@thetramp123 the genre doesn't really matter, the scene clashes with She-Hulk's established motivation and desire to be taken seriously as a lawyer. All they had to do to fix the scene was have her be uptight while signing the contract with Megan, have Megan try to get She-Hulk to dance and be shutdown with some line about being a serious lawyer, then cut to a scene in a club of them tweaking. Id argue its cause u are more familiar w/ Deadpool due to his live action movies vs. she hulk that just had one live action show. Most people who read the character in the comics knows how she is. Didnt show his relationship w/ Death, no voices in his head arguing. If u knew how Blind Al REALLY ended up being DP's roommate...u know what? nvm.
It wasn’t until watching She-Hulk that I learned who Megan the Stallion was. I thought she was an original character created for the show because her name sounded so stupid.

twerking isnt meant to be taken seriously, so maybe someone as random as dp can do it and it feels right in the context cuz it will be funny. however that's pretty much the end of it. twerking imo is one of the worst moves ever that it's hard to even call that shit dance. it's so bad that i'd even argue most girls cant pull off that move with style...

@srntnjl523 they could have had a pile of "swj" stuff if they'd had good writers. Unfortunately they failed to even nail the "swj" stuff. I am literally the demographic they aimed for. I'm over 30. I'm a long time comic fan. I bleed once a month. I'm a leftist. I understand and recognise good representation. And they flopped. They flopped so hard. What little representation they had was foisted in there by someone who had no clue what they were talking about. 90% of the jokes were about how she looks, and her endless self image issues. She came across as weak, scared and incompetent, which just isn't she hulk. It absolutely was not the diversity they tried to throw in. It absolutely was the writing, the lack of direction, the actors not caring, not even one person standing up and saying "look, having a woman standing in front of a mirror and crying isn't the peak comedy you think it is. Having a middle aged woman who just signed a major deal with a celebrity isn't going to twerk. Body humor mixed with body horror gives everyone the ick, and she hulk shouldn't be approached from either angle." Not one person on that show had ever read a shehulk comic and it showed. Everything in that show is bad. And don't assume that anyone on the "humans deserve rights" side of things think this show was good. If anything it was way worse for us.
When Wade says "There's 206 bones in the human body, 207 if I'm watching gossip girls." That's not him being weird to make a comment. he's counting his bullets like he did in D1 when he only had 6 bullets in each of his Deagles. but instead of 12 bullets. this time he has 206 bones to use.

One more thing about the Deadpool and Wolverine intro, I was rewatching X2 and saw that when Logan took Rogue, John and Bobby and John played a song on radio it was Bye Bye Bye
You're absolutely right about people not laughing at a joke told by someone they don't like. I tested that theory when I was a kid. Told a joke to a friend of mine who was more popular and he enjoyed it. We would take turns telling the joke to different groups of people, and people would always laugh when he told the joke, but not when I did.
I felt like the easiest way to sum up why Deadpool's worked and She-Hulk's didn't is that the She-Hulk Twerking scene just came of as like one of those cringe early 2000's adverts with a combination of this is a "Famous" person who agreed to be here while doing something that is hip?fresh with the young kids that typical "How do you do fellow kids?" type thing.
deadpool's dance made sense because he is literally a mentally insane chunk of immortal tumor, he doesn't care what the TVA does to him in a fight because he knows they can't kill him... while she-hulk is a lawyer, it's just jarring
Another reason why Deadpool's work is that the NSYNC song was a song that was featured briefly in X2(2003), adding another amount of layers to the scene.
Let’s not forget that the Deadpool dance was a callback to when he said he should have got *NSYNC for Deadpool 2 after telling Celine Dion that she was performing too well for his wacky movie. She-Hulk they did it just because they thought it would be cool. Zero set up.
Back in the beginning, they were a fun way to surprise the audience for what the next top secret project was going to be, but since Disney keeps spoiling that surprise with their ridiculous "road maps" at the beginning of every wave, that sense of fun anticipation is gone.
2:40 aaa NO i am 31 and i haven't dance after i turned 20-21 ig but when this song played in D&W my body was like "oh you know these moves MF, they are right here in your muscle memory"
Honestly my friends and I loved the post-credits scene in Deadpool, precisely because it didn't hint at any future projects. And also that's been a thing for each Deadpool movie (well maybe except the first one, with Deadpool saying Cable will be on the sequel)
I agree with your points and I'm sure that the She Hulk twerking scene was just there for shock value, but to be honest, I'm a little tired of people comparing Deadpool and She Hulk at all. When you think about it, they only have one similarity and that's being satire characters who break the 4th wall. But other than that, they're different characters. Deadpool is a warrior who actively goes out looking for adventure because he's still a mercenary with some moral quandaries, while She Hulk is a reactionary character for the majority of her stories. Deadpool's struggles with his healing factor and love for Death make him interesting, while She Hulk comics are just sexualized. They're not the same.
Have you ever read a She Hulk comic? They're not good, but they only became sexualized in the past 15 years, prior to that they were safe, very very safe, almost child friendly in terms of aesthetic and plot thats how safe they were anyway. Very boring character imho, only liked her in 90's Incredible Hulk cartoon because they fleshed her out and made her relatable.
To quote the Sith warrior of the old republic “I bled him dry and danced on his corpse” which is effectively what deadpool is doing in my little head cannon so it fits great

