Stupidly, I never told my then boyfriend. When he proposed with a simple, 1.25ct cushion cut solitaire, I fell in love with it and wouldn't trade it for anything. Just the idea that he went to a jewelry store and said, "that's the one for her" is so sweet to me. 🙂

I prefer a diamond that may be a bit smaller but has a higher cut grade, color, and clarity! There are so many beautiful options.

This set is almost 30 yrs old and I STILL get compliments on it regularly because it's so unique. The hubs did good!!

That’s true. It does look smaller in real life! It also depends on the size of a hand.. I’ve got quite big fingers (size 7 or 7.5) and most photos and videos of stone size comparison I see on the internet is on a hand w/ ring sizes around 6. So the stone will look smaller on a bigger hand
I think about my mom and dad and how her first ring had a .25ct diamond and she loved it to pieces and now after 30 years of marriage to my dad and her ring getting lost in a move, she is getting herself a little over a carat in size and she thinks it’s huge! She always had small fingers when young but she is now a size 7. I feel like a carat is a good size for most fingers.
@@nessapie23 yes! My mom had the .25 size too for 31 years now! I just got engaged and got a 1 carat emerald cut sapphire and I wouldn't want it any bigger tbh
I hope you can feature the carat size on a bigger finger size too. in my case I wear size 9 and barely sees one so hard to really know what cut is best for my chunky finger
I wear a size 9 as well. I think elongated radiant cut, emerald cut, or oval cut is the best for a size 9 finger. Also at least a 1.50 ct diamond in a halo or a 2.00 carat diamond at least without a halo would look great. If you and your man has the money I would go for a 2.50 carat stone
If you want a diamond I would recommend getting a lab diamond since they're basically half the price of natural diamonds even tho it's made of the same chemical compound. This way you can go for a bigger stone and not be in debt lol
I think you should check out Jeulia.com. I have 3 ring sets from them and it's stunning! You cannot tell the difference. I get compliments all the time and catch people staring at my hands. They are not cz but lab created which is the way to go. It's a 9 on a scale compared to a diamond being a 10. I opted to go with a lab created because the more research I did on diamonds I found they are literally worthless! There is nothing special or rare about them. We've been made to think they are and that there's social status with them. Not to mention the slave labor. And this is not against anyone who wants a diamond or has one. If you are interested check them out!

My engagement ring is a marquise cut diamond solitaire and I have small hands and slim fingers so it looks amazing people always assume it’s a much bigger carat than it is because the stone is long and slimmer than the ones shown. This video was rlly helpful BUT it would have been nice to know the ring size of the girl modelling all the diff sizes because my ring finger is quite small a 5 US or a J in Australian. Although from the video I do think I want Oval in anything from 1ct to 1.5 but can't be sure since idk how thicc this girl's finger is lol.

