The problem with conservative comedians is that they get too mad before they can set up a joke

Love the video! Want to say Scentbird though is extremely predatory and definitely not hassle-free to cancel. I never got my first order and they already were charging me for my second, which they would not let me cancel and refund before it shipped. You CANNOT cancel your subscription on their website (unless you live in California where what they do is illegal I am pretty sure?), you have to email their customer support and it literally gets ignored. They are NOT BBB accredited with a 1.1/5 rating which is pretty dang bad.
Again, love the videos and I am a huge fan. I would be cautious to order from Scentbird though.

My dad still watches it. And also watches the five.
Maybe that's the appeal, like how people sometimes watch videos of other people being cringy, or enjoy outrageously bad movies.
Or maybe its to make them feel better about themselves, like "hey I must be pretty funny if that's the degree of humour it takes to be considered a comedian".

As a transgender person, I hate having to skip over so many videos and parts of videos because I don't want to hear any more transphobia than I experience on a day-to-day basis. I feel like I used to watch every video before transphobia became more trendy, but now I just can't. It's sad. I'm glad that somebody is talking about it of course. It's just strange that some people are so obsessed with my gender that they throw fits about it saying that people like me are obsessed with gender 😂😂

I am also trans and it's genuinely so obnoxious. I hate having to stay in the closet for like half of the people (my friends families) I know, and the other half (my friends) are really supportive. It's so hurtful to come home to hear my dad listen to podcasts that say how disgusting and stupid trans people are, that they're groomers and pedophiles while I slink off to my room (I'm 18, can't move out cause I'm strapped for cash and in college). My trans friend lives with his dad and they constantly and aggressively misgender him; and have been doing so for about five years. When my boyfriend called me his 'partner' at a party my friends transphobic dad got super pissed and was like "YOUR GIRLFRIEND, I HATE when people say partner", every time the dad calls me 'girl' I feel like I'm getting stabbed with glass or something lmao. The same thing with everyone else, it's genuinely so painful when people associate me with feminine pronouns and attributes, they put me in this little box I don't want to be in. Even my boyfriend who is bi gets attacked for liking men; my dad saw a picture of him and questioned why he was so gay, he said he was 'faking his sexuality', and that it wasn't right that he was that way because he's supposed to be a 'tough carpenter' and a 'man'.
Everyday I feel more and more threatened by my family, it's just sad because I've been dealing with gender dysphoria all my life since I was about five. I'm still confused on whether I want to be a trans man or nonbinary; I think I would like being nonbinary as I think both genders are incredibly sexy more but most people don't take that seriously. I've been on my journey for about six months and I feel really liberated and like who I've always wanted to be, but also confused and wished I knew more people to give me advice. It's so hard man...being trans shouldn't be political. I think it's really messed up how questioning your gender and sexuality is so taboo; I hope one day it is encouraged to question these things because questioning leads to understanding yourself better than most people realize.

The studio audience amplifies the cringe to a ridiculous degree. For comedic or live television, studio audiences are the lifeblood of the show. If your audience isn't engaged, or you can hear pins drop, you have carte blanche to cultivate an audience that at least *sounds* engaged. The sets of all those old school live studio sitcoms had APPLAUSE and LAUGH signs; there was always a producer or director that engaged everyone about their task as an audience both before and during filming (audience coaches?); oftentimes tickets to filming were absolutely free, ensuring that every person who filled a seat really wanted to be there.
Gutfeld's team could do those things. Easily, and in the process make his show infinitely better. Why they don't, I do not know. I imagine they're either absolute control freaks, or they're attempting to be "real." Probably both.

The most telling fact about Gutfeld's show is that, except for his non-political content, even his own fans don't laugh at his jokes. Instead, they just sneer like a bunch of bully stereotypes from an '80s teen comedy: "Oh yeah, yeah, he's really sticking it to those libs!" It's the same sensation of twisted relief you get when you learn that you're not the only one out there who hates something, so now you feel you're free to complain about and mock it. We've all been there, but most of us try to break out of that "anger porn" mindset after we've turned 18.
But now it's their culture. Scrolling the comments of the Lady Ballers trailer is so funny to me. They're like high school bullies who never found something to love in life.

Apparently it was originally going to be a documentary, but they had to scrap that idea because, uhh, it turns out no one is actually cross-dressing in order to win women's basketball tournaments. Also, the whole plot of the movie sounds like it could have been a B-movie comedy from 2009 starring, like, Jonah Hill or something, but it's a completely serious movie because that's what they actually think transgender people in sports are and not just... you know, transgender people playing sports.

