@@MadebyMarley Boring????? You could never EVER be boring. Never, ever, ever. Even if was just your Scottish burr you wouldn't be boring, but your sense of humor, your laughter and funny remarks with Marty. I will confess, and I hope you don't think I'm weird, I often put your videos on while I'm doing some kind of hated housework just to your listen to you.
@@RegineAteliers Hahaha I know exactly what you mean. My hair is now white, white, white. It looks like my Irish grandmother's hair and she was a nasty piece of work. I'm thinking of doing one of those color washes, maybe pink or lavender, mixed with a little gold. I may up end up looking like someone in a circus, but at least it won't be my grandmother. My Italian grandmother at 92 had grey hair, but there was still a lot of black mixed in.
I love this piece, I’m a fan of copper it’s my favourite metallic and so I really like rust, plus you can keep adding and I like that. You are one of the very few furniture artist who show us a way to do “looks” without the expensive products so thank you for that, I personally much prefer your way and it’s so much fun to watch and try.
Have to say that I really appreciate and admire Martin's editing of your finished pieces. The ending of your videos shows off your beautiful final results, with enough time to soak it all in. His choice of music is also always fitting as well. When you began working on this piece it didn't seem to be going well, I was wondering how you were going to pull it together. But I should know by now that despite not doing this technique before you always produce something impressive. The more I watch you work it has occured to me that it's as if you are painting a canvas, that each one is a work of art in itself, not just a painted piece of furniture. Each 'painting' is unique. It's been a pleasure as always to spend this hour with you. With love always, Sydni
Ha ha I had a vision in my head, and it did look bad at the start ....in Scotland we would say it looked like a dogs dinner ha ha ha It's what I tell everyone every week trust that you know where it's going and what your doing .....it all works in the end How are you? are you getting a chance to paint ? I know your always so very busy sydni . I will pass onto to Marty regarding the video editing and music, like me he's been on a journey and he tries hard each week to put out a good video ...ha ha 😂 Much love to you and please stay safe and well X ❤️
I just want to say a couple of things... First, I love how your creative mind works, Lel. To think to take back plates and use them as appliques on your piece is such a genius idea! Second, I think its SUCH great advice, if not the BEST advice for us creatives, to stop over thinking trying to make everything perfect because it genuinely does stop is from ever really getting started, let alone finishing. Small details are important, but its often the finishing details that perfect the piece, not things such as measuring out or making sure to have equal lines. You're so right that those things don't get noticed once it all comes together. I truly appreciate how you jump right into your work with no fear and how you experiment. Those are the things that lead to the pieces that really end up being the best finished pieces with the most of our personality left within them! Lastly, I think it's so selfless and kind of you to take time out of your own schedule just to show your followers how to do specific techniques that they request. That's not something that many artists do, and there's nothing wrong with that. Everyone has their own way of contributing to the artist community. But I want to say I appreciate it and always take something new from your videos. You're so thorough in the way you teach, making it so easy to understand. Not to mention, you're fun to watch! So, again, thank you Lel, for all you do! Your uniqueness is the best thing about you! I am trying to save up so that I can order one of your gorgeous and fun decoupage papers! They're so fabulous and so different from any on the market! ❤
Omg what a message please email www.sales@madebymarley.co.uk and remind us you wrote the message on our latest video and we will send us you some papers .....no need to save X ❤️
They arrived today!!!! I am in awe!!!! They're more stunning in person than I could have imagined, the detail is incredible. I can't wait to start using them. I'm looking all over to find something to start with 💕 I don't have any furniture pieces at the moment but the next piece I come across is getting these! I do however have some trays so they're about to get restyled 😘😘😘 All my gratitude, xoxox
Once again a triumph ! You give me the inspiration to run with my imagination. You're a great pair the way you work so well together is evident in these videos
THANK YOU, LEL! Yep, I'm in on the membership...show me where to join! You are teaching us to "think outside the box!" Taking that textured wall paper and cutting it into diamonds? Outstanding. What do you mean? I AM ECSTATIC! Also, rust doesn't have to be red rust! Oh, that crunch...shocking! I like how you say, "not too precious." That insect is so beautiful with the soft pink behind... Place mats?!!! Use different handles! And the top is so cute! Hey! When is Martin going to take a turn again!? That dark wax made the "branch" look more like a branch... What a perfect lesson... Thank you.
Ha ha Marty says he will never do it again I think he felt it to nerve wracking Debs ...ha ha I'm glad you liked the rusty piece did I explain it all okay? Thanks for watching this one was for you X X ❤️
Another fabulous piece. I so enjoy your technique and commentary. My husband is Dan. And sometimes when I want him to help me, I will say Come on, Martin, give it a go. He says poor Martin. And we laugh.
I love how FEARLESS you are! Just get right into it. That's where most of us fail. Just DO IT. Don't worry that it won't be perfect. You can always change it up as you go. You are SO INSPIRING!
