      @@enkeyvely6589 exactly. Notice the way she also stood up when her daughter was being sentenced. Whether it was in defiance of the sentencing or that she too felt she deserved the sentence. We may never know, but from her testimony I would wager the former.

      Well I think the point is that when she is up for parole she must accept responsibility to get out. Gives her a lot of time to think about that.

      Most people don’t get parole the first time they go up either , plus she also has to follow all the rules in prison with no disciplinary write up’s etc … and if she’s denied parole she has to wait 5 years to go up for parole again in GA I believe.

      The first witness did. They spoke about the importance of his life, the impact on people that never met him, and the memorial at the landfill. Pay attention, before you say something that is wrong.

      @@debidriscoll8108 , I agree and I don’t think she should have been allowed to say anything about Quintons remains being released! I think that LE/Detectives and those who found him in the landfill should be allowed to give Quinton a proper burial. They cared more for him than she did. The landfill employees sat up a memorial for him and are still having a rough time with what happened. Ms. Simon will never show remorse and never admit to what she did to her baby boy

    Disappointed in this verdict. At least she has a chance at life, no matter how slim that chance might be. Quinton doesn't get a chance at life because his mother took it from him. She doesn't deserve perole. May she rot in jale and in hell there after.

    58:24 As a community, we love Quinton and some of us dont even know him. We wanted JUSTICE for him, that is why Lielani's face was, "Splattered" all over the internet. Think of Quinton, his little body was splattered all in the landfill. Thank you, Prosecutor Tim Dean (Superman) and Team for being relentless and seeking justice for Quinton.     Current age is 24
    Sentence for LWP is 30
    Additional 10 years consecutive
    Total 40 years before first parole
    Minus 2 years already served
    She will be 62..
    Quinton will never see 6 let alone 62

    I'm sorry, I know her family loves her but all their tears and concerns were for leilani only. Not one family member stood up for quinton! This family is trash and not very bright. Poor quinton didn't stand a chance in this family. I hope to God her mother does not ge custody of the other two children because she is just as responsible for what happened to quinton. And using drugs made her do it as an excuse is sickening. The only tears leilani and hee family gave are for a selfish murderous mother. Shame on this family that couldn't even be there for quinton even in death.

    I would have thought that her being convicted of murdering her son would have vacated any rights or claims to his remains. Why in the world would a murderer get to be in charge of the remains of the person they murdered? That is so unbelievable and absurd.

      ​​@@crazybeautiful4270his remains haven't been cremated. They didn't allow her to get Quintons remains. She gave permission for LE to release his remains. Who they go to, is not up to anyone in authority in this courtroom.
      They only held his remains due to any testing that might need to be done. They could have continued to hold them if she wanted, for her appeals process and new testing that might become available in the future.
      Imo, she knows no testing will change her outcome cause she's guilty. If any new testing could become available, it might show her guilt even further. She sure doesn't want that!
      I believe she agreed to release Quintons remains for her own selfish reasons! Nothing to do with "he's been through enough already!" That's just a crock! Imo! 💯🤬💯

    And why is Leilani full of tears today when someone says a nice word about her, but she sure didnt cry when her sons remains were shown on the big screen during trial!!!

    What a stark picture. A thousand words could not paint the glaring opposing facts. Here is a small, defenseless child so worthy of love and parental care. Here is a woman consumed with the need for attention from men and her own instant gratification from drugs. The disgusting way she denigrated that little boy's very existence is heinous and if she had let him live, he would have had a rocky road to reclaim any semblance of self worth. She deserves to be cast away from society. It is poetic justice considering she cast away that child in the manner that she did.

    So she will have to do 40 years before she has the possibility of parole. She is 26 years old now , she will be in prison untill she is 66 years old . Or longer if she misbehaves.

      How long has she been locked up? That will count as time served. But yeah, definitely 60's.

    That is so wrong. She gets to live a life after prison, but poor little Quentin does not. I thought this judge would be fair and she wasn’t fair for Quintin not Leilani. It’s amazing what you can do and get away with.

      Just because she got sentenced with parole doesn't mean she will ever get out of prison. She will spend the next 30 years in prison before she is eligable for parole.

      Life with the chance of parole does not guarantee she will be granted parole. She is only eligible for it; not guaranteed. She will have to go in front of the Parole Board every two years and prove that she should be released, if denied her 1st time after 30 years.

      Not one member in her family spoke for little Quinton, only the babysitter's daughter spoke for him. That poor little boy must have felt like an outcast in that family. His own father never even had the balls to speak on behalf of him. Thank God he had the babysitter to at least feel a semblance of belonging and loved. Thank you to the young lady who got up there and humanised Quinton and also the prosecution who worked so hard for justice for our little man Quinton.

    Justice would be life without parole. BJH should be sitting right beside LS. BJH had custody of them babies and knew that her daughter wasn't allowed to have custody of them and she still chose to let her have them while she was out of town working. Them babies should have been first period over any job/anyone else. Jmo. Did anyone else notice how BJH'S brother in law looked po'd when BJH started talking?       I agree with you… where is the biological father or his family or the boyfriend and babysitters that apparently LOVED Quinton?? I’m so upset that no one is there for Quinton except the State!! I watched Susan Smiths entire parole hearing-and there were MULTIPLE people at the parole hearing for the CHILDREN the mother murdered!! It’s been 30 years and the State has two or three people speak in behalf of the CHILDREN as well! She was NOT paroled!

      Don’t you think Quintin deserves a proper burial? If they were not released; he would sit at the medical examiner’s office. I wish someone other than her (who didn’t stand up for Quintin in life or death) but unfortunately that’s the only way to give him a proper burial. No justice was served at all. There’s no winning in this case.

    Everything the State is asking for is reasonable. The money, the sentence, everything. She is an awful person and Quinton deserves his justice to be LWOP. Rare occasions that murder should not carry a life sentence. Why do you get to live when you took away the chance for another to live.
