Thanks for watching! 🙌🙌 Have you got a favourite game of the last ten years that just doesn't get old when you revisit it? 🤔 Tell me about it down below...
Cannot believe it’s been 10 years since this masterpiece dropped! Truly one of the last pure, silly, fun zombie games that understands what players want out of that experience. Excellent video as always!
This waa one of the few games that were actually terrifying at night for me. They did darkness really well and the mutant varients were genuinely terrifying that they could chase you.
Couldn't agree more! If I had more time I would have loved to make a section of this video about the difference between day and night gameplay. Thanks for watching! 😊
One thing worth mentioning here at 14:23, Crane gets exhausted and runs at a snails pace at lvl 1 likely because the infection made him weaker, as you get more antizin, train your body with all of that parkour and fighting, and get used to the infection, Crane becomes an absolute beast (pun intended). Kyle Crane is simply that guy.
Dying Light is one of those games that you really don't see, ever. A perfect mix of horror, open world, & the BEST parkour in gaming by far. This game really help the Zombie genre as a whole. The city of Harran is just perfect, the small neighborhoods of the slums, broken down buildings, & that SUNSET 🌅. That 'Dying Light' is like the last of hope slowly fading away until the howling darkness arrives. In many ways this game made more appreciative of sundown. Great video 👏. Good Night, & Good Luck.
I first played it thinking I may have wasted my money… then I got through a few missions and was instantly hooked on the lore, gameplay, story, environment, EVERYTHING!!! THIS… is how you make a zombie game.
I'm glad that UA-cam recommended your video to me. I love this game, and it has become my favorite game of all time-even though I dislike zombie games! I must replay it again. 😍
Time to write an essay on how much I love Dying Light. This is the perfect, open-world post apocalyptic zombie game I've come across. Typical zombie games are restricted in terms of play area, movement and things you want to do, but that's precisely not the case in Dying Light. One can argue that maybe there's some restrictions, but before Dying Light, there weren't many zombie games which relied on parkour mechanics as a means for traversing the map, or forcing the player to gather resources to make weapons, throwables and consumables from scratch. On top of that the parkour is the most unique aspect. Be it old town or slums, both maps in Dying Light 1 have this unique architecture that aptly represents the impact of a modern zombie apocalypse in an urab area which is a part of the developing world. Whilst the story is decent, the quests are often intense and the sequel fails to replicate the same intensity and adrenaline boost that Dying Light 1 had. And without a shadow of a doubt, night time in Dying Light is pure fear inducing. A man who can travel from the Tower to fishermen's village at night time in nightmare mode alone without grappling hook is a man who has the real balls of steel. Melee combat, firearms, grappling hook, gathering resources to make blueprint weapons, drop kicking zombies off roof tops, landing on roofs of cars or vans or piles of trash after jumping off insane heights, standing on the borders of safe zones to irk zombies, virals and volatiles, its just an amazing game that pumps adrenaline rush and is definitely one of the best co-op games out there too. Clocked in over 200+ hours in this game and love every moment. Another amazing thing about Dying Light is that despite years after its release, Techland continues to provide DLCs for the original game and players keep coming back to play Dying Light. I remember at one point logging in and more than 12k players were playing the game even years after its release. Techland made a gem of a game we all love till this day, and I can't shake off the pure adrenaline rush everytime I log in for a quick free roam sesh to detoxify myself from work. A game I 100% recommend everyone to play at least once in their life.
