It doesn't take a whole video. Basically, they're hardware developers, and have very talented programmers, but UI/UX design is not programming, even though programmers are the ones who have to implement it. So basically, they're specialized at the wrong thing, and can do a "good enough" job so it ships. Source: I'm a programmer who also does UI/UX design.

you probably know this already but this is for others who dont and are skeptical of the "freaking out"; your screen freaking out when you uninstall programs via this application is it running command line executions via command prompt, which auto close the window instantly because its likely just single executions of deleting files and registry entries, which is why it looks like a ton of command prompt windows are flashing in and out of existence. it's a normal thing and nothing to worry about. you can do many of those things revo does yourself but that takes a long time because you have to write all the scripts to do it, but they all generally follow the same template.

Yeah. When I removed Armoury Crate I found out it's better to use a program that Asus made (they install so much junk you need a second program made to uninstall it... Wtf Asus...). And it does this same thing, a bunch of cmd windows start flashing uninstalling all the crap they installed.

Been that way as long as I can remember so far as custom uninstallers. Main culprits have always been GPU and antivirus software, in my experience. Jay really should have rebooted though and possibly ran CCleaner for orphan files and invalid reg keys. Revo is good for really stubborn programs, though I trust custom uninstallers more (used IObit before and others I can't even remember anymore).

Jay - You're a lifesaver! I've used Revo in the past but had forgotten about it. I've watched your channel for quite some time, and enjoy your presentations. This one on Revo proved VERY useful! I use Opera as my primary browser - have used it since version 1 , it is now at 106!
Recently I was having trouble logging into my bank's website, though I have had no problems in the past. I have Opera (same build on my laptop and desktop). I could log in just fine on the desktop but kept getting errors on my laptop and could not log in. Chatting with the bank's tech support was no help. After trying everything I could think of (I'm well-versed in computers) I saw your video.
I installed Revo on my laptop and ran it to delete Opera completely, then reinstalled. Tried logging into my bank, had no problem! Apparently there was some crap in the registry or wherever that was causing the problem and Revo may it go bye-bye!

As someone who's worked for a while when I was younger on these problematics at a large scale, I can tell you the main reason why so many config files, registry, etc... are left behind by many windows installers, including litterally Windows Installer, the installation engine for MSI files, is that most people have no clue what the're doing. It's kind of sad, knowing one of the main reasons for Windows Installer to exist in the first place was to solve this issue. And for other more or less standard installers, well... If people can script config installation, they should know how to script removal. (come on, even the potential "keep my settings for later" thing should be an option, not something by default. But hey, people who can't script shit properly in one direction can't script shit properly in the opposite direction I guess ^^')
At least it's a good thing that options exist to clean this mess, but come on... That's just... sad. :D

This is old news, IObit Uninstaller had this feature years ago, I used to use it to completely (or FORCIBLY) uninstall things like Norton or Macaffee (some were unable to uninstall, so IObit uninstaller could force uninstall files by renaming and deleting). Only problem is, once the Ads became the norm and bloatware, IObit unfortunately went that route as well, along with putting things behind paywalls

Some files are naturally going to be left behind until next reboot because they’re still in use. Do those reboots when suggested and they’re being queued up for deletion upon reboot. Mostly.

Finally! This fixed a problem I've had with Razor Synapse. I use two different Razor mice and for some reason only one started to show up in Synapse. Been uninstalling and reinstalling Synapse for weeks and multiple times but nothing changed. With this I completely removed everything and reinstalled Synapse and now everything shows up in the program. Thank you!

Sure enough they had me use this tool and reinstall the program and it worked perfectly. Been using it to uninstall everything instead of control panel and has fixed so many weird bugs

Can't believe I didn't know about this. But I wonder if it can get too aggressive and delete something another program (or Windows!) might need. I would do the restore point thing, test drive for awhile and then delete the restore point if I need space maybe.

10:42 lists every feature that's in the free and pro versions, there is literally nothing new that has gone behind a paywall since this video came out. How do I know? I'm on their website right now looking, so unless they changed something and then changed it back since you've left this comment, all anyone else has to do is go on their website and look at their comparison table to see that you're spreading misinformation.

❌Forced Uninstall - remove remnants of already uninstalled programs
    ❌Extended scanning for leftovers

I discovered REVO years ago. The startup is a bit odd because, I think, it's listing the 'easy' stuff to find. Simply wait until the whole list is loaded. REVO is a god-send for my work. I use the Revo Uninstaller Portable which is a stand-alone that I can also run from USB.
The $25 is really worth it if you want to do some major cleaning out. (I'm looking at you NORTON!)
    Great video. Thanks!!!
