As a bolt action hater, I will have to agree with you since there’s no real option to shoot something that can feed through an AR-15 mag well. That said, at least on the east coast, I can do just about anything with these guns mentioned.

@little drane yes sir, I agree. I am not 30 yet, so I am on the younger side, but I have consolidated my collection down. I was a big H&K and Walter fan originally, first firearm i purchased was a VP9. I sold those, got a g19. Had a couple entry level ARs, sold them and build 1 to my liking to educate myself and obviously got all the parts I wanted. I am in the market for an EDC for hotter weather and am going to go shoot the g43x and shield plus. Less guns for me just works better and I can standardize ammo for prep purposes. I will likely add a PCC like a CMMG Banshee later and build an AR15 for my parents, but that’s it for me. Training and ammo is where my cash will go.
I would say that one of the five for your next "Top 5" list should be a .22lr rifle. Inexpensive, ubiquitous, with ammo still available--everyone should have one!
I was always taught the must haves need to cover your bases Home defense - shotgun Person defense - handgun Home front defense - Ak/ Ar Reach and food - Rifle (30-06 for me)
How about the ruger mark pistol series? Extremely reliable and built strong not to mention one of the most accurate 22 pistols and you can get a bull barrel mark 2 made in 1986 that performs the same as our new mark 4
Personally I think everyone should have a Ruger 10/22. I think they’re a fantastic teaching tool, a fun plinking gun, and great for small critters and stuff
AK and AR really could be lumped together as an either or. People seem to lean one way or the other. Forget the Glock, add a revolver, rifle in 22lr, and I'd say a lever gun of some sort, throw some history in the mix. 1911s are meh and glocks technology is going nowhere and there are a lot of companies making quality striker fired pistols that look better and have better features out of the box.
Yes on the AK. I like variety and you never know what you'll come across in the field. You should have an AK for familiarization purposes if nothing else.
I subscribed because this is a great list and I've been trying to teach my fiance about the inner workings of most designed firearms. You do it well when you say,"Imagine this". Thank you and have a safe 2021.
Great content! Very informative. Please make a Part 2 of this video. My two cents would be keeping a variety of firearms that handle different caliber of ammo. With ammo shortages we've experienced, you might be able to get just a .22 or 9mm or .40 etc and in limited quantities.
I would also recommend adding a sub compact pistol. The most useful firearm is the one you have with you and a sub compact you can carry while wearing pretty much anything.
Nothing will beat the handgun we learned on, passed down by our fathers!! Theres something special about those circumstances that will always place the gun above all others! For me it was the Sig Sauer p226 that I keep nice and brand new.. for being 30 years old its my most well kept gun I own!
Without watching the video, their are 5 basics to gun ownership. 1- a ccw pistol (for obvious reasons) 2- a semi-automatic magazine feed rifle (for when does CCW pistol won't cut it) 3- a 12 gauge (widely available, flexible and capable) 4- a 22lr (extremely cheap, capable, and good training) 5- a long range rifle (capable of killing out to 800 yards) These should be the foundation of any collection.
I've been collecting for about a year now (just hit 13) and I agree 110% with your list. I have a Century Arms AK, the same Springfield AR, the Springfield Ronin 1911, a Glock20 and just picked up a bullpup 12g a couple weeks ago. Out of all my guns I'd say my 10mm Vector is my favorite, considered a pistol but with the optics, brace and foregrip it's well something else lol. Love the vids
as someone from the UK , love the videos, i was brought up in a miltary background, which has influened most of my choices plus i was brought up during the cold war era. so i believe this would be a ideal collection to suit most if not all purposes, especially for the era, obviously alot of these (probably all bar the MP5 really), will be superseded now by more modern weapons. 1) pistol - 9mm browning HP 2) SMG - MP5 (personal choice sd3) 3) Assault rifle - AK47 4) battle rifle - L1A1 SLR 5) sniper rifle - WA2000
The Shadow Systems is an awesome pistol. Their recoil management is crazy and the price... A fully customized Glock for under $1000 with optic cut and threaded barrel and under $800 without... Can't beat that.
As many have mentioned, you need bare minimum a .22 LR rifle, some form of bolt action, a pistol caliber self loading carbine, and a lever gun. The PCC should be similar to your preferred fighting rifle (AR or AK) and ideally use the same caliber as your preferred pistol. For a lever gun, a side-loading carbine in .357 for home defense is ideal in some of the less enlightened, more controlling states. They're also good for hunting short range (inside 100 yards) and they're an awful lot of fun, especially once they're broken in.
top 5 lists are hard. i predicted 4 out your 5, totally agree. i hadn't considered the glock, and it merits inclusion, imo. so i guess i'd suggest to make it a top 6 list, because i think every man in america should also own at least 1 ruger 10/22.

