I’ve actually seen him a few different times. You can immediately recognize him in his signature denim. Plus he’s always driving something cool or unusual. He doesn’t just do it for the cameras, he really loves to drive. That time was special for me because I was riding my KTM and stopped next to him at a red night. He was genuinely friendly.
What I love about watching Mr.leno videos is it doesn't feel like a car commercial. It feels like I'm watching my grandpa talk about cars. Even tho he isn't that much older than me and I remember watching him late night in my 20s lol .
It probably won't use much fuel, tyres or brakes either, since it's light and has a pretty non-exotic engine! AND Morgans hold their value exceptionally well, some of them actually go up in value, so I bet the total cost of ownership on these is actually incredibly low compared to say an ordinary "nice" car like a BMW 5-series, which will drop a bunch of value as soon as you drive it away from where you purchased it!
Nice handling too, tail-happy without being snappy! And the open "cockpit" and skinny tyres all make you think you are going so much faster. You can enjoy the handling without going crazy speeds, a bit like the gt86.
I have to be completely honest and say that the driving sections of these "pandemic edition" videos are even better than the regular videos! Obviously the regular segment of talking about the car is much better and more personable too!
Jay, if there ever was an award to give to a man who has done more for raising the awareness of motorcars of all kinds, then you should be given a lifetime achievement award! You are filled with so much knowledge and have rescued so many divergent types of vehicles and then take the time to share this with us on your shows across all media. You are a world treasure to the motorcar world! Thank you for what you do and the man you are! Many of us love cars and don't have the means to do what you do and we live vicariously through you. You are the best and thank you for what you do and the obviously high standards you undertake with each car you save - and - the best part is that you drive these vehicles and appreciate them instead of just letting them sit to be dusted by someone else. I would never have cared much for this particular three-wheeled car, but you raise the bar and show us why it is noteworthy!
Sometimes I see the thumbnail for a car I don't think I would be interested in, but Jay always makes any car interesting so I watch every episode now. Its the storytelling that makes the show special.
Peter Sellars drove one in the 60's movie "The Party" That is where I first saw one and fell in love with it. Thanks Jay for sharing these wonderful and unique cars with us.
Man there is just soo much about this channel to love. The Jim Clark mural on the wall, the Lotus Evora sightings while Jay is leaving his place, the fact that as soon as he started up, I instantly thought "Sopwith Camel" only to have Jay say the same thing just minutes later. Long Live Leno!
These are such fun cars - I loved driving one last year, so expensive for what they are mind you (the one I drove was circa £50K!!) ....possibly THE most fun I've had in a car though...
Funny, as Mr Leno went over the car I thought “What about heat?”, then he discussed the jacket. Never gave a thought to heat in one of these before. Thank you for sharing.
I seem to recall that way back in the past some of the British guys who'd been in the RAF in WW2 on bombers adapted their heated bomber jackets(which you kinda need at 20,000 feet in a plane with open holes in it) to work in open top cars.
I remember back in 2011 when I was doing work experience at the Morgan factory and I found out that Jay was visiting later that day. I managed to get a photo with him in the 3-Wheeler but I was so starstruck I didn't know what to say. Still made for a good story the next day at school though.
Jay, you've got it just right. It's all about the driving feel. I paused the video to look up the weight. Power-to-weight ratio? Brilliant! A little over 1,100 lbs. with 115 HP? Perfect. Thanks again for a great episode.
I love this man! I’m not afraid to scream it from the rooftops. I LOVE JAY LENO!!! When Morgan announced they were going to be building these, I immediately got on the list, but I guess that didn’t go very far. I was with my GF in a Beverly Hills and saw it drive by- I had to leave the store and follow the car... Never saw who was driving it. BLESS YOU, JAY! BLESS YOU!!!
I too own a 2014 Morgan Three Wheeler. I am now the 3rd owner having bought the car from a gentleman in Houston. Such a joy to drive as you pointed out. Thanks for adding this car to your pandemic series! Definitely not an introvert’s car!
I don't watch all of Jay's series, but when I do watch them .. I feel like I learn something new every time! I think Jay will become our generation's car historian with all of his series. The only thing good about the pandemic is my weekly one on one with Jay Leno. I really like this format. It's much more personal. Maybe after things get back to 'normal' we can still get one of these types of videos on occasion. Thanks again Jay
Greetings from the UK, the Morgan factory is about 8 miles from where I live and I have never been there, must visit and see these quirky cars some time, and great review as always..
