You water the way I do . Except I take the little piece out of the tip of the wand that makes it a fine spray . That way , I get a nice stream of water and I can water without getting the leaves wet . I just put the end of the wand right up to the soil and squeeze the trigger . Works great. The pumping gets old . But it helps me reach plants way in the back on my shelves that I could never reach without the wand 😊. Love your videos. Your voice is just so relaxing 😌. Thank you 😊

I got rid of my gnat problem with diatomaceous earth. What I do is kind of messy, but it works. I spray my trays and pots with my mealy bug solution (1/2 water, 1/2 alchohol, and 10 drops of dish soap) and then I use a shaker to spread the diatomaceous earth around the wet tray. It's like dusting a cake pan with flour. The diatomaceous earth doesn't work when it's wet, but if you get a good coating on your trays it doesn't wash away for some time. I really feel it helps with other pests as well. I'm in hot humid Alabama and I really have very little problems with pests since I started doing this practice.
Thanks for the confirmation. I recently started experimenting on DE with my soil mix and have found positive results with it. Still doing other DE methods/experiments.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK The DE only works when it is dry, but as you know if you are watering properly the soil spends a good amount of time dry. I think you will be pleased. Love your videos! I've learned a ton!

You are amazing Liz. I wonder if you would mind helping me out? What's the combined wattage of your Marsh Hydro SP3000 grow lights and how close is it safe to hang above the plants? What is the bulb wattage I need for 4' x 2' balcony space outside my flat?
Input power at 300W. Distance range will depend on seedlings(24inch) or mature plants (12 to 24 inch) depending on the plant. For your balcony, you'll get away with a smaller model like the TS600 which is 100Watt.
You can also get some carnivorous plants like Pinguiculas. They attract fungus gnats and the gnats get caught on the sticky stuff on the leaves and get digested. That is what plant nurseries use. They also have beautiful flowers. Look them up on the internet.
Fungus Gnat Solution: Part one: Spray with Reclaim I/T (has a 90 day residual control effect). Drench water with Mosquito Bits (4 tbls = 1 gallon water, let soak for 1 hour). Seive out "bits" and drench your plants. Guaranteed you won't have Fungas Gnats in 30 days. Keep "traps" up to monitor control.
You're in luck Mildred. I just uploaded a Mars Hydro FC3000 LED grow light and tent set-up video. I was using the Mars Hydro SP3000 in this video which I'm really happy with. The new video would be worth watching also. Cheers

Most likely sticky leaves on indoor plants is a sign that you have an infestation of scales, tiny insects that latch onto your plant and suck out its moisture, excreting it as this sticky substance called honeydew. Scales won’t necessarily harm your plant, but a large infestation can stunt growth and the honeydew can get everywhere. It’s best to get rid of them if you can. 1 second of 1 minute, 53 secondsVolume 0% First, check to see if it is scale that is causing your sticky plant foliage. Look at the undersides of the leaves and the stem. Scale insects appear as tiny bumps that are tan, brown, or black in color and look kind of like seashells. What you’re looking at is the insects’ hard outer shells that are impervious to insecticidal soap. There are a few ways to get around this. One way is suffocation. Apply a horticultural oil or soap to the plant - it won’t get through the scales’ armor but it will stop them from breathing through it. Another option is to dissolve the scales’ armor. Using a soft cloth or cotton swab, apply 2 tsp. (9 ml.) of dish detergent mixed with a gallon (3.5 L.) of water to the plant, then wipe it again with clean water. Alternatively, apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab. Try to wipe away as many scales as possible without harming the plant. You may have to repeat these process every couple of weeks to get all the insects. If the infestation is heavy, follow up with a routine spray of insecticidal soap. Be sure to lay a piece of plastic wrap over your plant’s soil before taking any ac Read more at Gardening Know How: Sticky Plant Foliage: What Causes Sticky Plant Leaves www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/hpgen/sticky-plant-leaves.htm
