I’m so confused. The guy who took a plea deal only gets out a year earlier than the man who beat and orchestrated his wife’s murder?
I understand the daughter feels like she only has her Dad left. But the Prosecutor was right, her daddy used her.
Also I can never understand why the person who either murdered or hired someone to murder their spouse, has their family raise the children? I feel like this victimizes the spouse who was killed and their families twice. The children usually never have a relationship with the “other” family. And how is that right when the family of the abuser gets custody? 😢

I can’t believe this was almost 30 yrs ago. They will both get out of prison soon. The grandparents on both sides have surely passed on, & possibly the parents as well?
A young mother’s life taken too soon. Children left behind to be raised without their mother. Raised by relatives & have to see their father in prison almost their entire lives.
    A lost childhood!
I wonder if any of them still believe he is innocent & will they have a relationship with him when he gets out? They are all much older & hopefully wiser now.

I always assumed that the way lawyers are depicted on tv as being dramatic must be an exaggeration, but I see now that it's actually quite accurate after binge watching this show last few days. Interesting. As for the case itself, the saddest part to me, after the mother's murder, is hearing how the daughter still believed her dad must love her and her brothers. No parent who loves their child goes and kills their other parent.

It amazes me that people put their faith in self appointed prophets. They are just men or women who have the gift of the gab. They suck vulnerable people into their BS. You don't need a church to keep your faith alive. So called churches these days are only out to take advantage of your need to feel safe. All you need to do is pray to your Lord. Kneal down beside your bed, ask your God for help and ask for forgiveness for anything you feel sorry for. Don't get sucked in by anyone unless they prove themselves beyond belief. Take care.

I had no idea how corrupt South Carolina is until I watched the Alex Murdaugh case. The education system there is 48% lowest in the nation. And so many corrupt politicians and sadly some SLED officers!
