my personal head canon for the Adamus is that they are like the 40k version of the OG ninja. while ninja did assassinate, they more often were used for scouting, espionage, sabotage, and sewing chaos through the enemy ranks by subterfuge. and that's what i think the Adamus is for, and only assassinate when they feel its the right time or necessary. this would explain why they supposedly predate the other temples, because they are the surviving schools of ninjutsu. and as for the blades, they aren't full on power swords because a power sword is big and flashy, not something a ninja wants, but they are designed to pulse out the field that allows the power swords to cut anything just before the moment of impact and then turn off again. this would allow the sword to be smaller than other power weapons.
38:41 i love that the picture accompanying the description of blanks causing a feeling of revulsion is one of Jurgen, presumably. I love how that series handles his blankness, as being a physicality and smell rather then a feeling.

Quick comment before watching; if/when you make a video on the Imperial navy, please don't forget to explain how the warp engines work. I'm very confused just how a man-made machine can enter a realm of souls, and by extension why the necrons can't.
pretty much in the comment you posted, in very layman terms humans have souls to enter a realm of soul magic essentially, necrons have no souls after selling them to be eaten by the c'tan. Humanity also use psykers to tap into the warp exposing their soul to mostly evil entities and by extension "Navigators" do the same for space travel, necrons with no souls cannot tap into that realm at will like humanity with latent psychic abilities, im sure there are plenty of videos maybe even wes already has one on navigators, the man made vessel is simply a machine its the navigators that allow space travel through the warp
The Necrons don't need warp drives, they actually have FTL inertia enigines. The Necron tech is like magic even to the Eldar because it was developed by the C'Tan who had mastery of the physical universe, the C'Tan could move planets with a thought, cause stars to go nova &, create blackholes out of nothing but after letting them help kill the Old Ones the Necrons shattered & enslaved the C'Tan. They have reliable time travel, one of them built a world city inside a star, they have a star map of the galaxy that can destroy any star in the galaxy and weapons that can kill a person AND anyone who shares their personal beliefs...... The Necrons are fucking broken, they fought the old ones + krork + the Eldar won that war, took out the C'Tan and said "Got that done lads, take 5 get some sleep and, we can finish the rest in the morning"
Your description of the Vindicare’s preferred prey suddenly made me imagine an Execution Force entering the Star Wars universe. 😅 “THE FIRST. GALACTIC. Have the traitors been identified?” Cal, posing as a techie on the Senate Floor: “All supporters have been positively ID’d, and their faces are being uploaded now.” _Smirk_ “So this is how threats to liberty die. With their own thunderous applause.” Van: “Profiles secured. Forwarding to the drop pod now. All exits are now being sealed, and alarm signals have been suppressed. Happy hunting, Eversor.” Cul: _Pout_ “I still think I could’ve handled the Chancellor alone, rather than being a glorified null beacon….” (I couldn’t think of roles for anyone else.)

I'd like to think Adammus are the Assassin Creed Hitman kind of character, dispatched to locations with a satisfactory degree of predictability, such as to "100%" the entire mission. No survivors, no witnesses, no traces, and all with nothing but spatial awareness, timing, hiding spots and skills so lethal it's an OHK each time.

I think it amazing how long the universe and story has been alive, and before, and present of 40K timeline. Thank you for all your hard work, so somebody like me. Can learn more about the universe.
My head canon after watching this video: The Adamus Temple are psychological warfare specialists who've convinced everyone in and out of the universe that they're just generalized assassins of a minor order, of no consequence, with weaponry so advanced yet unassuming that they totally aren't maintained by the Jokaero or equally ancient and secretive Mechanicus Ordos. So ancient, in fact, that they totally had no hand in developing the other Assassin Ordos, Inquisition, or entertaining Alpharius, Malcador, or Tzeetch. Yes, just as planned.
Hey Wes, love your vids. You have become my go to lore channel. Do you have any plans to do a deep dive on the Dark Angels. Would love a video explaining the different wings and the hunt for the Fallen.
Ya sorry about that, that was a hold over line that I forgot to delete. I had a whole one page rant about how it didn't make any sense that the lore was insinuating that the dart was traveling at the speed of light As that would result in blowing the planet up every time it's fired. Ended up cutting it as it was long winded and off topic but I missed that line and didn't think anything of it when doing the voice over😅
The Eversorr temple makes no sense to me. How do the inquisition infiltrate the eversore temple? The other temple masters are other assassin's but how do you sucseed the eversore temple? I just dun get it.
I'd like to hear your take about the non-officio assasins, like the Deathcult Assassins, the Maletech-Butchers of the phenonites, and so on. This vid was pretty rad!
Yeah I absolutely loved nemesis! It doesn't have much consequence in the heresy but it was just an absolutely awesome read. The dialog between the assassins was amazing. And the writing for the big baddie was very very good. I can't recommend this book enough

