At 45:33 screenshot it’s pretty wild! So none of the tanks are drilled? Gravity elbow syphon and maybe redundancy as a backup?
I have watched an older video on the channel but it’s now next level cluster stuff! Patience is a virtue.

The constantly having to restart siphons when there are so many better methods reminds me of the owner of the fish store I work at. Temporary solutions that aren't quickly replaced with the actual solution have a tendency to accumulate over time and become load bearing lol. He has so many special "rules" about our system at the store that have developed over 30 years.
Almost makes you think you should reset a fish room every 5 years or so to avoid this kind of build up of kludge.

I use flow restrictor for each tank on my setup. So there is just one pipe system that runs for an hour a day and I can adjust the amount of water change for every particular tank with flow restrictors with particular flow rate. By doing that I do not have a web of pipes.

Been so excited for this tour since the podcast! 🩷🐟 Greg seems like a great guy who’s been round the block a few times and has a lot of life experience. He also seems to have a very obsessive personality and I think whilst this can be seen as a downfall for some people, when you learn to utilise it like Greg has it shows the great things you can achieve in life. Although I can never order from him since I’m in the UK, his customer service model alone would bring me to his store. I’d rather save up and buy fish from somebody who really appreciates the business and has put years of passion into their fish. I wish you continued success. If all businesses ran with the same attitude the world would be a much nicer place!

Ladies and gentleman, the amount you spend on creating this semi efficient set up that requires 24/7 maintenance & checking everything is in order would be cheaper to just buy a suction and return pump, have 4 actuated valves, run all return lines into each other & have one spare line for back wash. Given you also have to drill the tanks but what’s the big deal when your set up looks like this.

What are your credentials to make that claim? Do you actually know the hobby? It is the mark of someone who doesn't know what their talking about to judge a tank merely by size. While size can be important, what is actually more important is whether or not nitrogenous wastes are being broken down, which is why certain sized tanks are recommended, to properly handle bio-load. Breeders typically do large water changes very often to keep water quality good. This guy is literally a breeder, and his fish are clearly healthy. You do not see diseases in the video, you do not see tattered fins, and you see bright, vibrant colors. They are also breeding. All of these are signs of top notch care giving. He clearly has everything to show for his work, you can see it with your own eyeballs.
You, on the other hand, have a surface level understanding of how to care for these animals. You don't see negative comments because the other people are *hobbyists,* they know what they're looking at.
I worked in the hobby professionally for over a decade, and I say it with upmost sincerity, people like you are a large part of why I left. You are like a chicken playing chess, knocking over pieces and shitting on the board and strutting around thinking you accomplished something. Truly the lowest common denominator in the hobby
