- On the show floor at IBC 2023, we had the chance to meet Karol Pietka from Irix who introduced us to their newly-announced 65mm T1.5 full-frame cinema prime lens. This is the 7th focal length in the series (8th when also considering the 150mm Macro) and fills the gap between the existing 45mm and 150mm.

IRIX is such a great company. I used their lenses as photographer when they were first starting out. Also really cool people who work there. I used to deal with Sarah. So helpful with all my questions. We are looking at their lenses for our production company we just started.
Sarah has been very helpful to me as well. I now have the full set (with the 150 macro and not tele), and a few filters. I'm disappointed to learn that the 65 won't be available until 2024, but I'll wait.
This does NOT fill the gap. Still need something in the 90-125mm range. THEN this lens series will be complete. I have the 15,21,30,45 and 150 macro. Will get this 65, but am seriously considering DZOfilm for their 100mm and 125mm.
Beautiful
how's the breathing performance on this one?
Do they have a 28mm?
They have a 30mm
Stills version🤞
The focus is kinda too stiff for me
I find it perfect & purposeful. Use a manual follow focus & get great smooth results.
Irix cine is just like Pokémon; I need to catch 'em all !😝
According to IRIX unusual focal length, I am forecast that they will deliver next lens size around 90 mm. That’s will be huge!
I have the 30mm and it's great! The build quality is outstanding. Any chance in the future to have a zoom lens in this line-up?
Will this lens work with a Nikon D750?
Irix lenses are aimed for super 35 sensors like Alexa 35, zcam s6 or bmpcc 6k. Usually these cameras have 1.56x or 1.67x crop off full frame sensors. 21x1.67 is normal 35mm, 30x1.67 is 50mm. 45 is 75mm and 15 is 25mm。 Although they advertised as full frame lenses but you can also use them on super 35 with “the correct” focal. I have 2 versions of these lenses z Mount and ef Mount. Shoot z6 full frame with 45mm, and I liked the focal as it is just a bit more than 50mm. I don’t know if you ever experienced like using a zoom lens, you realize that you just always twist a bit down then the standard 35mm or 50mm after a photo taken. Focal like 45mm and 30mm give the image that you feel just about right sometimes.
First time buyer of cine lenses. FX3 reads “f- -“ when attached irix lens. Is that normal?
Some lenses, especially cine lenses don't have electrical connections to the camera. The camera will then not be able to show the f stop setting of the lens
@@CineD thank you for the confirmation. I appreciate the feedback and definitely makes sense seeing that there were no connection contacts on the back of the lens.
The beginning of next year? Is that January or all the way to April?
please make smal compact 2x anamorphic lenses
