HOW TO MAKE A SLOW JETSKI FASTER: GP1800R HIGH OUTPUT GOES 70+ MPH

  • Not everyone has the desire to buy a fully loaded supercharged PWC; if you have a naturally aspirated watercraft, it is not hard to make them out perform a stock supercharged PWC. With a few modifications, I had this customers GP1800R High Output accelerating harder and going faster than a new GP1800R SVHO.

    I added the ribbon delete and the same air filter for a big improvement. After some exhaust mods, I had to go up 1 degree on the stock impeller with great results. A few teething problems... the air filter actually unscrewed itself and fell off on the first test run lol. I just safety-wired it. Also, the air breather was puking oil on hard left-handers so I re-mounted it up high underneath the front seat bracket. Otherwise, I highly recommend these mods

    Greg, appreciate all you do. In my opinion it was a waste to put all this time and money into a gp na when the supercharged one is cheaper stock and more reliable than modded out a na one.

      I agree with you that a SVHO is the way to go. This customer was happy with the results; if he is happy, then I'm happy. These mods though do not hurt reliability in any way. It is only allowing for the engine to run more efficiently which is why it had gained 7 mph over stock.

  • @TheVonMatrices

    Seems like a waste of parts and money. If someone wanted a fast ski they should have just gotten the SVHO model instead of adding parts to the NA ski. Plus the SVHO has the possibility of even more power when the owner feels like it while this NA is maxed out. And you know that the type of people who add mods are never going to be satisfied with 70mph. The owner should have just saved the money for an eventual trade for an SVHO.

    • @GreenHulkGarage
      @GreenHulkGarage  2 роки тому +6

      Well all of these mods were cheaper than an SVHO, it gained 7 mph over stock, the fuel economy will be better, and in this case the color scheme matched what the customer wanted. So you may see it as a waste of parts and money, but the customer got exactly what he was looking for

      Many reasons to go NA over SVHO. Up front cost, ease of maintenance,cost of maintenance, reliability, overall fuel efficiency, and reliability. I actually wanted to find the fastest NA ski and found a 2016 VXR. After a demo ride on a kaw 250 x, which was impressive, 2 hours and 20 gallons of 93 octane fuel. I was left watching the Yamaha's running around the lake for several more hours. The reality is I wanted to trade off some performance for more run time, since getting fuel on the lakes here is expensive and sometimes difficult. Different people have different needs , you may think it's a waste of money to buy parts that make a ski a little faster, I think it's a waste of money to dump 93 octane fuel into a ski.
