As a young and curious lad, I decided to see what the inside of my PlayStation looked like. My disassembly process was rough… to say the least. Also, my sister tripped over it previously and snapped off the disk bay lid.
It’s been nearly 20 years since I put the remains of this poor PS1 back into its box. Today, I attempt to restore and repair the poor bugger to its former glory.

LOVE Beyond Retro! Been there a couple of times whenever I have been up Midland way.
My childhood console was the NES, which was given to me in '91 at the ripe ol' age of 8.
It was my console, I made sure my sister knew it was my console, though I did allow her to play it at times, she was 6.
Then the next family console was around 2002 with the OG Xbox, now I had 2 more sisters, both born late '90s.
I got extremely good at Midtown Madness 3, like, extremely good, to the point that I completed the game, and went back through certain maps to get way better and quicker scores, 1 map I got a sub 10s score that took me around 200 playthroughs of that map.
My 2 youngest sisters, not happy with any of that, wiped my Xbox profile...
After that, I got the DS Lite, then the 3DS XL (Only because the DS Lite hinge broke), then finally a Switch.
Still have my NES, I have the Xbox, have both DS's, and the Switch.
Also have a SNES that I bought from my local video rental store when he was getting rid of old stuff.

A PS1 inside the box is a rarity these days. Nice 👍

Ha yeah I've actually got that on my list. Have visited several times over the years. There's the "remains" of a town down the road too, although I couldn't find much

@@retrogameon It's grown, like, big time. Mum took her friend that was visiting from Victoria there a couple of weeks ago, and yeah, massive in size these days.

About a decade ago I bought my favorite mp3 player from Sony. It was a thing of fantastic engineering, beauty and sound. Unfortunately at some point it did break down. So few years ago (2018?) I decided to have a look. I had no specialized tools at the time and the thing was tiny.
I made it worse. I still feel bad about it, especially considering that not only I have no money to buy another one, but also Sony stopped making them or anything close to them. Now all you can find is those stupid mp4 players for watching videos too, which all look alike.
    Meh.
Anyway, I am going to watch the rest of this video later, I just needed to get this off my chest.

The last MP3 player I used before smart phones was a Sony Walkman nwz-a729. I still have it too. It never broke on me. Great piece of tech

@@retrogameon HA! I have this model, though I have no idea where it is now. I bought it back in...2009 or 2010. The 8GB version. I admit it's a great one, but I still prefer my previous one. BTW, the one I talked about earlier which I broke and is my favorite, was the model NW-E505 with only 512MB of storage. I wish I still had it working. Marvelous piece of engineering.

Lol, Why didn't you just remove the RFI shield from the unit, figure out its form and then bend it all back in shape with some normal pliers instead of fumbling around with it whilst it was still inside the console like that? "If a jobs worth doing, it's worth doing good"

Can you do another tutorial on how to mod a 3ds with 1.16 or 1.17

I don't have another to mod. But if you follow the link in the description of that video, you'll find the website the tutorial is based off. That will be up to date.
