DC started dividing the Fans with Injustice. Injustice divided the Fans with Injustice Fans and Classic DC Fans. THEN Snyder divided the Fans some more with the Snyder Fans, The Injustice Fans and the Classic DC Fans. The DC Fandome is fractured.... and it will be tough to bring everyone back together.
The only movies that audience actually liked??? Man of Steel??? No. Man of Steel should not be included in that list. Man of Steel was divisive from day 1... same as BvS. People were willing to give a chance to Batman V Superman a chance because it was the first time we saw Batman and Superman together on the BiG screen. But audience dropped like a rock after the first week-end. But even Before BvS..... the audience was already divided thanks to Man of Steel.
Ok nah. Well,i searched it up. I know man of steel didn't do super good, but it did pretty well compared to other DC movies. It had a 225-250 million dollar budget. And it made 670 million dollar's,so although ig the film wasn't good, atleast it made decent money
As a DC fan, Man of Steel, Wonder Woman, Zach Snyder Justice League, Aquaman, Shazam, Birds of Prey, Joker, The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, The Batman, and The Penguin carried the DCEU for Me.
Honestly, I completely fell out of love for DC. Because, the movies just don’t hit the same level as many before. Especially with the senseless endings in the movies! Plus, well I’ve been more into Marvel than DC, because, I grew up with Marvel more, and their movies were more interesting and had better storytelling. Honestly, with what WB has done to DC right now, there’s just nothing left for me to like about them anymore! Even with “Gunn the James” rebooting the DC cinematic universe, I really don’t have any hope for it! Also, as said, I’m a Marvel fan through and through
I didn't think the DCEU was all that bad, Man of steel, Zsjl, and Aquaman were the ones I loved, while the others were either mid or bad. Can't wait for the DCU.
I’m mostly hyped for Creature Commandos All the characters look interesting. I read the comics on these guys a while before it was announced and I loved them. Also JG said this is his saddest project yet so I can’t wait. I can already tell GI, Nina and Phosphorus will be my favorites.
The Flash had a potential to make billions but they screwed it, btw story was amazing, acting was great, the explanation of multiverse and time was very clear and easy to understand unlike mcu movies which are very confusing. But the execution was not right for the Flash, especially CGI, VFX, and those cameos scenes from different alternative universe, otherwise the movie was great fun, entertaining and enjoyable.
How strange how The Suicide Squad a DC movie directed by by James Gunn himself was ommited. It's amusing how people pretend like James Gunn isn't directly responsible for one DC flop already.

