    Find out the visual differences between a D vs H vs I color diamond engagement ring. In this video, we line up the diamonds side by side and critically examine them under various environments.
    Doing so would enable you to see exactly what they look like in real life. In the process, you will get answers for yourself whether a H or I color diamond is too yellow to your tastes or whether they are virtually identical to each other.
    Watch the video in full and let me know whether you can see any differences between the diamonds or do they all appear white to you?
    If you can't see differences, that's perfectly normal as the GIA diamond color scale is very subtle between the grades. Most people can't see any yellow tints or hue in the face up view when they do a live test.
    I hope this video helped.

    I wear an N color ideal cut diamond engagement ring. When I first saw the ring, I noticed the color right away, but it’s in an 18k yellow gold setting, so it really does not matter, as the cut is what makes the stone a star. Obviously, this stone would never work in a white metal., unless the wearer is interested in a stone with color. Thanks for showing three colors side by side for comparison. It drives home the point that cut is really what makes a diamond beautiful!

    Hey bro, love your content. Been watching a lot of your videos for research lately.
    Quick question, if compared side by side. Would you be able to tell the difference between a F and an H colour oval 1.4 carat diamond in ideal lighting conditions if they were both set on 14k rose gold ring?

    I think the difference between D and I is somewhat noticeable in the video but I think we also need to take into account how closely these diamonds are being looked at. Even then the differences are only noticeable under specific lighting conditions and angles.

    From the side the color difference is very clear but surprisingly the non D colors aren’t as yellow as I expected them to be. From above in sunlight it’s hard to see the yellow on video until you move to side view, side view shows it; however I could see some yellow under the LED looking down at them. Do the H & I have any fluorescence in them?

    I can only see the difference in some of side views, but they all look beautiful and face up are all white 💎 I would put cut above all else and then color and clarity. Although I don’t think I would go below SI1 and J in color. As long as the diamond 💎 is eye clean and faces up white I’m a happy camper!

    I can see the color differences mostly from the side view. I don’t think most people will be looking that closely. I still picked an I diamond. Cut and clarity were way more important. Mine is 1.5 I color VVS2 earth mined excellent polish and symmetry ideal cut no fluorescence.

      @@MADfootage GIA and AGS are the best graders of diamond cut, colour and clarity. Try find a diamond with at least SI1 clarity with a table no bigger then 55% to 59% a crown angel between 34.2% to 34.8% and a lower half of between 75% to 78% and a depth of between 60.8% to 62%. That should get you in the ball park of AGS ideal and GIA excellent cut grades. Look out for dark crystal inclusion on the table, cloud inclusions and feather inclusions in lower clarity diamonds as these can affect diamond scintillation and brilliance. Also surface graining and florescence can make some diamonds appear cloudy to.

    • @kutie216
      @kutie216 3 роки тому

      I’m not an expert, but from what I’ve researched, yes color will be more obvious in a larger stone.
      It also depends on the setting, some settings have a good view of the side of the diamond which is where you can see color more easily.
      Fancy shapes will tend to show more color than round brilliants.

    Yes D E F all the way although I will say that these diamonds look great from above in this video in person I noticed yellow in others stones right away. The problem is that these look great here but when you get in real world lighting like in an office or store I bet you will see the yellow like I do so often with others. Back when I bought my wife’s ring in 1997 I wanted a 1.5 carat center stone but after researching and comparing stones I dropped down to just over 1 carat to get D with exceptional cut clarity no fluorescence, this stone is amazing in any light and so white it really standouts from so many larger ones. When she cleans it she still gets so many compliments today 20+ years later.

      Your bs, you cannot tell the difference from D to H. because they are in the same colorless realm..you especially cannot tell the difference when they are set over yellow gold..they all look the same to the naked eye 👁

    • @msk3905
      @msk3905 2 роки тому +2

      @@thestayathomedad4240 i absolutely can see difference in color when under LED light then turned to side and like I said you put these in real world situations the yellow will only be amplified. Yellow gold helps masks the yellow but you put a D next to a H in real world conditions and it will be clearer. By the way D color grade is colorless where H grade is near colorless, different grade classes.

    Differences in color were easily detectable to me. Why pay for D you asked? Well because it’s perfect and will alway go up in price more then any other grade. So if ya can afford it go for it and be sure to tell the little lady as her knowing she has a perfect colorless internally flawless diamond just makes her little fun are between her legs so wet every time she looks at it knowing she made of well if ya cheat on her. Just found a 1/2 carat diamond ring while metal detecting few days before Christmas. I’ll edit the comment and post the video in my comment because I don’t have it now and I’m not typing all this again... LOL.
