Nice breakdown. I really like 30mm for indoors. Just reviewed this lens on my channel with a little horror sequence (shot indoors) and really enjoyed working with it. Good cine lenses are usually stupid expensive and I think this is really impressive for the price.
Dannnngggg I have to get this. I have the 45 and 15. This is perfect!
thanks , great review .
I do wish they could just make normal lens caps haha. I ordered 86mm caps off Amazon that work like a charm 🙌🏾
I kind of like how much security and protection the caps give you but yeah, they're kind of a pain to get off. lol
Another IRIX lens for the set and it starts to plug their holes. Just wondering how long it will take to get in stock.
Any experience with comparing these lenses to meike t2.1 lenses?
Excellent review! Thanks! Question: I think you said you are using a PL-Mount with a meta bones adapter for your Sony A7sIII. I'm just curious...why didn't you just get an E-mount in the first place?
Thanks! They sent me this for review and at the time they only had a sample in PL mount so that's all I could get haha. If I got one for myself to keep I'd go with E mount for sure.
Great review, thanks. I have the 45 and love it, don't know if I should get the 30, 15 or wait for one around 24.
With a full frame camera and using the 45mm lens, do you have to stand really far away to get someone in frame if you're shooting indoors?
@@Kami84 No, it feels closer to a 35 than a 50 to me in practice. Take 1 step back from a 35. Yet it is better for interviews. 45 is a great all around
Something tells me they are gonna benefit reinforcing the hood lock mechanism.
Interesting lens and nice review I like how things flow from start to end
Thanks very much!
What image circle does it cover ff or apsc
FF
Yep, it’s full frame, 45mm equivalent on APS-C
@@ScottDumas thanks looks great might invest in these
Why are you cranking the shutter on videos? It makes some of these tests hard to accurately judge the performance of the lens. 1/8000 would be suitable for 4000fps and that's about it.
Mainly because the tests are strictly lens tests for sharpness, CA etc and I don't want to put a filter on the front that would possibly affect the IQ in any way. Motion blur doesn't affect those tests so I can't see how it's much of a problem. It might not be quite so "cinematic" but it's not meant to be.
how about breathing on this one??
Unfortunately one thing I didn’t check too carefully in the time I had it but I didn’t see anything that caught my eye when shooting with it
@@ScottDumas so probably close to what the 45mm is capable of, which is a good thing
The average person doesnt give a damn about the small details.... the lens is nice but gets a second thought by consumers because people like you put a scientific approach on lenses and confuse people....
