@adiazde2 On another note, yet related I have the video files in cue for a program on this very subject of fluoroescence. I didn't have any with yellow or white on hand though when I shot it but I had all the varying strenghts from none - very strong. It'll be an upcoming program here on "The Diamonds Channel in HD" so stay tuned. :)
This video is very honest and helpful!
I love the graduated light brown especially when they show a hint of pink.
Very educational videos, thank you.
May have to take a trip to NY soon.
Best diamond videos on the internet!
This is the best video showing diamond colour! Thank you so much.

I gotta say I'm obsessed with the warm stones k+. There something very pretty, elegant and mature looking about them.
I 100% agree- they are so beautiful
I'm a I guy

Your kind words are greatly appreciated gino. Lord willing one day we will meet face to face!
They're all beautiful
Totally ok sir and your words of encouragement are greatly appreciated. Have you seen part 1? What Diamond Color Isn't?
Excellent video thank you !
So helpful! Thank you! I actually originally had a warmer color in my wedding ring, a vintage style halo, then when the setting had to be re-done I had a Colorless put in. Long story short, ended up going back to the warmer color. It fit the style of the thing better. Took me time to realize exactly what you said. Color alone doesn’t represent beauty. In my case I thought the Colorless actually just looked out of place in the setting. Thanks again. Great video.
We're glad that our video was helpful!
Thank you so much for your videos! I feel like I'm learning so much! Unfortunately I can't visit your store as I am in Australia but I am thinking of purchasing a loose diamond and get it set through your online store. Wish me luck!
Thank you so much for this video - so very helpful!
We're glad the video was of assistance : )
Fantastic thorough video
LOL... Part 3 not completed. :P I have the footage and I have it in que. All I need now is that precious commodity called *time*. ;) Glad you are enjoying Olivia. If you are even in the market we appreciate you giving us a chance to help.
I love the colorless or near colorless diamonds and always thought if I won the lottery, I'd get one, but, up until now, whenever I saw the K-M colored stones, didn't think much of them. I knew I wouldn't want one, but, now that I'm looking at the three you just showed against the white background, I can't believe how lovely they are. I like to be different, and those diamonds you are showing are definitely different, even the N & O face up were absolutely stunning and I would take them LOL!
Thank you again for your videos. Learn so much from you.
ProudKansan08 thank you so much for watching and for your kind words. We’re so happy to hear you’d now consider a warmer color stone after watching our video. 😊 If you like different, we have many different cuts and would be happy to help you find one that you’d be proud to show off.
Excellent demonstration👌🏼. Helped tremendously. Thank you.
We're glad the video was helpful! If you're even in the market for a diamond, feel free to contact sales@goodoldgold.com as we should be able to beat anyone's prices. For instance, if you see a diamond on another website, there's a good chance we can offer you that same exact diamond at a lower price!
They are all beautiful 🤩
Great video!
Good vid. Useful stuff
I love your videos.
How do you keep up with what's what?! Lots of diamonds to keep track of.
Enjoying the videos immensely! :) I can't seem to find part 3? Have I lost my marbles?
Any help getting directed to the next part in the series would be wonderful. Thank you for sharing with us! oxoxo
I'm loving the N-O diamonds!
This video is so helpful! Thank you !
Thanks, we're glad it was helpful! If you're in the market for a diamond, feel free to reach out to sales@goodoldgold.com . We can usually save customers significant $$ for the same diamond that's being sold elsewhere.
This was so helpful. I’m waiting for my engagement ring to be made..and really wanted a higher grade color but the cost jumped up significantly for the carat size.
My choice came down between a 2.51 vvs 1 H (bigger spread 1.43) & 2.8 vvs1 J- I chose the 2.5 because the very slightly warm tone the J gave me would bug me in the long run. Hopefully I chose right, but this video was very helpful!
We're glad the video was of assistance!
I just got a D, VS1, Excellent cut and 1.5 carat in oval shape. So happy with it
Excellent videos by the way I have learned quite a bit of information in regards to the color of the diamond...
As of now I have only read the differences and haven't seen them side by side...
If you don't mind me asking what is your definition of an exceptional cut?
I have purchased a diamond with the hearts and arrows cut as I was told that was the best cut available...
My engagement ring is a halo in yellow gold, with a pear cut diamond. .90, vvs2, K color. It is absolutely beautiful, the k color diamond compliments the yellow gold amazingly.
