- I bought MY first tractor! We upgraded to a John Deere 6175R and also got a new Loftness snow blower for it, along with a new HLA 4500 snow pusher from Good Works Tractors. Dad also traded for a newer, larger John Deere skid loader, a 332G model. FBN Todd also helped me load some data (dayta?) and Anna did some attack training.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

I’m a bloke with a small house in a small village in England watching a bloke with a huge farm and shit loads of tractors I’ve no idea why but I’m loving it ...🤘
Congrats on the new tractor purchase..
thank you!
@@MillennialFarmer Lease agreement joy.
You should make a separate video on explaining what you own and what your dad owns and how you guys make it all work
Zack , that is a really nice tractor and skid steer . I’m sure the snow equipment will get plenty of use in the future . I am so glad you and your family are doing well ! You and your family have a beautiful farm . You have worked hard on the upkeep , everything is nice and neat . Hard work and dedication pays off . I pray god will continue to bless you and your family !
Thank you for the kind words Bill!
i LOVE MILLENNIAL FARMER.
So much going on in this video!
Hey tom
Hi Tom
Idc
"This thing is broke down like most farms - in a complicated manner"
Ain't that the truth 😂
Thanks for sharing a glimpse of how you and your dad structured. Glad my dad and I aren't the only ones like that.
@@leemarchant7191 You're not. ; )
Proud to say that I work for HLA and it was cool seeing one of the products made by the company I work at on your channel.
Zack do they make battery tenders like the motorcycle type for tractors and trucks, farms have equipment that sits for weeks and battery is dead when you need it. Check for a sponsor on batteries and maintenance with chargers.
Congratulations on your purchase Zach praying that the farmers and ranchers have a great year and no way have a year like 2019 again as we can deal without.
She’s a beauty Zach! That skid loader looks great too.
I’m 15 years old and I live in South Georgia and you have truly inspired me to see into farming bc my goal as a person and a provider is to give and by farming it’s giving and providing for others and family so I appreciate it and all that you have taught me and I hope to meet my goal one day in life
Me and my wife watch your videos on the big screen every day. Unbelievable how my citygirl started to enjoy farming stuff. Keep them coming! Greetings from Estonia
I raced motorcross when i was younger...... now im older and feel it everyday but man was it fun
Hey Zach: Still POed that you didn’t visit me in Fl. Like the 6170 though. I think the truck battery is in dad’s 75%;of the truck.
Captain Al from Tampa😎
Thanks for the candid explanation of the business side of the farm. A retired factory worker here, that worked on a lot of big expensive equipment that the company owned. I am amazed at all the equipment your farm as well as other farms utilize to handle the crops. If I owned a tractor like the one you just bought, I would be driving it up and down the neighborhood street until my neighbors had me put in jail or committed. Keep up the good work.
It's a awesome feeling when ya look around and can say "i own that". Keep up the good work!
Bro. Honesty is always best. Thank you for being upfront with us. To many people try and flex and say that have way more than they do. It says allot about someone when they lie about their income. Good lookin out brother.
Greetings from across the pond and good to see you back at the mill.
I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on "the right to repair".
Keep up the great work you do promoting agriculture, it is appreciated..AC
Glad you explained who owns what on the farm. Makes perfect sense to me.
Wow Zach, beautiful Tractor, and that pusher is incredible also! A lot of beautiful new equipment on the farm! 👍
If Jim says "Hi, camera!" am I supposed to say "Hi, screen"? For Pete's sake, Zach (or Beck), I really need to know...
Snow removal 'round here (Va) is mostly the sun. Although we will scrape when it gets really deep, like, more than 3 inches...
Nice tractor. We have a 6150M without DEF and a big blue thang with it. It ain't too bad to deal with, just watch the shelf life. Nobody locally stocks anything more than the small jugs, which aren't nearly as bad to deal with as I expected. Actually not bad at all.
You gave a good enough explanation of land & equipment ownership. Covered the basics.
Good video again.
It shouldn’t be too long and you’ll be scratchin in the dirt and dropping seed in the ground... that is if we don’t get more snowstorms in April.
It's simple, dig a hole, drop a seed in, cover it up, add water, and wait a couple months. Sure.... /s
Even this miner from the other corner of the state knows better than that.
Come to New England (Massachusetts) where we hadn’t had snow since January. No, I am serious. It was 60 degrees a few days ago, in MARCH.
B Laquisha chill out It’s EXAGGERATION
B Laquisha lol you don’t even have to water corn in MN!
congratulations on the tractor! looking forward to seeing you use it. I have a much smaller hla snow pusher from Courtney at good works tractors, you will love it
That 6175r with the cvt is an excellent addition. I purchased one last year for general farm work and have been super pleased with it. I have been spreading chicken muck this week and the cvt box is excellent for getting accurate application rates. UK Farmer
Congrats on the new tractor purchase Zach...Finally you've returned
Being a "non-millinnial" and not from Minnesota, though I do have a lot of family there, nonetheless, I really enjoy your videos. GJ.
Congrats, you stayed with Green. Nice green plow, and 9' blower. You now have a Lean, Green, Snow fighting machine!