Tbh, that really has nothing to do with it lol. If you swap the characters in the scene where deadpool is the one twerking and she hulk is dancing to BYE BYE BYE. There would be no difference. She Hulk would look super corny doing that dance while deadpool would look hilarious twerking with Megan.
@@vice2versa if i went into a she hulk movie, and i had never seen she hulk and it starts whit a bunch of grunts coming in to take her in, she winks at the camera and starts absolutely kicking ass, and dancing to bye bye bye i would be trilled! i already associate her whit the 90s, on the other hand if at the end of a series episode megan the stalion started twerking and deadpool joined her? god id probably wount stop watching due to how good the previous content has been but it would sour my day, great im now watching a deadpool cosplayer being an idiot at a comicon.

DP's dance was earned. He's always been goofy and has.. a taste in music. It wasn't super surprising to see honestly. First thought, of course that's what he picked.😂 Him doing the actual dance moves just made it hilarious.
although i do think she hulk being a woman will make some men view her as less funny automatically,
I also agree that it is more in character for Deadpool to dance, also the dance has actual choreography which also helps
@@mariasol1545 I think its the masks tbh. Characters like deadpool, Black noir, and spiderman have humor that gets elevated when they talk with their masks on. Its something about skin tight masks where you cant see the face or mouth that gives off an uncanny valley vibe enhancing anything they do whether that be something creepy or being goofy like deadpool and black Noir. Deadpool wouldn't be nearly as funny if he had no mask on.
@@vice2versa Very true, good point, but give she-hulk a mask, and that twerking would be even more awful.

Id argue its cause u are more familiar w/ Deadpool due to his live action movies vs. she hulk that just had one live action show. Most people who read the character in the comics knows how she is. Her twerking....TOTALLY on brand. The show wasn't written well. That's part of the problem. It had some highlights but overall...eh. imo. Deadpool...yea people think he is funny but read the comics. He is funny but he's a fucking loon. A funny disturbed loon that is aware he is a character in a comic book, movie, etc. TBH Ryan does a great job as the character but the movies really didnt show Deadpool fully. Didnt show his relationship w/ Death, no voices in his head arguing. If u knew how Blind Al REALLY ended up being DP's roommate...u know what? nvm.

also the meaning of the song. it's a bid farewell to a bad relationship (fox - marvel). Same as the outro Good Riddance by Greenday.
She hulk's was just Random.
I was never a fan of either nsync or the Backstreet boys, but I know that song. I was in high school when that song came out, so it was everywhere for me.
Also, I had to look up both the songs just to remind myself what they were. Bye Bye Bye is still stuck in my head despite having listened to only a few seconds of it before a few seconds of the other song. It's just a better catchier song.
Deadpool Dance = entertaining and funny
She-Hulk dance = disgusting and eye sore.
twerking isnt meant to be taken seriously, so maybe someone as random as dp can do it and it feels right in the context cuz it will be funny. however that's pretty much the end of it. twerking imo is one of the worst moves ever that it's hard to even call that shit dance. it's so bad that i'd even argue most girls cant pull off that move with style...
And also brain rot for she hulk
She-hulk’s “dance” just made me uncomfortable, but the deadpool dance made me really happy, I never heard of the song “bye bye bye” until I watched deadpool and wolverine and now I can’t stop listening to it.
Only because it was DEADPOOL doing the dance. If it was She Hulk doing that dance it would look extremely corny.
@@vice2versa Depends on the context & how the series is written. If the writers wrote her series better & if she was more loved like deadpool, I guarantee people would enjoy it
"dance" is correct. Never considered twerking a dance move.
Twerking just also isn't very appealing to look at?
Deadpool's well-choreographed danced keeps you engaged, ready to see the rest of the dance _and_ what the rest of the movie has in store. If they're putting that kind of attention and quality into just the opening sequence, I can't wait to see the rest of the movie. Twerking on the other hand is just......no. The opposite of engaged, every second the camera is fixated on it is another second I'm grossed out and thinking about chucking the whole show in the garbage.