The only way to guarantee there is no magazine failure is to use a wheelgun. My top five requires a GP101 357mag. BTW love the others so I guess I have a top 6
Revolvers can malfunction. And when it happens you are not likely to be able to fix it quickly. My ruger security six is one of my favorites, by the way.
When Ak’s were a lot cheaper, it made sense to get one and familiarize yourself with one before any other semiautomatic rifle/carbine, not so much now. They’re not as reliably made, the ones that are are expensive as upper tier Ar15’s, I remember when $299 was typical price for Mak 90. Hell, $400 for one was high only 10-15 years ago. IMO, as for Glock, you can like what you like for personal reasons, but Glock makes sense as a shtf side arm than any other pistol. If it it weren’t for the 💩 sights, it’s be the best pistol ever made. I like Sig and I’m a Walther guy through and through but Glock is the most reliable, most parts available, and most mag available/ swappable pistol you can get. It’s also inexpensive. Like what you like but own at least one Glock.
Barrett, AK, and AR are must-have rifles. Tons of 9mm and 45 pistols to choose from, add a wheel gun of some type and there’s you’re top 6. Toss any pump 12g and that’s a solid start
I mean... seems like a softball video lol. I appreciate your input and experienced perspective and that is why I watch your videos. You basically just went through some sentimental favorites in the top 5 classes of gun. I get what you were going for, because I agree, you are close to my gun buy list. 1st: 9mm striker fired pistol 2nd: shotgun 3rd: AR or Bulpup style 308 rifle (223 to obtain come later) 4th: 45 acp hamer fired pistol for home defense (I think you and I agree on which on to use for that ;;) I've seen the video) 5th: AK platform for some fun at the ranch 🤙🏼 then rinse and repeat! Order may vary depending on intersection of availability and budget 🤷♂️ but what would you say are your TOP PICKS for the 5 categories that you basically listed in this video? With your broader experience due to your occupation, what guns (a gun out of each of those 5 categories) would you take into the end of days battle where you'd have to leave everything else behind? but somehow had the God mode cheat code where you could carry all of these things at once too 😉
Great selection. Although not as common, I’d make it a Top 7 to include a bolt action and a revolver. Love your vids, keep them coming. Thank you for your service! Chris Carsten
Personal preference is the most important to each individual. My is AR 15, SKS, 40 cal. 9mm, 22 LR, my favorite is 11.5 AR because it's more practical close range but if u need to shoot 300yards still have the high velocity and very affected for that distance. Stock up on ammo people...
- Ruger or Marlin 22lr semiautomatic rifle - AR-15 or AK-74 or a variation of these models - Glock, H&K, Sig Sauer, and other reliable striker fired pistols - A reliable and accurate bolt action rifle - Good reliable pump action or semiautomatic shotgun ... - Ruger, S&W, or other well built reliable revolvers - A 1911 pistol
My 1911 was my ghetto blaster when I lived in an apartment after I got out of army. I learned country boy with combat experience and ghetto people don't mix well. Almost shot 3 people with it. It protected me well.

Mossberg 590 or Remington 870...id go Mossberg if I can only get one. Mossberg just came out with a 590S recently which can fire different lengths shells even mixed. Sounds stupid, but it's sort of a big deal honestly.
A couple rimfires, one 22 Lr pistol, one 22 Lr rifle at minimum. I would recommend a good bolt gun 6.5 Creedmore/270/ 308/ 30-06 for hunting and extended range with a nice scope

Great video! My first gun was this year, 1911 Emissary. Think AR is great for next one
Thank you for your service, sir!
With your broader experience due to your occupation, what guns (a gun out of each of those 5 categories) would you take into the end of days battle where you'd have to leave everything else behind? but somehow had the God mode cheat code where you could carry all of these things at once too 😉
Literally the first 5 guns I ever bought
Salesman of the year.
Always love the intro bro its fire
Great list !
check, check, check, check, now time for a 50 bmg to add to the collection!
ima gonna win that .50bmg so you'll have to buy one :-)
@@ericvantassell6809 sounds good! the more patriots, the merrier! i hope u win it too brotha
Great selection. Although not as common, I’d make it a Top 7 to include a bolt action and a revolver. Love your vids, keep them coming. Thank you for your service!