Please make a version of this video for different ratio stones. For example a 1:1, 1.2:1, 1.3:1, and 1.4:1 radiant cut. I’d love to figure out what ratio I like best.
This is a nice reference but people also need to think with the actual cut of the diamond. A cut can make a 1CT look like anywhere between a .75 to a 1.25. Especially the marquise shape. Depending on the cut, a marquise can look half or double it’s actual CT.
Lauren B Jewelry yeah but you should be more specific about that. Your average size is not going to look how your video displayed it. I’d be so disappointed if I ordered a ct based on your size and it came to me looking nearly half the size. You should at least mention it
Pardon me if I'm wrong, but, I don't understand why jewelers put diamonds on the SIDE of the ring. Looks gorgeous for sure, but, when you put the matching band next to it, the diamonds on the side get covered up by the ring or rings, if you decide to go with two wedding rings to go on both sides, and also, wouldn't the diamonds on the sides of the engagement and wedding rings get scratched? 16 years ago, I found Better Than Diamond website and I bought the Asha simulated diamonds because at the time, that's all they offered and got one of every shape( except the round stone and since they didn't make the shapes, the marquise and the heart) in the 2 carat size and since they didn't have the 2 carat in the Pear size, I got the 2.50 carat pear. They are still beautiful to this day. I will have to say, that the 2 carat size in the fancy shapes are the perfect size for me, but, for some reason, I do have 1.50, 2 and 2.50 carat Diamonique rings and I find in the round diamond, 1.50 is the perfect size for my hand. Weird. Anything bigger than a 1.50 is too large, but, seems perfect in the fancy shapes. I used to wear a size 6, but, have gained some weight and now, I wear size 7, which is what I wear on my right hand. :D
I noticed that the 2 Ct Marquise vs 3 Ct. Marquise look different with the larger carat weight looking very slim, table and depth with ratio play so much into how big it looks. Beautiful, thank you for showing this. Love your rings.
What a GREAT video! I have an idea you might want to do in a video. This video is great because it gives perspective of different size and cut will look on the model's hand. Because there are also noticeable differences in color and clarity, perhaps you could do a video showing nearly identical weight and cut stones showing the variation in color, perhaps a "D" compared to a "H" color stone, or a "IF" to a lower clarity stone. In any case, great job on this video! Well done!
Thanks, this really helped me in my search for engagement rings. I’m so glad I’m with a German woman who would kick my ass if I bought her a 3 carat ring for 30k instead of spending that money on traveling the world together. Some of those larger rock sizes looked really impractical and in poor taste. A 4 carat ring seems like it would get caught in clothing and hair and is disproportionate to the ring and the woman’s hand. Probably gonna get a 1ct oval
@Lana No one is saying there's anything wrong with a large rock. Personally, I'm not into a stone that size; however, mine is 2.1 carats which might be considered too large by other people's standards! I ultimately think adopting a universal rule such as, "1-carat is the reasonable size for an e-ring" isn't a good idea because people have different finger sizes and preferences; however, there are some practical hindrances with a larger stone. Mine, for instance, is set in a high double gallery mount which means it can get caught on things and snag. That's not a big deal for me; I just twist the stone to the inside of my finger when I put on clothes/take clothes off, but some people might not want to deal with that. I really appreciate you for suggesting moissanite though! They are definitely more economical and ethical for rings. If I hadn't gone with a sapphire, I definitely would've picked moissanite. As for the ring shaming, I don't doubt that people can be negative about big stones, but I've also seen people, especially with diamonds, shame women who have smaller diamonds or diamonds with lower clarity, so I think people can just be kind of judgy about rings, unfortunately.
Jamal Nichols I know enough about diamonds to recommend to always get a D color, as the best color is no color. Then choose the clarity you can afford. Also, I bought diamonds on Adiamor online, and they were all appraised for a lot more than I paid for them.
1-2c is, in my opinion, the ideal size for a center stone. Round is the most popular and traditional cut but an oval will appear bigger. Look into clarity enchanted rings, mine cost 2k vs the 10k it would have cost had it been pulled out of the ground at that clarity and color.
They all nice. But it all depends on the woman hands that make the carat look smaller or bigger. I prefer a 1.0 or 2.0 carat is the perfect size on a small to medium hand
Truee, it'd be nice if you put the model's hand size on the description. I read 5.75 for the solitaire and 5.5 for other ones, maybe the one with pink nail polish.
Does anyone ever wonder what size the model is wearing? And what size their hand is for comparison to mine? Proportion is everything and this is my first time looking
My ring size is only a 1.25 center stone with side baguettes in platinum. However the quality is impeccable, it’s as clear as can be. I have a square emerald shape with tapered baguettes on the side. And my wedding band is an infinity diamond band in platinum, with a unique hexagon shape. We actually got them custom made at a private jeweler. Love my rings!
My dream was always a 2ct Ascher cut in an art deco setting, preferably in silver since platinum is a softer metal. Got proposed with a 1/3ct anniversary setting. Recently upgraded to a 2ct round black diamond with a skull wedding band.

Agreed. My size is 4.75 and I tried on a 5 carat. It was beautiful but a little too big. I think between 2.5 and 3.5 carat is the sweet spot. Gives the wow factor without overwhelming the finger.
Round cut and Asscher are my favesd, and 2 kt would be perfect (more would be even better) the heart looks nice too, they arer all beautiful, that 2.01 heart with the split band was stunning!!

