House Tour for Family of 17

- Here is a tour of our home. Our house is about 5350 sq ft. and we have 17 people living in it. Of our soon to be 15 kids, our two oldest have moved out, however we have a small apartment with two other family members living in it.

I love your fan comments. As a black woman with a mexican husband. People are not so nice, because we have 10 kids. They think we poor, but we debt free, frugal family, homeschooling, and a christian family. I am sick of whites, blacks, mexican and etc putting us down. My husband is a owner operator. We live in a mostly white neighborhood, and they are not nice. So glad to see another big family, but our home 2880sqft. We absolutely love it. I been married 15 years.

With so many kids her house is probbably not that clean all the time, it can't be, so don't stress. Just enjoy and accept the mess is the part of a happy living. 🙂😊🙂
So refreshing to see a large home like this that is actually lived in with a family. For years I cleaned alot of homes like this that were mostly empty and hardly used, I could feel the sadness. This home is full of joy and family memories. No space is wasted!
sharing a room with so many people scares me. i craved privacy as a teenager and hated it even when i just had to share a room w my younger sister every other weekend at my dad’s house. props to yall for having happy kids
actually why is there no door on the 16 year old’s room??? it’d be so easy to put a door. That’s such an invasion of privacy to have 8-10 year olds right outside the door UM
I came from a large family and sharing was part of life... we were not spoiled and we appreciated everything we had.
Plus the 16 year old and younger two girls all have to traipse through the 15 year old girl's "room". It's not hard to put up an actual wall in a room like that, and then flip the girls around so neither of the older two girls have little kids walking through their spaces. But then everyone has to walk through the girl's area to get to the theater room?!? But the girls can't go into the boys area (which is laid out so much nicer and has more privacy)?!? Yeah nope.
@@elliotkl You’re right. I’d understand if the children had to all share rooms due to money issues. However, there are easy fixes that you mentioned that would help the situation! They are choosing to remove any form of privacy from the kid’s lives.
@@kattttt9585you're right! And also the 15 y/old girl doesn't even have a room... I know that's "their house, their rules" but I seriously don't get why the younger boys and the older boys have separeted rooms while two girl teenagers have to share with their younger sisters.

My mother had 12 children in 12 years. We had one bathroom and three bedrooms. It was 1200 square feet and always immaculate. She only used cloth diapers. We all ate at the table my dad built for us. Our gym was a tire swing attached to a tree for climbing. We may have been poor in $$ but rich in faith. All of us went to Catholic schools which saved a bunch on clothing! SHE could have taught a us all A LOT about frugal organized housekeeping!
Now THAT is awesome. Being able to afford a house like this makes it so much easier. So so so much easier. I don't find this that amazing.

I thought... okay.... there’s no way she has no small appliances as a mom if 15! Those counters are EMPTY! Then you opened that coat closet and I went.... THERE they are. 😆
Thank you for sharing.. your home, your rules. I do encourage you to give deep thought to having such easy access in and out of the apartment being right next to your girls. Family or not... it could potentially be a danger.
I only have 2 kids (3rd on the way) but the "clean up bins" are a *fantastic* idea! I will definitely be doing this in our living room.

Her laundry solution is pretty awesome too. Love when families have systems in place to give kids responsibility and teach life Lessons.
The bins are a great idea. I don't have room for cleanup bins, but I put sheets of paper along the wall with each child's name on a sheet when it's time to pickup. That way they can put each other's things on/around the paper instead of going off to other rooms constantly. Especially helpful if your children are like mine...they go off to "put something away", and don't return until they're called out.

I love how you have a couch that seats everyone.
I grew up in a large family as well. We usually all shared rooms until we moved out. It’s not a problem when your used to it. We never needed to be in our rooms unless to sleep. So they are bonding and sharing space while young. Gives them incentive to move out at 18!!!! Haha

Can we all please stop and applaude her for looking so amazing after having 17 kids! 👏 You go girl. And you are organized.
Personally, I’d convert irrelevant rooms like the theatre room into an actual bedroom so you don’t have situations where children have to share with teenagers. Even having an extra apartment, works good for extra income but again, could be made into a couple of rooms? However my opinion is simply my own and as long as the family are happy✨
A house like this is created with the idea the kids aren't spending a lot of time in bedrooms except to sleep
I kind of agree. They have a two story tv area or or whatever. I’d put in a floor and ceiling. Instant space. Maybe it’s easier this way when they’re young.
Judging by the one room with internet access, I doubt they want any of their kids to have much privacy.
Thought the same thing, several kids share a bedroom but they have an apartment, doesn’t make sense to me