Hey man your videos are awesome! Just subscribed!
Revolver's, they don't need magazines, less parts to break, rarely jams.
Enters single grain of sand.
Revolvers 👍👍 Everyone needs at least one 🤔
I'm a revolver man myself
- Ruger or Marlin 22lr semiautomatic rifle
- AR-15 or AK-74 or a variation of these models
- Glock, H&K, Sig Sauer, and other reliable striker fired pistols
- A reliable and accurate bolt action rifle
- Good reliable pump action or semiautomatic shotgun
...
- Ruger, S&W, or other well built reliable revolvers
- A 1911 pistol
I hit 4/5 of these, so I’m happy, great stuff!
My 1911 was my ghetto blaster when I lived in an apartment after I got out of army. I learned country boy with combat experience and ghetto people don't mix well. Almost shot 3 people with it. It protected me well.
"almost"? You let us down!
Yess I love the G45 mos, It was my first gun I shot when I turned 21 and still my edc today 🇺🇸
Would love to see a must have opinion video from sidearm pistol, CQB, midrange and long range with you and two other of your peeps. With a wildcard for the fifth wildcard choice. One choice for each category.
Good list.
22LR rifle is an absolute must.
Add a Single Action 45 LC and I'd be happy with your list. : )
My dream list- AK74, AR15, M40, AA12 & GLOCK 18c..👍
Glad the Colt Series 70 is getting some love. It’s my favorite of all my pistols, my dad gave it to me. I roll with my AR and 1911 like it’s Vietnam.
A lever action would be a must have for any gun collections
Yup, Marlin ;)
I’d like for you to ship my order from a month and half ago from one of the “sales”
That is a good choice. I wish to have an AK but all sold out!
They had a few listed on classic firearms today. Not cheap but in stock.
There are definitely AKs for sale on the second hand market and online. Just educate yourself on what is a good buy and what isn’t, because the only tool you can afford to buy is the best.
Very educational 💯
I love my Maverick 88, Ruger AR-556, and HK VP9
Need an Underfolding AK!!
Wood stalks all the way
Yes agree underfolder for the win!!! You’ll never know when you get yourself in a tight spot when your primary is underfolder. I have 2 in my collection an Wasr 10/63UF and Atlantic Firearms MD65 Battlefield 😁
@@boom-rl7me yes. Rifle is fine
I need a 12 gauge side by side in my collection.
That's on my wish list. Cz makes new ones
Juat bought a coach gun. Grandma kept one under her bed 🛌!!!!
Kel tech Ksg all the way!!!!
I shoot cowboy action so I have one.
My list is
1. AK for SHTF
2. Pump Shotgun for home Defense
3.Pistol for Side Arm when you run out of Rounds for the AK
4. Marlin 1895 Trapper in 45-70 for big game and Hunting
5. Ruger 10/22 Take Down for small game and plinking for practice and pest control. Also add a 10/22 Pistol for kicks.
Thoughts on revolvers? Me personally I love my SP101 but is very rare these days to find other revolver fans.
I started my gun collection 6 months ago and have already a glock 23, a smith and Wesson m&p shield plus, and a iwi Zion ar15. I’d say I’m off to a good start! Anyone have suggestions on 12 gauge shotgun? That’s my next gun I want
Mossberg and Remington are good places to start. Personally Mossberg 590 or 930. Winchester has a pretty solid pump SXP for right at 400
I’m partial to Mossberg. But Remington is just as good.
Mossberg 590 or Remington 870...id go Mossberg if I can only get one. Mossberg just came out with a 590S recently which can fire different lengths shells even mixed. Sounds stupid, but it's sort of a big deal honestly.
I'm a Mandalorian and weapons are part of my religion

Amen.

Same.

Great vid. Couldn’t agree more!
A couple rimfires, one 22 Lr pistol, one 22 Lr rifle at minimum.
I would recommend a good bolt gun 6.5 Creedmore/270/ 308/ 30-06 for hunting and extended range with a nice scope
Guns we have in stock lol
I'm so hurt, I lost mine in this boating accident.
Deep concealment pistol
Regular concealment pistol
AR/ak in 556/762
Battle rifle like a scar H or fal
338 bolt gun
Not bad
I love these videos... I would also be awesome if you threw the average cost of the rifle after analyzing it