hi i'd like to know what whats the ring size of the one wearing it? because the size may differ for smaller & bigger ring size.. I'd like to know, for reference when I buy my ring 😊
This is a wonderful video. But, for some reason, the stones in person actually look slightly smaller than here in the video. So, be aware that your stone might look smaller than what you see here!
Yes diamond carat weight is just suggestive of how large it will look. Some are cut deeper and thus appear smaller than their carat weight suggests while others are cut more precisely to allow a larger face up appearance.
Hi Levi, the 1.54ct cushion is 7.85mm x 6.25mm and the 1.61ct cushion is 8.5mm x 6.3mm. I have linked both rings for you! www.laurenbjewelry.com/1-54-carat-cushion-cut-lab-diamond-solitaire-engagement-ring.html www.laurenbjewelry.com/1-61-carat-cushion-cut-lab-diamond-solitaire-engagement-ring.html
I love the .50 to under 1 carat. Those really big carats if I saw someone on the street with them, I would think it was fake. People don't realize they cost $20k and up. Who would spend that on a ring? Ridiculous.
Some people buy alternative diamonds, lab grown, moissanite, white sapphire etc. All of which aren't typically cheap. I suppose it's more about the person, and there tastes rather than price you know?
@@river6569 You sound ridiculous. $20k is a lot of money to spend on a ring. To 75% of the world it would be a lot of money. That people spend $75k, 100K etc is nice. That is not the norm.
Same but I almost have the opposite problem! Anything 1carat and over looks a bit ridiculous on my size 4 finger 😂 It’s so strange to me that finger size isn’t more talked about when making ring/stone selection bc it can be a big factor.
I'm a size 9 too and tried on a lot of rings as most don't look proportional on me. I have a 2 and 3/4 karat princess cut quad. It's big and square which I love.
For everyone who was wondering (just as I did) the model’s ring size is 5.5 :)

