I’ve only recently began to listen to audiobooks on The Tube. But in my limited experience of various other narrators, you are on a level far above most. With the sound effects, it increases the ability to become immersed in your story. Being able to paint a picture beyond what the page can describe.
Love the sound effects. It's boring without them. Or it feels like a 3rd grade teacher is reading to us as we all run to our dits on the floor. Or was that just my class?
I couldn't agree more... Thrawn is one of my two favorite SW characters! In 2025, we will have a couple of Thrawn project released (already in the 2025 release plan... as soon as we clear the backlog for 2024).
Thank you! 🤗 I think it is important that this Thrawn story had the same "feel" as the previous Thrawn audiobooks (which are great!)... especial from a voice perspective... Thrawn's "whisper voice" or the one where he is thinking to himself really sets the tone for the other Thrawn audiobooks... I hope everyone liked it!
Exactly... I believe he wrote this 10+ years ahead of the first Thrawn novel... In my opinion, the 10+ year gap in which he had to re-think how to present the character really paid off (addition of a "translator" so you could really understand Thrawn's motivations behind each of his actions, etc. being just one. I think the later version of Thrawn is also less wild and more calculating (some good, some bad imo)... Either way, Thrawn is a favorite character! 😇
Awesome work as always. I just read the non-canon short story Lightsider (the origin of the New Jedi Order Battlemaster Kam Solusar) and I really enjoyed it for what it was. Do you think sometime in the near future you could create an audiobook for that?
Thank you for the kind words! I haven't read that one yet (time to add it to the Archive!)... I really like origins stories... and it's EU (👍🏼)... I can definitely do it in the short term, the timing dependant on its length (~30 minutes or so = immediately... >60 minutes = within a few weeks) I am searching for it now, tbh!
@@tj8097 Technically no, Lightsider was never actually released to the public until after Tom Veitch’s passing in 2020, per his request. It’s still a great read regardless
Amazing job! I’m currently 15 minutes into the audiobook. Is this the original version from Adventure Journal 7, or is it the updated version that came out after the prequels that adjusted a few details to fit with those?
This is the original version before all of the retconning necessary to fit it into the current version of the Star Wars galaxy. In this version, the story is framed with the Imperials hunting Booster Terrik and his partner, Llollulion. When Timothy Zahn re-wrote it 15 years later, he removed Booster Terrik and added Eli Vanto as his translator and companion. Interestingly, both (Booster in the original version and Vanto in the later version) seem to act as a means to moralize and comment on actions taking place around Thrawn. I suppose a bit like a "Greek Chorus". 😋🤣😋
@@TheArchivistPublishing ah ok makes sense. I guess there really are three versions to this story. The original from adventure journal, the version that is included in paperback outbound flight, and the newest version that is the beginning of the thrawn novel.
I made a small correction to the Premiere of STAR WARS: MIST ENCOUNTER Thank you everyone for the support! Original version (Premiere): ua-cam.com/video/q0CyaRopMOs/v-deo.html
Amazing audiobook but I think the date should be changed to 19BBY (it is mentioned Palpatine has proclaimed himself the Emperor only a few weeks before the start of the story)
For Mist Encounter? From strictly an A. I. perspective, that one is - by far - our most complex. I believe 5 different A. I. tools were used to create this one in the end (and we brought one of the A. I. tool's servers down at one point... as it mulled over some of the content - excessively)
Is there any update on your planned patreon to allow us to download .mp3 files for your audiobooks? These are fantastic and I would love to add them to my collection.
YES... check out DECADE Bird's Tales of the New Republic... it is one of those stories... and done excellently (as always... it was done by @DecadeBird )
I love the honesty of letting us know that this video was created with the help of A.I. The story is awesome too.

Mark Thompson
Timothy Zahn is awesome. I am finally reading the Thrawn Heir to the Empire trilogy right now, this is a good diversion between book two and three.
I love that you used Marc’s intro from Ascendancy. I used that for Crisis of Faith.
It fits perfectly for Thrawn content!
Well done on the reading and effects!
Thank you for the kind words! 🤗
I love this book I actually read it at my local library and now I want to buy the book❤
This is better than the non-original movies. Really enjoyable. It reminds me of why I played a Chiss BH in SWoTOR *sigh*.
After listening to outbound flight this is an exhilarating semi prequel/sequel to listen too
Thank you! 🤗
Very impressive work. Thank you. :)
Thank you for the kind words!
I am pushing to release another later tonight... hopefully, all will go smoothly and it will be available shortly!
@@TheArchivistPublishing I'll be looking forward to it. :)
Thank you
You're welcome

Poor Eli Vanto... he got replaced by a synthesized mockingbird. Thrawn was very fond of him. 😢
Hahaha!
Eli Vanto actually replaced the synthesised mocking bird.
Can anyone guess which bird was used to create the A. I.?
(not a mockingbird 🤣)
Loon?
I wish that all parties would agree to have more Thrawn stories. I 9nly hope that suddenly a Thrawn clone was discovered.

The berries from Hell.
The "berries from Hell" that also attract small animals wearing bombs! 🤣

I will not mention that part of the incident in the report sir.
I see that this is what Timothy Zheng reused for the newer Thrawn novel.

EU short story would be more accurate. It used to be canon before Disney, before the Dark Times

A timely question.
It is complete and requires an afternoon of testing to ensure the links, etc. work as intended.
It will be live this weekend. 😇
