If you could give out one advice to someone in a similar position to me, what would it be? I think it’s only the right thing to do for us to help each other push forward!

The worst days in recovery are better than the best days in relapse. It gets easier the more you form new habits 💛

I used to struggle gaining weight for a long while, but started drinking weight gainer shakes once every other day and treated it like a protein shake after work outs (I used the one from bodylab). It did wonders for me! Once I was at a more stable weight I was happy with I continued eating normally (a little more than I did when under weight). Best of luck on your journey!

The energy put into an ED can be much better used to create a happy, fulfilling life. Our mind deserves peace

'ello - how are you bud? - in Ubud 😁 - after all our previous comments and whatnot I have at this point only just discovered what the issue has been - the abbreviation ED was not familiar and it didn't seem to matter too much. I see a couple of awesome comments down there from folks more familiar with that world than I am - though I am familiar with a world where other people monitor my food intake to make sure it's more than I want! ..... //..... I look quite put together to the outside world but in truth not so much - this is probably true of many people, all having their individual struggles (just not the same ones) - for me the combination of carer responsibilities and a couple of bad habits take their toll. I can work on the bad habits though, last week 6 good days, one bad one, it used to be six bad days and one good one so.... winning! 👍 .....//..... In a previous one you put "I hope you will be patient with me"... I hope you will be patient with you! It's a long road not well travelled, so it is no surprise to find there are a few bumps along the way - savour the small victories - as they are victories!! 🏆 I have developed a habit of just sitting back in the quiet for a while, empty of thoughts lightly aware of the surroundings. There's a chair in the greenhouse, a bench on the park... one small positive step - I recommend it! .....//.....My amazing friend Michael (1953-2013) told me that any time you feel professional help will be a benefit you should seek it out - I pass his words on to you for consideration!👍 - Best of luck with your journeys everyone! 🤞

i used to consume a lot of content about food and just lots of bloggers in general that talked about recovery and such. the moment i stopped and the months came, i only thought about myself and what i wanted, rather than always implenting what i would see others doing on social media. completly stopping all that content was the best choice.

I would give people who are recovering and gaining weight in that process the advice to rest. I know that this channel also focuses on running and I think that is great when one is ready:) I think one only makes it harder for themself to exercise a lot in the weight gain process because you will always (also subconsciously) be stuck in a "movement for food" cycle. I hope this doesn't come across as criticism of Katharina's journey because I love her content. But I think we need to be aware that weight gain while training for a marathon might not exactly be the path to full recovery for most people and could get you stuck in quasi-recovery for a long time :)
Hope no one feels attacked by this comment. Lots of love to everyone out there 🧡

Fully agree. The recommendation is to gain weight to a normal BMI before exercising. And to gain weight you need to add- hence eat more than usual consumption. That is why you usually add nutrition drinks 2-3/ day on top of you meals and snacks.

Totally agree…. And speak from way too much experience with the movement for food quasi recovery. Very good advice.

I think you’re rocking this!!!! You are very brave… I’m not sure everyone realizes how scary it is to be completely open and honest about what we struggle with and how vulnerable it makes us. I have seen almost all the comments are from a supportive place and not a critical one. I’m really glad you listened to your heart and took a little step back when you needed a break from social media… you came back stronger and in a better mental place… my advice is this: not all advice is good advice, even if it is well intended… so whrn reading the comments, consider your own goals and circumstances… and then follow your heart! You have good instincts abd you know yourself better than anyone else… ❤️

Dear Katharina, thank you for your honesty. As usual, I find you radiant and touching and I want you to know that I watch all your videos with enthusiasm. I didn't comment on the last one but it really moved me, and I'd say, like others, that these 'relapses' are normal and that recovery is never linear. One of the podcasts I listen to that talks about EDs compares anorexia to the loss of a loved one, and recovery to mourning. I quite agree with this metaphor: you never forget these difficult periods, but with time you rebuild yourself and learn from these ordeals. I'm sure you'll get there too, at your own pace. You can't completely control the time it takes, or compare it to that of other young women. If I could give you some advice, it would be to lean on your boyfriend, who seems to care a lot about you. I imagine that he eats well, and more freely and spontaneously than you do, that he perhaps does less sport... if that's the case, take inspiration from his choices, which could perhaps help you to put a healthy weight on? The second piece of advice would be to try to stop linking diet to exercise. You don't eat because you exercise, and you don't exercise because you ate. These beliefs are often destructive for people suffering from EDs and prevent them from moving away from pathological patterns (many people claim to have freed themselves from EDs thanks to sport, but often sport is just another way of accepting that they need to eat more). I hope my advices help you and that you keep getting better and better! Lots of courage and good vibes all the way to Asia!

Absolutely stunning video and incredible footage of all that you’ve done so far. Thank you again for showing your vulnerability in regards to your eating disorder. I think you seem to be going in the right direction and you obviously truly want to change. I’m so glad you’re enjoying all that wonderfully delicious food that you’ve shown and eat it with enthusiasm. If you continue to do that then you will reach that place you want to get to both mentally and physically. 🥰❤️
