How could three people put out that much quality sound it was just amazing to me. Stage presence for each was amazing.
Yeah, I remember when it came out and our local rock station played Spirit. It was highly anticipated in my town, San Antonio TEXAS one of RUSH’s favorite cities. Not a brag the band said as much. We were one of the first people to hear them when they first came out because of a good DJ we had. They came here on 99% of their tours and sometimes stayed a little longer to hangout here. Neil would ride his bike through the hill country and they would get a local go kart type track to open for them after hours so they could zip around. Early, early on the first tour they played a redneck bar here called Randy’s Rodeo! Ha ha! The story is legendary now. Geddy mentioned it last time I saw them. Anyway the radio station premiered it before school one day and my and all my friends at school were, did you hear it yet? Did you hear the new RUSH. We said we are going to that concert for sure! 18 times live for me! ROCK PRIVILEGE!! Peace, Phil

I remember being kind of ticked off when the SARS show took place, because Rush was (as I recall) 3rd to last, IN THEIR HOMETOWN! The closers were AC/DC and The Rolling Stones. I can see the Stones being the headliner, but I could never get my head around AC/DC being ahead of Rush in that lineup. My memory is that Justin Timberlake got booed off the stage there by the way. It was a shame for him, really, but that crowd was not looking for his kind of music.

If you want to deep dive into Rush, you should go way back in time! RIP Neil Peart. The Professor on the drum kit.
Takes me back to that Wednesday. My buddy and I phoned in sick for work and went to this show SARSFest... a bunch of bands including Flaming Lips, Justin Timberlake, Sass Jordan, the Guess Who, Rush, ACDC and Rolling Stones. Tickets were $19.99!!! A perfect summer day!!

He will never say that I am looking at a device and not interacting with him. Any other way is a diminished quality of life in real time, in my opinion. The devices can wait for late at night before sleep or when my grandchild is napping. It cracks me up when I see two young gals "taking a walk together" but they both carry phones in their hands and their heads are bowed to it. Bowed is an operative word. I WILL NOT BOW TO MY DEVICE. He feeds into a pre-amp and that feeds to the venues PA system. So to fill the empty space where his amps would have been they started with washing machines and went from there. I believe this was the concert at Downsview Park in Toronto, Canada for the SARS epidemic. The Rolling Stones were the headliner ( hence the Stones riff for their intro). AC/DC played right before the Stones. One helluva concert.
I watched this again... if only you knew all the huge concerts we went to back in the day. All big headliners together doing summer concerts. 80-90’s were phenomenal. Beyond our wildest dreams at times
The washing machines are because Geddy doesn't like playing through massive banks of amps so they put functional props on stage.. sometimes vending machines. Alex has a collection of toy dinosaurs around his area lol
LOVE this song! I've never heard a Rush song I didn't like so ya know. There are many more great ones. 3 man band...yeah well you realize ZZ Top is also an awesome one! Do more of them too please soon.
Sweetie, I can't tell you how much joy you give to me, seeing your reaction to my favorite band of all time (and I've been around a long time). When I was young, they were dismissed as a band only guys liked, but I was never a girl who listened to or followed fads, especially in music. I was raised on classical, jazz and folk music, and discovered rock when I was about 7 (Aerosmith, Dream On). To this day, I listen to nearly all genres, but Rush has stuck with me since I first bought their Fly By Night album, and I've stuck by them. The loss of Neil Peart is still staggering, but the music goes on.
It's sad..... but I don't think we'll ever see shows like this again... 100,000 people sweating and breathing all over each other... and having a great time.... it will be forbidden.
I know those times were soooo free and they sounded the same as they did on the album. Back then we expected that and were usually delivered perfect vocals. Like they say in "Almost Famous". Corporations came in and it will kill rock and roll and they did. Glad we got to experience this time just wish our kids could. Remember it was word of mouth that made an album. Back then more albums were masterpieces. Every song was good. So sick of one hit wonders. Give me Kings Of Leon, bands like the old school rock. Stay Safe All
This show....was after Toronto had been locked down due to the SARS outbreak.....hell of a festival....perhaps....after covid ends up manageable...or controlled....we can have times like this in every city on the planet
Have you seen the cover version by The Unites States Army Band. It was a tribute to Neil Peart. Beautiful. Made me cry. Then I realised.... ...no drums. So I started crying again. ua-cam.com/video/aAPSK_cV5n0/v-deo.html

