As soon as they reversed that during the life of PS3 I knew I would not be buying a PS4. PC games on the other hand... well I can play "almost" every single game I have ever bought on my current PC. The few that I can't play is simply because I don't wish to duel boot to an earlier OS, as there is no other work around, but overall I can play just about any one of my 1000+ collection dating back to the 80's when I first started gaming.

I recently bought the scph-1002 model, and the sound is great! But it’s mainly because I’ve hooked the phono leads at the back of it into my mixer and through a couple of studio monitors.

Guys, I first want to say great overview on all the systems. But you've missed probably the easiest way to get the PS1 rgb experience, and im surprised that you did not cover it as you mentioned all the pieces to make it happen. If you have the oldest model ps1, the one with built in RCA jacks, you can use a ps2 component cable on this systems multi-out for rgb, and then use and RCA cable on the composite line and use that for ext sync on PVMs or anything that needs the sync. Give it a shot.

+My Life in Gaming Glad you find it cool! have to commend you guys on your videos. you take a lot of misinformation and make it easy to understand. Not an easy feat to do. If you've never heard of Sync on Green I think you should look up. A lot of more recent PVMs support sync on green, and with an extremely simple mod inside systems you can use just component cables, or custom rgb cables without the need for scart adapters. I personally find it makes more sense for NTSC territories.