i am a DC fan and later on became an Marvel fan but mostly DC fan and i think the problem is else world's stories now hear me out, else worlds posses a risk and reward system some of them get great reviews people love them and some of them get worst reviews people hate them but both of them connect to nowhere canonwise this is what Marvel does better than DC they connect everything quite literally every single thing. That's why even the oldest and youngest marvel fan understand marve's story arc and plot easily. DC needs an singular universe that connects everything together every single movie shows comics games animations all are connected to the live action DCU. that would be the fix for DC. edit: if you have different opinions i respect that but i personally think elseworlds destroyed DC too much parallel stories confused casual audiences what is canon and what is not canon. we DC fans understand what is canon they do not.
Because they over spend on the movies. If the budgets were much lower the movies would be low risk. That's the issue with these super hero movies. They spend enough money to feed a third world country to make one then they have to make back at least twice their budget at the box office or it's considered a flop. That happened with Justice League, that happened with the Flash, and that happened with Joker 2.
When i was a little kid in the 80s my mom took me to the barber shop for the first time. The owner had comic books for all the kids…. I picked up the incredible hulk and my eyes were glued to the pages. I instantly became a lifelong comic book fan and eventually professional artist. That barber shop only had marvel comics and so thats what i got into. Growing up i really despised DC but i think it was just the rival to my favorite characters. When i got into my teens and early 20s i started brancing out into image and darkhorse comics but never could bring myself to buy a DC comic. Now in my 40s theyre making these movies and ive seen everything from marvel but only the batman and superman movies. So i totally feel what its like to be a hardcore fan and understand the plot line changes from the comics when it comes to marvel but my experience with DC….. you get the idea. Anyway so i try watching the DCU movies and man do they suck! I pray the comics are NOTHING like the films. You can see them adapting story lines for marvel movies but batman and superman seem to ignore the comics altogether what i understand. Why doesnt DC just adapt their story lines. Having never read a DC comic, i have heard of some great titles and runs over the years. Where are those stories? I hope the new DCU learns from their mistakes and utilize their strongest characters and stories more. In the meantime, im chewing my fingers waiting for daredevil born again. Theyre doing the muse story line! Freakin goosebumps right?
As much I like *_Man of Steel,_* it was the start of the DC movie fan divide, *_BvS_* just cemented the divide. The problem I had with the *_BvS_* theatrically is that it felt like scenes were missing. They cut out the stuff important to that film's story but kept in the messy Darkseid teases.
A few things on black Adam: Had that film come out in the summer and China I think it would have made an extras $200-400 million The Henry Cavill cameo leaked online a week before so people don’t feel the need to go see it just for that. Plus Superman wasn’t a part of any of the marketing so general audiences didn’t know Superman was in it until they saw it. Overall though we know the issue, it’s WB and them F’n about. If they’d just let Snyder continue with his plan from the off and not forced him to remove 30 mins from BvS and reworked Suicide Squad into a comedy we wouldn’t be here now.
No it would assuming black adam would make 200 China is false there no way knowing even it flop the had buyer of 250 another 150 on marketing the break even point in 700s
Exactly. Also gunns creative decisions are driving fans away. I’m not interested in his dcu anymore since he decided to cast a grandpa aged actor to play Hal Jordan.
I only watch the DC animated shows. Batman TAS, Batman Beyond and even Young Justice are my favorites. But I agree with your points. Because of how divided DC did in terms of its projects, having little to no connection, people make up their own fandoms.
As a DC Fan, I love man of steel, Batman v Superman, Zack Snyder’s justice League, The Batman, Wonder Woman and other DC Movies. I’m excited about James Gunn’s DCU and I have faith in DC’s Superman in 2025, I hope the marketing of it will be insane. We’ll wait what it turns out.
DC can‘t survive with JUST Batman and Superman…, they need more popular characters…, and guess what, back in the old days, DC was at the top and people hardly knew anything from Marvel with the exception of Hulk and Spider-Man and maybe some X-Men…, BUT thanks to the MCU, Marvel Studios managed to make their D, C and B-level character SO popular and so the entire world made the MCU the BIGGEST movie franchise in the history of cinema…, Black Panther, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Guardians of The Galaxy, Ant-Man, Thor, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Loki, Deadpool, Wolverine, Captain America, etc…, all these characters became HUGE thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe…, and next year the Fantastic Four will be the same thing…, the MCU will make the Fantastic Four even more popular than they were in the past two decades DC should work on that…, they have phenomenal characters, so there is no need for them to focus only on Batman and Superman constantly. James Gunn wants to play it safe now, by using Superman and Supergirl, but at some point, he’ll need to introduce unknown characters as well…, and I hope he plans it well.