It’s ironic that I finished Dying Light 2’s main story this morning and then realized it was the 10th anniversary of the first game. I bought DL1 day one and absolutely loved it, currently have 105 hours on steam. One of the few games I can return to and have fun just running around and fighting without any objective because both systems are so solid. The Following is also one of my favorite expansions ever. Meanwhile, I uninstalled DL2 right after I finished it because of how much space it was taking up 😭
Thanks for the video bro. Seeing those incredibly atmospheric visuals (especially the sunsets) and listening to that gorgeous OST really got me emotional. This game was such a special experience.
dying light was a special game to me... i remember how i was hyped in the game yet i cant afford to get it since i was struggling in my work... years after i managed to get the game and it felt like home cant believe it's already 10 years had passed, the hype on it was the best
Dying light gives me the atmosphere of a beautiful city covered in desperation, beauty given by looks, dedperation by sound, awesome combination, psychological horror, adrenaline rush parkour, gore and versatile combat, magical game, you, the main character, Kyle Crane, in a new environment that gives you chills and questions about next day
I am currently playing Dying Light while watching this, just finished my first full playthrough including the following. I honestly can't believe how well it holds up. Someone in my family came in (they aren't a big gamer) and I told them this game was 10 years old and they were like "I wouldn't have guessed." Not to mention, I actually love the dialogue so much. The "THERE WERE F***ING KIDS IN THERE" from Brecken and the Crane voicelines were perfect.
A certain game came to mind when you asked what our favourite game of the last decade was, one that we could replay and never get tired of, I’d like to proudly say that for me that game is MAD MAX which is also turning 10 this year. I can’t tell you how many playthroughs that game has gotten, for me it’s just timeless
a) This is everything I ever wanted to say about Dying Light, put in an elegant 20 minute video b) What the hell? This channel has a ridiculous level of quality for a channel under 10,000 subs - I'm gonna go on the record right now and bet that it'll explode in popularity by 2026 if you keep this level of quality up!
Dying light 1 was something like half life 2 , a one in a lifetime game that cannot be replicated in any way, of course you can drop the sequel and make us think it is the same shit but no man it is not that simple. This game has an essence that even the creators can´t make again. I love dying light and I played both games with dlcs included but i have to say that the things I felt with the sequel were not even near to the atmosphere that Harran made me feel. Finally, HAPPY 10 YEARS OF DYING LIGHT I´m super excited for dying light the beast, hoping to know more about what happened to Kyle crane
No way it's been 10 years 🤯. This game ruled and you did a great job of reminding me why! The jank is deffo part of the charm and I had a tonne of fun with the co-op getting up to all sorts of daft nonsense. Also, dropkicking zombies off of buildings never ever EVER gets boring haha! A few of my favourite games to revisit from the past 10 years are MGSV, the new Hitman Trilogy and PREY. I find myself constantly coming back to these to mess around with their gameplay systems and open ended sandbox worlds!
Great vidya! Going to replay the game this afternoon, has it really been 10 years?! Favorite game of past 10 years was Death Stranding. Hideo knows things before they happen, and did it again. Story still melts Cozy's heart in many ways, good and bad. Thank you for putting this on YT so we all could watch it!
This game's awesome, I played it way back on my PC when it launched, then again when Dying Light 2 dropped. Got a Switch for Christmas and now I'm playing DL1 on it - it never gets old! I'll probably get my kids into it someday.❤
It's so nice finding a video about dying light that doesn't take a 5 minute intermission to talk about how the story was the worst thing since postal 3. The story isn't even that "bad". Same goes with dishonored 1. I've lost count of how many videos about these games I've stopped watching halfway through because they started mindlessly crapping on a perfectly serviceable narrative for minutes on end.
Yea I can't agree more. The story is secondary to the gameplay, and to be honest, the story is still fun to follow along with, and it doesn't need to be anything more than that. Thanks for watching! 🫡
Dying Light is a heavenly gift from Techland, 10 years going stronger than most games - overall another platinum "trophy" for polish master of games. You gave us a very, very nice video man - hope you continue to make so HQ videos. All good to you!
Can't wait to see this channel blow up. I know UA-cam is a little saturated with these video game essay type videos lately, but this was quality. I've been replaying DL1 the past couple of weeks and recently realised that it's really my comfort game. Which is super weird, considering it's a zombie game, but so am I so it works 😂 This video really verbalised the qualities that make it feel that way to me. and the fact that the game holds up SO WELL after all these years is insane. I say this as a DL1 lover who actually really loves DL2, also! Seems to be a slightly unpopular opinion, but I go back to both games regularly.