I love your deep dives, they’re great to listen to while I’m working!
One of the main targets for assassins in 40k is a ork warboss leading a WAAAGH.
Kill the boss, stop the waaagh.
One of the best WesHammer materials. Not being very verse with assassins I learned a lot today.
Don't think the necrons are dum enof to meesing around in the warp elder dodged that issue along time ago
Psyker Batteries, my friend.
This is better than I could have hoped for!🤩 this is incredible man thank you ❤
Kids are at school, wife is at work, I have two hours of freedom. AND a video to keep me company? Frack yeah!
Your description of the Vindicare’s preferred prey suddenly made me imagine an Execution Force entering the Star Wars universe. 😅
“THE FIRST. GALACTIC. EMPIRE!!” *_BLAM_*
Vin, removes spent cartridge: “Here’s to a safe and secure society. Have the traitors been identified?”
Cal, posing as a techie on the Senate Floor: “All supporters have been positively ID’d, and their faces are being uploaded now.” _Smirk_ “So this is how threats to liberty die. With their own thunderous applause.”
Van: “Profiles secured. Forwarding to the drop pod now. All exits are now being sealed, and alarm signals have been suppressed. Happy hunting, Eversor.”
Cul: _Pout_ “I still think I could’ve handled the Chancellor alone, rather than being a glorified null beacon….”
(I couldn’t think of roles for anyone else.)
Just saying, you make my afternoon really worthwhile, I can just turn your video on and start painting on my necrons and have a blast!
You didn't finish the lore about the emperor's children.
Don't worry I'm going to. Between you and me I was on a really tight schedule and wanted to knock out a few other videos first. The second part is coming but it probably won't be until the first week of next month
@@weshammer Aight bro no worries take your time.
Worth the wait. I appreciate the transparency on the process Wes
gotta say,THANK YOU for this vid! didnt think you would get to it this quickly! ;)
Time for something interesting to listen too while I drive. Lets goooooo!!!!!😂😂😂😂
Someday, I hold out hope that someday we might see my 2nd favourite kleptos, the bloody magpi- I mean, the blood ravens get their day under the weshammer spotlight.
For what it's worth, Adeptus Ridiculous just did Blood Ravens a couple weeks ago.
Doesn't that make it the exact perfect time for every 40ktuber to cover them? Each one stealing the content from the one before 😂
Your video quality keeps going up, such a shame 40k content isn’t getting many views atm, you deserve more
Assassins are so fun in 40k Daemonhunters, such a wide range of abilities
has to be my favorite deep dive yet. So good.
man I love this guy his vids are amazing to listen to while working or studying
28:50 what the heck is even that 😂😂
59:56 Daywalker has survived into the far future. Glad to see it.
Wes: I say all this because I'm not gonna' go into the plot of that book here, because that would add a whole extra hour to this deep dive
Me: it'd be a lot cooler if you did
Great fucking video, as usual, my friend. Thank you for the content.
In other words, we needed an Imperium Assassin game yesterday.
I wish. Closest youll get is the grey knights game Chaos Gate with the assassins dlc. No vanus or venenum tho which makes me sad
I Never played the table top games, but I been playing the video games. I am a fan of the lore and universe.
Thank you so much for this post, such an amazing topic
Great vid Wes, hoping for future deep dive on Drach'yen or some insight on the DAoT
@Weshammer and I quote, "a laser that travels at the speed of light"
Ya sorry about that, that was a hold over line that I forgot to delete. I had a whole one page rant about how it didn't make any sense that the lore was insinuating that the dart was traveling at the speed of light As that would result in blowing the planet up every time it's fired. Ended up cutting it as it was long winded and off topic but I missed that line and didn't think anything of it when doing the voice over😅
Are we ever gonna hear Wes cover the Castigator-class autonomous bipedal weapons platform? Aka the Father of Titans?
ffs, I love this channel! Thanks Wes!
Thank you for the great video! Such a cool bedtime story! 😁
The Eversorr temple makes no sense to me. How do the inquisition infiltrate the eversore temple? The other temple masters are other assassin's but how do you sucseed the eversore temple? I just dun get it.
Impeccable timing...I'm reading Nemesis right now 😎
An hour long video from Wes... Emperor be praised
Love these guys. brilliant!
I'd like to hear your take about the non-officio assasins, like the Deathcult Assassins, the Maletech-Butchers of the phenonites, and so on.
This vid was pretty rad!
I had to come back here… that was an excellent entertainment. Thank you Sir
Always a good deep dive :D
Been missing you man, no diddy pause 😂but keep up the amazing work and art let’s fucking go!!!!!!
Yeah I absolutely loved nemesis! It doesn't have much consequence in the heresy but it was just an absolutely awesome read. The dialog between the assassins was amazing. And the writing for the big baddie was very very good. I can't recommend this book enough
Thanks for the breakdown @WesHammer 😊
finally I have been waiting so long for this episode! Thanks you!
How about about video on the Solar Auxilia? those guys are so badass they made the Word Bearers figuratively and literally piss themselves during the battle of Calth.
This is what I’ve been waiting for
Perfect to listen to while I fall to sleep.