5:53 a statement that was true prior tot he 2020's and the only movie you put in the totally agreement pile was Deadpool vs Wolverine. Marvel has recently split people off with their recent projects as well. However there are 2 major factors causing most Comic Book movies to decline in recent years: - Inflation of movie ticket prices -Competition from newer properties such as Videogame films.
I feel like the shows being in other universes would have worked if it was leading up to something like Secret Wars where all the continuities will be merged. That's what I feel like was the main problem with the Multiverse saga. Why merge the universes when most of the characters you highlighted are already in the same universe.
They keep hiring directors who have no interest in building an interconnected cinematic universe. Each director that they hire is only concerend with doing their version of the character, even changing the characters to "fix" them. They do want to capture the characters in their entirety because they're embarrassed by them.
If DC has people producing the films, who care about the source material. The movies will do fine. Like for instance. The DCAU of the 90s - early 2000s. Or Smallville, and other past successful projects. Those were produced by true talented fans of the source material. And DC was at its best.
Most of your reasons are BS chronically online takes some of them flopped cuz they were simply bad movies/poorly advertised. What confusion? Gunn is keeping his own stuff canon to his dcu while everything else is a reboot its called a soft reboot which marvel is gonna do post secret wars i bet yll aren't gonna call that confusing cuz the mcu bias is clear as day
Being a DC fan who grew up with the superfriends... i'm pretty disappointed how they handle the characters. I don't like matt reeves batman, but at least i still enjoyed watching some of their movies
Aquaman was butt of all jokes even in DC but that movie made a billion dollar featured no cameo from any big hero, Wonder Woman movie made 800 million dollars , Peacemaker a friggin nobody became such a popular character after the series , so it's very hard to make a hit movie with lesser known characters but not impossible. I think the best thing you can do is make a good movie or a good project , and hope for the best . I have full faith in James Gunn , he's one of the best person to lead DC ,and now that DC is a separate studio we won't have another JOSSTICE LEAGUE or Ayer Cut like situation and as a DC fan I'm super excited for this new universe.
Adding peacemaker is cute the show less views per samba tv than even Ms marvel ww did 800 in a climate superheroes were regularly doing those aquaman 2 was an anomaly @geekyray2024
Once A DC Fan Always A DC Fan ♥️♥️♥️ DC is Like Reality of the World, the Darkness, the Misery of People not like Disney Princess Marvel . Though The Points are 100% Accurate
Gunn's Superman movie will probably be a hit and I'm excited to watch it but honestly after it I'm not interested in anything DCU related until the brave and the bold so yeah , Superman and Batman are really the only guarantee hits as you said
It's only batman superman never successful movies in modern age even man of steel barely broke even. Superman is well known but does not print money like batman spiderman or even ironman and wolverine. Good thing did say ww being guaranteed hit @haideraad463
Nothing about studio interference since 2016 to current? Fan expecting MCU style DC only to find it was darker? For the naw sayers or being a Synder fanboy. Tell is how Sony and Fox faired. The same logic can be applied
Movies like Blue beetle and Aquaman 2 were good. They flopped cuz the DCU were canceled. Instead let’s just set up these other characters with the big characters. And ACTUALLY connect the stories. All the DCU stories felt separated.
Well DC is already making good changes, hiring gunn, hopefully they will continue the rest, like making same actors/actress, for the character. The things sometimes that bothers me thou about DC live action movies is about having multiple actors playing the same characters.
Dc did not more popular heroes outside their big 2 big characters ever since 1990s has able push more characters in film and TV blade ff hulk xmen all movies before ww or flash the mcu just pushed harder and now ironman cap thor gotg antman are as known xmen spiderman hulk.@marcomarc151
The reason why these movies bombed it's because a lot of people lost interest in the dceu and they kept on announcing stuff before the movies that made no sense.
Not connected? The problem is those involved in the process are themselves not connected. Most have never read a comic book or had an interest in superheroes. Whether or not one is a fan, I think holding a Gunn to Superman's head is not going to be very effective, but in a bad way for the Man of Steel. From the get-go the suit is horrible, and with the Where's Waldo vibe of the cast, Superman may as well be a cameo.
DC Films in the past 4 years: JOKER FOLIE Á DEUX: 205M AQUAMAN THE LOST KINGDOM: 434M BLUE BEETLE: 129M THE FLASH: 271M SHAZAM FURY OF THE GODS: 134M BLACK ADAM: 393M THE BATMAN: 771M THE SUICIDE SQUAD: 168M WONDER WOMAN 1984: 169M BIRDS OF PREY: 205M Marvel has films with secondary characters and less popular characters as well…, but guess what, they made GOOD movies…, DC could have gotten great successes with these films, even without Batman and Superman, but they didn‘t because people don‘t like their films.
If there smart they’ll start with Batman and Superman and introduce characters into their movies then see how fans like those character and figure out how to continue with them.
I feel like the problem is that, the original characters in the MCU were all human, whereas in the DCEU/DCU are all like, IDK, superhuman. No effort has been made to show DC characters go through human emotions and characteristics like pain or character growth. Iron Man went through things, so did CapAm, so did Hulk, Black Widow; even Hawkeye went through a little relatable-to-humans character development through the course of the Infinity Saga. Whereas DC heroes have not
The DCU can work but they NEED to tell us who the new Batman is, but idk if it's just me but, wouldn't it be cool if Robert Pattinson was the DCU Batman and that The Batman Universe was really the start of the DCU?
The DCU has no future, I will see Superman Legacy, but I never asked for it. The biggest problem was WB wanted to catch Marvel Studios and studio interference. I don't feel sorry for WB, they want to be anti-fans, then this is what comes with it, back to back films. Yes I'm a Snyder fan and I'm glad the Snyder cut happened. The MCU will always be better than DC movies no matter what.
I feel like if it’s not Batman or Superman movie it’s gonna flop cause how big the name of Batman and Superman are people are gonna come but flash is big but not Batman or Superman big I think that the new Superman movies coming by James Gunn is gonna make a lot of money cause how big the name of Superman is
Reason #6. DC has no integrity or respect for their legacy. None of the DCEU movies are comic book accurate. They all stray severely from the original source material and are totally unrecognizable, bastardized versions of beloved characters. [The same goes for the MCU] If DC film-makers would simply follow the original source and make something 100# faithful and loyal to that source, it would draw the comic book audience and the positive word of mouth would then draw the casual viewing audience as well. It's a simple solution that no one thinks of. That's why i don't bother to see any comic book movies because i know the characters i love and grew up with won't be on screen and i don't want to see my favorites ruined or destroyed.
Always been a DC fan, but they've had like 2 or 3 exceptional movies - the others are enjoyable at best