Had to come back and leave a comment. Just had a conversation with a friend who is using a PS2HDMI. They told me they couldn't get PS1 games to display properly (TV couldn't interpret 240p/288p). I just ran through all the options, from the RetroTINK 5x and OSSC to the Pound/Hyperkin cables. I completely forgot that the PS3 plays PS1 games! Never do it myself anymore after entering the world of external upscalers, so it slipped my mind. It's so easy to forget, most people don't want to spend much, and are just after the quickest, cheapest option. In many cases, the simplest solution is all that is necessary!
Thanks for this. I've just brought my old CRT down from the loft and I'm gonna hook up the PS1 and just relive some good times. As much as I love emulation and all the other options nothing is going to beat our old hardware, including the TV. Closest thing I can find to a time machine right now.
This video was absolutely FANTASTIC...thank you so much for bringing back so many PS1 memories. I know you all do this regularly, but the side by side screenshots of the differing video qualities is what keeps me coming back to your vids over and over (and over) again. Keep up the great work!!!
Can I just say I am loving this RGB series you are both doing, it's informative and well thought out. I'm sure I'm not the only person to appreciate the work that goes into your videos. Keep em coming, well worth the watch and we learn something new each time.
The PS3 actually uses two separate PS1 emulators, ps1_emu for discs and ps1_netemu for downloads. Netemu applies the blur filter while emu is sharp. There's a third one called ps1_newemu but it remains unused on stock systems.
I love my psp 3000. Not for psp games, but for ps1 games. They look absolutely great on this screen and I can easily hook it up to my crt tv. Almost all games I know work. The most reliable are the psn ps1 games, but custom eboots work just fine too, most of the time.
I freaking love your shows. I can watch them without worrying about whether I'm going to be bored. I don't ever bother looking at the time unless I'm worried it's going be over soon
PS1 games on emulator will run in HD resolution but every imperfection, blurry textures, and low poly objects will stand out 100x more. IMO a loss of graphical information with an imperfect CRT technology can actually make games look better. Textures blends together and there is smoother transition between colors and not gritty jagged lines dividing everything. Also many games on PS1 use sprites and 2D backgrounds like in dino crisis 2, and here ePSXe will just upscale everething, making it look blurry as hell. Below dino crisis 2 screenshot in much higer resolution compared to 320x240 s1.postimg.org/6y9s3p599/Clipboard01.jpg Whole background looks blurry, and character model is separated from the background itself. On CRT and real PS1 (or PS2) the same scene looks perfectly sharp, and there''s no longer that feeling of character model and background separation. s18.postimg.org/7pw4b0fpl/image.jpg In 3D games (without 2D backgrounds) emulation is better, because unlike 2D backgrounds picture is sharp, but whole picture will lack this authentic look. I was surprised playing dino crisis 1 on ps2 and SD CRT tv for the first time, it looked sooooo muuuuch better, and imperfections were perfectly masked in that 320x240 resolution, s18.postimg.org/k38yhx5dz/image.jpg This is 320x240 screenshot. Low poly character model is no longer that noticeable, and on SD CRT TV it looks even better with scan lines, sharpness filters and much better colors. No wonder people 20 years ago were impressed looking at these games, because I'm enjoying looking at them even today (but only on SD CRT).
@David Hellewell I have tried all kinds of CRT shaders and especially 2D games looks better with them, however real CRT still makes a big difference. 320x240 is wayyy more sharp and clean on real CRT, and not to mention CRT TVs have superb picture quality making colorful details pop.
Though you can't have setups like yours in a dorm, I love your videos! You guys are consistently high quality and extremely informative, please keep doing what you're already doing!
+Jonh Conquest [Try4ce] I had sort of a crazy setup back in my dorm days (relatively speaking, for the time), but it was only current gen systems! Didn't wanna risk bringing all my retro goodness to college.
Oh indeed, there is loads of custom firmware for sony stuff. Pro tip sony , this is what happens when you screw with people who install linux on the PS3 :P.
I'm mixed on whether PS1 games look better on PS2. They certainly look sharper, and colors are a little more vivid, especially if you're using S-video or better, but the dithering is an eyesore. Especially on particle effects like smoke or water spray. The slightly blurrier look on the PS1 hides that and gives it a sfumato effect, like a painting.
And full of scratches and fingerprints (I swear my Wii U and PS3 are so scratched even tho i haven't Hitted it or anything like that, only Traveling probably)
8:24 The PS2 System's RGB mode is only for games. The PS2 System is designed to override the RGB when playing DVD movies and outputs all DVD movies in Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr. When using RGB cable the video will display in extreme green tint when playing DVD movies. When that happens use other cable like Composite, S-Video or Component.
Cobretti Gaming Network no fucking kidding I'm doing the same god damn thing with my ps3 and I still playing them on my HDTV on ps3 via HDMI so fuck yeah.
Some mention has to also be given to another complication of PS2 RGB usage-DVD video. It makes very little difference now, but the PS2 will not convert YPbPr into RGB for DVD-Video content (even if such conversions would make films viewed on the PS2 look way better). And for those that used the PS2 Linux kit, I seem to recall the kit requiring a sync-on-green monitor for use with the VGA connector supplied with the kit.
I'm amazed how informative and in-depth this video is. Thanks, just bought a Luma-Sync cable for my psx, finally I can solve the problem of bad quality!!!
+YourPalSal if I recall, this is because of where the text info is stored? The PlayStation versions of Final Fantasy SNES games had the same issue I think!