Aw, you're very kind! DL2 isn't bad, and I've heard lots of people who prefer it, so you're not alone! I just think a lot of fans of the first game prefer the original a lot more so they were disappointed. I kinda wanna revisit Dying Light 2 now to see how it holds up!
This is hands down the best game review I’ve ever seen. Dying Light is such an incredible game, and you’ve captured its essence perfectly. Honestly, your content deserves so much more recognition - it’s way too underrated. The video structure is fantastic, and your analysis is spot-on. Keep up the amazing work! Much love from Germany
This is my favorite game, the disc was passed down from one of my dad’s military buddies years ago and I’ve been hooked ever since by the game and the community.
Great retrospective, one of the best ones I’ve watched! Dying Light is a favorite of mine & an excellent game. Techland’s best game… with Call of Juarez Gunslinger coming in at a close second.
Excellent video, really well made. The game is the perfect never ending jungle gym that i can always come back to. The camouflage sound design is perfect.
First time I ever played Dying Light, I was hooked immediately, kept playing for hundreds of hours, and tracked every day until the sequel came out. It'll always hold a special place in my heart and I am looking forward to what Techland has in store in The Beast
I'm really glad i've been in this community since 2017. Throughout a large chunk of games i played in my lifetime, DL still holds my #1 favourite game near FC4 and WD2. The experience it gave me is out of this world, which resulted in 1600+ hours of playtime. I'm not going to write here on how much i love DL, so i will just say i am one of Dying Light enthusiasts. Splendid video man.
Played this for the first time recently and enjoyed it. Really liked the Old Town area and missions. One thing that really helped me was some random players joined my game(I didn’t even know it was multiplayer) and they dropped some super high-damage weapons for me.Helped me get to point where I could start crafting decent stuff myself. Sadly the game crashed my saves so I’ve moved on.
I had a similar experience playing with my best friend when the game came out - he dropped hundreds of lockpicks and medkits at my feet, and some high-level weapons so I could keep up with his high-level character. Thanks for watching!
I played through the original story again after finally building myself a new PC and man the game was just as good as I remember if not better. In the middle of The Following for the first time right now and I'm taking in everything it has to offer slowly and loving it.
dying light is one of my favourite video games and i appreciate there are people like us like you making video about particular game that isn't "that mainstream" but loved by many. i wish dying light was more popular , like gta games.
Dying light 1, Witcher 3, best of the past 10 years, and both 2015 ( witcher was made if may if i remember well, so its 10th anniversary is just in a few months ) For DL1, the music score with its 80's synth themes, that's the thing that made the atmosphere of the game so perfect to me :)
One of my favorite video games of all time. The graphics, side quests, map, it's all perfect. Perfect game, better than a lot of gamee released in 2024. I'm in love with Dying Light.
As someone with 200+ hours on PlayStation who just played on PC for the first time, it makes a massive difference! Makes the game feel so much faster. Fingers crossed they add it!
