Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

I’m not a farmer myself. But I have grown up with an admiration for agriculture, machinery, and the lifestyle. I’ve grown to look forward to every video that you put out. I’ve learned quite a bit from your videos over the last few months.
I think I speak for a lot of people when I say thank you for giving those who may not be directly involved with farming, a window into the daily life! Keep em comin’!

The new tractor and seeder seams to be doing a pretty good job. It is really nice of John Deer to let you Demo there new equipment. I'm not a farmer but have worked running a tractor doing plow in the bottom land of the Sebean River in Southeast Texas. The ground was river bottom and we did plowing to turn the soil up so it would dry before planting Watermellon and Okra. Nice to see the new equipment in action. Yes I have lived in many places and worked for many different farms.

Just because JD provides a showcase brand new tractor or implement doesn't
mean it's a fully developed no bugs tractor or implement.
You're doing their engineering work in the real world.

I've been watching these types of videos, and I can't help but admit that I wish that I could be involved with the agriculture business. I live near enough farms that I can always see the local farmers working and they seem happy to do it. Getting into the industry is difficult and its nearly impossible to actually get the land, equipment, and knowledge to be successful.

Start off small by WWOOFing or helping out during harvest seasons. I've picked coffee in Hawaii and my boyfriend helped on a farm in Hawaii and I've been a trimmer and harvester in California. You pick up a lot of knowledge just being in the environment. Now I've had my own garden for two years and I learn more and more about agriculture everyday just by getting myself in the dirt. You'd be surprised how much food you can grow on a small piece of yard or land.

Our only money crop was tobacco or backer in my day lol. I tell everyone that I grew up on a 120 acre farm where the ground was so poor it took a quart of whiskey to just a raise a ruckus. I didn’t farm after marriage and children although I did raise tobacco for a lot of years. I retired from Ky. State Police long time ago it seems now. It's simply amazing to watch your fields over there, going into the horizon. Get out of basic training to tons of new videos from my favorite farmer! I was a sod farmer before I was a soldier so it brings back a bunch of good memories on the tractor and the farm. Keep on farming!

You are a great Equipment Demonstrator. You are very skilled and credible. Every farmer feels he has done a super human job while everything could have/should have been easier. I understand the need for even more tech than you covered here to control cost and insure quality control as well as test and compare products and methods. We are experiencing a tremendous learning curve and education process. I hope John Deere keeps you showing us how these beautiful machines justify their immense cost by helping us make more money in ag. Thanks, Joe F.

I'm not a farmer. I happened onto your videos because they were a suggestion from UA-cam. I really enjoyed watching your video about planting, I cannot wait to see your videos come harvest. I am especially interested in your yields of corn, non-gmo v gmo. I hope your season is good and you have excellent yields of corn. I subscribed and added all videos to my feed. Thank you for opening my eyes to the trials of being a farmer. I continue to hope that no farmer loses their land to a big agribusiness. The heart of this nation is the family farm and has been for hundreds of years. And I hope it will be for hundreds more.

I took your suggestion and looked up the "harmless farmer". Whew. He's the man. As luck would have it, the first video in the line was "the day it happened". If you can make it through the first couple of minutes, it's a great story. Wow.
You and he are going to be two of my favorite people/channels. Thanks.
No complaints or aches and pains.
    Bob