Pricescope and GOG taught me a lot!!! I honestly got addicted on crushed ice appearance on cushion cut
Hey Monica, Nice to see you on our UA-cam channel. You're always so kind with your comments on Instagram, we appreciate all your positivity and kind words. I'm so glad you've learned so much from us that means the world.
Very helpful video! My engagement ring is a 2ct I colour, but, when I decide to buy a large diamond, I will shop for a K+ colour, The warmth is intriguing, & subtly beautiful: as though a little candlelight, or a piece of a sunbeam got trapped inside the stone.
That's a beautiful way to put it! When the time comes for an upgrade, feel free to look in our direction as we should be able to beat anyone's prices while matching apples to apples regarding quality : )
I bought the VVS1 without watching these video I got L . I’m still happy with mine. I do better on the next upgrade.
Thanks, I love the yellow cast stones and whoever did the cutting, did a great job.
Me too, I like color.
Thank you for this helpful video! Deciding between an E and F
You're welcome. Also, if you're buying a diamond online, keep in mind that we should be able to beat anyone's prices and often have access to the same exact diamond you see elsewhere. A quick email to sales@goodoldgold along with the link of the diamond you're viewing often saves customers hundreds of dollars on that same exact diamond!
Excellent in depth video.👏👏👏
Thanks for your feedback : )
Color M is the most flattering to me!
I purchased a 1ct M for my soon to be fiance and have to say in an 18ct gold setting solitaire, it looks absolutely gorgeous! I'm a guy and I'm in love with it.
J absolutely.
@LouisVuittonPrince why thank you Louis. Did you see Part 1 of this? Not as long but would be curious to know your thoughts on this too.
Awesome video. Side by side comparison of the whole range of diamonds is hard to find and do research on
Thanks, we're glad the video was helpful ; ) If you're even in the market for a diamond, feel free to contact sales@goodoldgold.com . We should be able to beat anyone's prices when comparing apples to apples regarding quality. love the D E Fs .. G Hs. Thank you
Mine is VVS1 L and it look perfectly clear to me .
I love the sparkling warmth of a K diamond. I find whiter colour diamonds beautiful to contour a colour stone like an emerald, a ruby or a sapphire. For a solitary diamond I definitely prefer a K.
We appreciate you sharing your preferences : )
I’m thinking of getting a k diamond.
Educational!
Very helpful!
Thank you for sharing!
Greetings from Singapore.🌷🇸🇬

Thanks, we're glad the video was helpful! If your even in the market for a diamond and see one on another website, let us know. Chances are we can offer you he same exact diamond for less $$!
Adore pink diamonds and aquamarine
Your videos are the best could you do a video of the K L and M in different colored settings like gold, rose gold, platinum.
We could do that. Feel free to contact sales@goodoldgold.com with your request and we'll be happy to make you a personalized video showing off one of our warmer colored diamonds in a gold, rose, and platinum setting.
I have a question for you, I am having a custom pendant made and the diamonds are rows of the micro diamonds... i have a good price for SI 1 I color, they wanted to go with SI 1 H color, but of course its a bit more money. With the diamonds being so small is the difference in H and I color worth the extra money? Set in yellow gold.
Elegant diamond ring I love it ..
Edesa Javier thank you for watching our video and your kind words 😊
I have onky seen one flawless in my life and WOW IT WAS STUNNING 💍
We agree. Although rare, it's fascinating when a diamond shows up that's as perfect as a flawless diamond!
what do you think of an EGL rating? i know about them being much less conservative in their ratings, but is it really something I should stay away from? also, how do you feel about the long-term affect of clarity enhancement? having very limited knowledge on stones all I have heard is that it makes the stone look much better but also is quite risky in the future for durability and possible color change in the filler. could you shed some light on those issues please? thanks a lot
@adiazde2 Thanks for your kind words. In answer to your question fluoroescence is generally not an issue, particularly when it fluoroesces blue. Rarely will it cause negative effects. Colors other than blue like yellow is another story though. If you are not purchasing through us then I would highly suggest comparing it to another diamond with no fluoroescence (or even blue) side by side in sunlight or natural daylight which emits long wave UV to allow you to see the differences.
Amazing video. Thank you
Thanks, we're glad the video was helpful!
I love fluorescense. The more, the better.
I have a J diamond and it sparkles quite nicely!
