Beat me to it. :-D
@Chairman of the Board Wrong. I'm not a native speaker of English but I do know this.
"Whom" is never the subject (only object), but "who" can be the subject. And the sentence "who ever lived" has "who" as subject. "I know someone who can help." Answer: he (the "who" who can help). "Whom have you called?" Answer: him (the "whom" who was called).
Look it up in a reputable source if you don't believe me. :-)
Indeed. Rest well, Neal.
Keith moon is right there. Neil's hero as well as us other drummers.
No that’s buddy rich but Neil is good
I’m Black and I think RUSH has produced some of the BEST music ever made. Niggas used to laugh at me. Who laughin now?
I have had several black friends throughout my life that I introduced to RUSH. I get a kick out watching their faces go from "Here goes this white boy again with his Rock & Roll" to their head starts bobbing and by the end of the song they are hooked and want to hear more.

“What is that noise?”
It is the sound of three musicians who are about to rock your world
" the singers voice is an instrument" i always thought that. Best review ever. And the song is decades old and so was the technology.
And the singer's other two instruments are bass and keyboards - and frequently, he's playing all three at once...
@@DeaconBlues117 that's good ol' Canadian talent 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦😎😎😎😎
Many casual fans of Rush often overlook Geddy Lee. The hardcore fans of Rush and of good rock music understand his musical ability is second to none.
"I can't believe that's 3 guys" Actually Geddy is equivalent to about 3 guys with his badass bass, multiple keyboards and 3 octaves vocals.
Geddy's backstory for starting the band is incredible as well. His father who survived the Holocaust passed away when Geddy was young and his mom who also survived the concentration camps had to work very hard to raise her family.
Geddy started a band in their basement and dropped out of school as they got some local notice. Not wanting to disappoint his mother who had been through so much he worked extremely hard to prove to her his rock career was going to be successful.
Canada can be very honored to have such welcoming arms to so many survivors of horrors of evil men from around the world.
Vocals have always been a major part of “instrumentation”. You can sing insanely but it always is another part of the piece. Geddy’s voice is so perfect because it was so outlandish for a rock singer to sing in that register he did, it was almost an alto when most rock singers were in the standard tenor range, he really made his voice a standard in rock and it adds so much to the music.
The drummer is Neil Peart... and he is the best drummer ever...FYI. His reaction makes me wish I could listen to Rush for the first time again...
Not the best, but he's up there

With music being so disposable, and skippable these days, this reminds us that sometimes discovering music can be pretty magical if you just sit back and listen to a complete song, and take it all in.
helps a lot when the song is a fuckin' banger as well ;)
Re skippable, my kids think I'm an old fart cos I go on about album structures, if I listen to anything old, I can tell when something is the end of a side A, its a lost album art. Everything's is just single releases now
... that's why ALBUMS were AWESOME....NO SKIPPING...YOU LISTENED TO THE WHOLE THING.
The musicians produced their albums to have a constant flow
Every "house band" in Canada just had a shit at the thought of picking an "easy" Rush song to try and play in tribute of the passing of Neil Peart this week....
RIP Neil Peart
Played bass/sang in a cover band for a bit. People would ask if we'd cover Rush (this was before Neil passed), and I'd always say I'd have to let our drummer have the last word on that one. He said "maybe Working Man. Maybe."
Unmatchable group. Everything they played was theirs completely. Still hurts.
Neil Peart is the drummer he's kick ass you should watch some live videos to see his 360 degree drumset
His solo from R30 is one of his best. The solo from Exit Stage Left is awesome too but I don't think there is video to go with it.