But It doesn't mean DC didn't had good movies in recent years, they didn't earn huge amount of money but it didn't mean they are bad
The Flash, Blue Bettle, Aquaman 2, Black Adam and The Suicide Squad were great
Zack Snyder's Justice League and Batman V Superman Ultimate Edition were Masterpieces

Aquaman: flopped cause they protected amber and said it was pointless
Joker flush a due: flopped cause it was a cash gra. Sequel cause wb being wb can't leave well enough alone
Injustice=Worst Universe
Correct. Let's not give it too much credit.
Ok nah. Well,i searched it up. I know man of steel didn't do super good, but it did pretty well compared to other DC movies. It had a 225-250 million dollar budget. And it made 670 million dollar's,so although ig the film wasn't good, atleast it made decent money
@@ahkafkhan4512 Suicide Squad made a lot of money. But do you consider that as a good one?
As a DC fan, Man of Steel, Wonder Woman, Zach Snyder Justice League, Aquaman, Shazam, Birds of Prey, Joker, The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, The Batman, and The Penguin carried the DCEU for Me.
a lot of those projects aren’t in the DCEU
Dark Knight, The Batman and the first Joker movie say "Hello".

I can already tell GI, Nina and Phosphorus will be my favorites.
WB was a joke

I think that is what gunn, will do he have plans for it
Contradicted yourself within the first 11 seconds. Impressive work.
4:10 And i must confess im kinda in that Category. The only Live Action DC Universe i have any investment in is the Reevesverse/Batman Crime Saga.
James Gunn's Superman will bring about a new successful era of DC movies!
The dceu is a example of how not to make a cinematic universe!🤪
Blue Beetle was a good movie. Unfortunately it had basically zero marketing because WB was putting it all on the Flash movie.
blue beetle was a not good movie
@ aside from GOTG Vol 3, it was the only other good superhero movie to come out in 2023.
@@Wanderer2331lmao 5.9/10 in IMDb. 67% on google like and $131 millions in the box office lol 🤣
Aquaman 2 technically didn't flop because it doubled it's budget
I think the Ridiculous Embargoes put on their Live Action Series contributed pretty heavily to the Divide as well.
They need to make movie’s with love not just to make profit they need good writers again
A few things on black Adam:
Had that film come out in the summer and China I think it would have made an extras $200-400 million
The Henry Cavill cameo leaked online a week before so people don’t feel the need to go see it just for that.

DC can‘t survive with JUST Batman and Superman…, they need more popular characters…, and guess what, back in the old days, DC was at the top and people hardly knew anything from Marvel with the exception of Hulk and Spider-Man and maybe some X-Men…, BUT thanks to the MCU, Marvel Studios managed to make their D, C and B-level character SO popular and so the entire world made the MCU the BIGGEST movie franchise in the history of cinema…, Black Panther, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Guardians of The Galaxy, Ant-Man, Thor, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Loki, Deadpool, Wolverine, Captain America, etc…, all these characters became HUGE thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe…, and next year the Fantastic Four will be the same thing…, the MCU will make the Fantastic Four even more popular than they were in the past two decades
DC should work on that…, they have phenomenal characters, so there is no need for them to focus only on Batman and Superman constantly. James Gunn wants to play it safe now, by using Superman and Supergirl, but at some point, he’ll need to introduce unknown characters as well…, and I hope he plans it well.
Saturday6981@ keep forgetting even early days marvel had xmen ff even blade dc still only superman and batman look 1990s and 2000s all dc pushed was those 2.

