Michael Reaves is one of my favorite authors and it is a pleasure to create audiobooks based on his novels... expect unabridged audiobook versions of MedStar I & MedStar II to be released in early 2025 (which are the final two novels without unabridged audiobooks by Michael Reaves... we already did his short story, MedStar: Intermezzo)

A.I technology has advanced a lot from the beginning! I think that really soon, A.I and human narrative will be so similar, that most people won't be able to distinguish one from the other..! Cheers from Greece 🇬🇷

I typically upload novel length projects chapter by chapter until I have finished all chapters, then upload the complete audiobook as a FULL volume (so Shield of Lies will be uploaded as 1 video once it is complete... but the first 2/3 of the novel are currently uploaded as individual chapters) ALL audiobooks are in Unabridged format (I am not a fan of abridged works!) You're referring to the "sedated" tone of Luke? You made an interesting catch - Luke's voice is very difficult to reproduce without it sounding completely flat/having no intonation or inflection. The reason Part Two: Luke has taken so long to create is just that - we replaced multiple versions of Luke's dialogue throughout the chapters... and finally settled on the current one. It's very close, but we joked about it within The Archive as having a "chilled" or "sedated" tone... Mark Hamill is difficult to replicate!

@TheArchivistPublishing tbh this Luke reflects Mark's... high nature... but even though I enjoy the story regardless, it makes it takes away from the experience. Maybe trying to have Luke sound like in Ep 6 scene with Vader prior to flying off to DS2 would be a better angle. His tone is different there.

I hope you enjoyed it! Chapter 8 will be out next week (following Emissary of the Void - Battle of Bonagan & 2 chapters of Scourge)... we are quickly approaching the end of PART TWO: LUKE (whilst Akanah's "illusion" is developing visible cracks)... and quickly approaching PART THREE: LEIA which promises a lot of action, space battles, etc.

There is already a really good version of Battlefront: Twilight Company in audiobook format narrated by Jonathan Davis out there, or we probably would already have created it by now (if you have listened to our The Tale of IG-88 or Maul: End Game audiobooks, you must know we like nothing better than to re-create battles... and Battlefront: Twilight Company is just that! We will be creating multiple Clone Wars Era projects in 2025... which I hope slacks your thirst for audiobooks covering epic battles!

I decided to re-create all of the Hutt A.I. voices (especially after receiving drafts versions of chapters 4 - 10)... there are more than 5 different Hutts in the novel, which requires a different A.I. for each Hutt (versus modifying the Hutt voices in post-production). There are definitely some "Hutt Firsts" upcoming - a female Hutt, an ancient Hutt, a troublesome teenager Hutt, and an ARMORED Hutt! 😯

I hope you check out our new version of Death Star (the release you are referring to is more than 1 year old... and an early release)... the new version is 100% A.I., but you should not be able to tell it wasn't read by a "real" person (more than 30 different voices spanning just Chapters 1 through 7)... Our new release is much higher quality - I hope you enjoy it!

Thank you for that... we try to improve on every release! Josh Adams is doing super work on the Republic Commando series already (one of my inspiration tbh), so we won't take on a project that we know he will cover in the future... with that said, we will create multiple Commando short stories and are looking earnestly at the Imperial Commando: 501st novel. We will start off 2025 by covering the 2 MedStar novels (check out our MedStar: Intermezzo (audiobook based on the short story), which was a "testing ground" for the voices and tone for future MedStar audiobooks). These 2 novels were previously only covered in (very) Abridged format... ours will be DARK, which I believe was the author's original intent ("war is hell", etc.)!

Thank you! I completely agree... one of the surprises for me, which wasn't as apparent when reading stories by Kevin J. Anderson is the level of violence in them (which is totally suitable for a story about an ASSASSIN DROID), which I hope we captured in the audiobook!

This release (as ALL of our releases) is 100% A.I. It includes 50+ different A.I.'s for this story alone.

Hahaha! Exactly! ... it is a good thing Luke destroyed the Death Star when he did, or we would have ended up with a "Cyberdyne Systems Situation" in Star Wars!

Yes, noted... we actually had a sound engineer give us some advice to avoid that in the future (who would have thought you could only record so many sounds over each other before it becomes difficult to hear the voices? 😂🤭😂)... but seriously, you should not have that issue in our projects since our discussion with the sound engineer (check out Cad Bane: Reputation, Force Heretic: To Die Trying, & the sneak peak of Death Star), we are balancing the sounds to the voices differently now... which I hope is noticeable!