Dying Light is my favorite game of all time and that will probably never change I mean the horror I felt when I played it at 11 years old and the fun and great moments I had with friends I what make it the perfect game for me
Me and my freinds playing it again completed it in hard and we just go for nightmare now we are having a blast like it's our first time playing it this is my 7th or 8th run for this game including the following it's just so good and can't wait for the next big update for it the next gen one this will be a + new game for us
i remember watching youtubers playing it back when it was new man how time flies i remeber getting watch dogs 2 fallout 4 in 2016 for my xbox one and it was such a good time for games back then now i see lots of youtubers revisiting lots of these games that i used to play back then and i dont wanna feel old im only 18 lol but these videos geniuenly make me feel old. Im mostly sad that now i have a very good pc but no good new games to play back then i didnt know what game to buy with the money i would get from everyone. And for dying light the game is amazing even today also the following dlc is so good too i was so dissapointed with the second game and sadly i dont think it will ever be what it was promised. Im glad that i only played like 10% of the best games released in the last 20 years i have so many games to play and i only wanna get back into the same games i played because nothing new has caught my eye they just dont make games as they used to :(
this game is by far the best non survival/non horror zombie game,it still plays pretty damn awsomely, the only things its fallen behind in is gunplay (its no call of duty ),and zombie gore wise its fallen behind dead island 2,but that game just came out in 2023 and was revolutionary in its flesh system
I would also say that dying light is still my favorite game of this era, maybe even my favorite game all time. Hope the next game: The Beast, will be more like the first dying light, the said so in the trailer, so lets hope :D
Love that game and have been playing since 2016… you always learn a new ee in that game and get something new. However I’m ONE goddamn throphy away from platinum and it’s the quest were you need to do 5 quest full squad and same people…. Every 3 or 4 man lobby are just doing harran prison
The thing I also like. Is that it isn't a complete apocalypse. You have the government folks outside holding their own. And it isn't like the couple games I played that says oh humanity has fallen the governments have lost. Least here it's folks trying to help and figure it out in the background. Hence the quarantine zones, the jets and you can still talk to political figures outside. Thing I also is the music and the guns. Just a heads up you can lug around 1037 rounds of ammo. This involves both dlc and base.
A shame that the Techland stream yesterday was about giving us "information" without giving us information. Just stating things we already figured or knew.
It's funny you mention how much you like the dlc cause I really didn't personally, they made an amazing parkour zombie game and then set the dlc in a field with a car
It was a big change-up, you're right! I guess I really enjoyed it for the spin on the formula. Movement still felt enjoyable, it was now just in a car. But the goofy silly nature of playing that with friends, along with the progression was just loads of fun.
Dying Light came together incredibly well. The combination of the gameplay, story, graphics and atmosphere. I didn't like the first Dead Island so I was not looking forward to Dying Light. I bought it 5 years after release and absolutely loved it. The parkour elevated the Dead Island gameplay for me to such a degree I could not play first person games without parkour for a good year because how restrictive they felt. I actually didn't like The Following because there was way less parkour and a lot of driving reminding me of Dead Island so much I dropped it after a few hours.
Loved the parkour as well! I didnt play the dead island games until years after Dying Light and i know what you mean, they just don't feel the same. Thanks for watching! 😊
Okey, so hear me out. I played DL in 2018 and loved it (I still love it today) I played the NR Mode days ago with some friends and my friends never played that game they said "The game looks just as good as new titels" so ye I think that´s everything to say not even mentioning the combat/parcour etc.
😅😅😅 I'm afraid this comment section could devolve into Dying Light 2 hate. I haven't actually replayed Dying Light 2 since launch, but I agree it didn't have nearly the same impact. Thanks for watching!
It's alarming how many things are turning 10 year old or even older, you know shows and such, but when i saw that Dying Light has turned 10 year old, god i feel old, i'm one of the people who consider the first game to be better than the second, i am not saying that one is shit, it's just not as good in my opinion, indeed it still holds up really well after a decade.
I agree with everything except the praise for the DLC. And I don't understand people who praise it. After all, the whole point of the game was parkour, and then suddenly they dumped racing on us and almost cut out all the parkour
I thought it was fun 🤷♂️ New and stronger weapons, new enemy types, a different kind of map to explore, the buggies and their upgrades were well thought out rather than just being thrown together. It was different but I had 250+ hours in the base game and loved the DLC. Think it just comes down to personal preference!
The reason there are so many diverse characters and voice actors is because the Olympic Games were being held in Harran, so you’d bet there would be many people from different backgrounds
Me too, believe me! I wish I had more time to dive deeper because this game sounds like no other. The sound design is so full, but the soundtrack has this amazing synth work in it - hopefully, you can hear it in the background - that's my way of paying tribute.
Thanks dude! It's been a very quick 10 years!
Tbh Days Gone was great too
This waa one of the few games that were actually terrifying at night for me. They did darkness really well and the mutant varients were genuinely terrifying that they could chase you.