Yeah. 5&6 are like that to an extent if I remember. A real bummer Square didn't put as much time testing these versions. They're sort of obsolete now but it would be great if I could play those versions normally on the Vita.
+YourPalSal Oh man I played the shit out of CT on the PSX and endured that horrible lag; I remember having to wait up to 30 seconds just for the damn menu to come up. FF5 was alright and ran pretty well, but FF6 was a laggy fucking mess. I am not sure if the PS2 would help it as I played them on the PS1. Thinking back makes me realize just how much more patient I was back then (then again, I did play through Skyrim on the 360 a few years back so I must still be a bit patient). Also FFIX is coming out on Steam with upped resolution/graphics. Hopefully it will be in a playable state on release. I'll probably get it as I haven't played through that game in like 9 or so years.
+Dr. Steve Brule is the FFIX on steam the port of the PS1 game or the iOS game? So far most of what steam getting from Square Enix has been iOS ports. Like the steam version of FFV was the port of the iOS version with the softer, cheesier looking sprites and not the crisp SNES version graphics.
Instead of downloading them from the PS Store, install a CFW on your PSP to get your PS1 game. It should all work the same. There are many tutorials online on how to do this :)
Ps3 can disable the upscaler on ps1 games as well as dvds. It's awesome to output raw video to an m classic and it looks much better than the internal upscaler. I don't know how it compares to an ossc or framemeister but it is cheaper and easier. I also don't know of too many consumer dvd players that output raw video. Dvd video looks great when put through an m classic
Both the PS2 and PS3 have not very good image clarity for PS2 video, I'm not sure what you should do I have wondered the same thing too. However if you chose to use the PS2 for playing games, RGB Scart does look better on it than Component does because the PS2 doesn't have the best Component video chips, when you use Component the video is a bit softer and there is some extra flickering you wouldn't get with RGB Scart. I don't want this to sound like I prefer one over the other in any way. For 480p however, the PS2 can output 480p over RGB Scart but not every monitor or upscaler can handle this. If you run into issues with this, Component should be used :3
Erik Shtufaj The PS2 to HDMI doesn't upscale the Video signal at all and it requires USB power and certain HDTVs' HDMI ports don't output 480i at all and most PS2 games stick around 480i.
Also the AV multiout connector that lets you hook up a guncom through an adapter and still use the original S-video, composite that hooks directly into the AV multi out
You know you could also point out hacking your PSPs to further compatibility... should be common knowledge at this point, but I don't see why it wasn't brought up this video at all. So I also wouldn't exactly consider the PSP as "low compatibility".
Because the target demographic is the everyday user looking for the best picture quality. They never get into hardware or software modding unless it's absolutely necessary, since that sometimes requires extra know-how and equipment to do.
Interesting story. The other day, I went to record a PS1 game using my PS2 hooked up with component cables. The image came through fine through my Elgato and out to the TV, but once the actual PS1 game started, my capture card couldn't "see" the game. The TV was still getting the image, but the preview window/recording was just a black screen.
[Try4ce] This is because some TVs and capture devices will not display 240p over component. This was definitely something we forgot to mention in this episode,. There's a common misconception that PS2 cannot output PS1 games over component... which simply isn't true, the issue lies elsewhere.
No Scart/RGB on US TV's? Our PAL here in the UK was inferior, and we always had RF cables as standard ( rage & frustration! ). But scart cables were always dirt cheap, like $8 for the gold plated fancy ones! And they allowed 60hz, so I always got import games, as they ran/looked better!
My Life in Gaming The PSP has D-Terminal Cables available for the system because the option between progressive and interlace says Component / D-Terminal output.
for anyone wondering you can copy your own ps1 discs and make psp boot files of them, no need to re buy them or miss out on non re-released digital games, google is your friend
Don't know about that but I will say that my enthusiasm for console gaming ended sometime in the early 2000s. Game rentals for the playstation were easy to come by and affordable. The very next generation, there were almost no rentals available for any of the major systems like the xbox or gamecube and while I liked those systems for what they were, I had a harder time getting into them without the ability to try them out first.
Something I found out just a few days ago, not every PS1 game will play on the PS3. Both of my copies of Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider 2 (original and GH) will not load past the opening title screen. My GH copy of Final Fantasy 9 will not load at all and my Original version of Star Ocean the Second Story also has issues running. None of these games have any issues at all running on my PSOne or my fat PS2. Obviously this isn't a problem for downloaded PSClassics but I don't intend to pay again for a game I've already paid for just to play it on a newer console, I'll stick to the old school for those games.
yeah wip3out won't play on a ps3 because of its special copyright protection that stops emulators from running it. and as the ps3 emulates the ps1 it doesn't work
Some games also have specific issues if you run them on a PS3 due to it using emulation rather than native hardware. Tomba 2, for example, has an audio glitch when playing a physical copy that causes the music to distort when it loops.
TheNickle well overrated is praising a game more than it' deserves, so I would say both Chrono Cross and ff7 are overrated, just like current games like Overwatch
@@TheProfessor529 ashens actually just made a video on some psone screens. While it is nowhere near as scientific as a mlig video, it was nice. The Sony one uses rgb and is pixel perfect, and still looks amazing.