5:53 a statement that was true prior tot he 2020's and the only movie you put in the totally agreement pile was Deadpool vs Wolverine.
Marvel has recently split people off with their recent projects as well.
However there are 2 major factors causing most Comic Book movies to decline in recent years:
- Inflation of movie ticket prices
-Competition from newer properties such as Videogame films.
@BrontoSmilodon1 that's same everything black panther 2 gotg 3 nwh were universally loved and made profit
I can’t wait for the DCU
I feel like the shows being in other universes would have worked if it was leading up to something like Secret Wars where all the continuities will be merged. That's what I feel like was the main problem with the Multiverse saga. Why merge the universes when most of the characters you highlighted are already in the same universe.
Saddest thing is The GOAT Ben Affleck's Batman have no solo movie.😢😢
Excited for The Batman 2. Robert Pattinson is a great.
Iron Man was a B-Lister in 2008, though. He rarely had epic runs in the 1990s or even the 2000s up until Civil War.
They keep hiring directors who have no interest in building an interconnected cinematic universe. Each director that they hire is only concerend with doing their version of the character, even changing the characters to "fix" them. They do want to capture the characters in their entirety because they're embarrassed by them.
The Penguin might be a good show, but it was definitely not successful. It didn’t feature once on the Nielsen charts - not once 😢
The Nielsen charts are a joke and not really a good measurement of performance

It would’ve been smart of turn the arrowverse into a theatrical run now that I think about it. Yk if they did this early into the flash’s run.
Movies like Blue beetle and Aquaman 2 were good. They flopped cuz the DCU were canceled. Instead let’s just set up these other characters with the big characters. And ACTUALLY connect the stories. All the DCU stories felt separated.
I think people need to lower their standards and don't overthink it, and then you can enjoy a film better.
Well DC is already making good changes, hiring gunn, hopefully they will continue the rest, like making same actors/actress, for the character. The things sometimes that bothers me thou about DC live action movies is about having multiple actors playing the same characters.
Yes putting all into a cartoon like creatire commando tieing movies to animation games is really a good to expand
Announcing the Reboot doomed the remaining DCEU projects.
DC Films in the past 4 years:
JOKER FOLIE Á DEUX: 205M
AQUAMAN THE LOST KINGDOM: 434M
BLUE BEETLE: 129M
THE FLASH: 271M
SHAZAM FURY OF THE GODS: 134M
BLACK ADAM: 393M
THE BATMAN: 771M
THE SUICIDE SQUAD: 168M
WONDER WOMAN 1984: 169M
BIRDS OF PREY: 205M
Marvel has films with secondary characters and less popular characters as well…, but guess what, they made GOOD movies…, DC could have gotten great successes with these films, even without Batman and Superman, but they didn‘t because people don‘t like their films.
I really liked the Flash and Bluebeetle
You guys may disagree with me but I didn't find the Flash film to be that bad mainly becuase it had Micheal Keaton who carried the film.

Simple.. because In the grand scheme of things none of the movies matter..
Lets hope warner bros dont get bankrupt before dcu
I feel like the problem is that, the original characters in the MCU were all human, whereas in the DCEU/DCU are all like, IDK, superhuman. No effort has been made to show DC characters go through human emotions and characteristics like pain or character growth. Iron Man went through things, so did CapAm, so did Hulk, Black Widow; even Hawkeye went through a little relatable-to-humans character development through the course of the Infinity Saga. Whereas DC heroes have not
@@Srijith.Seetharaman Its clear that you have only seen movies. Batman and Superman are the epitome of humanity and behaviour in comics
Because they spend most of the budget on big name actors instead of the screen writers
The future of DC hangs on the new superman movie. If that bombs we're only gonna get batman movies forever
The DCU can work but they NEED to tell us who the new Batman is, but idk if it's just me but, wouldn't it be cool if Robert Pattinson was the DCU Batman and that The Batman Universe was really the start of the DCU?
No it wouldn’t, it would be a complete insult to Reeves.
I feel like if it’s not Batman or Superman movie it’s gonna flop cause how big the name of Batman and Superman are people are gonna come but flash is big but not Batman or Superman big I think that the new Superman movies coming by James Gunn is gonna make a lot of money cause how big the name of Superman is
Dcu is a reboot... Nothing is canon in the new dcu..
Hey for the good dc movies you forgot the first Shazam and The Suicide Squad
Shazam, Aquaman, Wonder-woman and Superman were the best DC films, The Sequel sucked for them all. Except for Batman.