Sounds like it's cut quality is really good! A lot of brilliant light return!
@@DiamondInfoMan thank you for that kind comment! I was on a very strict budget!
I'd love a part 3 :(
I prefer the diamond into gh color that has alot of fire with other color going through it
Great video! I just ordered a marquise J color VVS1 Diamond and thought maybe I fucked up with the color but seeing them next to each other I feel like it will be fine
We're glad the video was of assistance. If your looking for a diamond in the future, feel free to contact sales@goodoldgold.com. We should be able to beat the price you were offered for that same exact diamond (as long as we have access to it)!
Thank you.
Your welcome Saif.. We should usually be able to beat anyone's prices when comparing apples to apples. So if interested, feel free to call us at (516) 798-5151 ext#3 or email us at sales@goodoldgold.com find out if we can save you $$ as we've done for so many in the past!
I am interested in a diamond with a warmth to it but i don't want it to be canary or bright yellow, I love the colors J to M, how much do you think a 1 carat round or princess cut would cost with a clarity no lower than SI2??
By the way, Love your videos, thank you for the info... very very helpful
I saw a forever brilliant that was more stunning to me than any of the other gems in the store so I was wondering what your opinion on Moissanite is?
excuse me sir please, can you stain a diamond whit a sandpaper meaning:a diamond cannot be scratched but if scratched too hard whit corundum can cause the diamond to become dirty,by the streak of the corundum or sandpaper.
I am from Ireland but I love watching your video on your website and video on engagement rings i am looking forward to wearing the day my boyfriend puts it on me
Hi grog,
Moisannite happen to be very dispersize gem stones. Bear in mind they don't have the strength or durability of diamond but this is also reflected in the cost as well.
Be careful with moisannite and anything oily like hand creams, salad dressing, etc. It will ruin the sparkle of the stone. Moisannite is porous and will soak up the oil with a permanent affect.
Parabéns show de bola amigo
I prefer a warmer diamonds, It looks so good on my skin tone. My diamonds are all H's. I would have preferred a J but my husband upgraded my ring set by surprise so I'm not complaining. And the H still has a noticeable warmth to it I noticed it anyway. Its noticeable in different lighting.
Thanks for sharing!!
What a great video
Thanks, We appreciate your feedback!
Hi Olivia. Just checked and my son David found your email... it was filtered! ACK. My sincere apologies as we generally have all email answered within 24 hours! Look out for a response very shortly.
When it comes to H&A diamonds I generally prefer photographic evidence as there are many companies now advertising it and under examination turn out not to be. But in way of 57 faceted diamonds genuine Hearts & Arrows diamonds are among the best out there. There are other round diamond that others deem equally if not more beautiful as well that are also cut for high optics. Among them are the Solasfera, The August Vintage Old European Cut, the Eighternity & the Star129. Search on my channel
I’ve just ordered a eternity ring with 0.5ct F colour diamonds GIA I’m really hoping they are nice and bright as they have faint / med fluorescent
When working with a decent retailer, most eternity rings will have the diamonds handpicked to match which means you should be safe. If it doesn't work out though, we're just a phone call away as we should be able to beat anyone's prices when comparing apples to apples regarding quality! (516) 798-5151
Thank you 🙏👍
You're welcome. We're glad the video was of assistance! If you're in the market for a diamond by any chance, feel free to contact sales@goodoldgold.com. We should be able to beat anyone's prices while matching apples to apples regarding quality...
Farout I’m watching this high!! FMD
The pale champagne hews dosent detract from the stone as long as the clarity and cut is good , I don't think! It's very subtle .
i have 50 cent green diamond . how should i expect if i sell it
@xestradax1 I just love colorblind women! :) Thanks for the kind words. The people on Pricescope have good intentions and I do in fact advertise and participate there as time allows. Been doing so since 2001. Good intentions however is no replacement for solid knowledge and facts which is why I produce these videos. More important to your purchasing decision is the optics of the diamond you are considering no matter the shape. GIA Ex's vary in their appearance as do AGS Ideals.
Great video thanks
Thanks, we're glad you enjoyed the video! If you're in the market for a diamond (earth or lab grown) feel free to contact sales@goodoldgold.com as we should be able to beat anyone's prices when comparing quality! Often, a brief email to us can save customers hundreds of dollars!
