- A subjective list of things on my KTM 690 SMC R that I find, well not to be needed but things I am glad I have? A confusing statement at that but these are nice things to have ONCE your bike is already up to your liking... in my opinion.

Always thought the same about the carbon parts. Had all the parts - When I sold my 690 I took them off and sold them all in 3 days and „only“ lost 60€ for ALL the parts! So worth it for me cause I enjoyed it alot!
I installed “Stealth Mirrors” on my 690 SMC R. They look great and actually function. I have ran the mirrors you have on a lot of dual sports for legality reasons like you said, plus they are cheap if you lay the bike down. But check them out. They are more costly though.
That brake peg is essential for offroad 690 enduro R - the stock peg bends like wet noodles. 100% required for dirt riding.
Did you see the new supermofools headlights?
Actually has hi and low beam and turn signals built in as well! They look really good.
I saw those!! They do look good, I am tempted toi try em!
the afraid of doing wheelies made me lol!
my tekmo clutch cover didnt fix, had to put it on a grinder and shave it down
Lol i have all the same stuff on my 701, same mirrors, carbon fibre and headlight (not brake lever tho)
The supermofools headlight actually do have a high and low, kinda. There is a white wire tucked into the black sleeve of the headlight. The connector only has three out of the four wires installed. Dig the white wire out of the sleeve, add brass pin and insert into the open slot in the connector. You will then have a "low beam" where 2 of the LED's are used and high beam is all 5. 😊
YESS THANK YOU!! I will have to dig into this and try to complete this!!
Good fun, I enjoyed your candour
“Im afraid!” 😂 The 690 looks great. I disagree on the foot brake peg. It’s a essential for riding the rear brake during a wheelie.
Haha which I can do so many of those.. 🤣
What does the footbrake do to improve wheelies?
@@thumpertorque_ a wider grip area gives easier access to the rear brake incase of an emergency. Works for me during balance point wheelies.
@@thumpertorque_ more surface area to use to control the height, essentially it’s like a bigger brake pedal in your car for left foot braking
The same headlight from china is 50 bucks. Just made a switch highbeam/lowbeam. The right engine case guard is must have item on this bike. Just any manufacturer. (There are full carbon, aluminum, just brake pedal hit protector of full, plastic). Caps are just for good looking, the same as other carbon parts. But it works) and looks amazing! Have you found other mirrror option yet? Besides “stealthmirrors” from recommendations above.
I actually havent.. just the ones on amazon for now but trying to not spend an arm and a leg for the Rottweiler ones.. that just seems too expensive for something I don't really use?
Hey question, I know the catalytic converter is in the tail pipe and taking it off is a cat delete and it opens up the bike, but once i do that. I’m thinking about getting a slip on. Do you think I’d have to tune my bike to do that?
As long as you have tha factory o2 sensor still in the header you should be good! At least thats what everyone told me.. But I do love the tune!
Mate put some crash slider like a bmx footpegs...you can put in the front wheel in the rear arm suspension and in the engine support. I fall and the bike gets nothing. No one scratch with 15$ of bmx footpegs
I’ll have to give that one a shot! Thank you!
@@LifeWellRidden greetings from italy !
@@mickeyknox7686 hey hey! Your roads are probably amazing compared to mine haha
@@LifeWellRidden Don't put any type of frame sliders on the frame though. This can crack the frame especially on these trellis frames. Not just from falling but also from the vibration. I've seen a few cases in a facebook group.
@@LifeWellRidden you have a really large roads. Here in italy are really small roads and all damaged (usually can go only 2 car on a road not like yours can go 8 car XD). Because italy are really little. Yeah we have nice place. In the small city with more nature like mountain or beach are cool because there isnt much car and you can enjoy the ride. But in big city this bike become a stove ! Cant make nothing else than first and second gear. People and car every where its really chaotic.
Best place to spend your money? Riding gear and riding lessons/track days.
That's why cheap is expensive.
I had an issue with SMF led headlight on my Husky 701 with high and low beam not being wired as advertised.
Husqvarna 701 led headlight...... Not quite what I was expecting
ua-cam.com/video/acgJeoiiYBs/v-deo.html
This is amazing!! Thank you!! I was wondering if there was a low beam or not..
@@LifeWellRidden you’re welcome.
They advertise the fact there is but they don’t tell you you have to rework the wiring.
Would be nice if you powder coated the wheels. Half white/ half orange and they would be permanent. Or get the expensive 2 color Alpina wheels which are forged, lighter, stronger and improves turnings.
Haha I am tempted to have them powdercoated for sure! That will be the goal for this winter!
thie scene has become nothing but a 'upgrade hobby' . everybody is buying the same upgrades and they all look awefull . i upgraded exactly on 3 points '; airfilter , exhaust , dynorun mapping , underbelly and brembo master cylinder to get proper brakes .
I am a sucker for this scene.. hate to say it but I love it.. but I'm with you, spend the time riding the bike and paying for oil/maintenance and rack up those miles not bills!