Yes yes and yes .....you have to find a groove that you are happy to work in ....it's the piece as a whole and there might be little parts that don't quite sit straight etc but when painted and all your details are done that are quite right then it's all good. Just pick up a brush make what you like that makes you happy ....as for fearless ha ha you should see me with a spider ha ha ha 😂
Ah, so creepily outstanding! The music at the end is perfect. The whole vibe is just rusty crusty perfection. Thanks again for sharing your talent so generously with the world! 🪲😱🪲
Rust by any other words is turquoise and orange and brown and red and black and it's nature in all it's glory and you captured it to perfection. You are amazing and thanks for sharing and teaching 💓
What I love the most about your videos is watching your imagination explode the deeper you get into your art as you are pulled into your zone. The excitement of watching you work pulls me in every time. What a great job Marty did with his camera work, his editing, and OMG the music!!! WHERE in the world does he find the perfect music for every piece? I love what you did with the different mismatched handles. I have lots of those, so I'll have to mismatch them and you just showed me how perfectly it works. The beetle! A stroke of genius. The one on the top looks as if it's alive and crawling. It reminded me of various apartments I lived in in New York, when the occasional cockroach dared to show itself. I renovated an apartment in Hell's Kitchen in the early 70's long before it became gentrified. The first night I slept on the floor and cockroaches were crawling all over me. I cried. Then I reminded myself that I'd made the choice to take on this insane project and just got on with it in the morning. Your hair is smashing! You always look way too young to have grandchildren, but now you look even younger. I'm glad your knee is feeling a bit better. Ice, then heat. Ask me how I know. The other two pieces you gave us a look at left me gobsmacked. I was dying to see a close of the one in th middle with all of the red. I love you for your generosity, for showing us your step by step process, and the sharing of your secrets. You are the best artist on UA-cam by far. I've watched so many. There's no comparison. Love, Elena
You sound like you have done so many amazing things. ...I love reading your messages. How's your fox? And yes where does he find the music, I don't watch our videos but lots of people comment on his music choice. I keep forgetting to listen to the end of a video to be honest he could be doing anything ha ha ha He's happy doing his thing so I leave him to do it .....ha ha 🤣
@@MadebyMarley I've just been going through your Gone But Not Forgotten furniture, which I've done several times. I say a lot of God! and J***s! The rest of the time I sigh and whimper. You're hand painted pieces are so beautiful. I love all of the pieces. Is the Kitchen Cupboard partially hand painted then decoupaged? Is that your paper? I love the Magician's Cupboard. Looks hand painted to me. The inside back is painted the same blue as the ceiling in the Duomo in Orvieto, also with gold stars. The Denim With Branches chest of drawers is gorgeous. Are the roses transfers, or hand painted? Would my kitchen look insane if it was pretty all Boho with just the work table distressed dirty white with La Campagne stamps? I don't think I'll ever be able to paint anything just white again.
Wendy neither had it it just came to me so you watched me do it for the first time ....they were slightly wonky ha ha ha but I knew the paint would fix them X ❤️
You are such an inspiration!!!!! Another lovely piece of art. It's stunning. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with the world. Meanwhile.... looking for a piece of furniture to practice on.... 😄 ♡much love, Sammie
This piece has so many unique details and many simply from left overs! It’s why we crafters never throw anything away right😄 Because we never know when our brains will wake in the night thinking of a piece of pretty trim for instance that we extracted from a say a Goodwill curtain we bought a year ago! I often wonder if I will be the one that constantly redesigns my room in the nursing home as well as those of the other patients😀 I love your willingness to branch out and try new things Lel! I ❤️❤️❤️ this piece! The rust and the turquoise colors are fabulous!
Ha ha ha I really look forward to your messages there so funny....yes I have boxes of things I think I will need but it can take a while but eventually I get round to it or need a special thing I know I have....then I've put it somewhere and can't find it ...I'm getting on now it's old age ha ha ha
Another amazing piece of art. Not sure if I will ever move past the need for perfection and my corporate design brain, but your tutorials help. ❤❤❤ thank you
You're always raising the bar! The whole diamond shapes from the textured wallpaper is brilliant. Your choice of colors and paper are incredible. The hardware usage is awesome. Digging your sneak peek too. I love that you see a stencil in a placemat. And your hair looks amazing❤❤❤
Yes get stuck in with the bumpy wallpaper it was so easy and turned out okay ....the beetle was me trying to make it neither to feminine or to masculine ha ha 😂
Oh WOW, amazing as always, I love everyone of your pieces and have watched every one,i look forward to Monday morning so i can watch another.I have ideas of things like this but just get stuck thinking nobody else would like it.Keep the videos coming please.
