My eyes popped outta my head when you started welding more material onto the case, then it just got crazier an crazier. Amazing skills and tools.
Thank you 🙏 I hope your eyes are back to place 😅
Unbelievable. I'm speechless. Didn't know such level of restoration was possible. What amazing tools and skills. Chapeau bas
Thank you 🙏
Absolutely stunning, never seen a case recovery done like that. Speechless
Thank you 😊
The welding was shocking and mesmerizing. I never realized that's how it was done when a watch with a huge gouge was repaired. Very cool. The bracelet repair was awesome. I've watched videos of that process only, and it looks like it takes hours to do. This video could have been four hours long! Amazing craftsmanship.
Thank you very much for your comment! Indeed it took hours! Best regards from Germany Daniel
I know it’s been said but this is the best case restoration I’ve ever seen. Looks better than new! Great work
Wow, thanks 🙏
YES!! THATS how it’s done. Finally a video that shows us true craftsmanship. All these watchmakers butchering and “restoring” watches and over-polishing every single chamfer. Great job!
Thank you 🙏🤩
Finally! After years of watching restoration content, it was great to see a case restoration by a true craftsman. KUDOS sir 👏
Thank you very much 😊🙏
Don't even like watches but I was absolutely mesmerized by your craftsmanship. Speechless!!!

This is a great video. Your skill and craftsmanship is unbelievable! I never knew you could add to the case.
I’m halfway through and for no dialogue it’s very informative and oddly relaxing. It must feel so rewarding working with your hands on such beautiful watches. I’m sure the owners are happy too.

Thanks 🙏
Incredible work, truly a master of restoring watches.
Thank you 🙏
Incredible craftmanship ! Bravo !
Thank you i
Gonna go ahead and say it. I've seen a lot of restoration videos on Rolex pieces. I saw the beginning and I was like...."good luck." Seriously though.....that was an amazing transformation. Excellent skilled work. You are worth every penny.
Thank you 🙏☺️
Used Rolex watches are often molested with over polishing, customization (dials, markers, bezels, PVD and DLC coatings), and cheap, unauthentic aftermarket parts. What a pity.
True achi!
I agree, why do people feel the need to deface a beautiful timepiece?
@@sdcoinshooter so many more non-watch people choose Rolex for the brand name and the majority are not gonna understand the proper way to take care of these watches :(
Amazing craftsmanship 😮
Thanks 🙏
Turned out real nice.
Thanks 🙏
It's amazing talent of doing like this restore Rolex with nice gadget, and fantastic skill.

Absolut fantastisch!! CHAPEAU!!
LG aus der CH. Regi
Danke 🙏
Great job very nicely done
Thank you Steve! 🙏
Nice work 😊
Thank you 😊
Truly amazing!! I wish I had the skills!! Is there something that can be done about the welding porosity?? Thank you very much!!!
Thanks 🙏 Porosity is always tricky. But I solved it afterI shot the video, check my community post. It’s very important to weld in the exact same steel that the case is built off and Argon settings will reduce the porosity a lot. This case was very problematic, it had a lot of rust, even deep in the case, that makes the welding process way more difficult.
This is a phenomenal job. I can’t help but to notice the chamfers in the crown side are much more pronounced than the other side. Just saying. Overall amazing job.
awesome work
Thank you! Cheers!
A true craftsman.
Thank you 😊
@@Vintwatches I’ve sent you an email about my OQ 17000. 🤞
You are an artist… see below.