Well said! Thanks so much for watching!
Just so no one forgets, Roger Craig Smith, who voices Kyle Crane, also voices Percy from Clarence
Ok OG Mirrors Edge Parkour will always be the best, but I agree otherwise.
Dying light still to this day has more active players on steam than dying light 2 game is still going strong
Better than a lot of modern games
Its because Harran is a paradise city
@@deadmartin6358 hahaha yeah the grass is green and the girls are pretty
I first played it thinking I may have wasted my money… then I got through a few missions and was instantly hooked on the lore, gameplay, story, environment, EVERYTHING!!!
THIS… is how you make a zombie game.
11:02 it has to do with the fact the Olympics were about to be held, and a lot of people from all around the world came there
I'm glad that UA-cam recommended your video to me.
I agree with You - 100%. Have bought it in 2019 and have 460 hours in it 😁

This was a great video. I honestly expected you to have 100x the subs :)
Hahaha thank you! We're getting there!
Always come back to check on ma boi gazi every few years or months , if momma aint happy nobody happy
Gazi is a treasure for us all. A ray of sunshine in a dark world. Thanks for watching!
dying light is one of my favourite video games and i appreciate there are people like us like you making video about particular game that isn't "that mainstream" but loved by many.
i wish dying light was more popular , like gta games.
And I appreciate you watching! Thank you!!
great content subcribed brother
Legend! Thanks so much, and welcome!
Dying light 1, Witcher 3, best of the past 10 years, and both 2015 ( witcher was made if may if i remember well, so its 10th anniversary is just in a few months )
For DL1, the music score with its 80's synth themes, that's the thing that made the atmosphere of the game so perfect to me :)
Love the soundtrack and love the Witcher 3! 2015 was a great year!
I miss playing this game. Also really well made video man. Thought I was watching a 100k sub video for sure!
Aw thanks so much for the kind words!! Appreciate it 😊
Good video! I genuinely thought that you'd have more subs but that time will come!
Hahaha that's great to hear! Thanks for the kind words :)
I play dying light since is been sold, i am proud that my country mans created it :D
Definitely something to be proud of! Techland is a massive credit to Poland :) Thanks for watching
I've been saying this for 10 years. It's a classic and damn well earned my compassion. Great video! Good night and Good luck everyone!
Thank you!!
One of my favorite video games of all time.
The graphics, side quests, map, it's all perfect.
Perfect game, better than a lot of gamee released in 2024.
I'm in love with Dying Light.
It’s crazy to think this game gets a free remaster 10 years later
Say what you want about Techland, those guys really stand out in the industry
12:10 lol, the books you can find in this little side mission are hilarious. And Crane's reaction.
"Big booty bonanza. Heh, nice."
Hopefully they add something like an Fov slider for the console versions in this new update.
As someone with 200+ hours on PlayStation who just played on PC for the first time, it makes a massive difference! Makes the game feel so much faster. Fingers crossed they add it!
Dying Light at night 👽🛌🛌.
Sunset and Outsight buildings turns the light on and off is awesome.
great video, really had high hopes that dying light 2 would be a proper successor, sadly it did not deliver
Dying Light is my favorite game of all time and that will probably never change I mean the horror I felt when I played it at 11 years old and the fun and great moments I had with friends I what make it the perfect game for me
It looks like we are getting to play as Kyle Crane again in Dying Light: The Beast
One of my fav games of all time. Easily top 3
Gotta be up there for me too!
amazing vid bro keep going
Thank you!! Glad you liked it, thanks for stopping by :)
I can always come back to the entire uncharted franchise. I play all the games once a year
This is one fine game and its sequel.
I’m looking forward to the expansion dlc to DL2.
This era of games are really the gems that stand out now.