Q: During the Vapor Trails tour, and later on the 30th Anniversary Tour, Geddy had a number of dryers on stage. Three for the VT tour, and two dryers plus a vending machine for the R30 tour. So what gives? A: Geddy uses direct boxes instead of Bass amplifiers now... so instead of having an empty space behind him he added the dryers to keep it all linear. This started with the Vapor Trails tour. The snack vending machine is new for R30 and he changes the items for each show. I think that is for his own amusement and a testament to the band's sense of humor. The dryers also contain t-shirts, (which you can see tumbling in the dryers), which are thrown out into the audience towards the end of the show. They are special "souvenir t-shirts" which have RUSH logos on the front, and usually say something like, (and I'm paraphrasing, so forgive me ; "I got this t-shirt from dryer #1 on the Vapor Trails tour"). BTW, the dryers are operated with Canadian quarters only, and periodically throughout the show, you may have noticed technicians, roadies, celebrities, or fabulous babes coming out to add more quarters to keep the dryers running.
Alex Lifeson the guitarist liked to have big stacks of amps behind him so Geddy Lee the bass/vocalist/keyboardist had washing machines put behind him to make lighthearted fun of Alex. It is just a prank between friends.
At some shows there were great big glass front chicken roasters going. Rush! It's cold a long time in most places up here. Lots of time for music and thinking up weird shit!

The fact that ACDC goes on after Rush is criminal. ACDC is what i call bowling alley rock. Its cool and catchy, but Rush actuality have musical talent.
Look everyone has got their opinions but no need to dis AC/DC when they have well and truly proven themselves........let’s remember AC/DC are World wide band......

This TRIO is all it took to make excellent...Great music. They could play anything and make it sound like an orchestra or a 15 piece band. They are gods and legends!!!! May we bow down to them!! 😍😍 Neil....Alex and Getty!! I bow down to all 3 of you MUSIC GODS!!!!!🙆🙆🙆
Dude, you do a pretty mean Brian Johnson.
I'm telling you, start singing.
I believe this was the concert at Downsview Park in Toronto, Canada for the SARS epidemic. The Rolling Stones were the headliner ( hence the Stones riff for their intro). AC/DC played right before the Stones. One helluva concert.
You sounded like Brian Young that was great 👍🤣😂🤣😂
You need to do a cover band of AC/DC people would flip 😲🤣😂
YES!!!
The beautiful old days of concerts. Rush were some of the best in concert ♥️🤩
Great review man... not sure what your other rush tune was but ya gotta do La Village Strangiato
RUSH = greatest rock band ever !!!
Neil Peart - Rest In Beats
Don't it break your heart to know that you missed out on those lit ass concerts?
I watched this again... if only you knew all the huge concerts we went to back in the day. All big headliners together doing summer concerts.
80-90’s were phenomenal. Beyond our wildest dreams at times
The washing machines are because Geddy doesn't like playing through massive banks of amps so they put functional props on stage.. sometimes vending machines. Alex has a collection of toy dinosaurs around his area lol
RUSHHHHHHH!!!!! Had the pleasure of seeing them live 3 x it was magnificent!! So much talent for 3 damn people! RIP Neil!!
Stay Safe All
And the hippies held Woodstock in the middle of a global pandemic that killed between 1-4 million people worldwide.
Authority only has as much power as we give it.
450-500k in attendance....
This show....was after Toronto had been locked down due to the SARS outbreak.....hell of a festival....perhaps....after covid ends up manageable...or controlled....we can have times like this in every city on the planet
I love it when you smile with delight and couch-dance!!
“Time stand Still” by Rush great lyrics
And Red Barchetta🤟
Have you seen the cover version by The Unites States Army Band. It was a tribute to Neil Peart.
Beautiful. Made me cry. Then I realised....
...no drums. So I started crying again.