Wow 😮 Thank you very much 🙏
Fantastic job
Thanks 🙏
Danke 🤩
Very nice work.fantastic skills .
Thanks 🙏
Looks superb now 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Thanks 🙏
Wow 👏
Thx 🙏
Wow great job!
Thank you 😊
Tremendous!
Thx 🙏
@@Vintwatches You are a master craftsman and a true restorer. I thoroughly enjoyed the video and subbed as a result. Thank you for posting.
@@PyroFalconthank you! Stay tuned, next video will be online next week!
Wirklich geniales Video.
Thanks 🙏
very nice work🤪
Thank you very much 🤩
Excelente
Thanks 🙏
This is so inspiring! I’d love to see a video where you do this process with tools on a budget for those of us just starting! Different sandpapers, tools under 2-300 dollars, etc.
thank you for all the great content!!!
Thanks 🙏 Unfortunately many steps are impossible with budget tools 😬
Your videos cure my heart. I have a Tudor watch overpolished and terribly shaped and I have sent it to AD to re-polish but I do not think they will match anywhere you have done. Do you receive watches internationally
Thanks 🙏 Sure I do work internationally! I’m happy that you’re interested to my watch services! Please write me an email (service@vintwatches.de) or use the contact form on my website Vintwatches.com for pricing.
Very impressive work and technique 👌🏻are you applying the same steel quality as the one originally used by Rolex?
Thanks 🙏 Sure, using 904l steel.
Wieder Mega Arbeit 👍🙂 Beste Grüße aus Bielefeld
Danke 🙏
Unique and amazing tools and skills. I could see fixing the band... But the welding on the watch was a bit over the top IMHO...
Thanks 🙏
How much of the bracelet stretch was in the gold links compared with what you corrected by replacing the pins? Did you have to press the links back to their original shape?
Wonderful craftsmanship and attention to detail!
Thank you 😊 Of course there is stretch also in the gold links, but stretch improved quite well without restoring the gold links as well. The bracelet is pressed to original shape.
I can't afford a Rolex and there's no possibility that l could afford to pay this craftsman to refurbish a used one. Absolutely amazing skills.
Thank you 😊
Hi can the laser welder be used on other materials than steel ? I have a lot of 1940s watches that are base metal and are nickel chrome or gold plated they suffer from acid in the skin eating them away. Could the laser welder with a brazing material be used? Brilliant work and videos
Thanks 🙏 I could weld almost every metal, plated watches can’t be welded, they would need to be replated.
vaoo super 👍👍👍
Thanks 🙏
You are amazing 🎉
Thank you 😊
Amazing work and result! I had a question. Can over polished crown guards on a Rolex 16610 Sub be restored with laser welding?
Thank you 🙏 Sure it is possible to restore the crown guards, just drop me an email or use the contact form on my website Vintwatches.com for pricing.
Id be interested to know what grade of SS is the watch case and what grade ss wire was used to restore this watch.
Vintage Rolex Watches are from 316l steel and newer from 904l steel. I always use the same steel, case is made from, for welding.
Very good work! May I ask where you got the tools for bracelet disassembly/assembly?
Thank you 🙏 Bought the tools from a German watch tool supplier.
Does the lazer welding always have a tendency to leave those oxidised pits?
Wow
Thanks 🙏
Amazing. Are the tools you use for stone cutting? I know all jobs are different, but aprox how much would this or similar job cost?
Thanks 🙏 The tools are very similar to diamond cutting tools, but are specialized for watches. For pricing, just drop me an email or use the contact form on my website Vintwatches.com
excellent work
we are a german watch delaer

Thank you! Just drop me an email or use the contact form on my website Vintwatches.com for pricing.
What is the metal added onto the case ?

Brillant mate! Love your videos..
Would love you to fix my stretched bracelet and service my Explorer 2!
Thank you Jason! Just drop me an email or use the contact form on my website Vintwatches.com for pricing.
What material does it use to weld? Oystersteel?
No, Rolex uses 904l steel for their cases.
The video was 31 min, Butt how long does it takes for all that work?
I have a big project and am wondering if you can restore it.
I have a certina ph500m case with a damaged drilled out too big crowntube and a damaged case.
Would make a cool video
Cool Watch! Just drop me an email or use the contact form on my website Vintwatches.com for pricing.
Excelent job!!! Where you get 3 axis vise? I need tool like this
Thank you 🙏 It’s an original sallaz holder, check my Instagram account for more details.