I love diamond and i like ur vedeo
Hi I'm looking for a 18k yellow gold ring. what colour stone would you recommend for a cushion stone on a halo square ring? Do you feel that going lower in colours would provide better value as its sitting on yellow gold? I was thinking J or K and then improving the quality to IF. Great vid too.
Hi, since you're interested in a yellow gold settling, you might be able to get away with a J-K color diamond without seeing too much contrast between the center stone and setting (depending on how color sensitive you are). They tend to blend in more nicely together compared to a lower colored diamond in a white gold setting.
If you're interested in an online diamond, feel free to contact sales@goodoldgold.com and don't hesitate to share the link of a diamond you might be interested in. There's a good chance we'll be able to offer you the same exact diamond for less $$.
Thanks, it’s a good thing my husband has taught himself with the help of some books and some experts hopefully by the end of these videos, he’ll feel comfortable enough to make his p the purchases I’ve been waiting for. Truthfully since the pandemic has been roaring through the world where am I going to wear new jewellery ? Thanks for all your info
We're glad that our educational videos are of assistance. If your husband is considering buying a diamond, feel free to contact sales@goodoldgold.com. There is a good chance we have access to the same diamond he's viewing elsewhere and odds are we can offer that exact diamond to you for less than its listed price!
@khitan004 You'd think right? Hey ... if this has helped you, more power to ya. If there is any way we can be of assistance we're here for ya.
really? moissanite is a 9.25 on the mohs scale. alsmost as strong. and 10 times cheaper
Very nice experience sir
Thanks. We're glad that you enjoyed the presentation!
@khitan004 Likely. Since you are looking at princess cuts I would HIGHLY recommend you go to my channel and type "Princess" into the search box and watch the videos I've done on princess cuts. There are some really rare ones out there with optics that will just blow your mind. You will also learn/see how a J colored princess cut can face up whiter than an H color. ;)
... worse value and yes ... in times even better value. Thing is ... it is not a cheap process to hunt down what are the actual values amongst EGL graded diamonds and the better values I would say are among the minority in EGL graded diamonds.
Clarity enhancement: I have a couple of videos on this subject that you can search for on our channel where I go into greater depth but in short clarity enhancement can be fine if you are looking to maximize the size of the diamond but it must be ...
Are there ever times where the body color is more colorless than the face up color? What would cause this? Also how does the face down color grading work in certain shapes like pear and marquise where more color is at the tips versus belly or is the color distribution even face down???
That's a good question.. Other than a color reflection coming from an external stimuli, we have not experienced a diamond that shows more color in the body compared the face up view. The brilliance emitted from the face-up view should help hide some of the diamonds true body color. But if a diamond lacks in brilliance, the color will show up more from the face up view as there will be less distraction.
Regarding fancy shapes - if the diamond is face down, the diamond won't be emitting that brilliance, so the diamonds color distribution is technically even. However usually the thicker/larger a diamond is, the easier it is to see the color saturation. So the tips should appear whiter compared to the belly of the diamond even though the substance is technically the same color. It's sort of similar to stained glass. You can have two pans of stained glass that are the same exact color but when those pans are placed together, it will look a shade darker compared to one standing alone.
There can be other variables that can come into play, but the explanation above should be the most common example that I can think of.
Good morning, I went inside the mall to look at engagement rings. I’m not an expert when it comes to diamonds but I seen a white gold pear shape ring and it has a little bit of rainbow colors to it under the jewelry store light. I see a mostly blue color. Does that mean the diamonds are fake???
If the diamond emits rainbow colors, it could be real. Like crystals, the sparkle in a diamond can show all of the colors of a rainbow depending on the lighting environment they are placed under. However there are other types of stones that can replicate this effect as well. So they are possibility real diamonds, but I'd need more information to know for sure.
I had no clue about these dimond properties. Over a decade ago, when I got engaged to my husband we went dimond shopping for an engagement ring. Most regular jewelry stores did not carry D or E or even F diamonds. I remember my husband making all the questions about price difference. I got an I color and it’s so beautiful. Later we updated to a bigger size but still I color. Usually H color is the highest they will manage to get according to the sales manager at our city.
L GaRi Colorless Diamonds are hard to come by. Less than 1% of the Diamonds that come out of the earth are D or E.
“I” color stones are beautiful!