I wish I could have been there too.sounds epic. Its been a bit since we got back to some sabbath. Sweet leaf please. OOOORIGHT
They don't make bands like this anymore. They are the greatest 3 man band in history.
Rush was the best concert I’ve ever been to. That was in Houston, Texas about 10 years ago. They put on a righteous show! Nice Brian Johnson impression!!!✌🏻❤️
This is probably the deepest Rabbit Hole you'll find as far as Quality quality quality
Your reaction was priceless. It's is how most people react for the first time. Rush is one of the greatest bands of all time. R.I,P. Neil. You have went down the Rush rabbit hole. It is a long way down so get ready.
Cliffs of dover austin texas 1988 🎸🎸🎸🎸 i write that comment on every video you make!! You won’t regret it ❤️ I even join your live on instagram and ask you personally. big love from Quebec. Keep up the good work. PS : RIP eddie❤️
oooo yes Cliffs of Dover! And 1988 is my birth year haha
What can you say about ....Just 3 down to earth Canadian guys, who probably will never know, just how amazing they
are!!! FYI, the change ups in this song, were to give the listener, the feeling as though they were turning the dial on the RADIO 🙂 RIP Neil Peart 😥 (The best drummer to ever live IMO) Great Reaction!!!
Dude u need to react to Hotel California by The Eagles - one of the greatest jams ever created
Eagles are so conceited they won’t let people sample their music on UA-cam.
Limelight,Fly By Night and Closer To The Heart are my personal favorites. I'm sure you'll enjoy this band in general, based on your reaction
What are we going to do for your 100K sub ? We need a big party !! A live chat !!
Agreed!!! Pleeeeease! ❤️✨✌️
Yes! A live chat would be awesome!
I loved this! I have been a Rush fan for over 40 years , but have never seen this. Thanks for sharing this, hope you enjoy the Rush rabbit hole!
Begin the day with a friendly voice a companion onobtrusive? Sounds like when I listen to you .
RUSH is the best concert I’ve been to ever! Albuquerque New Mexico!
Your singing AC/DC was pretty damn goodl! Lol
Neil Pert is hands down one of the greatest drummers the world has seen. This is truly kick ass as they usually play like the studio. That was electric. RIP Neil
I've never been able to figure out why they have washing machines on stage.......?
@@Leogoth68 BRILLIANT! 🎶🇨🇦🎶🇨🇦👍
@@craigc1463 I love your pic.
What blows my mind is how young these guys were when writing and composing these songs
My man! Great song!! 🙌🔥✊ can you react to..
- *”Slow Ride” By (Foghat) Extended Version?*
💯🙌✊
Yes!
Excellent.. I was singing this the other day ...
Foghat ahhhhhh yes!!! Takes me back to a better time and place !! ! Young wild and free!!! To my youth when your only worry was if you were going to get caught skipping school!!!❤❤❤❤
@@kimdeese6410 Young wild and free got the magic power of the music in me, great Triumph song
Thanks!! Yes! Gotta love it! The whole Dazed and Confused soundtrack is awesome! Mostly! The movie also!! 😂🙌😎
oh I was there...what a magical day...500,000 people all enjoying the tunes...unforgettable
RUSH. The best ever.
The largest ticketed concert in Canada ... happened about 6 weeks after I moved to T.dot. Temps close to 40C with the humidex. It was so hot and humid that whole summer. I LOVED it ... I wish I was still in Toronto. An amazing, vibrant, storied city.
The fact that ACDC goes on after Rush is criminal. ACDC is what i call bowling alley rock. Its cool and catchy, but Rush actuality have musical talent.
Wayne Harder oh come on man you can’t be serious?
AC/DC doesn't have musical talent? what??
Agree! Rush's music writing blows ac/dc writing! Can't compare cuz styles so different.
Look everyone has got their opinions but no need to dis AC/DC when they have well and truly proven themselves........let’s remember AC/DC are World wide band......
