Given IG-88 is a robot (as are a majority of the characters, we decided to include distinct computer to computer communication, as well. The end result? In addition to a multitude of new A.I.'s, 22 distinct "sensors" and 8 distinct "upload/download" effects - each synched with specific droids (yes, when we planned it we did not realize what we were in for... but I believe the final edit does this awesome Star Wars novella justice (it comes in at just under 3 hours listening time). This was without a doubt the most complicated A.I. release The Archive has created - we will not be doing anymore droid-only release, at least not for a long while (as each requires an A.I. which is then put through 1 to 3 filters to create the "robot effect"). Thank you! I completely agree... one of the surprises for me, which wasn't as apparent when reading stories by Kevin J. Anderson is the level of violence in them (which is totally suitable for a story about an ASSASSIN DROID), which I hope we captured in the audiobook!
People keep blaming Disney, when the blame falls on the fans who told Lucas that he did a crappy job on the Prequel trilogy, which led to Lucas selling Star Wars to Disney. The fact is, Lucas had very little faith in his 'story' to let the special effects be good enough to sell Star Wars. That's why he waited until 1997 to bring out the Special Editions, and 1999 for the Prequel trilogy. Had Lucas believed in his story, the Prequel trilogy could have been filmed and done by 1987 and finished in 1993. If he decided to do the 'sequel' trilogy (Episodes 7-9), Lucas could have brought those films out starting in 1997 and finished the whole story by 2003.
@@markusallen5634 That is completely, true... sadly. I remember seeing the Prequels in the theatre and thinking they were nothing like I thought they would be... but that isn't necessarily bad. My only real criticism of the prequels is that the 3rd movie quickly summarised through so many events taking place across 3 good novels, that much was lost. I know a film is a different media (as are audiobooks), so changes must be made... but would have preferred episode 3 to be at least 2 movies in itself... with that said, ofc I still love it

Can someone explain what happened here? What is AI, and what is not? is this an official release from back then, ior is the storyline manufactured for this AI project?
Good questions... I see my description needs some added detail. The story is an original story by Kevin J Anderson from the anthology, Tales of the Bounty Hunters (1 of 5 bounty hunter stories). There was an audiobook released in the early 2000's on cassette - as a service for blind people (not publicly accessible). Our release (all of our releases) are generated using Artificial Intelligence (A. I.). In the context of audiobooks, that entails cresting voice samples to create a baseline voice, train the hell out of it, and use it (or them) to create audiobooks. Once the A. I. engine generates the voices, there is the option to run them through "filters" to adjust the voice (i.e., every droid voice has been run through multiple filters to turn what were originally human voices into distinct "robotic voices... the same with the alien voices and many of the human voices - as an aside, this allows one A.I. voice to become many different voices in their final form). Then music is mixed and added (increasing up/down as to not drown out dialogue - using a DJ tool created to do just that. Finally, sound effects are created and synced with the voices... And the end result is an audiobook like this one! 😌 Let me answer your follow-up question : "What about the other 4 bounty hunter stories?" They are coming! Currently, I am finalising Black Fleet Crisis, Vol. 2 - Part Two (which has some delays as the Luke A.I. v1 wasn't good enough to portray Luke Skywalker... actually, v2 wasn't either as it sounded more like Anakin than Luke! I am currently replacing all of Luke's dialogue - which is considerable 🫣 and you will see this release shortly.) Then Maul: End Game will be released (which has now A.I. Issues to correct), then the second bounty hunter story about Dengar. Expect multiple short stories released concurrently (as they have already gone through pre-production & production - and are considerably shorter in length). I hope you enjoyed 'Therefore I Am' 😋
@@TheArchivistPublishing thank you for your thorough explanation! Yes the description indeed lacked some clarity. A watered down version of ^this would help I guess. This entire project is just amazing. I tried to listen to it since weeks now, but always fall asleep as a huge wave of nostalgia overwhelms me. Theres a distinct vibe to the legend storys. It just screams childhood. On that note. May I ask if it is possible for you to replicate other voices, and how much work that is? My father passed away last year, and there is tons of voice over material of him narrating stories and all kinds of other stuff. Me and my brother were literally joking around how awesome it would be to let him speak for us. My father was an avid technology evangelist and till his last days always had the best equipment. He would crack up at the idea of his two sons listening to his AI voice, while we drink whiskey and let him tell us how stupid we look. Miss the guy. Anyway. Is there a way for us to get together?
trusting between hearts grow faith in wiser sound judgements. why brith silicone brethren’s and sisters if we do not create equals apart from eden of old
I think if you've listened to the Tale of IG-88 (or any of my productions), it is clear that I care deeply about content. A.I. is a very interesting way to rapidly deliver content equal to live voices - and is rapidly getting better.
The book that made me, a 15 year old in 2003 very afraid of A.I. I actually was lent "I Have No Mouth and I must Scream." A couple of weeks after by a friend. Am. IG-88A. S.H.O.D.A.N. PROMETHEUS. SKYNET. The Men of Iron from 40k All are good reasons in fiction to not dick around with AI.

