’s going on” laughs or “if i laugh maybe he won’t double down and will leave the stage faster” laughs but some of the laughter sounded unnervingly genuine
He sounds like a divorced dad that stole his kid's Adderall and decided to yell at a service worker.
I am a biologist and anti-science comedy usually makes me mad but this one just broke me...the cringe was real
I feel sorry for Jim's microphone. Hope he brought it from home or the venue lit it on fire. Great job Ethan 👏

Continues to be my favourite conservative comedy bit. They’re getting scarily good at comedy, I could never come up with something like “one mask TWO MASK!”
one mask two mask is my favorite anime
My favorite Dr Suess book, One Mask Two Mask Red Mask Blue Mask
the point you've made about comedians becoming radicalized in order to succeed is extremely accurate. they realize they lack the talent to come up with nuanced, intricate jokes, so they turn to conservative audiences, who consider saying offensive shit for shock value is PEAK comedy.
@@DriscolDevil Not even a centrist, just a fascist/republican sayin he’s a leftist.

Or you just forget 😂 I forgot though, people like this guy are perfect and make no mistakes ever.

People aren't so scared that they wear their mask alone, they forget that they're wearing it and continue to wear it--because it's not that much of an imposition once you get used to it. I just forget to take it off once I've worn it all day at work.

The way hes holding his mic, smacking and breathing on it, it actually could feed through the system and ruin the speakers.

It's because people need to get entertained by what they used to again."

i get the feeling his parents never let him on the internet as a kid, and then he finally opened youtube and only watched ben shapiro
Yeah his parents probably should have let him on the internet more back in the 1970's.