“Why do my face hurt?!”
Classic. This review from start to finish is hilarious. Thanks, Shaq!
Why? Because Alex is melting it off, that's why!
Neil Peart died today. No joke. Thank you for appreciating his amazing talent, and the talents of Alex Lifeson, and Getty Lee.
I haven't seen anyone else mention it so: this song was written as a tribute to the Toronto radio station CFNY 102.1 FM. It was one of the very first 'alternative' stations, started in the 1970s. They began to call themselves "The Spirit of Radio" and were one of the first radio stations to play Rush. In return, Rush wrote this song for them, and made sure the catalog number for the 'Permanent Waves' album was 1021.
Sadly, CFNY is now 102.1, "The Edge", and plays the same 'alternative' music (Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Foo Fighters) that everyone else plays. But longtime Toronto radio listeners will remember when CFNY was FuNnY radio, and played stuff no one else had the guts to play.
The drummer....Peart. The G.O.A.T.
Guitar.....Alex Lifeson (most underrated player EVER).
And Geddy Lee....best Bassist in progressive rock. Great vid!
Geddy also did vocals...
And in some songs live Geddy is playing keyboards, singing and rockin the bass pedals ... all at the same time. ;)
All three are absolute masters of their craft!
Geddy is awesome, but man, I'd have to go with Chris Squire. Just listen to Yes' Fragile.

"that emotional rollercoaster" you are riding...I wish I could relive it again for the first time.
Listen to the song again. Visualize a radio dial and clicking on stations. Rock, Reggae (the Hawaiian music), and talk....Now read the lyrics "Glittering prizes and endless compromises, shatter the illusion of integrity" and realize that what you have just heard from three of the greatest MUSICIANS off all time and a poet writing lyrics, is that you are now viewing life THROUGH them. And that, my friend, is art.
"I don't know if I should hula-hoop or throw a brick at your Mama"

Excellent observation!
RUSH was the greatest rock band ever.
"Shatters the illusion of integrity"!!! The musicianship is amazing.....but the lyrics are even better!
And the ending, both dealing with the realities of rock music and its history (referencing back to Simon & Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence", with its own lines, "And the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls/And tenement halls/And echo in the sounds of silence").
Early Rush ain't your normal "metal" band - They're one of the best progressive bands that love to "mix it up".

We will never again be able to hear Rush for the first time. But to be able to watch people experience them for their first time is priceless! Thank you and all future first-timers ~
Yes my friend, this is what real musicianship with real instruments sounds like. Not shallow computer generated, autotuned, mono toned garbage that the masses have been spoon fed for the past 20 years. Consummate professionals with real talent playing their instruments. Writing songs with intelligence rather than Producer controlled algorithm driven agendas to mass produce the same thing over and over just to make a buck.

@@MaddogJones Man, I'm telling you. IMO that album is the best of their's with Number of the Beast a close second. I was 18 and heading off to college in 83. What a time of life - 100% agree, man.
@@gnpahdc One of the greatest mysteries in heavy metal to me is why Nicko refuses to play double bass? His single bass work puts most double bass player to shame, could you imagine Trooper played by him with a second bass bass. It's like people who play only match grip or traditional with their sticks. I've learned both and to play right and left handed. And bass player only either finger playing or only using a pick. They just seem to be limiting themselves.

La Villa Strangulation and 2112 side A too!
1st, RUSH is Canadian, & we could not be more proud of how they represented us, 2nd, they were brilliant musicians & all could play more than 3 instruments, & only needed 3 of them to sound like a band of 5, and lastly, once you hear them, you are never the same, & now, you are one of us !!! LOL 😊 Oh ya, one of the reasons there were so many transitions in this particular song, is because RUSH, wanted to give the listeners the feeling of changing the channel on the radio!!!
Hands down the most talent put in one band. Each one of them is the best you will get. Seen them 14 times starting with Grace Under Pressure and always better than the concert before. Always progressing and perfecting.
Waaaaaay back in the 70's when I was a teenager me and the boys would hit the Rush concert every time they were in town. After smoking some of them "left handed" cigarettes (as my father called them) the music would entrance me! I remember it like it was yesterday. Their music, even sober, is still mesmerizing.
I love how these rap guys pick up on fine points of the beats and instrumentation that most of us would miss. Great job.
I needed to experience someone reveling in the amazement of hearing Rush for the first time. The more you listen the more you want to listen, and the more you listen the more everything in the music makes sense. At first you're blown away by the complexity, then you start to peel back layers and identify discrete elements - and you're blown away all over again.
