The welding was shocking and mesmerizing. I never realized that's how it was done when a watch with a huge gouge was repaired. Very cool. The bracelet repair was awesome. I've watched videos of that process only, and it looks like it takes hours to do. This video could have been four hours long! Amazing craftsmanship.
YES!! THATS how it’s done. Finally a video that shows us true craftsmanship. All these watchmakers butchering and “restoring” watches and over-polishing every single chamfer. Great job!
Thanks 🙏 Porosity is always tricky. But I solved it afterI shot the video, check my community post. It’s very important to weld in the exact same steel that the case is built off and Argon settings will reduce the porosity a lot. This case was very problematic, it had a lot of rust, even deep in the case, that makes the welding process way more difficult.
Gonna go ahead and say it. I've seen a lot of restoration videos on Rolex pieces. I saw the beginning and I was like...."good luck." Seriously though.....that was an amazing transformation. Excellent skilled work. You are worth every penny.
This is a great video. Your skill and craftsmanship is unbelievable! I never knew you could add to the case. I’m halfway through and for no dialogue it’s very informative and oddly relaxing. It must feel so rewarding working with your hands on such beautiful watches. I’m sure the owners are happy too.
Thank you 🙏 I do work worldwide and have many customers in the UK, just drop me an email or use the contact form on my website Vintwatches.com for pricing or more details.

Used Rolex watches are often molested with over polishing, customization (dials, markers, bezels, PVD and DLC coatings), and cheap, unauthentic aftermarket parts. What a pity.
@@sdcoinshooter so many more non-watch people choose Rolex for the brand name and the majority are not gonna understand the proper way to take care of these watches :(
This is a phenomenal job. I can’t help but to notice the chamfers in the crown side are much more pronounced than the other side. Just saying. Overall amazing job.
Your videos cure my heart. I have a Tudor watch overpolished and terribly shaped and I have sent it to AD to re-polish but I do not think they will match anywhere you have done. Do you receive watches internationally
Thanks 🙏 Sure I do work internationally! I’m happy that you’re interested to my watch services! Please write me an email (service@vintwatches.de) or use the contact form on my website Vintwatches.com for pricing.
This is so inspiring! I’d love to see a video where you do this process with tools on a budget for those of us just starting! Different sandpapers, tools under 2-300 dollars, etc. thank you for all the great content!!!
How much of the bracelet stretch was in the gold links compared with what you corrected by replacing the pins? Did you have to press the links back to their original shape? Wonderful craftsmanship and attention to detail!
Thank you 😊 Of course there is stretch also in the gold links, but stretch improved quite well without restoring the gold links as well. The bracelet is pressed to original shape.
Wirklich geniales Video.

Very impressive work and technique 👌🏻are you applying the same steel quality as the one originally used by Rolex?

Id be interested to know what grade of SS is the watch case and what grade ss wire was used to restore this watch.
Vintage Rolex Watches are from 316l steel and newer from 904l steel. I always use the same steel, case is made from, for welding.
Wow 👏
Thx 🙏
Does the lazer welding always have a tendency to leave those oxidised pits?