I recently realized that may Playstation 3D HD Display displays PSP games in full screen. Does anyone know how this is achieved? Maybe it detects a PSP connection and scales appropriately. I still love how everything looks on these displays. It's ashame they had so many bum units. I have my PS3, PS4, PSTV, and Wii U connected to it.
+videogameobsession [Try4ce] Woaaah! Tell me more! That's super fascinating. That's a really really unique feature. I'd love to have a chance to test it for an eventual episode focusing on PSP/Vita/PSTV. Wonder if anyone local has one.
+My Life in Gaming Yes, I think it would have been much more popular had Sony released it while the PSP was still relevant among the general gaming public. They barely even mention the "PSP Zoom" feature. It gives you perfect 16:9 full screen without the annoying pillar-box look. I'd love to see an episode on 3D gaming on newer consoles and the Playstation Display features, if you can locate one. I realize 3D gaming popularity is dwindling, but I still enjoy it from time to time. For me, the PS 3D Display + PS3 was the perfect gateway back into 3D gaming after not playing it since the SMS days. It also has a neat feature called SimulView where two people can see a different image on the same screen. Games such as Killzone 3, Gran Turismo 5, & MotorStorm Apocalypse support that. It's also a very nice looking unit, resembling a PS Vita screen. The quality is equally excellent. Games such as Super Stardust HD, Wipeout HD, Uncharted 3, Killzone 3, de Blob 2, Zen Pinball all look amazing in 3D. M2 even programmed in a special stereoscopic 3D mode for the PS3 version of Super Hang-On arcade (Sega Vintage Classics). I had my fingers crossed for Space Harrier to come to the PS3, but it never happened unfortunately. The 3DS became their new focus at that point. PS, I'm a big fan of your show. It's always top notch production and even though I've been a pretty hardcore gamer for nearly 35 years I still find myself learning something new while watching.
I have a mini review, info, and pics of the PlayStation 3D Display here if you're interested. videogameobsession.com/videogame/ps3/PlayStation3DDisplay I was lucky and picked it up for only $150 on clearance. As you may know, they sold originally for a whopping $499 MSRP! They even dropped down to $99 at one point. I wish I had bought more at that price. At least they came with an HDMI cable for that price. ;)
Also, I couldn't find these PS One games on the PS3 store. I remember there was an option for this, but I couldn't find anything. Are they phasing this out?
[Try4ce] Sony has kinda wrecked the PSN store, making it ridiculously difficult to find anything. I have no idea what they're thinking. It's MUCH easier to find things on the web version. Just search for PlayStation Store. You can buy things there and have them start to download to your PS3.
***** That worked, I bought Tomb Raider. Unfortunately it is indeed the PAL 50 Hz version (Australia). I think I got to get myself a US PSN account just so I can play the faster NTSC version.
PhilsComputerLab I think so I check it out on ps3 via psn and they removed tekken 3 from psone classics for some reason so I highly recommended you buy physical psx games and play them on the ps3 via HDMI.
[Try4ce] Unfortunately the PS3 cannot output 240p, so the games will appear interlaced when playing this way, when most of them should not be interlaced.
Because of both of you, I've turned into a videophile, thanks guys for the dreaded curse! On a serious note, these guys answered my questions on Twitter and were extremely helpful. I used Bleem! I am not gonna argue about this. I used Bleem on my Pentium 2 and that is that. I also played N64 on it with UltraHLE wich was the first N64 emulator capable of fully playing games. You also have to remember that back then you could not play these emulators in 4k res and such. Not even 1080 so it was not as demanding as it is today. There are many other emulators.
No Bleem is not good compared with other emulators of today and neither is UltraHLE. But they were great in 1999 since they were the only ones that existed if you wanted to play playstation and n64 games on your pc. Fun fact for you - Ocarina of Time was a HUUUGE download with the internet speeds we had then.
I don't know if Bleem ran iso's. I had to put in my actual Ps1 discs in the pc to play them. You could not download PS1 games then, they were too huge. They might have been on the internet though. N64 games was on the internet then. But Ocarina of Time is something like 28mb if I remember correctly. And that was maybe equal to 28gb by todays standard.

