@@RogueStatusX I think Taku should branch out into hunting too. Fish is great, but game is better. Bird, deer, elk, bison, boar… hunting provides wayyyyy more variety. Fish is… well… fish. Lol
Taku, here's my trick I do for letting line out quickly and more accurately. Every 50 ft I put a bobber stopper knot so I can just let out instead of counting the pulls. So you get to the 3rd knot you know your exactly 150 ft back without having to count pulls, and not everyone pulls the same or do the same consistent pull length. I got tired of counting 50+ pulls. It also helps when landing the fish because once you get to the 50 ft knot you know, don't have to guess how far the fish is out still. You could use line counter reels but I hate how bulky they are.
Every time you drop a new video I cant wait to watch. your journey is exciting and your cooking is damn man next level. keep the videos cranking out! you are by far my favorite show to watch!
I checked if new vid was out this morning.😢..nek minute! 😊we have another great vid... Can't express how happy I am you're in Aotearoa..long time subscriber and fan from bottom of the world and now you're here... Just wish I could show you a little of my country!!! Glad you're enjoying this incredible land!!
You make food into art. That is more a gift than it is a skill. The albacore tuna truly showcased your exquisite artistry (considering how exhausted you were). The terakihi…who knows how to elevate and transform steamed fish into delicate, richly spiced and beautifully presented fare? Only in the hands of an Artist can food become such masterpieces. Thank you Taku, for visiting New Zealand and Niue Island. Your videos are always great to watch because it always makes me hungry....and being on this side of the world makes you more real to us than just another person on you tube. Keep up the good work brother, your videos are bloody mean mate..
Long time subscriber and I’m super gassed you guys are in NewZealand 💯 we got top tier seafood , and I always wanted you to do a travel vlog of our country and food 🎣. Can’t wait to see the rest of your trip here !

Great video Taku! Some awesome catching! Love watching you clean, but your cook is always on point. So delicious with the eyes, which is what you eat with first
Mate. Seriously. That is a bloody gorgeous looking plate. Don't skip Oz before you leave our hemisphere, there's heaps to see and do here too. Love your work.
Her laugh when he said "your going to fight for it for 2hrs" her chuckle ment "YOU GONNA FIGHT FOR IT FOR 2HRS😅😂" ❤❤❤ love you hlguys keep up the good work 🤗
Very nice trip. So fortunate to have kind friends all over the globe to take you in and make memories with 🤙🏼 Albacore get a lot bigger. Landed 17 one trip on Monterey bay from 30 to 53lbs
Tuna looks awesome. I have caught hundreds of Albacore Tuna and usually grill them quickly or can it but... This year, marinating is on the menu. Thanks. Nice vid.
Hi taku good to see you living the life so beautiful buddy and everytime I go to San Francisco I think of you and I’m a 1and half hour away from the bay great job buddy and joselin
Very nice, guys! My buddy and I caught a couple albacore, not too long ago. One big one that was 45lbs, out of Fort Bragg, CA. The way you prepare fish is amazing 👏
Nice to see another way to cark an Albacore tuna...When I fished for them in the PNW a few years ago we pinned the cark down, peeled off the skin starting at the front quarter and then sliced down the lateral line on each side. Take off and throw away all the red blood line and separated the belly fat from the top meat...They are an exceptionally good fish if prepared as you do...You are a master of filleting. I learned how to felite fish when i was 7 or 8, or so. but you are definitely impressive...You don't mess around with fancy Bubba or filet knives...just dig in with a very sharp kitchen knife and forge ahead...Nicely done...
yo been watching you for only a short period but holy smoke your channel is amazing man! keep up the good work. I'm sure I watched over 20 plus videos already lol just recently saw the Oregon movie too!
We spent January in NZ. Amazing and beautiful country. My daughter is a Kiwi, and I want to be as well. I hope you make it to Queenstown and Te Anu, the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. Thank you for this awesome adventure! PS-a huge fan of Okuma gear. Hard to beat the quality/price ratio.

They grow to 100 pounds when mature. I’m a commercial fisherman and when we catch one that small we call it a chicken. They get much larger most of your tuna in can is albacore.
Yoooo the texture for Tuna will improve tons if leave that baby in cooler. At lease 24 hours but not more the two days. Tricks of da Hawaiian trade. Definitely even more for Aku and Binito da more bloody fish. One game changa. Loving da episodes!
24:45 how you deal with the paper being on the fish does it not stick to the fish will all that juice how did u get the paper off without leaving on the fish
