This guy's passion for raising fish is contagious. The pure joy he shows just talking about his fish is one of the main reasons I love this hobby. Great video and thank you for inspiring me to be a better fish keeper.
Do you get the feeling the most fun fish keepers are all Down Under? Lol. They don't try to shame you to do anything "their way", they are all humble about things.. and their setups are epic. I could listen to these Aussies all day. Keep them coming...
such a great heart felt warming interview. I love this style and love his comments and words. I wish to have 60+ tanks one day, but will get there slowly. Aquariums are such a great destressor from my daily life in the rat race. keep up the great content!
I love playing with my aquarium, I'm retired not much else better to do. So every other month in between water changes I'm doing something with it for maintenance. Just to not only keep the tank clean but to give me something to do to kill time & to relax & have fun chillin.
This guy passion is as genuine as it is contagious. Grew up with a tank of my own, and later started breeding just for fun, but since I am in college I had to give up this dream. Really pains my heart every time I see somehow who loves this passion just enjoying themselves, but I'm happy that they at least continue to have this opportunity.
My favourite was the rummy with the bent spine! I love odd or different fish, giving them a great planted naturally scaped tank for them to live out their lives in is rewarding for me... if I see a fish in a shop that I can easily home or add to one of my tanks I do it 10times out of ten. Just picked up what turned out to be the most beautiful koi galaxy betta a few weeks ago who was very pale in colour and sitting at the bottom of his cup looking half dead. I knew if I didn't buy him because of the price he would probably end up dying in that cup... couldn't have it! He's happy and healthy now with the most beautiful colour pattern ive ever seen in a galaxy worth breeding for sure! Gorgeous yellow with light blue , white and even some hints of pink on his head! Truly a beautiful fish!
Wow, Peter's tetra breeding set up is amazing! It's always fascinating to see how dedicated hobbyists go above and beyond to create the perfect environment for their fish. Thanks for sharing this video, it's so inspiring to see others pursuing their passion for fishkeeping. Keep up the great work!
What a great down to earth bloke, I enjoyed watching that, and as a person that used to own a falcon hardtop when I was younger I have to say I love his shirt, Great video Nick 🙂
I love watching content about hobbyists at his level. It's inspiring to see people enjoying their lives and doing something interesting and challenging. Thanks!!
Love seeing the love you guys have for the hobby. Even if they do it as a business, all these guys are in it for the love first and foremost! It's a love fest and I love it!!🤩✌️
Wow! Just wow! What an incredible setup he has going on there. His enthusiasm and energy is A*. Loved every minute of this video mate. He is such an inspiration to all in the hobby.
I’m in American, who visited Australia as a kid, and I’ve always been captivated by the creatures. Now I dream about African cichlids, and when I first started, this was a go to channel and still is.
Definitely agree about the feeling of seeing a orange belly. I just had my first spawn of Cory’s and it’s definitely rewarding seeing those orange bellies.
What a wonderful video of a small time breeder. Definitely inspirational going to give it a go at breeding Tetras. Really appreciate these types of informational episodes. Thank you for posting.
Really enjoyed this one. Ex firefighter of 10 years myself but as a volunteer. I've forgotten most of what I learned about fishkeeping but I'm learning a lot from your videos, and some English fella I've been watching too. Never heard of the two live foods that were mentioned. I always fed my fish on either flake, pellets, live brine shrimp from the shop or various frozen options, bloodworms etc.. I'd love to meet this fella, he's a real character. 😃 Thanks for another great video.
Growing up, we had rummynose tetras in one of our community tanks, and we got a few Fry from them, one of which had a blue face rather than the red. We called it our mutant cos we figured it must be a mutation. I don't know what happened to it. I assume it was sold back to the fish store when mum broke down the tanks when they moved to Queensland.
Can you do some videos showing, in detail, the how process of growing various types of micro worms, including where to source you first batch of worms. Thanks
Here's a tip, use cheap Rice Krispies or the generic for Walter worms or micro worms. Add water and sprinkle yeast liberally over it. Then add your worm culture. It will smell like bread.
I really love this ,I have a six foot tank without a proper stand.. I would love to make racks ,with all my tank(ss) 😁 it will look heaps better stand 😭 so that's not up and running yet what's the best advice you could give to make racks, what materials would you use. thank you 😊
Great video Nick !!! This dude is totally crushing it !!!! I was just about to get some sleep and now I'm gonna be catching up on some maintenance and play whatever it wants on your Playlist 🌿🪣💡
Great video, I really like the idea of multiple tanks to let the rummy nose breed in. What was the name of the live food he has in the bowls? the ones that like broccoli ?
Great video! So, with the tanks that have a very low (acidic) pH, how do you keep your N cycle in check? Low acidity kills off bacteria in H20 that has high TDS, GH, and low KH. How do you keep the tanks cycled? Peat moss, almond leaves, and rainwater...pH has to be close to 5 or below...

You can never get enough so many ups and downs in this Hobby

Awesome! Love it, can’t wait to see more from him.
Would vinegar eels be ok as a first food instead of infusoria?
Good job! Your subject is a great talker and you have enough intelligence to just let him talk.🐟👍