This is a dream car of mine. It's the antidote of the sterile modern automotive industry, where everything has to be "smart" and efficient. I saw one at a car show once and it was sad to see nobody paying attention to it, it was surrounded by motorcycles which are much more of the liking of the average person. I will probably never be able to own one, but driving it in Assetto Corsa is so much fun. Just seeing the thumbnail put a huge smile in my face, like few things do these days. Between this and the reveal of Gordon Murray's T50s, today was a good day. Thank you Jay.

I got to ride in one of the original Morgan’s when I was a kid and it really did feel like we were flying in a piper cub or similar aircraft, thanks for the memories Jay!
I will never forget this video because a house fire started above me half way through. Now I'm back from getting stitches in my hand from breaking in through a window. I put it out. Everything is fine except my hand and the window. Fun times Jay. Fun times.

Maybe thinking of Polaris Slingshot. CAN AM Spyder is a sit on 3-wheeler handles like a snowmobile. IMHO Morgan may not get on it like the Slingshot but its got more character.
Another thing with regards to the road tax was three wheelers were known as tricycles and the early ones didn’t have a reverse gear, so the tax was the same as a motorcycle. Glad to see you enjoying a quirky piece of British history Mr Leno. A lot of fun without having to spend a lot of money.
I had the joy of spending an hour driving one of these in Feb 2020 in Southern England. I've driven cars made by Porsche, Aston Martin, Lotus, Ferrari and Lamborghini. This is, hands down, the most fun car I have ever driven on the public road.

Jay is SUCH a freaking GOOD GUY!!!!!!!!!!... one of the very few famous people, who are basically just like the average person.... Jay is a solid dude.... Very nice, and legit person. He has heart, and passion, and that is wonderful!!!
You can drive a 3 wheeler on a motorcycle licence in the UK (providing its under a certain weight). This was a big attraction when they were first made.
Jay: wears a heated jacket to keep warm, although torso is well protected from the wind. Also Jay: head up unprotected in the wind. haha I kinda hope he continues to do future episodes like this, no camera crew, no nonsense. It's super chilled and honest in a way. Like you are in the garage with him having a beer and talking about cars, motorcycles and good old stories.
While the fighter plane reference is appropriate, it'd likely be just the one for when the driver was texting and didn't realize the light was green. Morgan 3wheelers may be a motorcycle type back-road cruising experience and beautifully balanced, but the factory engine (89kw/136nm), drive wheel traction (only ~31% of the slightly over 550kg curb weight) means even with the short gearing that makes ratios so fun to switch through low speed corners, it won't exactly drag racing anything. You can unironically launch any a base spec golf (or basically any of the other post 2015 euro hatches with more than 1400cc) harder and get a simlar 0-60, or for the bigger sedans any of the BMW/Merc v8's since the 90's will finish a quarter faster. The Morgan was just never about producing good on paper numbers or shaving tenths off a track time reliably, instead its an experience, a look/uniqueness that no factory sport package can bring to a cookie cutter commuter car, and for that reason I dearly hope they can find a way to keep them safe and clean enough to maintain some limited production for the next decade or so... but your not gaining any trophies in it anytime soon.
@Suck my Bollackits Ahh yes, how could we ever beat the wisdom of a3 day old troll account. Is "Suck my Bollackits" the first name for this entity, or have you already renamed a few times?

As it is refreshing that while every other manufacturer chases the new...they shrugged their shoulders and continued to make their classics in traditional ways....that still standout from the crowd. I often wish that other companies would take a look at their back catalogues and produce some modern retro's too!
It's a blessing that someone with his resources is interested and clued up enough to keep all the really interesting stuff still working, a rich man's hobby done right with a lot of historically significant stuff kept in good working condition for future generations to hopefully find it as interesting as we do!
That's the difference. Jay drives his cars whilst others just admire them, usually in a closed collection not viewable by the public. I'm very grateful Jay chooses to share his collection and his driving experiences with others.