@@Fidhife Every single song sounds the same. They're an ok band. Any middle school kid in marching bands could play their music though. It's very basic and I'm not a fan of basic shit. Bands like ACDC and KISS have these cult followers that wouldn't know good music if it kicked them in the face. And if you still don't believe me, look up Jim Breuer ACDC. Literally anyone can do what ACDC does
I would love to see AC/DC pull you out of the crowd the way Foo Fighters pulled Kiss Guy out of the crowd!!!
We may not get to see our Canadian unboxing today, but we do get some proper Canadian tunes!
Craig is that me in your picture 😂😂😂 is over here so confused
@@MrVideo123 Yeah man, makes me laugh a little every time I see. LOL Reminds me to enjoy something in life everyday. Hope you okay with it. Don't want you thinking it's some creepy online stocker shit! ;)
You have any space left on that wall for the small, flag we sent? Show some love to your brothers & sisters up North... ;)
Yesss- oh how I’m angry at that chic that ruined it- I live for the unboxings and reactions- I just love our Leo! Period! I’d love to at least know what all he got!! 🤷🏼♀️ 💜✨✌️
I liked my avatar, but yours is LIT! 👍🏻
I've been to RUSH concerts during their Vapour Trails tour and towards the end of the concerts they would open the washing machines, take out some RUSH shirts and throw them into the crowd....so fun! Keep smiling🤘🙂
My brother, you must now enter the realm of the best FEMALE guitarists. Joan Jett would be a suggestion for you. " I love rock n roll"
Um ... what now??? 🤨🤨
La Villa Strangiato. Studio version. You are ready now. Any serious Rush fan will tell you, this is the greatest display of their virtuosity in the entire catalog.
Dude you are the best reacter on UA-cam, you’re entertaining as hell.
Looks like you're back and better than ever. I've been to a Rush concert, where AC/DC and Cheap Trick opened for them. I think it was in the late '70's. Talk about a concert! Glad your feeling better!
Loving your reaction videos, your funny as hell!!!😊you make my day!!!
I love seeing your reactions to the music I love and grew up with. Yes… Rush and AC/DC are ICONIC!
Rush has ALWAYS had some of the best Crowd interactions in Rock history. I honestly can't think of a band that enjoys playing before a live audience MORE than Rush. They always just wanted to get up on stage & share their music with anybody that would listen.
"It's really just a question of your honesty, yeah, your honesty."
THANK YOU so much for every RUSH reaction! My heart can't contain my excitement. Dude--You just don't even know how much I appreciate your reacting to RUSH!
RUSH

Mr. V!🤯
Thank you my friend!
💥💯🖤🎼🤘
RIP Neil Peart
Best concert ever! Rush, the Guess Who, AC/DC, and The Rolling Stones and many others. 500,000 people showed up for this Toronto benefit concert (Sars fest) and no one got hurt. And yes the washrooms were an issue.
Every time I saw Rush live I imagined there were more invisible guys on stage because 3? Lol and I just ordered a mug 🤩⚡
I truly miss seeing this band so much. I didn’t miss a tour since 1983. It wasn’t just a show it was an event!!
💛💛💛💛 your reactions. No matter what you listen to you always show respect for the artist and the music. You show love and humor.
This was a SARS benefit concert in Toronto; their hometown.
Many Huge bands played that concert: including The Rolling Stones🔥
When ever you feel in bad way, through on some RUSH ,and see that crowd of people, one hell of a party, oh yeah
Greatest 3 man Rock Band Ever..... recognize.....
Damn these guys are good! This performance was indescribable! Just Epic!! My God! Great reaction. Legends, GOATS! And that crowd!!!