Hope this helps!! 👍👍
It would be so awesome if you guys could do a video on the picture quality of the original Xbox. There's so many strange differences between console versions and the three video encoders Microsoft used. Brightness, color desaturation, flicker filtering, game incompatibility in higher resolutions on revision 1.6...the list goes on and on
Its currently 4 a.m. Cant sleep. Yeah i'll give this video a go, why not.
Holy crap, the idea of hooking up a PSP to a PVM for 240p video is completely baffling to me. LOL That is so cool. Neat episode.
I wonder if the people I live with recognize that I rewatch this video for fun repeatedly.
The PS3 actually uses two separate PS1 emulators, ps1_emu for discs and ps1_netemu for downloads. Netemu applies the blur filter while emu is sharp.
There's a third one called ps1_newemu but it remains unused on stock systems.
Collecting for the Ps1 today its hell :( Trying to find unscratched games is getting harder and harder.
Yeah it sucks so will just stick with playing them on my pi 3.
+BlazeFalcon cheaper to do that, graphics usually are better on modern PC.

You can always get them resurfaced.
I do it to a lot of my games that have scratches.
You can burn games and play as long as you've done the modchip

aaaaaaahhhhhh those PS1 and PS2 intro sound just bring me back to that day~~~~ the most epic opening sound ever!
Cool, but I'll stick with my PS2 on a huge CRT, especially since I love playing light gun games as well. With first party component cables of course.
Exactly the info i was looking for. God bless people like you guys. Videos like this should be patrimony of mankind.
I used to play my PS1 with a S-Video cable! It looked gorgeous! Those were the days!
High quality editing here! I like the music for the intro.
Who's the jerk that started the "no ps1 games on ps3" myth?? That crap ran rampant and I was naive!!!
RJ Macready is in the box and the manual. So is your fault.
No one...it has always been known.
I love my psp 3000. Not for psp games, but for ps1 games. They look absolutely great on this screen and I can easily hook it up to my crt tv. Almost all games I know work. The most reliable are the psn ps1 games, but custom eboots work just fine too, most of the time.
Are they fullscreen?
Wow didn't expect that splashscreen at 1:25 to send chills down my spine.
Below dino crisis 2 screenshot in much higer resolution compared to 320x240
s1.postimg.org/6y9s3p599/Clipboard01.jpg
Whole background looks blurry, and character model is separated from the background itself. On CRT and real PS1 (or PS2) the same scene looks perfectly sharp, and there''s no longer that feeling of character model and background separation.
s18.postimg.org/7pw4b0fpl/image.jpg
In 3D games (without 2D backgrounds) emulation is better, because unlike 2D backgrounds picture is sharp, but whole picture will lack this authentic look. I was surprised playing dino crisis 1 on ps2 and SD CRT tv for the first time, it looked sooooo muuuuch better, and imperfections were perfectly masked in that 320x240 resolution,
s18.postimg.org/k38yhx5dz/image.jpg
This is 320x240 screenshot.
Im so glad my modded ps2 still works

I think I will just stick with playing my ps1 games on my ps2 using component cables.
These guys deserve at least 100,000 subs. That's how good their content is.
You guys included so many good games! And the songs, too! Brings me back to a simpler time.

