Its great that the cast came back to reprise their roles as Mystery Inc., even Neil Fanning (who was voicing Scooby-Dooby-Doo in the first film) and Matthew Lillard (as Norville "Shaggy" Rogers) came back! How groovy and awesome is that??
Some people say that Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. is the BEST Scooby-Doo TV show ever (probably better than the original Scooby-Doo TV shows and some of the recent shows). Not to mention several Hanna-Barbera characters appear in the show like Jabberjaw, Speed-Buggy, The Funky Phantom, Captain Caveman, Dynomutt & Blue-Falcon and sometimes Jonny Quest and his crew appears as cameos. I hope you'll talk about that show soon.

Something really cool about this movie is that in the bonus features, a bunch of the extras from the Faux Ghost get interviewed in character as the people behind the monsters. There's a guy who talks about his love for special effects and other who talks about how he grew up on the boardwalk selling cotton candy, which of course inspired his monster, The Cotton Candy Glob.
The fire extinguisher against the “blob” or the oil man or whatever, is a reference to the movie The Blob which was killed or stopped by an extinguisher and then helicoptered to Antarctica

If you think about it the movies are made backwards... the first one gives us a brand new villain in an all new setting while the second one gives us well know villains from the cartoon in a setting we all know and love... It's supposed to do the other way around. Give us what we know in the first movie then introduce us to an all new setting and new villain like with the main masked villain.
The second is DEFINITELY way better the first one feels weird because it takes them away from all the monsters they've been surrounded by and plops em in a new place and we just have to go along with it lol but with the second one it feels like the ultimate scooby doo movie because of how epic they make the threat, the monsters, and the setting

Personally, I think this movie is hilarious. It’s just so silly. But no matter what you think about the humor or the romance, you have to admit this one is way more heartfelt!! There’s serious, somber parts that had child me crying, from sadness and from heartwarming that even get me crying today! It’s a silly movie about a silly show but it somehow really digs into your heart strings making you think of the sad truth that sometimes childhood friends fall apart but also makes you feel the nostalgic joy of childhood friends. I can’t really explain, but the serious moments are just so warm. Even the sad ones. I love it.

I have both movies on DVD. The first one is one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time and the second one is one of my top 5 favorite sequels of all time. Both movies are fun and entertaining. But what I like about the first one more is the supernatural element of it. Instead of the monsters being fake they're real. And by turning some of the gang members into monsters themselves means the film has stakes and I liked that. Making Scrappy the big bad I thought was a great twist. What I liked about the second one is that the story gets back to basics where it's someone in a mask. They are the best live action Scooby-Doo movies to date.

I love how I remember absolutely nothing about the first movie but I remember this one and treasure it in my childhood and then he's the complete opposite it's so funny to me

These first two movies are genuinely so good. I love how much they joke with the inherently silly concept of Scooby-Doo.
Fun fact, I was terrified of this movie dueto one scene in particular: the Shaggy gender bend scene. Freaked me the fuck out lol

for a long time before i got back into scooby doo i forgot there was this second movie but i had the vivid memories of things from it and i knew they werent in the first one lol it was a relief for me to have known they werent fake memories when i rewatched it
the lab scene stuck with me forever. i wouldnt say it haunted me cause it wasnt a bad thing, i more so thought it was fun as a kid to see scoob and shag have all that stuff happen to them

I have both movies on DVD. The first one is one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time and the second one is one of my top 5 favorite sequels of all time. Both movies are fun and entertaining. But what I like about the first one more is the supernatural element of it. Instead of the monsters being fake they're real. And by turning some of the gang members into monsters themselves means the film has stakes and I liked that. Making Scrappy the big bad I thought was a great twist. What I liked about the second one is that the story gets back to basics where it's someone in a mask. They are the best live action Scooby-Doo movies to date.
I loved these movies and always watched them around Halloween