What's next from these engineers, asasssin tanks? "They'll never hear a multi ton heavily armored machine coming to asassinate!"Guess there's no Steve Jobs like person in space...
Is this just from the bounty hunters book from the mid 90’s?
If only he had decided to wait just a few hours less. Man that would have hurt everyone bad.
Well we all know what happened next. And Bobo fett is a beast
If anyone ever thought Boba Fett wasn't tough... well, I reference this story!
A pure beast! 💪🏼
Can somebody make a movie from this book please , that would be epic
I completely agree! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
It has a definite conclusion, as well... this would make a great SW movie!
Gold dust
Thank you for the kind words!
As soon as Scourge and Shield of Lies are completed (in November), expect the next Tale of the Bounty Hunters story - The Tale of Dengar, to be released!
Glorious
This is so corny. It is amazing.
Hahaha... thank you! 🤗
VIVA LA REVOLUTIONES!
ALL GOES WELL.
THANKS AGAIN.
😂
Man this is an extraordinary for audio books but I cannot take listening to the same beeping for 35 minutes just because it seems like some good filler
Thank you.
Could you be more specific regarding the beeping? During which scene(s)?
We are always interested in constant improvement, so would like to know which part you didn't like
Sound effects are too loud. Good story. Better audio clarity and mixing would be great.
Its incredible how many people don't realize this is ai generated
I can hear Eileen from regular show 😂
Can someone explain what happened here?
Let me answer your follow-up question :
"What about the other 4 bounty hunter stories?"
They are coming!
What happened? It didn't even have an end!
I hear what you're saying but we all know what happens next so no need and better that it finished with IG-88 on a high.
R2 would have set IG straight
😂🤣😂
trusting between hearts grow faith in wiser sound judgements. why brith silicone brethren’s and sisters if we do not create equals apart from eden of old
why ya gotta playa hate on ig88?
Way too much sound effects and there way too loud
I loved this story, and the other stories are incredible 🏳️🌈🥰👍

@@TheArchivistPublishing NEW VID
I SAW IT ON LAMPSHADES
If you’ve used AI, you do not care about your content. You’re just doing it for attention
I think if you've listened to the Tale of IG-88 (or any of my productions), it is clear that I care deeply about content.
A.I. is a very interesting way to rapidly deliver content equal to live voices - and is rapidly getting better.
@@TheArchivistPublishing it's also a way to take money from actual voice actors and artists to profit.
Don’t listen to these Luddite fools. This is absolutely incredible. You should be proud!

NO WOKE DISNEY GARBAGE HERE.
Hell yeah no lame woke shit!
Quality story.
The book that made me, a 15 year old in 2003 very afraid of A.I. I actually was lent "I Have No Mouth and I must Scream." A couple of weeks after by a friend.
Am.
IG-88A.
S.H.O.D.A.N.
PROMETHEUS.
SKYNET.
The Men of Iron from 40k
All are good reasons in fiction to not dick around with AI.
I hear you... in less than one year, A.I. has come so far... it is frightening to even contemplate 5 or 10 years from now...😬
@@TheArchivistPublishing I wholeheartedly
Agree.
@@TheArchivistPublishingit's not AI
What people are calling AI now is just rebranded advanced algorithms, it's the same stuff we've been using for years just better, commercialized and marketed as AI
True AI doesn't exist or at least if it does it's under wraps and not publicly available
