I wish it was a crime to not have software uninstall completely. I miss the days where software would be ALL installed in a set of folders in the directory that you specified (or accepted where the software default installed to). Uninstalling used to be deleting the top level folder. The registry is WAY overused. Most things should install the way the softwares do that let you install a "portable" version in a USB drive. The other reason that the BS of programs installing all over the place and multiple registry entries is sometimes you want CLEAN install of something. You uninstall it and even when it asks you if you want to remove all settings you select yes. Then you reinstall a fresh version of whatever software we are talking about and guess what - all the settings were not deleted as you suddenly have the exact same settings that you customized in the software that you supposedly completely uninstalled and removed all settings for. totally awesome that you made this video but just look at what you had to go through, and you know what you are doing, just to do what the j-holes that make these programs are too lazy or stupid to do with their "uninstall" routines.
I like to use iobit uninstaller... And has a monitoring function, so you can completely uninstall a program that doesn't have an uninstaller, and I like to use everything to be able to find remnants and remove them! That pretty well worked for me every time I needed to, unless something was locked in which case I used I open unlocker to unlock and delete a file ... And in reg edit, I would hit f3 / delete / enter / f3 ... No need to use the mouse! However, by using IObit uninstaller for monitoring installations, there's usually no need for that! It keeps records of all of the folders, files, and registry entries ...
Yes, it is good to use a utility program to uninstall programs, this is one reason why I don't install any free or trial period programs, because many times they leave behind the tracker part. Do the uninstalling by hand/manually can be tricky because when you are changing the registry, if you make a mistake, things won't run right and you can't fix the problem even if you reinstall your original program.
Hej Brian, thanks for the video. Yes, this can be a problem sometimes. I use Wise Program Uninstaller, which I find very good. It can uninstall most things, even programs that don't want to be uninstalled. It also has a nice interface and provides a lot of other useful information about the programs installed on the computer. Take care Brian jag önskar dej en trevlig lördag kväll.
Every time Microsoft do an update (unwanted update) I cannot get rid of the apps and programms they have foisted on my commputer. This time they forced me to have copilot and Bing which I managed to remove last time but not this time. Is there a way to remove copilot?
I always select standalone/portable option if available during install. Can be run from NAS on any computer accessible (OS permitting of course). Gives other benefits, too, like config resemblance, licensing, avoiding registry bloat, etc. Okay, LAN slows down a bit, but what's the hurry... Big big programs better install local, of course. Most programs can be modified portable with a little effort with .dll's and other possibly corresponding files. "Everything" is a great assistant there.
Great video. One question though, I want to delete a program for example by a company call "EaseUS Disk Copy" but I am also using this company for other purposes like "EaseUS disk partition (which I don't want to remove) ; so in this case, I may run the risk of deleting the wrong entry ya?
You gotta be careful because YES you might risk deleting something you don't want. Sometimes if we have 2 or more programs from the same company and we don't want one, it's better to uninstall all of them and then install the one we want.
Have you done any videos on computer randomly shuting off and back on mine seems to do so more ofen when i have both my monitors going ran system checks checked for loose connections....I'm inclined to think power supply but any chance you can help with a video to help trouble shoot....intel i9 10900k evga 3080 32g 3600mhz kingston fury mem 1 tb sada ssd and just added 1 tb mvme ssd with kraken x63 aio water cooler from nzxt with 850 w gold ps with a msi carbon gaming z590 wifi
Back in the day when I still worked in the industry, I remember doing something like this for a customer. Would have been quicker to do a clean re-install of windows (Windows 2000 Pro), but the customer said NO. Cost them more to have me spend ages in regedit. Excellent video as per always.
*was going to say the same thing, i didn't listen to some customers i backed up their stuff etc. do a clean install and charge them as what they wanted. these were entitled people. treated them accordingly*
None of these methods seem to work all that well if you are trying to uninstall the really annoying HP Touchpoint Analytics client and associated nuisances installed in many OEM HP computers. They are installed as Microsoft signed drivers and no matter how often you try to get rid of them (deleting services and whatnot), they reappaer after random windowsupdates. Doing a clean install from other media than HP's own recovery partition might work. Or just nuke anything starting with HP* in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository (might be risky). Other OEMs do this as well but HP is the most annoying by far.
mcafee was the first program I uninstalled after buying the laptotp, but there are certainly enough files left.is it possible to delete it?after uninstalling the program, there are "agents" left in the system that keep track of when I reinstall the program. For example, the trial free version that won't let me run twice.🙂
Revo has and options even if its not listed . It will allow you type in program name and it will find . I Honestly dont recommended messing with registry 🎉 . Take time trying several programs. If you do it your self . You might delete important files that are needed by the system ..ect. i been using revo for very long and it uninstalled hardest program 🎉
If say im on a fairly high end custom build pc due to the infamous dism restoreheath commad after scannow find and repaired corruption never ending cycle faulty mb from say 1 ( beware nzxt and there cs and honring waranty ) ff a bit and the amount of times I've installed and uninstall certain progams think imma check this out
Thanks for the video for advanced users. My advise to the video is, if the program dosn't harm the system and you have lot of space on the pc, let the progam stay where it is . Stop the program for running in background, and forget about it ubtil you have to make a clean install in time. If the pc works correctly, don't try to "fix" it. Revo uninstaller and Everything is great programs. I.m surpriced that this Easeus program has no proper uninstaller. (hope it was just an example)
Hibit Uninstaller ftw, it force uninstall mode can do folders can automatically search up related folder and registry keys too. It's free and portable unlike the garbage Revo that people keep repeating in comment like some bot.
I use a program called unlocker which allows me, the admin, to uninstall programs that I, as the admin, aren't allowed to because I need admin permission(from myself). Windows is crap!!
This is so stupid . The Windows system needs these traces so it can run without errors. These are just some traces that won't cause anything negatively to your system and are there just in case . If you delete these traces and windows needs to read or see was installed on you system and can't find them that will cause some errors . Just use your default Uninstaller people and dont install crap on your system . Just be careful what you install.
Never heard of that "Everything" program.
Looks really good.
Works a treat

@ronaldlee3537 I KNOW THAT ALL TOO WELL! I've broken my computer by doing that WAY TOO MANY TIMES! 😸

Or use Revo Uninstaller.. 🤷🏻
Revo Uninstaller won't work in the normal way, watch the video

Thank you, Brian. 👍🏼
My pleasure!
Reminds me how I used to remove cracked Nero burning program long time ago. 😂

Reinstall windows using a custom ISO... sorry m8 no easy way
Run the following powershell command in an elevated powershell window:
get-appxpackage *copilot* | remove-appxpackage
UA-cam removed the asterisks that should appear on both sides of the word copilot.
Can you try PrivWindoze? It aims to remove Copilot and more

Another great program is " Uninstall Tool ".... Thanks for yet another great video...
Thanks m8. I would try this by myself later.
At least i had other programs to do full completely uninstall software

So far my third party uninstaller has not failed, and it's an old uninstaller, works for me
Sir I have installed the windows 11 24H2 but now it has problems in Microsoft website they removed 23H2 iso. Pls help to retrieve the 23H2 genuine iso
Why would you not just use the link in the start menu to find the application install path?
Some programs are more stubborn
I knew where the path was, you can use shortcut or search for program