In my experience if you paint what you want, and you like it chances are someone else will like it.... however I can relate. My work is niche but there's nothing wrong with niche and sometimes that makes you unique.....go for it so you have fun enjoy the process. .X X ❤️
Oh yes I've done this, do you think people would like to see this ? I'm doing some large chairs but that's just a bit of upholstery not really attaching it. I will think about that X ❤️
This is just what I was hoping for. I’m making an industrial style drawer set for a workshop where I volunteer. It’s a really double ugly melamine drawer-front monstrosity but will soon look very different.Thanks.
Ooohhh yes I don't want it to feminine but I didn't want it to masculine so I decided a beetle and flowers made it okay ha ha ha Hope your well Linda so your fireplace wall your on fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥 do you get it ha ha ha 😜

@MadebyMarley this tub/pool is for my lupus, I have had such severe damage to my joints its about the only way for me to stay out of a wheel chair. The 2 new hips helped alot and rehabbing in my own pool was great! I am finally getting in right now. 97 degrees, I swim in warm water. Plus it has a jacuzzi! I am just finishing my piece for the maximumalist challenge, and I think you taught me such cool things I can hardly wait to share it! Have a great memorial day guys!
Hi ya Lel and Martyn Its just BRILLIANT! BRILLIANT! This piece. Just ❤❤ the way you explain everything in detail . That’s truly the best I’ve seen anyone do rust effect, and yes ! Without all those expensive products that a lot use . Just ❤ those colours and my God ! The beetle on the top looks BRILLIANT! It looks so real 😮. I was yelling out when you got that wallpaper out ? I’ve got quite a lot of the same wallpaper I’ve had for years . And Now I know what I can do with it . Such a Brilliant idea to tere it up in diamonds ❤ it . I’m Certainly going to give that one a go 👍 And ❤ the furniture studs and all the different pieces of hardware ❤❤ Just ❤Everything about this Unique piece . Oh I Almost forgot I just ❤your hair girl looks beautiful. Till nxt time Lel and Martyn take care you guys x
Ondina how are you? Thanks yes girlfriend get that wallpaper out and cut up some diamonds ha ha Lots of love from us both in Scotland to you And thanks for my hair compliment 😊
Mmm sorry Cindy I didn't as that one took weeks to finish, however I do somewhere in my playlist have a red/ dresser where I applied the frame moulds and added rose transfers it's not the same but it will give you an idea. The pink one I used resin on the blue one I just used paper clay. If your on Facebook or Instagram you can go have a good look at the images and copy what I did. My name on social media is made by Marley crafts as I couldn't get just made by Marley. If your not on social media just email our website and remind me and I will send you some images of both pieces for you to use as your inspiration. Hope this all helps, I'm sorry about no video sometimes my pieces take so long I don't have the time to film them. Can you imagine ha ha my videos are long enough. Thanks for getting in touch. Lel X ❤️
Nice to meet u Lel 😁 my name’s Barb, I’m from Sydney Australia & I love watching ur stuff & the way u create ur pieces. I don’t do furniture, but I do make custom jewelry 😁
Oohh .. jewelry I love hand made jewellery. It's nice to to meet you to. Thanks so much for watching and introducing yourself.......I will look out for you in the future X X ❤️
I'm not sure what you mean I'm sorry I'm easily confused did you mean the raised wallpaper? Get back to me if I've not answered this correctly 🤣 love lel ❤️
Awww it was just clay I smooshed Into a edge that was all I just rolled it into sausages and glued it on a smooshed it along ...it was not trim it was just I edge I created with clay. Hope this helps X ❤️
Hi I was wondering have you ever upcycled a piece of art that's not really that great but yet it has good potential with your kind of talent to bring out the boho which I love by the way
Thank you I'm going to do it I have this thing about the Eiffel Tower and every time my son finds one on the side of the road or I do I have it but they still something missing there just two common but thank you I'm going to go for it
What a transformation and a video packed full with information. I wonder how you always find the beautyfull images on internet? For this one what are the keywords you used to search? XoXo ❤
I have paid for programmes that I use that contain images that because I pay I can use but I have not always had these. Type in free source images they must not be images that are not ours to take. So I type in free images or it's good to look at libraries or museums they often have free source images For this I just typed green beetle. However as I mentioned I have the software. You should type in royalty free image of a beetle or entomology or naturalists free image. Hope this helps X ❤️
Ah Lel the brain juices are flowing and I'm only 9 minutes in...sample pieces secrets...hahah😂. But....if I don't have the paper a texture paste and my pewter embossing stencils could make for an amazing texture. Cling wrap them and press in. I'm gonna give it a try. Pewter and patina is a hand and glove 🧤 art form so yeah 18 years of art not for nothing. Not sure how but I'm gonna do a small test piece.

Thanks so much for watching and Marty says never again X ❤️
I love that bug❤❤❤ amazing design. It looks 3D on the top. Brilliant idea with the wallpaper! Need to try this for sure.