Costco always has diamonds ranging up to D for incredible prices 😊
There prices are indeed good and when comparing apples to apples regarding quality, we should be able to compete with anyone's prices. Feel free to put us to the test : )
@@DS-tw9ls Probably not GIA or AGS certified though
:D No prob! I am a patient lady. I AM in the market :) I was that crazy person who sent one of your poor victims a super long email (about optics groups), ya know us psych peeps, we luvvvv to talk ;)
I know that you guys will get to me when you can, so I fill my magpie head with sparkles until then. heehee
Funny how beauty is relative. I've never been attracted to pure white stones. They're beautiful don't get me wrong, personally Ive always thought they resembled cubic zirconia. I love the touch of color, be it a little warm or grey/blue. I'm a gem lover, love them all lol Currently I'm looking for a 2-2.5 emerald cut. I'll take the higher color but not lower clarity.
We appreciate your feedback. If you'd like assistance in finding your perfect Emerald diamond, feel free to contact sales@goodoldgold.com . We should be able to beat anyone's prices when matching overall quality. Even if you see a diamond on another website, feel free to send us over the link. There's a good chance we'll be able to offer you that same exact diamond for less $$!
I have ordered a pendant with a lot of small diamonds in it. They are vs and J-K . My question is, should I go for G or H because I want them to shine very bright or is this unecessary since they are just small stones?
That's a good question. The (shine/brilliance) of a diamond has more to do with their cut quality. However, if the pendant diamonds look warm to you regarding their color (compared to being icy white), you might indeed want to consider upgrading the color of the diamonds.
How does J (GEL certified) compare to a N (GIA certified)?
The EGL "J" diamond should appear whiter. In the past, we've seen EGL "J" colored diamonds look a grade or two lower compared to a GIA graded diamond, however we have not seen them drop to as low as 4 grades. There are also EGL diamonds that are comparable to GIA graded diamonds. It's really on a diamond-to-diamond basis and therefore the diamond would be something a reputable jeweler would have to analyze in person in order to offer you a solid opinion on the specific diamond in question.
It is realy very nice video
Sir ,i request for have you
any rapnet Diamond chart latest 2021 ?
Please send us
Thanks, we're glad you like the video. Unfortunately we're not allowed to release the information on our rap charts out, but feel free to ask another company as they might have different rules compared to ours.
What colour and Clarity would you recommend for a 2 ctw pendant
That's a good question.. Color is a matter of personal preference and everyone has their different tolerance levels. For me, if your setting the diamond in a 4-prong white gold pendant and didn't want to break the bank, I'd recommend a near colorless, decent SI graded diamond.
If your setting the diamond in a bezel or yellow gold setting, you might be able to go slightly lower in color and still be content.
We should be able to put together for you a beautiful pendant for a great price. If interested to see what we have to offer, feel free to contact sales@goodoldgold.com .
Informative
Thanks. We're glad the video was helpful : )
Bling bling
Is IGI looked “down upon”? I never hear it mentioned as a legit inspection/rating source.
That's a good question. Although IGI doesn't have the reputation that GIA has, from my understanding, IGI has been the main laboratory where suppliers are sending their lab grown diamonds to be certified and from our experience, IGI is pretty on par for the most part.
We at Good Old Gold can send a diamond to GIA for a second opinion if you have any concerns on a diamond you might be considering. If so, there's even a good chance we have access to that same diamond and can offer it to you for less than the listed price. So if you'd like our assistance, feel free to contact sales@goodoldgold.com as we'd be happy to assist and do our best to save you $$..
I actually want a warmed toned diamond, are you able to see the warm tone in a J colour diamond that is very well cut, or am I better going for an K/L/M?
Good question. I believe the K/L/M is a safer bet. Although on the fence, a "J" colored diamond is still considered "near colorless". Crossing over into the "faint" category is what we'd recommend and if you'd like assistance, feel free to contact sales@goodoldgold.com . We should be able to beat anyone's prices while matching quality..
I've got the option of H Vs1 1.51 carat or af VS1 1.30 carat.
What would you reccomend?
That's a great question. It's a matter of personal preference. Assuming the cut quality is equal, it mostly comes down to wither you prefer the size or color advantage? I'd personally go for the larger diamond in this case, but that's just me ; )
Also keep in mind that we should be able to beat anyone's prices when comparing apples to apples. So if you are looking at diamonds online or whatever, a quick email to sales@goodoldgold.com with the link of the diamond your interested in should save you some $$ for that same exact diamond as long as we have access to it as well.
Best video
Thanks, we're glad it was useful ; )