Though you can't have setups like yours in a dorm, I love your videos! You guys are consistently high quality and extremely informative, please keep doing what you're already doing!
You can totally have that setup in a dorm. I have 8 systems set up and probably 500 games. It's all about using space smart.
+Jonh Conquest [Try4ce] I had sort of a crazy setup back in my dorm days (relatively speaking, for the time), but it was only current gen systems! Didn't wanna risk bringing all my retro goodness to college.
+Jonh Conquest Fair enough! But it also requires the consoles, which I am also lacking. For now, it's strictly daydreaming...

You picked the best background xd
I'm mixed on whether PS1 games look better on PS2. They certainly look sharper, and colors are a little more vivid, especially if you're using S-video or better, but the dithering is an eyesore. Especially on particle effects like smoke or water spray. The slightly blurrier look on the PS1 hides that and gives it a sfumato effect, like a painting.
Original design of PS1 look timeless while original PS3 look outdated on day 1.
And full of scratches and fingerprints
(I swear my Wii U and PS3 are so scratched even tho i haven't Hitted it or anything like that, only Traveling probably)

If you do like using the PS2 to play DVDs, you should use the PS2 Slim as it can output the DVD movies over 480p over Component
For me, ps2 with component cables on a crt has to be the way to go.
You mean BVM
PS2 480p looks crap imo. Rather use high end RGB on pvm.

11:28- Haha exactly the game I'm researching this for, Dino Crisis 2.
This is the reason why some RGB cables for the PS2 had a switch that changed to composite output.
I'm amazed how informative and in-depth this video is. Thanks, just bought a Luma-Sync cable for my psx, finally I can solve the problem of bad quality!!!
I've been playing FF9 on my PSVita and ughhhhhhhhhhhh it looks so gooooooood
+The 8-Bit Duke If only the PSX version of Chrono Trigger wasn't a slow mess. It looks so good on the Vita and then you pause and cry.
Ps2 slim with component cable makes all games look perfect.
Now we can hook up HD retrovision cables to the ps1. The picture is beautiful.
I just heard about the mClassic. It seems like a revelation! Would love to try it for PS1 games on PS3.
Do a video how to get the best video quality on PS2 Games :)
If you run into issues with this, Component should be used :3
Helloz World okay thanks ;)
just buy the component video cable for PS2 and use it on a HDtv
Get an hdmi converter for convenience but some of them create sharper edges than component cables
Erik Shtufaj The PS2 to HDMI doesn't upscale the Video signal at all and it requires USB power and certain HDTVs' HDMI ports don't output 480i at all and most PS2 games stick around 480i.
You guys forgot the PSONE LCD screen
There's a common misconception that PS2 cannot output PS1 games over component... which simply isn't true, the issue lies elsewhere.
i just bought a component cable for my ps2, and my god it looks amazing even going straight into my hdtv
Awesome video! :)
The words 'glorious' and '240p' have never been said in the same sentence before this video.
Just brought a PS2 and now I need to rewatch this again to see if the PS2 is good at PS1 games because I desperately need to make room on my shelf.
21:56 is a fantastic shot of the consoles lined up, great work!
16:14 I'm sorry, I found you going up to the screen to see hilarious . lol xD
[Try4ce] Yep, sadly neither region had the ideal experience! But thankfully we're on even footing now, it just makes retro gaming complicated!
My Life in Gaming The PSP has D-Terminal Cables available for the system because the option between progressive and interlace says Component / D-Terminal output.
Ive watched most of these RGB videos you guys make more than twice =D they are so good!! Thank you guys for making such great content