Hi Mr Leno, Morgan has a new 3 wheeler, the super 3. Having fun driving is not just about the car, it's also about the roads. In Quebec, we have the most thrilling roads in the Laurentians Mountains. Narrow roads with a succession of curves going up and down like a roller coaster that will make you feel like a kid again. Even if we are in a northern climate, we have more than just three days to enjoy riding in an open cockpit, but if you only have three days, I could show you around! Have a nice day!
Really cool new episode Jay, I really enjoy hearing you go through the history and changes of a vehicle, the evolution over the years and the problems that caused the change.
loved the canyon roads, long time you were not up there anymore.Looked like freedom , something we begin to have forgotten how it feels. But even if pandemic was over, please Jay, keep the shows exactly this way, everybody adores.Maybe for you it isnt that funny when the team is missing....Keep safe and thanks for all those efforts
I'm from Minnesota. I did sixth grade in SoCal long ago. If the temperature hit 50 ( F ), I had classmates who came to school wearing parkas and mittens. They asked me if I was cold. My standard response was," You people don't know what cold is."
Back in my racing days, I had a guy on my team who was a Vietnam "Graduate." He was from the same city in Wisconsin as me, but te said, after a few months in 'Nam, if the temperature dropped to the 70s, he'd bundle up in a flight jacket and gloves whenever he had to leave his hooch---which was heated by a 50 gallon drum stove fired with aviation gas. It drove home the meaning of "acclimatized." I've also heard native Floridians can tell non natives at a glance by whether or not they have beads of sweat on their faces---and now, in my Old Age, I have my thermostat set at 76 and find myself shivering. Yikes. "Aging is not for wimps," is so true! Stay safe.
A leather helmet and goggles would be perfectly justifiable when you're driving one of those. (At least a pair of sunglasses would be prudent, given the chance of something hitting the eyes.)
This ride along was so much fun! It was like I was in the passenger seat with Jay enjoying the drive and every ounce of noise the S&S was making. It truly was almost like being there! Then it was the end. I really wanted to go to the snow line with him. Maybe next time!
I absolutely love Morgan, especially the 3 wheeler. I hope to be able to afford one some day. With the fighter plane livery it looks alot like the one Richard Hammond drove on Top Gear. If I had one I'd want to wear a white scarf and a leather helmet with goggles so I looked the part. Thanks.
The comment about driving fast in the original 3 wheeler made me laugh. At one point in the early 2000s, my sole transport was a 1970 MG Midget. My daily commute entailed leaving early, flogging it toward my destination and arriving late with a boiling radiator, then bump starting it in winter as the 20amp generator was willing but not always able. I have a Morgan models print on my wall and they are definitely a beautiful piece of automobile history. Thanks for filming this episode.
Jay, I much prefer the videos that you do with just your cars and no guests. Please keep doing these post pandemic. And seeing underneath them too is great.
My uncle always had 3 wheelers as he only had a motorbike licence. Sent it off to the dvla for change of address in the 70's,came back as a full licence. Bye bye reliant! Ta very much
These are cool little cars, and look great fun to drive on open country roads. Another reason for the 3 wheel configuration was that, in the UK, you can drive a three wheeled car on a motorcycle license, you don't need to have a full car license. I actually have two small framed photos on my wall of my great grandfather sitting in his three wheeled Morgan two seater runabout, from around 1915/16, reg no, LR 2390. Small, inexpensive cars like this enabled many lower income families to enjoy motoring for the first time.
@@MrLundefaret Slingshot is a totally different beast. Spyder is a sit on vehicle and handles a lot like its snowmobile predecessor. Slingshot is a sit-in much like the Morgan but with a car engine and car tires for much different handling than either of the other two.
@@alanploetz7100 Yes, but you talked about the predecessor. The Morgan Three Wheeler is a three wheeled car. The Can Am is a snowmobile with wheels. The Slingshot is a three wheeled car with more grip and a stronger engine. So I would argue that the Slingshot has a lot more in common with the Morgan than the Can Am. But its OK if you don't agree.
Thank you Mr. Leno for featuring this car. I love the vintage style too( It is my favorite part.). When I’m older and retired I might try to get one of these. The fun factor from riding so low seems to be too good to pass up. Take care my friend and stay safe. 😊 ✌️
It used to be the case that you could drive a three-wheeler on a motorbike licence, rather than a car licence, which made it more accessible to a lot of people...