Just went to see the Adirondack Thunder Play hockey! Maybee your Thunder truck has a tank for def, or compartment for the boxes. Nothing like getting shut down in the field and you need diesel and gov't Juice.
Great to see you on the farm again! Congrats on the new John Deere as well! Looking forward to watching you guys this year!
You need to fix that SkidSteer bucket.
The "M" is there, but it needs the "F" to complete the Millenial Farmer logo!
On our farm MF stands for something much different.......well, maybe not😂🤣
From a turkey farmers in Virginia. Thanks for eating turkey. In fact eat more turkey Zack.
Yay it’s finally here!
Hello Zach, congratulations on your first tractor - thats a place marker in time. Hope its lucky for you and turns out to be one of the truly great JD models.
Glad to see you on videos again. Enjoy watching your videos learn quite a bit more about farmin. Keep up the good work
I've been waiting for this Zach. Let's rolllllllllllllll
Boy you and your back are gonna love that pusher , especially the back blade bar ! will that fit on your new to you skidloader ?
Good show. Never having farmed for a living, I had no idea how family farms worked. Very eye opening. Would like to hear more.
Crazy timing, I just found Good Works Tractor's channel. Very informative and I enjoy watching him test out his equipment.
The man! The myth! The legend! The Hollywood haircut! Welcome back son!
🤣🤣
In the airplane business we never "just hit it with a hammer" as that sounds unprofessional. We make "percussion adjustments" and THAT..... you can charge for!
Just when I’m having a bad day u come to the rescue and cheer me up zach so thanks
from western NY , every farm I ever worked had an attachments shed , (roof & 3 walls) so that stuff was outta the bulk of weather, and placed on rack so they didn't get buried in snow and leaves
Finally...he is home!!! Know what that means...
What
Zach, as not a farmer, I would love to hear a little bit more about the "this family operation comes down in a complicated manner". Dosen't have to be you specifically, but in general how are these things handled from a buisiness, legal, and familial point of view?
I'm excited for this season's videos from Zach. Good luck yall and be safe out there.
Well wear on the new tractor and equipment she's a beauty and it looks like Jim is delighted to be on camera
“Speaking of eating, my supper just got home”. ..... that’s what she said. 😁🤭
Im so disappointed you didn't say THUNDEEEER when you opened the cooler
I'm disappointed in myself
@@MillennialFarmer HEY!....Are you ok?
Millennial Farmer don’t worry, i’m pretty sure all of us said it for you
Funny you say that. When I heard him open the cooler and say it was a Thunder cooler something just didn't seem right. Didn't think about it until I read this.
I heard the broken hip story on the podcast and I gave to say out of the 10-15 podcasts I’m subscribed to you, Becky and Randy are my favorite hands down. Watching and listening from Western New York ✌️
Nice snow pusher I use to make those blades about 16 years ago . My dad actually works for HLA now
3:45 that blower is made 5 miles from my house
Bout time you posted again!
A day (or 2) in the life of Zach Johnson...spring is right round the corner. There's never enough time in the to get stuff done...thanks Zach...take care.
Hope y'all stay in good shape and don't get sick like the rest of the country. Stay safe and may every seed you plant produces ten gold.
"Percussive maintenance." That's the technical term for beating something with a hammer to make it work
She’s a beaut, Clark
Congratulations on your first tractor purchase! Mine was buying my grandpa's '69 JD 4020 diesel off his auction when I was 18 back in 2008.
Good for you Zach! I like to see people have success.
Thank you and I agree!! We're a rare breed these days lol
Finally the millennial has returned
Finally!
thats what we say everytime he uploades xD
The videos will soon increase with spring tillage & planting coming.
The millennial falcon?
Finally..... The Millennial Farmer has come back....to Minnesota!
congratulations
Excellent video Zach, glad to see you back.
Hi Zach I started chisel plowing today in Wisconsin I didn’t hit any frost thank god
I'm going to probably buy my first tractor this summer.
Finland farming- don’t buy a tractor. Just buy a few oxen
@@tigerbatman7881 I don't know if those are road legal.
As an Aussie nice equipment this stuff doesn’t come cheap were I’m from
Doesn't really come cheap anywhere
Soooooo that's where he's been!
Nice outfit good sir!
Much respect and prays from Indiana!
Zacks back jack!!!! Hoooo raw!! Can’t wait to see the sun and the planters in the field! Here’s to a successful year!! 🤘😎🍀 and where’s that dam map!! Come on modders!! We need to farm along side our favorite farmer!!
@4:58 "We're going to have to get some sort of set up to handle that (D.E.F.)
One word: THUNDERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
We couldn't agree more!
Got a new cooler but I don’t have a reason to put b- be- soda in it 😂
Glad to see ya movin around zach and great new purchase thats a sweet lookin tractor hey and if your needing another good hand for tillage and planting and maybe harvest im down to help i worked in the oilfield for 8 years and im 26 so that says it all look forward to your videos through summer and fall man
Great to see you back at it, lots to do. Soon it’ll be “go time” 👍👍
Smart move getting Anna trained
I hope it doesn’t get anymore ridiculous but with all the virus foolishness you can’t be to safe.