There will be no more expansions for dl2, the beast was supposed to be an expansion but they turned it into its own game
Me and my freinds playing it again completed it in hard and we just go for nightmare now
we are having a blast like it's our first time playing it
this is my 7th or 8th run for this game including the following
it's just so good and can't wait for the next big update for it the next gen one
this will be a + new game for us
i remember watching youtubers playing it back when it was new man how time flies i remeber getting watch dogs 2 fallout 4 in 2016 for my xbox one and it was such a good time for games back then now i see lots of youtubers revisiting lots of these games that i used to play back then and i dont wanna feel old im only 18 lol but these videos geniuenly make me feel old. Im glad that i only played like 10% of the best games released in the last 20 years i have so many games to play and i only wanna get back into the same games i played because nothing new has caught my eye they just dont make games as they used to :(
Just started playing Dying Light after hearing it praised here and there and it lives up to the hype.
Enjoy the game!!
this game is by far the best non survival/non horror zombie game,it still plays pretty damn awsomely, the only things its fallen behind in is gunplay (its no call of duty ),and zombie gore wise its fallen behind dead island 2,but that game just came out in 2023 and was revolutionary in its flesh system
I jut started the game today and finished it today it was an awesome game I love it and I’m playing the following now and the DLC is amazing too.
Enjoy!!
Beat it in one day? Nope.
there was some sort of olympic games in harran is the reason for the diversity
This video is on my birthday!!! 😁
I would also say that dying light is still my favorite game of this era, maybe even my favorite game all time.
Hope the next game: The Beast, will be more like the first dying light, the said so in the trailer, so lets hope :D
Just grabbed a copy of this game from steam for 6 dollars never played this game but i think i will sink countless hours into this.
Enjoy!! Thanks for watching!
I still play this game everyday🔥🔥🔥
Great video
Thanks so much Philip!
Everything about Dying light 1 is perfect in my opinion, I don’t see this game becoming outdated for at least another 10 years
Totally agree! Thanks for watching!
Love that game and have been playing since 2016… you always learn a new ee in that game and get something new.
However I’m ONE goddamn throphy away from platinum and it’s the quest were you need to do 5 quest full squad and same people…. Every 3 or 4 man lobby are just doing harran prison
NO WAY! This is the only trophy I'm missing too 👀👀
@@GameThoughtsgood… now we need 2 or one even one person to join in, I might have a friend that can help us with that damn trophy
@botuwu7175 hit me up!! Feel free to add me on Discord if you like!
@@GameThoughtsyeah someday, also does cross play work on old dying light? I play on ps4
@botuwu7175 Ooh good question, I'm not sure it has cross-play actually
Its a shame that the second game is only half as good as the first.
left 4 dead 2 is my favert game that i have been playing for the past 10 years that never gets old
favourite
Kyle Crane is a badass character established main characters are tuff to sell to the audience
I share a birthday with Dying Light? I was today years old when I found this out
Happy belated birthday!!
My Favorite zombie game
Same here!!
First ps4 game I played in April of 2015 good times
Dying Light still fcking better than Dying Light 2. Even after all these years.
The best game for me is dying light 1 good night good luck
Play the Following
Still play this game
dying light 2 could never
Dying Light 1 is one of the best games ever made.
Fav game of the decade is Dying light
Loved it
Okey, so hear me out.
I played DL in 2018 and loved it (I still love it today) I played the NR Mode days ago with some friends and my friends never played that game they said "The game looks just as good as new titels" so ye I think that´s everything to say not even mentioning the combat/parcour etc.
You know what aged like milk? Dying light 2
My favorite zombie game
The reason there are so many diverse characters and voice actors is because the Olympic Games were being held in Harran, so you’d bet there would be many people from different backgrounds
I'm disappointed you haven't spoken about the music.
Me too, believe me! I wish I had more time to dive deeper because this game sounds like no other. The sound design is so full, but the soundtrack has this amazing synth work in it - hopefully, you can hear it in the background - that's my way of paying tribute.
My fav is dying light 1.
He was weak because he got infected
You look like a normal jshlat ❤
DL2 Tencent funded game could never🤣