There's dispute around this, as it is a one-source type of deal, but he apparently compared the Clinton daughters to dogs back then (which isn't necessarily the same as using it to call Hillary a b*tch, but still close enough to feel like he heard that joke and decided "My comedic stylings now!").

ethan used the suicide of Daniel Kyre to hurt Daniel’s close friends (ethan never knew Daniel). ethan said Daniel’s friends called him a coward (without any proof). Ethan didn’t know at the time that one of those friends was the person who found Daniel after his successful suicide attempt.
it’s actually really disgusting. ethan deleted the livestream because he’s embarrassed of how bad that stream looks for him and doesn’t want the majority of his audience seeing it.
he was asked to take accountability for using Daniel’s memory disrespectfully and after 2 months has yet to do so.

Something that I've started to gather from watching other people like Dead Domain cover Conservative comedy is that it doesn't matter what the joke is. All it has to be is a list of keywords that the audience agrees with. That's why at the end of the monologue or a stand up set that you'll hear now people laughing at the jokes, but when it ends they'll still laugh and go crazy after cause they heard all the right buzzwords and opinions they agree with
Doesn't Breadtube do that also? Not necessarily with comedy specials but most Breadtube videos just spout buzzwords and concepts that they know will get the audience riled up against conservatives. And all the jokes that those creators make are aimed to get people to be like "LOL conservatives are dumb". Its the opposite side of the same coin.

Unlike buzzwords Conservatives use like woke, the radical left, ANTIFA, indoctrination which are meant to be vague and mean whatever the viewer wants it to mean for the sole purpose of getting them riled up.

Greg Gutfeld is literally the reason that I stopped going to see my mother. I had asked her very nicely that if she absolutely had to watch Fox news or any of their garbage programming, that she do it in her bedroom on her TV in there or while she was out smoking on her tablet. I told her obviously, it's your house, so you can choose to do whatever you like, but I don't feel like it's super appropriate for Maddie(my then 4yo daughter) to be hearing some of the things that they say on those programs and it would just make both of us more comfortable if you could hold off for the two days that we are at your house. She agreed, and said she understood and wanted to avoid politics anyway...
I woke up after spending our first night there, loudly and suddenly jarred from sleep by Greg's whining rasp, as she had turned on her recording of Greg and Friends. They were going around the table making transphobic jokes about the WNBA and I asked my mother very politely if she could either turn down the volume or watch it in her room because it was making me uncomfortable. She proceeded to roll her eyes at me, and says, "oh my GOD it's FUNNY. It's nothing BAD. Good on you for trying to keep that away from your daughter. I grew up in a Fox News house and it helped lead me to have harmful views as a teen that I look back on with disgust now as an adult. I also don't see one of my parents anymore, offensive politics one of many reasons.
@emilyb.8219 I tell my little girl all the time that above all, it's very important to always be kind and it's going to be really hard to convince her of that if she is seeing programming and hearing things come out of her Grandma's mouth that contradict that. One of the other reasons she and I no longer speak is primarily because I really don't like the way she talks about/to herself and the way she projects her self-esteem issues on to everyone around her. I've worked really hard to make sure that I do not engage in negative self-talk at all, especially around my daughter, because I realized that my mother doing that is what gave me the blueprints on how to hate myself. Having a child of my own has made me realize how much damage my mother and other family really did to me that I did not realize until now. I'm working to take responsibility of what I can and unlearning all of the bad parenting and emotional behaviors so that I don't set my daughter up for failure. I feel like a continued relationship with my mom would result in backsliding and mixed messages and frankly, my daughter is emotional well-being matters more to me than a tenuous, fraught relationship where I was the parent more often than not anyway. I'm glad to see that you were able to find the courage and strength to break away from your family's toxicity as well, and really hope that you've been able to achieve peace and healing. a lot of people want ethan to address and acknowledge that using a victim of suicide and another person’s trauma as an “own” is gross and wrong. ethan seems to be ignoring this hoping it’ll blow over.
I don't watch his stuff regularly and this makes it that much easier to support lesser known creators of color who aren't nearly as problematic lol

Ok can someone please tell me what Supermega is and why everyone is commenting it?
Basically Ethan and his girlfriend Lex coordinated with a bunch of people to cancel SuperMega by using Lex's SA story (where the guy that allegedly did it was an employee not even SuperMega themselves). They used it to attack SuperMega, blatantly lie about them and at one point, even brought up one of their friends who took his own life and used it against them. There was even a livestream where Ethan and Lex smoked and celebrated SuperMega losing subscribers by showing their live sub count and mocking them. Eventually SuperMega responded and other creators like TurkeyTom dissected the allegations and proved that not only did they lie about a bunch of stuff, they 100% planned this to ruin SuperMega. When the group started getting backlash, both Ethan and Lex threw Nick (a guy with 700k subs who they asked to make a video about SM in the first place) completely under the bus to cover themselves. Ethan's also been attacking anyone who criticizes him on Twitter. Long story short, he used his girlfriend's SA and his friend's platform to ruin SuperMega, then cowardly hid and pointed fingers when they started getting the same treatment they caused SuperMega. That's the short version.

The reason Gutfeld is the highest rates late night show is because the fan base isn't fractured. So if conservatives want conservative comedy... They don't have many options.