She hulk dance was so unnecessary. Deadpools dance was so necessary we need a whole 2 hour dance movie
It was a post credit scene with She-Hulk getting too comfortable fangirling over somebody she was really a fan of.
She-Hulk was, according to creators made for women over thirty. So why they did not use someone from the 90s or 80s is beyond me.
They also kinda ruined her in the show by doing the forced SJW stuff. They really didn't write MCU She-Hulk well and it sucks. It could have been a good light-toned show but with some action
They had Madonna or girls just wanna have fun
Goes to show they're out of touch even with their own generation.
Coulda used like Britney, or Pink, or even Beyonce, if that was the audience they wanted. Naw MTS is hella new
@srntnjl523 they could have had a pile of "swj" stuff if they'd had good writers.
Body humor mixed with body horror gives everyone the ick, and she hulk shouldn't be approached from either angle."
Not one person on that show had ever read a shehulk comic and it showed.
Everything in that show is bad. And don't assume that anyone on the "humans deserve rights" side of things think this show was good. If anything it was way worse for us.
0:32 FYI I didn't know about this song until deadpool. The rythm was so catchy that I instantly wanted to dance along deadpool

3:29 I'm not gonna lie that edit was kinda funny
When Wade says "There's 206 bones in the human body, 207 if I'm watching gossip girls." That's not him being weird to make a comment. he's counting his bullets like he did in D1 when he only had 6 bullets in each of his Deagles. but instead of 12 bullets. this time he has 206 bones to use.
The Gossip Girl reference is due to his wife Blake Lively playing the main character on the original Gossip Girl.

Deadpool’s dance is LEGENDARY in a good way, She-Hulk’s dance is legendary in a bad way
she-hulk dance came out of nowhere and have no purpose, deadpool dance had a purpose and totally in character to do so
I felt like the easiest way to sum up why Deadpool's worked and She-Hulk's didn't is that the She-Hulk Twerking scene just came of as like one of those cringe early 2000's adverts with a combination of this is a "Famous" person who agreed to be here while doing something that is hip?fresh with the young kids that typical "How do you do fellow kids?" type thing.
deadpool's dance made sense because he is literally a mentally insane chunk of immortal tumor, he doesn't care what the TVA does to him in a fight because he knows they can't kill him... while she-hulk is a lawyer, it's just jarring

@@GoldenGuard-909 I thought she was just a character created for that particular episode.
Another reason why Deadpool's work is that the NSYNC song was a song that was featured briefly in X2(2003), adding another amount of layers to the scene.
Deadpool knows he’s not serious.
She hulk doesn’t know that she’s not serious, but wants to get taken seriously.
I see the conundrum
Let’s not forget that the Deadpool dance was a callback to when he said he should have got *NSYNC for Deadpool 2 after telling Celine Dion that she was performing too well for his wacky movie. She-Hulk they did it just because they thought it would be cool. Zero set up.
I’m still humming the tune in deadpools dance days after seeing the movie. 😂

Right? Just make a movie that is a complete product in itself, not just an ad for the next mediocre flick Marvel vomits out.
Back in the beginning, they were a fun way to surprise the audience for what the next top secret project was going to be, but since Disney keeps spoiling that surprise with their ridiculous "road maps" at the beginning of every wave, that sense of fun anticipation is gone.

Gyat
Have you ever read a She Hulk comic? They're not good, but they only became sexualized in the past 15 years, prior to that they were safe, very very safe, almost child friendly in terms of aesthetic and plot thats how safe they were anyway. Very boring character imho, only liked her in 90's Incredible Hulk cartoon because they fleshed her out and made her relatable.
