So sweet. Brings back so many memories for me. 20 years ago, when my husband and I were expecting our first child, we renovated a 750 sq. foot space for the three of us in an upper floor of his mom's house. It was a version of a "tiny" house 20 years ago. We had a kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom. Our son's crib was in our room. We had everything we needed in 750 sq. feet. But by the time our second child arrived, her cradle was in the living room, and we knew our time was short-lived. Eventually we had to move our family of 3 children into a 1475 sq. foot house, which we have now also outgrown as our children are young adults and each need a bedroom of their own (we have 3 bedrooms) ... but I love looking back at our "beginnings." At the time my friends who were having babies had big, beautiful nurseries to decorate and I felt a little left out, setting up a crib in our bedroom ... none of my babies had a nursery. But we have a beautiful and loving family and 20 years later, lots and lots of thankfulness. Congratulations, best wishes, and keep living your best life!

Even though I don’t necessarily want to live in a tiny house I find them very inspiring and a really good reminder that you don’t need a massive house to be functional and comfortable. I love the way many of these homes are clever and also so beautifully finished. I look at my own 95 sqm house and it seems not only spacious but full of possibilities for smart design that’s not only space saving but full of convenience.
For me, they also make me feel that it’s better to have a smaller house with a larger outdoor space, in opposition to what frequently happens where I live where people tend to cover the block with house and leave almost no space for outdoor living.

@@KawaiiMaterial Yes. Sometimes it is not so simple to get a simple life! 😉 This is a good situation to be on a relative's or friend's property with their house already built there. A shed remake is a fairly easy build and utilities are available usually. Most places have a town nearby. Permits are probably the trickiest depending on location and tax concerns for the property owner if the house is not on wheels ( that is also getting looked into by towns lately though)

While you’re living in your cookie cutter void of furniture & character McMansion & feeling anxious & depressed bc you’re house broke, these ppl are able to live with less stress & more money & probably enjoy their lives a little more! I have been wanting to build myself a tiny home, possibly off-the-grid, and maybe homestead. I got divorced in 2015 and I want to eventually create an easily manageable lifestyle with as few financial worries as possible-- like everything would be paid for, no utilities plus I would homestead and work out of my home. When I first became divorced, I was unemployed at that time and wound up homeless on a few different occasions. I lived without power for over a year and had trouble keeping myself fed. So I believe my desire to live simply and not have massive debts to pay, stems from that experience.
I actually love tiny homes. It is just me, my dog and cat (no kids or hubby) so a tiny home where I can homestead, have a fully equipped living space and work out of my house would be totally ideal for me.

I live in a 500 sq ft apartment myself, and am saving so I can do some furnishing renovation with items from Ikea. I'd definitely recommend giving them a look for when you do make your tiny house.

@@sandrajohnson9926 Some of these designs as it gets more and more common are absolutely ingenius. Artists do the best jobs usually. Yay for creativity! I love when normal size kitchens and bathrooms are managed. I would really need a washer of some type though. It is HARD to schlep laundry in the cold and heat. Did it too long. These kind are nothing like the old uncomfortable brown wood trailers and small homes from the past created by the unimaginative builders. Inspiring.
