Yeah, I had to laugh at this. It just goes to show that 'fun' doesn't always mean scalpel sharp and advanced. Sometimes it's the complete opposite.

That was a funny statement, it reminded me of my old paddock basher. Blancmange suspension, no doors, no bonnet, exhaust broke off under the drivers seat area, 4 inches of steering free play, front drum brakes only, milk crate drivers seat.
As a previous reviewer/owner stated, It's the Worst Best car in the World bar non.

Great review! Thought I'd add a quick story; About 9 / 10 years ago my dad took our car to be serviced at Brands Hatch Morgans, when some prospective buyers for a 3 wheeler just came back from a test-drive, to my surprise one of the engineers there offered to take me out in that 3 wheeler for a drive. Saying "yes" was the best decision I ever made. I think it was bright orange with black chequered squares. Feeling the engine start was something I've never forgotten, it pulsated through the car as the exhausts blared into life. The drive was even more exhilarating, the wind rushing through your hair (Sorry Missenden Flyer) as the engine snarled. Needless to say they sold me on it, although it'll be many more years before I'm in any sort of position to purchase one.

What a lovely thing, an old neighbour had a 3 wheel BSA car from the late 20’s. Would be great for a seaside run in the summer.

Hi TMF! Not been out on the bikes through the C19 period and have some major practice now required to get my Rospa re-test for November.
You’ve tempted me back to watching some videos surprisingly with your Morgan review (my dad had a Bright orange +8) love the 3wheelers.
Although away from the bikes this year for my wife and we have learned to ride EUC’s electric unicycles. The learning curve and adrenaline of balancing on one wheel that does 0-30mph in 3.4 and 50mph is quite something.

This would be my no. 1 Xmas present. Even better than a TMF neck roll
Owned my M3W since 2012, and yes great fun. The engine is an S&S X-wedge and does sound great and works well with the MX5 gearbox via a torque converter. One issue I’m discovering though is catholic corrosion where the pop rivets bind the the aluminium body to the steel frame, especially at the rear end. Mine is in British racing green with RAF roundels...just great fun. I’m a biker to with my CCM and Speedmaster and hold a PPL..mmmmm a theme here me thinks👍😃

Great review, you really nailed all the technical and emotional things about driving one. I've had one of the JZR kit car versions, with bike engine, including the standard sequential box - exactly as you said, seeing those front wheels dancing around on their suspension, like you could reach out of touch them, is as close to bike riding as you can get on more than 2 wheels.
Better still its impossible to fall off it 😁

When I was a kid in the early fifties, my uncle had a couple of Morgans, so I was taken for several rides, and always loved them. They had some interesting features. The steering was lock to lock in 3/4 of a turn of the steering wheel, and to switch on to reserve, one had quickly get out of the car to operate the reserve switch. Wooden floorboards and inflatable seats helped to keep the weight below 800lbs for registration benefits. Starting was by hand cranking (beware of "kick back"). I believe several V twin engines were tried as well as the JAP (J A Prestwich), such as an 1100cc watercooled Matchless and a British Anzani. Another uncle also had a 3 wheeler, but this was a Raleigh, I think the model was the "Safety 7", and had one wheel at the front, thus offering a wider rear seat. In those days, the Morgans were considered "quick off the mark". Excellent video, TMF.

“Morgan as much fun as a motorcycle”, completely agree. Became a lucky owner of a Roadster 2 years ago and the open cockpit, mechanical feel to driving it makes you feel completely connected to the surrounding environment. Brilliant fun, but my motorcycle still first choice. Great review 👍

I remember an original morgan racing at mallory quite a number of years ago driven by a guy named Tuer with his wife or daughter acting as ballast. If memory serves that one had the matchless v twin. The sight and sound of the mogan being gunned out of the hairpin on two wheels will never leave me.thanks for a great video and stirring old memories,just need a whiff of castrol R and the jobs a goodun.

Lovely, my friend at Verrall's classic motorcycles in Handcross has a Morgan, he has had it a long while and he still grins after driving it!!!!!
Personally, I think this type of car looks better in British racing green with some stainless here and there, but that is my preference. I can totally get why you love this car with your aviation and motorcycle background......Very enjoyable video. Cheers

Andy, you've excelled yourself with this one! What a fantastic car and review. I saw recently that the new Euro emissions meant the end of these. Very sad. It looks and sounds gorgeous. Being that low to the ground reminds me of my MK1 Midget I used to have. Although it wasn't nearly as quick I used to love driving it. Brilliant!

Loved your enthusiasm for this ! I’ve spent some time in a Viking replica car, similar to this. You can lift an inside wheel if you over-cook the corners .
Yes they are great fun, this understeers so much, plus the front track is so wide, I’m not sure it would lift a wheel but it would be fun trying!

Great review as ever. I can confirm it is great to tour in. My brotuer has a standard 2018 which he has driven to Prague to visit friends, they all loved it over there. We only life about 30 miles from the Morgan factory they do a great tour. Grinnall also manufacture 3 wheel cars and trikes in worcestershire, they area part of Midwest Moto an Indian dealership. Maybe a worcestershire roadtrip for you in the summer some great roads. Keep the reviews coming !

That thing is just awesome. Very rarely we see one in SoCal. I have a friend who has a 1970's era Morgan, four wheel however. Just such an automotive anachronism.....this one was special.

I had a 3 wheeler morgan copy kit in the 80s. Fitted with a Guzzi MK2 Le Mans 850 engine. Took 2 years to build. Well worth it for the track days at Brandshatch.

Brilliant video Andy, they are great fun, as a direct comparison, and taking into account your plane passion, borrow and try a Messerschmidt KR200. With 4 reverse gears and a pilots yoke they really are fantastic!!!

Beautiful spec. Sad these are going with the engine not meeting emissions any more, but I wonder whether we get the EV3 for real. You’d lose the soundtrack but with them being all about the torque I’d imagine it’d drive pretty well.

In 10 years time there will be no doubt. The Merc will be worth buttons but the Morgan will be worth more than it cost.
As a motorcyclist for fifty years believe me they are fantastic my friend bought one three years ago i we have been racing it and hill climbing it with very little mods because you race under same ACU rules as a sidecar outfit driver passenger they are good fun. Nice one M flyer.

Nice One. I've ridden that road a few times. If you had turned right out of the lay-by, you could have gone to Walkers Tea bar at Mildenhall for a brew. Lots of bikers there too, even mid-week. Such a bummer being retired, you have to go out and ride your bike when the sun's out. It's the law! KH do a great breakfast too.
I know, I sampled it in the before times....

My Dad had a Morgan with the 1000cc JAP engine. Chain drive to back wheel and power enough to spin the back wheel away from the traffic lights, which he did regularly. He was a copper!?!?! Great fun. John CB500 fa.
Took a tour through the Morgan factory when I was in the UK in 2017. Very interesting to see the cars being made by hand. I hope you took Mrs Flyer out for a spin? Cheers from Australia.