Best console ever made right there
wrong, PS2 was.
only because it could play ps1 games. lol
My favorite as well.
Ramiro 1992 Worst console ever made for sure
Don't know about that but I will say that my enthusiasm for console gaming ended sometime in the early 2000s. Game rentals for the playstation were easy to come by and affordable. The very next generation, there were almost no rentals available for any of the major systems like the xbox or gamecube and while I liked those systems for what they were, I had a harder time getting into them without the ability to try them out first.
Hey, think you guys could do one on the PS2? Great video btw :) very detailed
+Buttery Toast [Try4ce] Yep! We plan to do PS2 this year hopefully sooner than later.
After watching this video I purchased a PSP Go. Playing PS1 games in 240P is amazing!
This is why I still have a PS3. I bought a PS1 with one of the gameshark cartridge ports just last week so I can have some good old 90's fun!!
11:48, Lunar Silver Star Story
You are welcome...
Obviously this isn't a problem for downloaded PSClassics but I don't intend to pay again for a game I've already paid for just to play it on a newer console, I'll stick to the old school for those games.
i thought i just has a shitty copy of tomb raider 1 because i have the same problem, it works fine on my ps2 but won't even work on my ps3
yeah wip3out won't play on a ps3 because of its special copyright protection that stops emulators from running it. and as the ps3 emulates the ps1 it doesn't work
works fine for me
Some games also have specific issues if you run them on a PS3 due to it using emulation rather than native hardware. Tomba 2, for example, has an audio glitch when playing a physical copy that causes the music to distort when it loops.
Chrono cross.Best game.Ever.
Totally agree!
so what is the best game for you?
most overrated game ever
Ramiro 1992 Most underrated. I hear way more people praising FFVII compared to Cross.
TheNickle well overrated is praising a game more than it' deserves, so I would say both Chrono Cross and ff7 are overrated, just like current games like Overwatch

The PlayStation 2 was my favorite system when I was growing up. Because it was the very first video game console I have ever played. it was awesome and so are you guys!
what about the Psone LCD screen dont you think it the best way to play psone games ?
[Try4ce] Nah, I don't think it would be the best way. But we would love to try one out. We sorta regretted forgetting to look into it.
+My Life in Gaming holy crap. really? I'll test this later today as I have one myself, also I'm in NC
I have a mini review, info, and pics of the PlayStation 3D Display here if you're interested. videogameobsession.com/videogame/ps3/PlayStation3DDisplay
I was lucky and picked it up for only $150 on clearance. As you may know, they sold originally for a whopping $499 MSRP!
They even dropped down to $99 at one point. I wish I had bought more at that price. At least they came with an HDMI cable for that price. ;)
+videogameobsession [Try4ce] Dang, I'd have definitely bought one for that price if I'd known!
***** Ok thanks, will check it out :)
PhilsComputerLab hdgbrggyyyhftxbrfy
My best PS1 quality experience has been connecting the ps3 via component to the CRT and selecting NTSC on PS3. smoothing off and looking razor sharp.
Also, I'm adding a PS2 to my setup, when will the addition cease!?!? Anyways, thanks for all you guys do, your videos are awesome!

PS3 emulation sucks, since it ruins Spyro 2.
How does it ruin Spyro 2? You mean playing it on a 60gig right?
NotOrdinaryInGames
PS3 emulation is one of the best imo. I like the smoother look compared to that of the ps2.
@@bozny22 Spyro 2 has audio issues when playing on a PS3, primarily during cutscenes. It's an issue with emulation, since certain other emulators have the same problem with it.
I think I can remember this but your comment might be making me create memories. Completed Spyro 2 100% on my 60gig. It is nitpicking to say that PS3 emulation sucks. It does not at all. In fact the 60gig is almost certainly the best console ever. Find my long comment and read it. You could be ridiculous and buy a NTSC US or JP original SCPH model 60gig as those have hardware Emotion Engine backwards compatibility. But then, buying all those PS1 and PS2 games in US or JP version is just ridiculous.
psxe on a powerful rig with settings maxed out is the only way to play in 2016
VergilHilts Not even that. I emulated Ps1 in 1999 on my Pentium 2 266mhz with 32mb of ram. I dont know why people think Ps1 emu requires a dualcore.
Bleem! hahahaha. Oh down to memory lane into a nostalgia trip.