Percussive Maintenance - "If it doesn't want to move, hit it with a hammer" ...
Thats a normal event in winter trucking
Glad to see some regular video from the farm. Less hype and drama bs. Thank you for sharing. Up up and awaaaaaay
Couple tips if you haven't been told yet
On the panel in the 332G, press either next or back to go through the different readings i.e hours
Average your fuel and DEF are 1:1 on all machines, when you fill up the fuel typically you'll fill up the DEF
"Ana's actually being trained to eat people" (grin).... Boy, that's passive-agressiveness at it's finest to say, "Stay the crap off our property." 😂 Definitely from MN!
Sad but he probably needs some security on his farm from random strangers off the internet like Ryan needed a large camera system
That's Minnesota Nice....
Well shoot, I kinda figured it was partly to train her to keep the cats safe from predators and not eat them herself, but it's always good to have a guard dog on the farm as well, even non UA-cam farms have people out to steal andhydrous and various other chemicals
@@cmusic52 And here I thought we were the only ones with theft problems here in dark africa
We’ve had people pull up to our diesel pump that’s less than 100 yards from our house at 3am looking for free fuel, it’s not just crazy internet people, it’s your damn ignorant neighbors as well! We hung a motion censor light and installed a dead mans switch (hidden) on the pump that cuts power to the fuel pump until flipped on.
That Traktor is like one of the Bigger here in Austria (EU) and for you it is a snow plow Lol
@Wikkitt Klown well we also have some with 400 plus HP but they are more rare
Impact Technology! Love it. Even if you don't fix it you feel so much better. Thanks for sharing.
You should be able to disable your traction control system. On the dash you should see an atc switch. That might help if that shop tells you the repair bill is sky high.
You said your dinner just got home tell her i said hi😜😜
I know everything new has DEF. We have been migrating our trucking business to DEF also. Don't rush into Def to quick. It does come with new problems. We have new problems now that we have so many Def trucks. Overhaul that Cat it will last you another 25 years.
Think Trucking idk when DEF was introduced, but were lucky that we have a diesel tractor that is pre DEF and emissions stuff.
So do you pick up def at like a gas station or do you buy it in bottles....how much does it go through...cost?, So like if you had a 100gal diesel tank, how much would it cost to have enough def for it, how many quarts for 100gal? Thanks in advance
Soon be planting season - not much snow left here in Northern IL. Just not very warm yet. Take care - may the family and you be safe in these trying times. "Spin"
Welcome back. 😁. Congrats on the tractor. I know its a big deal. Super stoked its green.
i know they are red, but wouldn't something lik a Manitou MH25 forklift or MLT tele handler be a more ergonomic way to load and unload instead of the skitsteer?
Forklift would be nice on concrete but it can't do much besides move things around inside the shed. Skiddy is much more versatile
Thought Data was the guy off star trek.
Don’t let your def engines have a lot of idle time that causes the most issues. Nice tractor and skid steer can’t wait for seeding to begin!
God has truly Blessed you, and I thank you for sharing what you do with the world I grew up in Houston s inner city and never saw things like this I now live in a small suburban town outside Houston (Crosby, TX) and there are many grass farms around w/lots of tractors ...its truly amazing and I'm learning so much.
6 packs of bee.... soda LMAO
Bee soda isn't that honey LOL
9:20 Percussive maintenance.
I just stumbled upon this channel. I like it. My wife and I ....yeah kids too are on a 207 acre ranch. Only difference is we have a Doberman as our farm dog. Abby the Dobie, loves watching me work. She finds a nice shaded area, lays down and then proceeds to watch me break my back. Our little ranch is in TN, about 80 miles east of Nashville. Ana the dog looks to be quite similar to Abby.
Glad to see you back Zack. Another planting year upon the American Farmers. Hope this year will be plentiful and high yields
Before every meal I don’t thank God. I thank farmers. Would love to have you on my channel and podcast!!
That’s ok, because us farmers are thanking God every single day.
The farmers won't be offended if you forget about them but God will, do your part, you know better
That "storage" on the left is a fridge..
Your general mood seems better Zach, traveling around spending some money helps?? Thanks for the video and share on the new purchases!!!
Been a while since you posted from home Zack. Good to see the new kit.
Best security system we got for our fruit farms was are German Shepard’s. No more break ins missing tools or equipment in the morning
Maybe now people will realize that we can go without celebrities and pro sports, but we can’t go without farmers. Like this is you want to be a farmer when u grow up to put food on the table.
Glad to see you back on . I always enjoy your videos .
Great to have you back on UA-cam I’ve missed your videos 👌💪
Hey Zach what type of snowmobile is that
XCR 800!
Nice 👍🏻😁
I wonder what Jim will get fired for this year...
@Wikkitt Klown hahahaha...😂🤣
🤣🤣
Hopefully not for getting stuck 👊🏻😎
Love this style vid ty Zak brightened up my day for sure 👍
Your father built up one heck of a nice farm operation there!!
