Yes it Was boring and ugly and was going to the dump if I hadn't taken it. It sold quickly as it was kinda cute it was bought to use as a gin bar.... Ha ha
Surprise..lol..this one is "calming " can be put in every room in the house.Love the color mix you've made and thank you for turning ugly duck into a swan. ❤
Ha ha ...see I can work in muted colours it was more to show a softer pallet. It will be back to colour and throwing everything at it next week 😂 Lel x Thanks so much for watching and commenting as usual 😊
Isn't it lovely Alyson, I had not been able to get it, then my supplier notified me she had and I bought it straight away. I've got quite a bit left over so look out for more ...ha ha Thanks for your kind comment it just shows you IKEA furniture with a tiny bit of effort. Thanks as always for your comment. Lel x ❤️
Wonderful Lel so pretty. I'm learning so many different echiques from your tutorials. Thank you for being so detailed and not assuming everyone is a master artist. Vicky P.s. love the wallpaper was the perfect touch.
Hey Vicky Glad you liked it ..I think I try to show if I can all the steps, i have over many many years ...made every mistake you could imagine so I try to give details so that people watching me don't make them .. I want to give everyone confidence...I hope I do. Often I think maybe I'm breaking it down and it's getting a little dull.......I am so glad for your continued support. How did the door being hung go from last time we spoke?? 🤣 Lel x ❤️
@@MadebyMarley it went well lol please keep up your beautiful art time here in the states is not what it once was. So much stress and anxiety uncertainty so creating by painting has become a great escape even if just for an hour or so a day. Take care. Was today your birthday? If so I hope you had a wonderful happy day❤
Hi Lel, I just want to say I love your channel You have such imagination and talent... I have a question if your able to answer...I have noticed in some of your videos in the background there's a piece of furniture with a little girl standing by a lion. It is so beautiful could you tell me if this is a decoupage paper or some other medium. I look forward to all your future shows... Thank You Cat from California
Thanks for your lovely comment, the piece you see of to the side was called oonagh and the lion I bought the national heritage museum print it came framed in a charity shop in Edinburgh. I removed the print from the frame and put it on my piece. I recently moved it as I used to keep paint in it. I started this piece and it was mid way finished when my dad died this year and I could not go back and finish it. So it's sat in the same unfinished state since January. Marty helped me move it last week. You are not the first to ask me about it. I can try and find you a link to this image if you like it and maybe you could get it printed. It was its colours that drew me to it and its a really lovely picture. Thanks so much for your kind comment and for taking the time to watch our channel. We appreciate it Lel x
So pva in the states is white glue like Elmers school glue. Then we have pva wood glue. And how you mixed your pva with water is what mod podge is made like
Thank you, I love your videos. Maybe I missed it, but how do you apply lacquer? Brush? Foam? I struggle with getting a good finish when using lacquer. Thanks again!!
I sometimes use a brush however I generally use a small tub and sponge, you know the ones with the green scrubby side? I just flip them over hold the edges of the green part and use the sponge side. Dip it in the sealer go in long strokes trying not to go back over it, let it dry and repeat it Hope this helps Lel ❤️
Sweet, delicate-the rabbit peaking thru, the books 📚 too 🐇. I’m stealing this look for a piece in my gray/white bedroom. There’s a decoupage on a brown piece of furniture in the room. May I ask for name and company for that? Thank you
Hey there thanks for the lovely comment, unfortunately it's not a piece of decopage it's a Scottish national museum print I think intitled "oonagh and the lion" I bought it from a charity shop in Edinburgh and took it out the frame. And glued it to the piece intending to extend the leaves etc. Everyone asks about that piece ..I have even had a customer want to buy it as is. It's not finished and it's a sad tale....which I will tell you. My dad was diagnosed with cancer and I thought he had longer really than he had ...just before he died my mum rang to say he had gone into hospital and it didn't look good. I was working on that piece at the time. I left to go stay at my mum's and my dad died peacefully at home two weeks later. And that piece sits there I like it but I can't seem to get my head straight about how I feel about it .. ( I use it now to store paint) I loved my dad very much and it's been a journey this year ..he loved my work and was my biggest fan. Sorry to land that on you ha ha bet you wished you hadn't asked. Do you want me to see if I can find a copy of it and email it to you? You might be able to get it printed out? And the rabbit was Marty ha ha ....closet interior design guy I normally tell him to stop adding staging ha ha X ❤️
@@MadebyMarley I totally understand your sentiments regarding the piece and the loss of dad and being unfinished with the print and your work he admired-maybe is your connection to him still. I wear my dad’s shirts, hats to feel close to him. Thank you for sharing your story of dad with me. Totally normal for us sensitive Cancerians haha. So kind of you to offer but I have the name of print now and will research. Thank you Lell 💝
Hi! I'm new here. Can you pease explain the wax? What kind of wax and can it be applied before varnish? Could white paint also be used to achieve the same effect? Thanks!
Generally you either just clear wax or seal furniture but you can add wax after your sealer... Yes you could use paibt but then run over it with your top coat. You could wax it with clear wax then add some white paint to some wax to make white wax and then just use that... X
Ha ha yes I do ☺️ would you like me to do a tutorial? I've done decoupaged chairs coming up but I could do fabric if it's something you want to see ❤️🌼
@@MadebyMarley yes, watching you paint on fabric would be great. Do you have a video of decoupage on fabric? I’m still binging so have not come across it yet. Watched your IOC (video just a bit ago)