Yes get stuck in with the bumpy wallpaper it was so easy and turned out okay ....the beetle was me trying to make it neither to feminine or to masculine ha ha 😂
I just love this piece and the glimpses of the other two pieces!! I think I'm going to give it a go!!! Hugs from Texas!!!
Yay Cathy do give it a go it's actually really easy X ❤️
Oh WOW, amazing as always, I love everyone of your pieces and have watched every one,i look forward to Monday morning so i can watch another.I have ideas of things like this but just get stuck thinking nobody else would like it.Keep the videos coming please.
In my experience if you paint what you want, and you like it chances are someone else will like it.... however I can relate. My work is niche but there's nothing wrong with niche and sometimes that makes you unique.....go for it so you have fun enjoy the process. .X X ❤️
Absolutely magnificent just watch you now every day.
Ha ha ha oh my I'm laughing, I don't think I could listen to myself ha ha
Oh my gosh, this is beyond beautiful.
Thanks so much 💕

Absolutely amazing! Unique. Love it.
Thanks so very much ❤️
Absolutely gorgeous!! I've put fabric on furniture before. Will you be trying that?
Oh yes I've done this, do you think people would like to see this ? I'm doing some large chairs but that's just a bit of upholstery not really attaching it. I will think about that X ❤️
@@MadebyMarley where you go people follow. It's worth a try. 🥰
This is just what I was hoping for. I’m making an industrial style drawer set for a workshop where I volunteer. It’s a really double ugly melamine drawer-front monstrosity but will soon look very different.Thanks.
Yes just change it up...... Ugly can become beautiful x
Love it, especially love the beetle 🧡🧡🧡
Ooohhh yes I don't want it to feminine but I didn't want it to masculine so I decided a beetle and flowers made it okay ha ha ha
Hope your well Linda so your fireplace wall your on fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥 do you get it ha ha ha 😜
Master at work..absolutely beautiful ❤❤❤
I'm not worthy ha ha X ❤️
I luv your creations!!! Great rust!

Sharon or possibly just mad, ask Marty how he knows ha ha ha 🤣
❤ tremendous... Another work of art
Thanks so much joy X ❤️
Gorgeous! Fantastic techniques I would really luv to try. You are such a brilliant artist and a excellent teacher.
I am playing with all my new toys here, my stamped flowers must be pretty realistic I am getting over taken by the bees trying to land on my painting! Lol, going to be a good one for you and lavonnes upcoming challenge!
I watched your unboxing of all your craft things I was giddy when I saw you had bought our papers our thanks and did the water tub get fixed I need to know ha ha X
What a great video 👍 love love it‼️
Thanks so very much 🥰❤️
Hi ya Lel and Martyn
Its just BRILLIANT! BRILLIANT! I’m Certainly going to give that one a go 👍

Did you do a video on how you did the frame dresser? I bought mould frames and wanted to do something with them on furniture! ❤❤

Luv your creative work. Thanks for sharing. I didn’t understand what u used to make the rose trim ?
I'm not sure what you mean I'm sorry I'm easily confused did you mean the raised wallpaper? Get back to me if I've not answered this correctly 🤣 love lel ❤️
@@MadebyMarley sorry , typo .. the rope trim…. It wasn’t Clay but u said u wrapped a straw or something like that. Thanks
Awww it was just clay I smooshed Into a edge that was all I just rolled it into sausages and glued it on a smooshed it along ...it was not trim it was just I edge I created with clay. Hope this helps X ❤️
Hi I was wondering have you ever upcycled a piece of art that's not really that great but yet it has good potential with your kind of talent to bring out the boho which I love by the way
Oh Suzie I that's how I started....if you go through my videos you will see some real crappy pieces 🤣 but we got there in the end X X ❤️
So I type in free images or it's good to look at libraries or museums they often have free source images
For this I just typed green beetle. However as I mentioned I have the software.
You should type in royalty free image of a beetle or entomology or naturalists free image.
Hope this helps X ❤️
@@MadebyMarley Thank you so much for your detailed response! I will try. What a helpfull friendly answer ❤️
Can I Buy the stamps? ,I love it.
I didn't use stamps as I showed in the video it was wallpaper x
Lovely!
Thanks so much ❤️
Amazing
Thanks so much x
Wow!!!!😍💖
Thanks Gigi X ❤️
Oh so gorgeous 😍 💙💚🤎
Thanks so much Kim ❤️
Ah Lel the brain juices are flowing and I'm only 9 minutes in...sample pieces secrets...hahah😂. But....if I don't have the paper a texture paste and my pewter embossing stencils could make for an amazing texture. Cling wrap them and press in. I'm gonna give it a try. Pewter and patina is a hand and glove 🧤 art form so yeah 18 years of art not for nothing. Not sure how but I'm gonna do a small test piece.
Wow!