With how much space this house has, I cannot believe that 4 of the boys, have one of the smallest rooms, and have to share a bed (2 per bunk). Why does the eldest boy get such a large room, and the eldest girls room is small. The 4 boys should be in the eldest boys room, and he should have their room. Plus, the girls are not allowed up on the 2nd floor, so the boys get all that space, and girls don't have much space at all. You should share the space amongst the kids evenly.
Your home is wonderful, and you have utilized the space very efficiently. Looking forward to the Christmas decor video!

I’m feeling overwhelmed just watching, I have no idea how you can handle all of that house plus all of those kids! I only have 3 kids and a small house and feel overwhelmed most of the time! I’ve just found your channel! Going to watch more and see how you do it 😆
Is Dad teaching the girls about car maintenance? You only mentioned the boys. As a woman I wish I would've been taught about car maintenance, but what I know, I had to teach myself.
I thought the same exact thing. It’s not my family... but there were a lot of double standards that were sad to me
Right?!? Everyone should know something about car maintenance if they're going to be driving. My mother gets nervous putting gas in the car because no one ever taught her when she was learning to drive. So my father made sure we (kids) knew how to put gas in a car, check the oil, washer fluid, change windshield wipers, etc - at *minimum* - and couldn't drive until we could demonstrate that knowledge. I'm sure if my father was more into cars, we would have had to learn more as our "minimum" knowledge. This reminds me of the Duggars and how the boys were taught similar things about cars/tractors/etc but the girls weren't (or didn't get the same breadth of knowledge, since they'd have a husband to do all that for them...which is dumb since husband won't always be there if there's car trouble).
Everyone should at least know how to change a tire.
Dad may be teaching the girls the basics like how to change a tire, check the oil, put gas in, but building the car with his sons. She didn't mention every aspec of life in the video. Boys and girls are different, regardless of what the country says these days! It's ok for a dad to do things with his sons, and different things with the daughters! Same goes for mom. To me she seems like a pretty put together lady, with an awesome family, that understands that boys are boys, and girls are girls.
@@Crumpman agreed. As im sure the mom teaches her sons how to cook and bake and clean and craft... But there is SOMETHING about mother/daughter time ... As there is father/son time. If this is one way the family creates those special moments... A dad building a car with his sons... That's awesome!

I noticed there are no windows in the rooms in the basement and it appears a single point of entry. Have you considered the need for dual escape routes in case of a fire?

Noticed that as well. Those basement "bedrooms" would not pass fire code inspection or building inspection - there are no additional exit options in any of the rooms/,"rooms" (like a window), and two of the girls "rooms" are accessed via another room (access must be from a hallway or common area, not another bedroom). The little boys room wouldn't pass either...too many kids in too small a space. But I find the girl's rooms the most concerning in so many ways. Plus it's just sad the girls are stuck downstairs with no windows and thus no natural light. So depressing. 🙁
I’m wondering why the 15 year old has a chandelier right above her face as she sleeps... odd choice🤣

So, the girls are not allowed in the boys’ area but the boys are allowed downstairs in the girls’ area to be able to go to the theatre?
She says the kids can only use the theater room as a family. So I guess if everyone is down there it's ok.
@@kalyco6211 - I still see an issue with this because it creates a double standard. The girls are not allowed upstairs in the boys’ area, at all. Period. But the boys are allowed downstairs when it’s theatre time.

She probably meant that they can’t go down the other hall and into the girls’ rooms, Just like the girls are allowed upstairs, but aren’t allowed to go down the hall into the boys’ rooms.

You have such a beautiful home and family. To have such a huge family the household seems so calm. Your kids seem to be well mannered for their ages. You and your Husband are doing an awesome job and setting a great example for your children. It’s great how you mentioned how involved you and your husband are with the children. All of my children are adults now but that sets a great standard for families watching to show how to incorporate their children and work as a family unit

they get sponsored for everything off their social media platforms. these large families never pay for anything. most are on welfare or some type of assistance
@@BS-pd9hk I doubt they're on welfare with a huge house like this. They're clearly very successful and fairly well off!
The husbands a ceo of a company he created and she runs a daycare although idk how she’s legally allowed because typically it’s one adult per X amount of kids and that includes your own sooo idk but the husband makes good money obviously