@@sbradley1308 clarity enhanced diamonds are at high risk for breaking
Would be helpful to have this video with different sized fingers. Love this video though!
Great idea!
Thank for this. I feel like only a few us realize that different sizes look different on the finger, opposed to in a box.
0:47, 1:57 🤍 2.75 or 3CT round seems perfect..😍 of course I wouldn't mind getting something bigger haha
They all nice. But it all depends on the woman hands that make the carat look smaller or bigger. I prefer a 1.0 or 2.0 carat is the perfect size on a small to medium hand
3.23 CT Pear Ring was my favorite 😍💍
Of course the round cut is my favorite. I have extremely expensive taste 😞 Without even trying
The oval gemstone cut is my favorite and the round cut is a close second. 💎💍💎💍
Can’t choose between a 5 carat cushion or oval I love them both
this video is so soothing lol
Thanks for watching! Glad you feel relaxed
Your videos are always so helpful and informative! Thank you!
Thank you!
Truee, it'd be nice if you put the model's hand size on the description. I read 5.75 for the solitaire and 5.5 for other ones, maybe the one with pink nail polish.
Princess cut✨😍
Very helpful! Thanks for posting.
Enjoyed the the video and the music 🎵. All the diamond shapes are lovely. I like the smaller carat size. My favorite is the princess cut 💍👌🏻
Does anyone ever wonder what size the model is wearing? And what size their hand is for comparison to mine? Proportion is everything and this is my first time looking
Her ring size is 5.75
OMG I thought I knew exactly what I wanted🤷🏾♀️
Ladies who are simple your big diamond is going to annoy you. I can't wait to get married so I can just wear the band.
The 3ct round diamond on her finger looks bigger than on my finger that's cause mine is abit rounder than her finger
Yes each shape will look different on each person! That's what makes them all unique
@@laurenbjewelry I'm getting a 5ct heart shape diamond for my 23rd anniversaries... Which would be better in value, the wider shape or the elongated shape....thanks
My husban gave methe most beautyful ringfor our 19 anerversy had 19 dimondsround dinner ring we were mairred for forty three years but enyways they STOLE it 2 years i had for my Grand DAUGHTER u can imagen how i felt im so heart 💔 my husban left to be our LORD 10 years ago i never took it off except to do dishs and it WALKED away im always looking to 👀 if u show thank you GOD BLESS korrine
Why don't you put prices on ur website?
Loved cushion & elongated cushion (3 & 4 ct). Just noticed my former favs (radiant & emerald) aren’t as sparkly.
No way! Radiants have more facets than a cushion and have a ton of fire. But you are right about Emerald cuts - not as sparkly.
Very helpful for my current situation. Thank you.
2.0 CT Oval. DREAM RING RIGHT THERE 💕💕
I tried on a 2 carat oval and it looks tiny
Wow, I really enjoyed this video!
Glad to hear that
Table of contents?! Influencers don’t even make videos of this quality. Amazing video!!
We try out best!
My husband bought me a 0.75 ct halo e-ring and I feel like the halo helps make the diamond look bigger. Before he told me the price of diamond rings I was asking for a 5ct ring 🤣
0.5 carat is enough. 🤲 just give it already! Lol
I think I need a smaller diamond 😅 I currently have a cushion cut engagement ring that's 4ct and my finger is a size 4.25 so it takes up my whole finger 🤣
Yes! We love them too
Thank you so very much for this video! It was beautiful and inspiring 💕. Keep them coming!
Thank you! Will do!
Wish it would have shown the smaller size cushion cuts being rotated on the hand instead of skipping right to the 1c...
This video was really helpful !!
We are happy you enjoyed it!
Excellent video! Great information! Also I usually do not like the background music on UA-cam videos. However your music choice is excellent! Thank you!
Awesome, thank you!
what are the dimensions of the 2.50 elongated cushion?
8.5x7.6
Incredibly helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Would be nice to know the prices too
I would like to see prizes korrine
Best video ever! I have referred to this so many times! Thank you so much!
Thank you- glad it is helpful!
Simply elegant ❤️
Bellissimi meravigliosi splendidi diamanti stupendi cantautrice capitani gabriella
I like the 3.0 ct Marquise
I have a round 1.5 diamond engagement ring and I think it’s a beautiful ring but any bigger and it’s like a gum ball machine ring and it’s also about the grading, mine was nearly 10k because it was a good grading.
What is the model’s hand size ?
Finger size 5.5
omg, can EVERY video have a timestamped table of contents at the beginning?? LOVE that feature! great video.
Thank you!
I like the cushion one the best
i dont knw why but i m in lov with princess cut
I like the princess cut too 😊💍👌🏻
hi i'd like to know what whats the ring size of the one wearing it? because the size may differ for smaller & bigger ring size.. I'd like to know, for reference when I buy my ring 😊
Just beautiful. I love jewellery. My favourite is cushion and Asscher. Thanks for tyis!!
Oval & Pear 😍
We love those elongated shapes too!
My 0.5 round cut ring on my size 4 finger is perfect ❤❤
This is a wonderful video. But, for some reason, the stones in person actually look slightly smaller than here in the video. So, be aware that your stone might look smaller than what you see here!
Yes diamond carat weight is just suggestive of how large it will look. Some are cut deeper and thus appear smaller than their carat weight suggests while others are cut more precisely to allow a larger face up appearance.
@@laurenbjewelry Thanks for your response. I think the reason is also because of it being a video. It looks different in person.
What are the dimensions and ratios of the 1.70ct and 2.0ct radiant cuts at @7:20?? Also the 1.8ct @7:35??
Please email sara@laurenb.com for detailed inquiries!
What a well made and useful video! Thank you. :)
Thank you Susan!
3 k is perfect 👌
Perfect for those fat fingers
Marquise very extraordinary
What are the measurements for the 1.5 carat cushion diamond?
Hi Levi, the 1.54ct cushion is 7.85mm x 6.25mm and the 1.61ct cushion is 8.5mm x 6.3mm. I have linked both rings for you!

1:42 THE 1.75 LOOKS ABSOLUTELY GORGE
Amazing video brilliant video
Thank you for posting something like this
Glad you enjoyed it
I love the .50 to under 1 carat.
What about people who just have the money and like the bigger carat? Not everyone is broke and poor. 20k is nothing to a lot of people
@@river6569 You sound ridiculous. $20k is a lot of money to spend on a ring. To 75% of the world it would be a lot of money. That people spend $75k, 100K etc is nice. That is not the norm.
What are the dimensions of the 4ct elongated radiant cut stone?
10.6x8.1
My 1c center stone looks really small on my chubby fingers 🤣 I'm a size 9!
Same but I almost have the opposite problem! Anything 1carat and over looks a bit ridiculous on my size 4 finger 😂 It’s so strange to me that finger size isn’t more talked about when making ring/stone selection bc it can be a big factor.
S Bradley maybe have it set in a halo style design. It would give it a little added dimension and give it the appearance of being larger.
@@snowviolet508 Yes !!! Great advice ... ☺️
@@oceana3070 Yes, exactly ! ☺️
I'm a size 9 too and tried on a lot of rings as most don't look proportional on me. I have a 2 and 3/4 karat princess cut quad. It's big and square which I love.