Love your Morgan 3 wheeler. Brings back memories of a Citroen 2CV based three wheel kit car , a Lomax 223. Built it in 1991 and used it every day for 9 years ,rain or shine and it had no roof, just a tonneau with a centre zip, when we sold it. We called it “Tizunt” because as we drove past people they would say look a Morgan, which it “Tizunt” Love you UA-cam channel.
The propane Morgans used the 215 cid/3.5 Liter GM aluminium (British pronunciation) V8 which British Leyland when was a young lad. That should add to the appeal of American/British hybrids of our young and your garage. Thanks for sharing your stories/cars! God Bless!
115 would have to be perfect conditions and you still couldn’t pay me! I’ve hit 85 and that’s about my limit. The car gets a bit “flighty” in the lane over 80.
@@loganfutbol21 It'd probably feel totally different out on the salt or an airstrip where your "lane" is dozens of meters wide, and surrounded mostly by open flat land instead of vehicles/barriers to crash into. Its disturbingly easy to actually overrun the end of runway in a normal car because it doesn't feel like your moving fast, or really even approaching it at all, then suddenly the thresholds passed... unlike an aircraft where your looking down from enough height that it feels continuously approaching.
Now THIS is a Jay Leno's Garage video I love. I love when you feature vintage (all though this Morgan is not) and non-American cars, the type of cars people know less about. Good thing you didn't hit a pot hole in the middle of the road while filming, the only true enemy of a 3 wheeler :)

Oh a Morgan that Richard Hammond hasn't crashed.
Yet. There is still a chance he will.
Mr. Leno beat him to it.
Give it time
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall Hammond ever crashing a Morgan. He loves Morgan's
Give him time...
I love jay leno, you know he Is rich as hell, Has these cars most of us can only dream about but he still comes across as just a regular guy
You nailed it.
It's a blessing that someone with his resources is interested and clued up enough to keep all the really interesting stuff still working, a rich man's hobby done right with a lot of historically significant stuff kept in good working condition for future generations to hopefully find it as interesting as we do!
Hey Jay! I love your car collection and the fact that you actually drive them!
That's the difference. Jay drives his cars whilst others just admire them, usually in a closed collection not viewable by the public. I'm very grateful Jay chooses to share his collection and his driving experiences with others.
Love how Jay had the foresight to mount a camera on the side so we could watch & listen to the sidepipe exhaust! He is a great cameraman!

thanks Jay!!! Thumbs up this comment
for Appreciation of JAY LENO!✨🌟✨🌟
Thumbs up this comment for appreciation of losers begging for online likes lol.
Hi Mr Leno,
Morgan has a new 3 wheeler, the super 3.
For us, here in Cali, if the temp. drops to 50 or less, it's darn cold, ant if it goes above 80 degrees, it's scorching hot! :-)
Stay safe.
These pandemic videos are the best. Just Jay, us, and the motor vehicle.
13.38: That lorry coming up looked ominous from the low angle of the Morgan.
Bus*
@@Zzutubez I stand corrected, thank you.
I thought about the gas tank located right behind Jay. Not much protection in a rear end.
All part of the adventure, in a Morgan, everything amplified.
It sure did.
I don't envy many people but Jay Leno does live the life.
"if your in Quebec there's about 3 days you can use it" - love it
Maybe three months?
Always loved Morgan’s , my grandpa has always had them
You needed a pair of goggles to look really cool Jay !!!👀👀
And a flying jacket.
@@ianjoyce5120 Yeah, and we can't forget the scarf, " Snoopy "😁😁
@@ianjoyce5120
And a Biggles scarf 🧣
LL Cool Jay?
No bro. The glasses need Jay to look cool. 😎
Those are such cool cars and when you see them in person they have such an attention to detail.
A leather helmet and goggles would be perfectly justifiable when you're driving one of those. (At least a pair of sunglasses would be prudent, given the chance of something hitting the eyes.)
Just the wind will bother your eyes. You need eye protection for this.
@@vika0194 It has windshields
@@artofshootinginmotion2871 Won’t help you. Just look at them.
@@vika0194 Even the smaller one on KTM works well with air moving away from in in speed. Form Jay face it looks like they are enugh
I'd say the leather helmet and goggles were a prerequisite for driving a 3 wheel Morgan. Oh, and a scarf.
