If your survivor level are still low, you will see viral encounter like this, maybe your survivor level is nearly high so you only see viral in runner clothes 😅😅
If you are being chased at nighttime. Some regular zombies turns into Virals. You'll see them twitching as you ran through them. And will join the chase.

I never actually noticed it in DL1, but in DL2 it's sometimes really crazy how the virals "come back" for a short time. The first time I noticed it, I got a shivers down my spine.. really, really hard stuff..
A related detail you forgot to mention was that, whenever you make enough noise to attract virals, you hear one of the scream something like "run away". They know they'll hurt you if they catch you, so they're doing their best to warn you in what few moments of self-control they have left.
I believe it's the pain they experience that gives them a large enough shock to the system that it kickstarts their brain for a second before the infection muddles their rational thought again.
It would be super messed up if it turns out that if a zombie lives long enough it eventually starts regaining its sanity. It would make you feel awful for the 500k zombies you killed.
It's a cool detail. The pale zombies are the weakest of them all. Virals are basically freshly turned. So they spread the infection quite quickly. The other zombies are stronger obviously since they still retain the strength of the people who turned. I think the virus does make them a little stronger too. I can't exactly remember the lore, but Volatiles are a very hybrid form of some of the humans. Mutating to beyond human but still keeping the features. Roanoke Gaming made a video on it years ago. the fact that there is no comeback from it , painful
the most terrifying thing about zombi is that they were humans, they could be your mother, dauther, brother... if you put more traces of humanity in them like fear, tears and regreat stead of just an angry face they will become away more territying and harder to face
This makes me think about the Flood from Halo because they don't kill the host they only take control of their body
I like how they did it in 1 better. It's just long enough to notice it, but just short enough to miss it if you're focused on something else, and make you question what you saw the first couple of times.
That's a really cool, and creepy detail! Nice :)
is it just me or the voice acting is on another level
Question, did you use any mods in this video? Because I genuinely don't remember ever seeing a female viral with that dress at 00:12 xD.
It's not a mod... I remember this
If your survivor level are still low, you will see viral encounter like this, maybe your survivor level is nearly high so you only see viral in runner clothes 😅😅
It is kinda rare tho
Been seeing virals in business suits/designer clothing even
If you are being chased at nighttime. Some regular zombies turns into Virals. You'll see them twitching as you ran through them. And will join the chase.
Bro I’m telling you when you’re running and they’re just right behind you and you can hear them, it never fails to cover my cover body in goosebumps bruh
bro imagine having 0 control over your body, but you still retain your thoughts and partial sentience, aboslutely wild
I was so glad when I saw DL 2 brought that detail over, such a cool concept for the games
With this 55-second video, we saw the difference in soullessness between Dying Light 1 and 2. That is the ambient sounds
nothing scarier than volatile breathing near you while hiding
I feel like a psychopath now because I never noticed them begging for there lifes.
It’s more disturbing and sad than anything. They should make a movie from dying light!!
Reminds me of hearing about zombies in Last of us. Similar thing. Some zombies moaned in pain as they tried to fight the mind control but couldn't.
It would be far more difficult NOT to notice this.
Just today this happened to me in the first game and i grappled the runner just to get some seconds to think "wtf they're still concious?"
Am I the only one who’s noticed how the hazmat one will stand there and wave at you sometimes???
Dying Light one is by FAR the scariest horror Zombie Game ive ever played.
Great game man. Wished they added more single player DLC and side guests.
My brain turned viral/infected from attempting to read the captions.
I never actually noticed it in DL1, but in DL2 it's sometimes really crazy how the virals "come back" for a short time.
The first time I noticed it, I got a shivers down my spine.. really, really hard stuff..
This whole time I thought that was a zombie begging, so I start hitting even harder lol
i used to think the zombies were just trying to trick me when I first noticed this detail when I was 15
A related detail you forgot to mention was that, whenever you make enough noise to attract virals, you hear one of the scream something like "run away". They know they'll hurt you if they catch you, so they're doing their best to warn you in what few moments of self-control they have left.
Honestly, when I played the game and noticed this detail, at first it was creepy for me, but then I proceeded to just slaughter a horde of them.
Imagine beating a gimp zombie and it just approaches you whimpering.
And in DL 2 we saw how it looks when you start turning into zombie
u see that in dying light 1 with crane when jade gives him antizin
I used to despise them thinking they were manipulative
the literal definition of "I'm gonna knock some sense into you"
Time to replay dying light!! This scared me when i first noticed it and wow i loved this detail so much. Brutal
The fact they beg for mercy is creepy and cool at the same time.
Man that would be depressing to see in a dying light tv show or movie, could really show a sad truth
I believe it's the pain they experience that gives them a large enough shock to the system that it kickstarts their brain for a second before the infection muddles their rational thought again.
The running zombies never try to bite you they rather use fists in a straining way
I did notice this myself when fighting virals. It is pretty scary and interesting tbh
Kick to the face: Wait, no. It was just a prank.
I was just joking people when their “prank” backfires:
It would be super messed up if it turns out that if a zombie lives long enough it eventually starts regaining its sanity. It would make you feel awful for the 500k zombies you killed.
I think there was a movie like that.
A good one to watch.
coolest thing ever on a zombie. Even better than zombie climbers at the walking dead
I'm glad Dying Light 2 is more bright and has a positive tone but the night time should feel like a horror game
I'm not a fan of horror games but the name "DYING LIGHT" should mean something during the night time
I personally think DL 1 is superior theme wise
Dying light 2 looks ugly and unappealing when dl1 just looks good and has its unique special art style and areas, dl2 is copy paste ugliness
We really had it good as kids. Todays games are dogshit compared to this.
Its impossible to not notice this
This is how my dad cure my bad behavior 😂😂😂
Brooo
Good dad