A modern Morgan 3 wheeler is #2 on my bucket list. Thank you for the ride Jay!
I really enjoy watching your videos jay so relaxing and I get to learn cool things about cars
Thanks.
Hope you will enjoy it once...
😀
The comment about driving fast in the original 3 wheeler made me laugh. At one point in the early 2000s, my sole transport was a 1970 MG Midget. My daily commute entailed leaving early, flogging it toward my destination and arriving late with a boiling radiator, then bump starting it in winter as the 20amp generator was willing but not always able. I have a Morgan models print on my wall and they are definitely a beautiful piece of automobile history. Thanks for filming this episode.
Peter Sellers drove a Morgan in "The Party".. check it out
perhaps the funniest film ever xD
Hrundi V. Bakshi =)
First thing I thought of. May have been his funniest movie. “Gotcha Injun!”
How-dee Paht-i-nehrd!
Jay, I much prefer the videos that you do with just your cars and no guests. Please keep doing these post pandemic. And seeing underneath them too is great.
The real reason the 3 wheeler was built was because you can drive them on a motorbike license in GB. No car license needed!
Agreed, Tim but in earlier years reverse gear had to be blanked off or otherwise disabled or you needed the car license.
@@jamesoates1334 I didn't know that James 👍
My uncle always had 3 wheelers as he only had a motorbike licence. Sent it off to the dvla for change of address in the 70's,came back as a full licence. Bye bye reliant! Ta very much
My late dad, born 1916 passed his motorcycle test (on a Douglas) in UK; he drove cars all his adult life.. he never had to take a car driving test.
was drivers liscense for cars hard to come by
Short but sweet ! I think this means both the show and the Morgan Jay. Thanks Jay. Very much appreciated.
Hello from the UK Jay! All the best.
Irishman in London here. Hey from Irelamd & England. 👌😜👌
Hi from Scotland!
We just need someone from Wales to complete it now!
Mother in law lives on Anglesey-does that count?(My UA-cam account image is taken driving through one of the Conwy tunnels)
The 3-wheel tax situation also affected the UK version of the Isetta. The 3-wheeler was much more popular thanks to the tax benefits.
...and you could drive it on a motorbike licence, which was a big plus.
The predecessor to the Can-Am Spyder, at least that's what it looks like.Neat paint job and nod to the WW II nose designs of some planes.
It's hilarious that you can get snow track and ski kits for the Spyder now. Seeing how it was borne by putting tires on a snowmobile.
Or the Polaris Slingshot
I love Jay's videos! He always manages to put a smile on my face.
I can’t explain why I want one of these so bad. I really want one though.
I cannot explain aswell... I bought one after seeing this.. :)
@@guyfromfrance You lucky guy!
We called it “Tizunt” because as we drove past people they would say look a Morgan, which it “Tizunt”
Love you UA-cam channel.
12:35 driver was jealous of you Jay.
The propane Morgans used the 215 cid/3.5 Liter GM aluminium (British pronunciation) V8 which British Leyland when was a young lad. That should add to the appeal of American/British hybrids of our young and your garage. Thanks for sharing your stories/cars! God Bless!
The sound remains me of driving a go cart
Only if it's a Harley Davidson powered golf cart!
Ahhh, soothing. Could watch these vids all day.
Remembering when Hammond drove this..
He did some 'Tight' Donuts =)
I love it! I've ridden motorcycles all my life, and if the weather is bad, three wheels are okay. (I live in Michigan) Outstanding.
Imagine doing 115mph in this, would feel like flying a Spitfire, so much fun.
And then bugs in your face
More like a Jenny in a dive, I'd think
115 would have to be perfect conditions and you still couldn’t pay me! I’ve hit 85 and that’s about my limit. The car gets a bit “flighty” in the lane over 80.
@@loganfutbol21 I bet the pucker factor at that speed is quite intense
S&S 82hp
Mine is a 2013 and is build # in the 900’s
I love it when he's just pottering around and it's not staged what's so ever. The most watched old man struggled with British car ever
The main point of the 3 wheelers such as the Morgan and the Reliant Robin was that it could be driven on a Motor Bike license
Yip, and you pay tax. he got that whole bit horribly wrong
Jay has the best life. I wish I could be 1/1000th as happy as he is.
